321  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: USB miner issues on: September 10, 2013, 07:12:10 AM
The HUB i hvae on my PC is powered directly from the PSU so has plenty of power and works perfectly - not had any issues with that hub since installing it - the external hub im currently using is a DLINK DUB-H7 - its recommended for the USB miners - its pluged directly into the motherboard USB ports at the back.

I'm using BFGminer 3.2.0 if that helps?
322  Bitcoin / Mining support / Re: USB miner issues on: September 09, 2013, 10:54:42 AM
i'm running BFGMiner, 4 USB miners on a USB hub plugged into the PC and 4 miners in the DLINK hub - now all 8 show up and occasinaloly some error BUT not all of them are actually submitting shares

What's... THAT?! Cheesy
(Feel like I've missed something...)
It looks like stripped USB Block Erupters.

Not quite, the board is different, and also some components (not to mention led color and heat sink!).
A new or old generation of the current design, perhaps?

Or you could use BFGMiner and the VCP drivers, which means you don't have to fool about with the pointless WinUSB stuff.

done Smiley also dropped the difficulty and everything seems happier now Smiley
326  Bitcoin / Mining support / USB miner issues on: September 06, 2013, 12:41:35 PM
I've got 8 ASICMINER USB miners running - 2 in a hub on my PC and 6 on a dlink hub - all were working ok on cgminer 3.1.0 but a couple were iffy (no accepted shares) so i decided to upgrade to cgminer 3.4.2

ive downloaded the new version of zadig (http://zadig.akeo.ie/)

installed the winUSB driver and run cgminer-nogpu.exe:

cgminer-nogpu.exe -o *** -u *** -p *** --icarus-options 115200:1:1 --icarus-timing 3.0=100

only one miner runs - any suggestions what ive done wrong?

I think myself & 2 other 40mhash miners have reached the end of the experiment

Overall we are down ~ 5-7 % (straight LTC) and dropping .. for the 10days

I dont understand why there where times when there should have been more... but long story short its not for us

We will do our FTC\LTC shuffle ourselfs

my assumtion would be that this pool would be best design for people with sub 5mhash as generally that would only be a few rigs to manage - the bigger guys would have more time to supervise as i expect they like to monitor the nuts and bolts of their rigs too - my rig has been setup and i leave it alone apart from maintenance - if i had 10 of them i'd guess that i'd need more time to monitor them all and i'd probably end up micromanaging the rigs and probably spreading them accross several mining pools instead of having the eggs in one basket of throwing 20 rigs on one pool.

The shorting of the PSU seems straight forward - BUT A PAPER CLIP! in this day and age....

There are cheap enough molex bridging tools on ebay: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ATX-PSU-Bridging-Tool-24-Pin-Turns-PSU-on-without-Motherboard-/190791414522?pt=UK_Computing_Water_Cooling&hash=item2c6c0df2fa

Do u have any plans to add new coins for making more profit ?

No, not at the moment. There aren't any more coins that would be profitable with our hashrate. I'll need to split up our hashrate, but that's difficult, so it may be a while.

would it help IF you ran two copies of the pool on separate IPs and round-robin the middlecoin.com domain to both IPs? that way you'd halve(ish) the hashrate per pool and could separate each pool from which coins you mine with? the only issue i can see is centralising the reporting stage?

Soo... anyway. Someone might be interested in this. I took h2o's json and made a page you can click on for your individual stats.

http://middlepage.gurutech.ws/stats.php
You can just put in your address like this
http://middlepage.gurutech.ws/stats.php?id=1P4yWhXx7FKtWiGJYZuX5CNEm126iSFuZg
or just click the link and bookmark that. I may have to take it down if boss don't want it there.

might be worth getting this feature added on the main middlecoin site

Some of the units from this group buy have now been shipped, due to low stock not all have been unfortunetly.

If you don't receive a private message by later this evening, you'll be in the second shipment which I expect to receive from YXT at the end of the week.

fingers and everything else crossed! Cheesy

No PM for me Sad i assume that there are a couple of people getting two shipments? as there are people on the list above me who also ordered additional miners after me?

I hope Friedcat release once for all more than 1000 units for 0.1 BTC.

discount prog is only to honor/compensate the early buyer
--> you can get max the quantity you bought for 0.89/0.99 or more

afaik Wink

what about the REALLY early buyers who bought at 2.1 each?

I think Friedcat released discount BEs or coupons with the idea they'd go to the early buyers who paid 1BTC or more so as to offset the rapid difficulty rise and low return at that price but at least one reseller having the units used those to pump up current sales almost halving his then already lower prices.  Since that wasn't what Friedcat indicated they were for, Friedcat may have stopped.

Doesn't seem fair on the rest of us who bought and are expecting something back (after being told we were entitled to it)...

If the people who paid 0.99 for them get one, by rights we should get 2 per 1 we bought.

Agreed - but i guess thats upto the supplier - they already have our coins - they don't 'have' to honor anything...
