1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: How to find gems? on: September 29, 2018, 10:31:21 PM
And what kind of projects do you research?
If you are looking for gems, better research coins that have been released in the market recently and haven't been pumped yet but is not that far away from ICO price. You can also research infamous coins with use cases that can generate real demand in the future, and then diversify your investment onto multiple of them, you might get lucky by doing so.
2  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: New site for blockchain torrents on: September 28, 2018, 10:51:42 AM
The next target will be the ETH blockchain, but it's currently too large to fit on the cheapo servers.
You better not attempt storing ETH blockchain's data yet, since there are plans for it to switch from Proof of Work to Proof of Stake algorithm as stated in this article and this another site .
Lemme know if you have any questions or comments.
How often do you update the data in your database? It would still take a lot of time to sink bitcoin core wallet if the files contained in the torrent are outdated by at least 2 months or more(at least, that is the case for me. For others, it might not be a trivial issue).
3  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Price prediction for next 24 hour. on: September 27, 2018, 09:56:05 PM
I can not explain my instinct, though I call it 'skill at the unconscious level'.
Sounds like someone here is very confident on his instincts but if that's it, I would not say that it is based on simple support and resistance levels because you only looked at the chart and made a random speculation. Anyhow, thanks for the prediction though I hope that newbies would not take it seriously because it is dangerous to trust others' instinct sometimes.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: The occurrence of bitcoin price movements from year to year on: September 27, 2018, 12:33:10 PM
This is the real picture of global bitcoin growth, not the price movement. Grin
Unfortunately, OP is not here to talk about the global bitcoin growth but instead its growth based on price. Either way, you are right that the volumes itself are the real sign of the increase in bitcoin adoption and not the price.
from this data shows that not always the price of bitcoin can be high, there must be a year that makes the price of bitcoin collapse and this year the price movements are almost the same as in 2014-2015 (prices tend to fall).
It is also noticeable that the year 2015-2016 chart is missing but if you look at it on coinmarketcap, one can notice that it was uneventful during that time frame(based on chart). The price goes up and down every now and then but is kept at a certain price range by that time. With that, I think if anyone is to speculate that we will see another repeat of that pattern, then the upcoming year would be the same as the year 2015-2016.
5  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Wage Theft on: September 27, 2018, 10:57:14 AM
I believe investigating wage theft is not the cops' job. In my opinion, investigating such cases, most of the time is the job of the US Department of Labor's Wage and Hour Division. The only role the cops will play on that is arresting the law offenders in case the Department of Labor finished their investigation and found the accused guilty beyond reasonable doubt after a court trial.
6  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Advise Some Opensource Block Explorer on: September 26, 2018, 12:35:26 PM
Since you might already have built a working block explorer, I think you should stick to what you are currently using as of the moment if you don't want more hassle. You can just fix the error(which is it showing the wrong supply) to make things easier. Nevertheless, follow the other suggestion above if you want to use bitcoin's block explorer instead of litecoin's.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Now more than 2000 crypto currencies on coinmarketcap on: September 26, 2018, 11:10:20 AM
That just shows how famous blockchain and cryptocurrency has got all over the years to attract that many developers(and scammers) to develop many tokens and shitcoins. In addition to that, it is also worth mentioning that most of the 1103 tokens coinmarketcap keeps track to runs on ethereum blockchain using smart contract and on other coins allowing easy creation of own altcoin in form of tokens like waves.
8  Economy / Economics / Re: Google is ending its sweeping ban on cryptocurrency-related advertising. on: September 26, 2018, 10:18:34 AM
Hopefully they don't also begin allowing the promotion of Centralized Cryptocurrencies (fake Cryptocurrencies).
From the looks of it, they would if governments begin to issue such cryptocurrencies after all, why would they not allow the promotion of centralized cryptocurrencies if they allowed the advertisement of regulated exchanges?
It's good to know that they won't allow shaddy ICO projects to promote their shit.
Which are the "regulated crypto exchanges"?Coinbase?I don't think they need any advertising.
Even if they won't, I am sure that we will see one or two shady ICO projects promoting their shit despite not allowing them to advertise using google ads. Also, regulated crypto exchanges there meant exchanges that comply with their country's Securities and Exchange Commission organization or exchanges already regulated by them.
9  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: 2% trading strategy, can this be applied for crypto trading? on: September 25, 2018, 01:01:29 PM
The 2% rule is pointless for long term crypto traders and HODLers. The bitcoin price always moves up and down with +/-5% every day. What if a trader just buys some bitcoins and activates auto stop loss order at 2%?
The 2% rule here just pertains to limiting the maximum lost one can get when trading a pair. It is done by investing only 2% of the capital of the trader but all in all, it is not that different to normal trading thus, it is not pointless for long term crypto traders and holders. In fact, it might be beneficial since they can pick many altcoins that have potential to grow in the future(which means more potential profit).
