1101  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can gambling be profitable in long term ? on: October 31, 2016, 05:53:53 PM
For some people it can be profitable in long term for sure but not for everyone. A large number of gamblers they start by loosing and just keep loosing over and over again. That is from where gambling becomes profitable for few mature gamblers as well as for casinos owners for long term off course.

Usually these people who profit in the long run are those who play poker or sport betting. This is because they are fighting with other people. So in this way, it requires skills to have an advantage in winning.

True. Sports betting is more profitable because you have more chances of winning it does not requires luck not like other gambling games.
1102  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Giving up gambling is not easy on: October 31, 2016, 05:48:47 PM
Maybe it's not easy but as soon as you do, you'll be happier than ever before. Gambling is an addiction you can't get rid of if you cannot control yourself. If you need to give up gambling because of your dangerous addiction, you can try blocking the casino websites on your computer or tell your family to help you with managing your money.

Indeed it should be start with your own control. If you can't control the way you gamble then it would be very hard for you to stop it. Try to focus on something that interest you much aside from casinos.
1103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Betting on sport = gambling? on: October 31, 2016, 05:05:22 PM
For me, both are same things, Because the way is same and give us result it is also same, I mean we use money and it is depend on our luck, many time we lose and some time we win, But the different is people more than play sports betting instead of other gambling, because many people like it than other gambling.
They are not both for me because they are one, what the OP is trying to tell is that sports betting is gambling? Big question for him but actually a simple answer if you do not complicate things. Any game that involves money as bet is always gambling therefore sports betting is gambling.

Yeah that's correct actually sports betting is just one type  of gambling. It's like poker, or dice or lucky 9. Difference is just that sports betting doesn't rely mainly on luck unlike most gambling games but as you've said, anything that has wagers can be considered as gambling

True. Sports betting really doesn't need a luck not like other gambling games. All you have to do is to check stats the desired team that you're going to bet to. Winning percentage is higher for sports betting.
1104  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Bitcoin Gambling Investments on: October 31, 2016, 04:19:16 PM
Casinos that are taking in investments these days should have proof of liabilities its a way for you to track all the funds in the site.
Something that looks similar to this. https://bitvest.io/liabilities if it don't have it you don't know if they have what they say they have.

Agreed, it has to be the new standard.

It's not a new thing at all. Just Dice was proving it years ago and BetKing used to.

We don't now because:
1) We don't need to now. I spent > 3.5 years building trust here. If you don't trust me don't invest, we already have 6300 invested.

2) The reason we don't have all funds in one address is actually because players would have accounts closed on Coinbase and exchange sites because they could track the withdrawals from gambling sites that prove funds.

I think any new site asking for investment that has not proven to be trustworthy, like bitvest, they should show proof of funds. I wouldn't invest in small sites that didn't.

But a site like BetKing or say Just Dice I don't see the need.

I agree but some new people who want to invest in casinos would rather to have atleast proof of the sites trustworthy and not only hearsay from others.. it's common thing for new investors now.. since a lot of scam sites are multiplying.
1105  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To Gamble or To Invest? on: October 31, 2016, 02:58:07 PM
hi guys, i bought 1BTC today and i am wondering to gamble or to invest the 1btc?

if to gamble

best site to gamble with a really nice provably fair..

and if to invest.

best investment program wherein no scam.

thank you for your opinions guys

cheers

If you are just going to gamble your 1 btc you will just lose all of it without knowing how you losed. Investment programs are mostly scam so i don't prefer you to invest your 1 btc in that. I prefer trading because you have many choices where coin to invest or not. You must have patience in trading in order to gain profit.

Same here, I would advice to just do trading than gambling. However, there is a catch of my recommendation - you must invest some time to learn how to effectively trade altcoins and know the pump and dump concepts in the market and other stuffs need to be learned. Therefore, you should not go ahead and start trading right away, better to start learning first.
You can trade the more coins you want but you need to have more time invested to be able to learn it. The more you focus the lesser your chances to succeed, our time is just limited so we need to balance our life, it is not just by making money but we have our social life.

My recommendation is just focus in trading legitimate coins.

True. You need to learn trading also. You cannot do it without proper knowledge on how it works. It may a long term process for you to invest but it's worth a wait once you bitcoin keeps profiting from trading.
1106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: is gambling fix your life? or wreck your life? on: October 31, 2016, 02:53:38 PM
Gambling fixed my life, before I am a sports arbitrager, I lost money, I was always all-in my bankroll, and the result was terrible, I did bad on sports betting. Last year, I became a sports arbitrager, and I bet with sure bets. In the end, I made profits, and covered my previous huge losses.

