441  Bitcoin / Mining / Re: BestShare value for AntMiner S4 in a single day operation? on: July 17, 2015, 05:07:49 AM
My best on Ck's solo pool was 8,000,000
442  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Question about pools? on: July 11, 2015, 09:34:21 PM
Cause i was looking at hashnest paying 0.98 & f2pool paying 0.94 & thinking every now & then either one of these guys pays more than the other, It swaps & changes all the time...

If they we smart about it when they are the lowest one of the 2 they could simple mine on the others chain & in this example for every t/h they have they make 0.04.

72p/h

72,000,000 x 0.04 (Correct me if i fucked up the petahash conversion) = 2880000btc everyday for free!
443  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Question about pools? on: July 11, 2015, 08:57:23 PM
Hi all...

I hope im not wasting anyones time with a question like this asked before...

I just wanted to know is it possible for a small mining pool, instead of pointing to its own wallet to mine, Is it possible to point all the mining power from there pool to another pool (Mypool ---> to F2pool) to bring up there stats

& also if they stated they paid less than f2pool that they could keep the difference?

I highly doubt this happens or has happened i just wanted to know, was it possible???
444  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4+ Discussion and Support Thread on: July 11, 2015, 08:24:16 PM
Hi all,

I understand the S4+ has some power mods to make it more power efficient than a S4. I was wondering if anyone can tell me about the freq settings in the S4+

---------------------------------------------------------------------

So in the S4 main freq settings i use are

100 = 1000gh at unsure power after removal of underclocking..

125 = 1250gh --- u get the picture

150 = 1500gh --- u get the picture

175 = 1750gh ---u get the picture

200 = 2000gh @ 1440w

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Can someone tell me how many chips are in the S4+, what the stock freq is for 2570gh @ 1480w & what other freqs are available & has under / over volting been removed?

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My ultimate goal here is to work out what the lowest clock & volt are @ how many watts at the wall & if the S4 & the S4+ are essentially the same unit with exceptions on the power supply, how many chips are in the unit & stock voltage, What we & BITMAIN can do to translate these settings over to the S4 so we can give this puppy a bit more life...

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

On a side note - what are the differences in the firmwares for the S4 & S4+??

And (Beware this is not a dare) has anyone tried (Or mistakenly) installed the S4+ firmware on an S4 & if so what was the outcome (Good or bad?)

-----------------------------------------------------------------------

On another really side note does anyone know Smit who did the fan mod for the S4 in the begining?? Maybe he could answer a few of the questions i posed here??
445  Economy / Speculation / Re: Price Surge! $260 to $293 on: July 11, 2015, 03:01:22 AM
I suppose i didn't really think about them, More focused on Greece but there hadn't been any movement because of them at all..

Thanks guys...
446  Economy / Speculation / Price Surge! $260 to $293 on: July 11, 2015, 12:41:05 AM
Can anyone tell me what the sudden $30 surge in the price of bitcoin was caused by??
447  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Hardware whats going on? on: July 10, 2015, 04:44:00 PM
I personally have never purchased directly from manufacturers, I find it much more cost effective to buy from panic wholesalers on places like forums, Amazon, eBay, and Craigslist.

If u have never brought from bitmain direct then there is a good chance u have never roi!
448  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: ANTMINER S4 Discussion and Support Thread on: July 05, 2015, 02:56:09 AM
Can some explain the difference between the S4 & the S4+

I understand it has more chips & it goes faster but does it have better w/gh?

If so & the chips are the same what can be done to bring our firmware inline with it??

PS Bitmain wheres the underclocking firmware?Huh
449  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: New mining hardware for july on: July 03, 2015, 02:35:12 PM
I'm really interested in the specs & to see if bitmain took any advice or hints & tips that have been posted in this forum....

Be interesting to see if we the user have any pull as to the way they design there miners...
450  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - stuck chain, wait for update on: June 30, 2015, 01:07:55 AM
U can download the block chain close enough to current from there website too so u do need to do that..

http://chain.huntercoin.org/

There u go...
451  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain S4 running 3 pools in balanced mode on: June 29, 2015, 12:16:05 PM
I was solo mining Ck's pool with F2pool & Nicehash... All at the same time.. in balance mode..

I did look thru my site stats & nothing was there...

I did look thru my miner stats & i was getting a lot of stales & a lot of orphans on all pools..

It ended up at one stage my miner was telling me i had popped 13 blocks in about 2 hours...

