101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN][MIN] Minerals - POS | Developing own anon solution | on: September 10, 2014, 07:26:02 AM
You may need to get a faster HDD for your server - anything to do with DBs will need fast HDD access - might be worth investing in an SSD or setting up a decent RAID array on a mini desktop PC rather than on a laptop - especially if its VM'd on top of windows.

The main issue here is that development should work in tandem to promotion - tournaments could have been sponsored by minerals to improve publicity - as long as minerals can be bought and sold it can be used as a currency.

Bitcoin took ages to develop and at first you could barely buy anything - alpaca socks and pizza come to mind.

Minerals needs to either be as good as Bitcoin or better for it to take off as a currency

My only comment to the dev is that there are a lot of Minerals users out here who want it to emerge into a decent coin rather than some fud or pos coin and there is a shed load of those already - the roadmap and the concept of this coin are great, i suspect if the dev would only comment on his future plans - just to speak his mind it would help!

Dev'll drop his project and jump on others , MIN gone and everyone's believe in crypto is waste

At least something I can tell for certain - MIN devs are not working on any other projects. Well except me, but that is the whole different story.

Any reason why he doesnt post on the forum any more? Also any explanantion about the block explorer?

Its a shame that this coin will die - i thought it had a lot of potential.

Have you tried in a different PC or a different USB lead? might also be worth rying on a different PSU to exlude any other hardware as faulty.

I dont think adjusting the chip speed will make any difference to the fan rpm.

113  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: Rasperry pi + hub 7 port + 6 usb antminer u1 on: August 12, 2014, 12:14:36 PM
It might be worth adding some information about the software on the Pi - which distro are you running?
114  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: questions setting up my 525gh/s rocket box, please help me! on: August 12, 2014, 12:08:57 PM
You will need to setup a bitcoin node and run it in server mode; the guide linked below assumes you have a windows 7 desktop.

http://ukminers.co.uk/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=112

You can still run the pi and rbox and just point it at the new node
115  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: New to mining. Trying to get block eruptors to work on: August 11, 2014, 07:20:18 AM
ok so now i got my usb hub and i ran bfg miner and see\arched for all devices and found all 4 of my 1.6 g/hs eruptors. but they arent running at 1.6 g/h. i have an arctic fan blowing on them and the usb hub is powered.

Sounds like you think the Eruptors are Antminer U1s to be running at 1.6G/hash each - did they get sold to you as 1.6 G/hash capacity or is that your own mistake? Being scammed seems to be the common issue with BTC atm.

With these block erupters if you're only wanting to learn they are fine - 2.5w x4 is hardly going to make a massive dent in your elec bill - swap out a standard bulb for an energy efficient one and you've pretty much saved the amount of electricity - its when you're burning 4kw and not making a profit that it'll become an issue.

You can normally run one miner per USB port but i wouldnt recommend it.

Get a decent USB hub with a power pack of 2A minimum.

If you plan on getting more get a 10 port USB 2.0 (if you plan on using a Pi or similar to run the miner usb 3 wont work)

Might also be worth removing your password from the OP Wink
117  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: ANTMINER S1 x6 - very good price! on: August 08, 2014, 08:06:03 AM
AFAIK paypal will get the transaction refunded/recalled from his bank anyway - scammers dont win if the payment is through paypal.

Gutted for you though mate - its a right PITA.

trying to organise a couple of payments atm too.

Do you have a fan blowing on the block erupters? If not they will be incredibly hot...