That's a good recovery for you mate. For some gamblers may not be able to recover their loses but still keep gambling and that's when to start ruining their life. It's really important that you play smart in gambling and have some luck.
1107  Economy / Economics / Re: How many BTC will make you a fiat millionaire in 5 years? on: October 31, 2016, 02:43:49 PM
Very positive outcome for you guys. I'm also expecting the same $10k value for bitcoin. But I think it will not be possible but still hoping for it so I can be a millionaire as well.
1108  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin replaces the money? Could happen? on: October 31, 2016, 06:27:19 AM
As flawed as the fiat is, bitcoin cannot replace what it does right now. Unless governments all over adopts bitcoin, which is highly unlikely to happen. And if by a small chance that happens, bitcoin as we know it would be a totally different thing.

Indeed mate. Bitcoin wilk stay what it is for now because it cannot replace fiat. Bitcoin should be introduce globally and all countries should agree to this. Remember that all countries will have different thoughts and insights about bitcoin and it will be a long process.
1109  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: My personal list of active scammers on: October 30, 2016, 05:58:43 PM
My personal list of active scammers I encountered on bitcointalk.org

Avoid these little lowlife fraudulent kids at all costs:

The general rule is: if the seller is a newbie, with no reputation, with no topic nor trust feedback, offering no vouches and/or selling from a locked or self-moderated topic and unwilling to go first or use escrow => AVOID.

Also avoid anyone calling himself "we", it's just an early teenager desperately trying to pretend he - a little boy - is some kind of a legitimate business entity, truly laughable.

Always check the trust feedback first and make sure that you have enabled "Show untrusted feedback by default" in "Profile / Forum Profile Information".

This is a good list.. should be avoided like bitcoin users like us. There are lots of sites and people who are doing scams especially nowadays because they know what's the true value of btc.. so be very careful with your btc.
1110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In gambling, Money is more important than knowledge and luck on: October 30, 2016, 05:52:07 PM
Yes money is important to start but for securing that money you need skills and knowledge and without these both I do not think that any person is going to secure their money and going to earn some more money.

Not even for securing money but for also on how to get it. Yes basically for those three we could really say that money is the most important but those two is absolutely a pure element of getting the desired money that we always wanted or maybe guess much more.

Absolutely, money is more important you cannot start with gambling without it. Knowledge can be acquire for those who have experienced gambler but it can also acquire through your own experience in gambling. If you have luck then that would be your edge when you gamble.
1111  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Do you always missed the right time to sell/buy bitcoin? on: October 30, 2016, 05:42:36 PM
I never miss the right time to buy or to sell becuase when you pay attention to the bitcoin allot and know that th eprice of tghe bitcoin is always cheating you you will never know when the right time to buy you know.
yes for most of the time i also never miss the right time to trade bitcoin, as i have recently bought some bitcoin below 600 USD and i am very happy with my that decision and hope that it will give me some good profit in the end.
Yeah its good to keep a close watch on price movement on daily basis and it can give us better idea of taking decision as selling bitcoin is never an issue as we will definitely sell them when price will exceed our entry price but sometimes its hard to judge that what is the best price to buy bitcoins.

Same as what I'm doing in trading. Keep an eye on the price movement and better to have lots of patience  ofcourse.. it's a worth waiting for when you do trading.
1112  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Safest way to sell bitcoins? on: October 30, 2016, 05:35:26 PM
The best and the safest way to sell your bitcoins is to be a part of trusted and reputed site and it will also depend on the country that you are living in as for me localbitcoins is the best place to sell my coins.
yes that is one of the most important point that you need to be very much careful about selling your bitcoin, you should really select a trusted means of selling your bitcoin.

Go to marketplaces in other forum and there are a lot of people or sites who are reputable which you can sell your bitcoins fairly. Avoid scammers who offers big money in exchange with your btc.. remember scammers will try to lure you first.
1113  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Multiply my btc on: October 30, 2016, 05:30:53 PM
Hello

I am happy (or not) the possessor of 0.03 btc (so what? We're not all rich) and I want to do the work quickly

I went to see on poloniex but the loan rate is too low to hope to multiply a small amount and I'm afraid of trading because I do not want to lose everything.

Also I looked at the mining sites but its no longer pertains.

If someone has advice or references I'm interested

Thank you

_talmidiel_

Multiply your btc?How much do you want to make?

There is no quick way, unless gambling but i don`t recommend it.

So you want to "multiply" but you are afraid of trading?Wow,i don`t know how to help.

Learn and practice first, and then invest.