When i powered down my miner & powered up again, My miner wouldn't hash & i had to re install my sd card to get it to work again..

Bitmain has said in the past if u fuck around with cg miner in ssh u can break ur miner...

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My experiment taught me a few things thou...

If u balance or load balance an Antminer C1 or S4 thru SSH in wont save on reboot & if u try save in thru cgminer, Things will get wacky..

Also when u load balance or balance the SSH the miner never reaches its full speed

Example = S4 = 2TH when split across 3 pools in either balance mode the max u get is about 400gh on either pool at the same time meaning ur shorting ur self about 800gh doing this.

A better thing to do is to rotate across 3 pools at 20 min intervals, Make sure u solo mine 1 pool, & whatever other pools u use pay out on Pay per share not any other method to maximise ur payments.

To do rotate SSH into miner & then :

screen -r

to get cgminer then P for pool management

then change from failover to rotate (2) for (20 mins)

This will not save on restart, I'm still waiting for someone to help me with that..

No problems we await egerly!
453  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: How much mining equipment will be shut off when the block reward is halved? on: June 27, 2015, 11:21:10 AM
At current price of btc & current equipment with the diff the way it is all machines mining for profit & paying for electricity will be turned off...

The mining just for fun & people mining on solar will always be there
454  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: SolarTeslaMiner on: June 27, 2015, 11:12:06 AM
I'm not right up on power pricing & structure in your area but here's an idea to try maximise ur power & save money..

First i dont know how long it takes to fill a telsa battery so please take that into consideration.

Do u have on peak or off peak power available to u?

U could buy enough battery packs to charge using grid power in off peak times so that u could run them all the time & even mix them up with some solar panels to reduce that cost
455  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: You have $1,000,000 USD to set up a mining operation. What hardware? Why? on: June 27, 2015, 11:03:57 AM
$1,000,000 invested in bitcoin...

Living in Australia, The worlds windiest & sunniest countries...

I would buy a small property in our lovely sunny drought prone areas approx $400,000

I would spend the remaining $600,000 on a mix of solar & S5's...

Balance the mix of miners so that u have enough solar power to maximise the amount of miners....

That way the mining power is always cost free other than isp fees...

I can't believe no one else in this thread had thought past the point of just buying lots of miners without thought for where ur going to house them & how u were going to power them, Now & into the future...

$1,000,000 worth of bitcoin miners without these key elements are about as useful as $1,000,000 worth of boat anchors & u don't even have a boat!
456  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][HUC] Huntercoin - stuck chain, wait for update on: June 27, 2015, 10:30:56 AM
Hows things going with the update?? We are all waiting patiently for u..
457  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Blockswarm Protocol proposition - solo mining, full node cooperative on: June 27, 2015, 10:24:09 AM
Thanks Kano, I think when i was referring to someone talking about this ages ago, I think it was u...

I was stabbing in the dark in my explanation, Ur's are always much better as they are right 99.9999% of the time..
458  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: DGM + Solo mining pool on: June 26, 2015, 08:12:17 PM

How is this solo mining if you're splitting the block reward with somebody else?  This is nothing more than a pool with a 50% block finder's fee.  Good luck with that.
Its not about 50% as pool , Rather if you look at it in a situation of glass being half full instead of half empty, say if the person mine's solo then his chances of finding the block are pretty slim however if we all combine the pool finding the blocka re pretty high and the person finding the block gets hald the bitcoins and the remaining will be diveded equally based on DGM. do you guys think this would be a good project to work on.
[/quote]

No this will never fly...

Ask yourself a question???

How many blocks have i personally solved...

Me personally being mining since diff was about 7 mill

I have never solved a block ever....

Why would i want to win 50% of the coins for solving a block that i have never solved...

This setup gives a penalty towards miners who have never solved the block & biases towards ones who have/can

Doesnt work for me..
459  Bitcoin / Pools / Re: Blockswarm Protocol proposition - solo mining, full node cooperative on: June 26, 2015, 08:05:52 PM
I think u'll find p2pools blockchain is actually slightly different to bitcoins blockchain...

Someone mentioned a while back something about that

Sort of like bitmains mining pool...
460  Bitcoin / Hardware / Re: Bitmain S4 running 3 pools in balanced mode on: June 26, 2015, 01:27:29 PM
I'm not sure what was happening but i was messing around with cgminer in ssh & think the blocks it found were either stale or orphaned, Not too sure what caused it but i actually broke the software on the sd card & had to fully reinstall it on both a C1 & an S4