10  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: ❗ CryptoTxAlert.com ❗ - a transaction alert service for crypto users on: September 25, 2018, 05:32:08 AM
As of the moment, I think the service itself is okay. The site is fast and all but I suggest that you should add more supported major altcoins like litecoin , BCH or altcoins that survived for a long time like doge in the future. Also, since it is a service for crypto, I think you should add more crypto payment methods besides credit card so that it will be easier for crypto users to avail of your service.
11  Other / Politics & Society / Re: THE SECOND CONFEDERACY on: September 24, 2018, 11:23:51 AM
But we are all a bit like that. We all need money.
I guess we can also say that this charade of theirs is caused by the greed for money and power of those in power and it will also be the cause of the secession of the 13 states if it will continue developing towards that direction. Either way, why should anyone care about their petty power struggle? If they want, Americans themselves can just simply secure most of their money through other currencies and assets so that their wealth would somehow be unaffected by the events that might unfold.
12  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Iceland’s Industry to Shift From Crypto Mining to ‘Pure Blockchain Business,’ on: September 24, 2018, 09:54:09 AM
It's good that a sparsely populated country like Iceland had understood the possibilities, while major powers are still skeptical about it!
The news only stated that Iceland's crypto industry will shift from mining to pure blockchain business and it is not stated whether the government supported their decision or not. It also did not tell whether Iceland's government itself is skeptic about it or not. Either way, this is still good news since the companies mentioned in the news are prominent companies after all.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: Entrepreneurship is the only way out on: September 23, 2018, 09:43:40 AM
Entrepreneurship is one good ways to multiply available jobs in a country but not everyone can be an entrepreneur. It takes certain skills for one to become a successful entrepreneur. Also, job seekers are important for an entrepreneur since a business would not be lucrative without workers. Thus, do not blame job seekers for the joblessness in a country, blame the lazy ones instead(since job are equally presented to everyone but not all people apply for jobs).
14  Other / Meta / Re: Cooper member and cant post images on: September 23, 2018, 07:44:46 AM
If images are still not visible to you OP, then you should try to clear your browser's history and cache completely and then wait for a while. If it is already visible to you also, then the problem is solved. It might have had just taken a while for your account to enjoy paid membership privileges (because it is still refreshing). Also, please lock this thread to prevent spam if your problem is already solved.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: Predictions if Bitcoin ETFs are approved on: September 23, 2018, 05:10:51 AM
If I were you OP, I would not expect much from ETFs since they won't impact the market that much because:
only Winklevoss ETF was the physical one. Rest all were synthetic.
unless there will be another physical ETF in the future(that will be approved by SEC). Either way, the continuous stream of ETFs for bitcoin is a big help in speeding up the growth of its adoption rate even if they are not getting approved(since it greatly helps in spreading the existence of bitcoin through news).
16  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [PROJECT] CRYPTRUST on: September 22, 2018, 09:59:37 PM
You can move your thread to Announcements (Altcoins) section.
I think Project Development would be a better place to move this since the project focuses on their platform and not their tokens. Either way, I think any of the two sections we suggested are better than being here in altcoin discussions. OP can just post another thread on project development talking about their platform only for more useful suggestions from users on the development.
17  Economy / Economics / Re: Found out where all the bitcoin money went... on: September 21, 2018, 01:38:29 PM
Those overpriced stocks are more shitty than all the shitty altcoins or ICO tokens. Grin
At least it is better than those shitcoins right now and is profitable despite the risk. Nevertheless, I also think that it's bull run would not last and buying in some of it at this point of time is a waste IMO.
Maybe those who sold their bitcoins used it to invest in this surging industry.
Only a part of it. Those who sold their bitcoins during the bullish season probably invested their money on other things beside marijuana unless they reinvested it on stocks before the bearish season started.
18  Other / Politics & Society / Re: There is nothing like free and fair election, lets stop deceiving ourselves! on: September 21, 2018, 11:11:35 AM
It does not exist yet, at least for now since votes are being manipulated if not bought. The real problem with voting is that the one who can sway the public easily will win. The voting system is and will be exploited because there is a lot of money involved in politics. That's why they are so desperate to get into position. It might change though if decentralized voting comes to pass.
19  Bitcoin / Project Development / Re: How can we promote our 5-year-old exchange? on: September 20, 2018, 12:24:24 PM
Thank you for your advice, actually we have been the top 3 in our country before, but because some known things we have to rebrand our exchange last year.Thank you again for your patience.
It is either you follow the tips from the post above or you can start the signature campaign by managing it on your own. To do that, you only need to start a thread in services section in marketplace and then contact a trusted escrow if you want to gain the trust of your participants. You can monitor the website's traffic by yourself to see if your effort in starting a signature campaign is paying off.
20  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why my position is decrease from Jr member to Newbie on: September 20, 2018, 10:14:27 AM
but what should I do to improve?
You should read and start participating in real discussions here in this forum if you want to improve. Also, avoid shitposting(posting things that are off-topic to the discussion in a thread) and spamming in order to rank up.
I have seen posts of mine which were not really considered very good in spite of my best efforts.
Always remember that when you are really making a constructive post, a merit or two will inevitably come your way no matter what your rank is so long as you are participating in discussions.