Totally agree with you mate.. there's no easy way of multiplying your btc. Playing casinos? Yes you can but there's no guarantee that you can make investment to it.. unless if you're a good player or hit a one time big time jackpot. Try to invest in trading, it's a worth to invest your btc with.
1114  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: What is the least amount that can be called a 'decent' investment? on: October 30, 2016, 05:24:13 PM
I think 5 btc is a huge amount to invest in altcoins and if you are new to trading then its not recommended to go with that high amount, its always good to start with a small capital and gain experience first so I think if you  are going to trade altcoins then 0.5 btc is a good amount to start with as even if you loose it won't make much difference to you.
In my experience, even 0.1 bitcoin is more than enough to consider as a decent investment for altcoin trading. But it is highly dependent on experience of a trader, after gaining experience no single trader is preferring to go with minimal amounts.

Calculated risk is the biggest advantage of experienced traders, so they can go with any amount of investments but only after gaining handsome experience with trading.

0.1 btc is a decent investment for me as well and use some of it for trading.. as a starter in trading it's better to invest with a small capital first. Once you already know how the system works in trading that' s time you can invest with a big capital.
1115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How greedy you are ? on: October 30, 2016, 05:10:36 PM
We are all greedy people, thats why we are humans. We just want to be lazy and make money by auto-generation. No one wants to work hard like our ancestors did in order to earn money.

It is this greed which kills us in gambling. You need to know when to stop otherwise you will end up losing all.
That greediness will kill us in the end as we will never be satisfied despite of the fact that we have achieve major success already. We should have a definite goal especially in gambling where the game is very risky and we can be dictated by our emotion until we solely play based on luck.

Yes indeed mate, being greedy will ruin our life so that's why it is included as one of the capital sin based in my religion. In gambling, we have to learn how to control ourself no matter how much winnings we earn for the day.
1116  Economy / Economics / Re: Why have Bitcoin instead of cash? on: October 30, 2016, 05:01:37 PM
The OP pointed good reasons, besides the efficiency to send and receive money, for me one of the best things is to have real control over the funds, without depending on banks and central authorities.

And we should not also forget bitcoins anomity, For a privacy freak like me, Opening a bitcoin waller is faaaaaaaaar more better than opening an account in a bank like you have to bring a bunch of documents and fill out forms

Plus we are free form the banks strict rules and regulation and their fee's like transaction fee, yearly fee, maintaining balance etc.

There are many reasons why bitcoin is beter than fiat but we should not forget that fiat has it's important role in this growing community Smiley

True. Going to bank to open an account is somehow I consider a big hassle which you need to fill out lots of forms.. not like with bitcoin you can manage your money the way you want it.
1117  Economy / Economics / Re: Paying taxes on forum? on: October 30, 2016, 04:54:10 PM
No it's not because no government owns bitcoin to make us to pay taxes for whatever services that we offer in this forum. This is one of the advantage for us who uses bitcoins it's tax free.
1118  Economy / Economics / Re: WILL BITCOIN BE USED BY ALMOST EVERYONE IN 2022? on: October 30, 2016, 04:38:00 PM
Things are moving fast, but I believe will be required at least a decade for this to happen. It's not easy to make all people to understand the technology and adopt the currency in a few years.

True. Even if there are a lot of bitcoin users there are some people also who are not interested in it. There's a lot of planning ahead to introduce the world of bitcoin and I think 2022 is not enough to educate everyone and use bitcoin.
1119  Economy / Economics / Re: Let's Be Honest. We Are Waiting for $100/BTC to buy on: October 30, 2016, 03:23:48 PM
I do not hope that it will be possible to buy Bitcoin and costs $ 100. Those days are long gone. Now completely different prices Bitcoin. And it would be even more expensive in the future.

There is always a possibility to everything so as long as bitcoin still exist there a chance that the price could be going down to as low as $100. You wont really know when all those hacker going to dump their coin and if they really do so then it could be even much lower than $100

Let's just don't think that the price will go down, because I know all of you here does want the price of bitcoin to keep on pumping and I know no one here is able not to hold some bitcoins. Not those hackers are the ones that usually will dump their coins but the whales that who are holding a lot of bitcoins so they are the ones who are going to contribute a lot with that fall but let's don't hope that it will happen.

Price of bitcoin may go down but not too low as $100 because from what I can see bitcoin keep pumping to reach it as high as $700. So the difference is really big and right now bitcoin users are growing and become more popular so I think it may not possible this time for the bitcoin value to drop that big.
1120  Economy / Economics / Re: What will be our new world currency? on: October 30, 2016, 03:13:18 PM
I'm pretty sure that most of us, people that are always on the Internet, will become global minded in the new world instead of just staying inside our comfort zone and thinking locally. We would need bitcoins at that time to transact with people worldwide. But because the majority of people aren't ready for this, I think the currency in the next decade or so will still be dollars. People just love the USA and dollars so much.

Indeed. Bitcoin will remain in the future but I believe that it may take time to be legalized and consider it as a new world currency. First it should be introduced to each country and yeah there will be a lot of debate and discussions to attend to before it reaches its goal. For now, USD will still be the top world  currency.
