261  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: Faucethub.io Closed? Expresscrypto.io is Open With Many Faucets! on: December 02, 2019, 11:13:12 PM
Yay!! I am so glad something has taken FH place. I was worried. I knew something would but I was worried since I thought if there was something else why didn't they come out now while FH as still around and not only because FH is ending. Oh well as long as there is something replacing it. Right now it is a micropayment processor but I hope with time it will become something more like FH with connected faucets and things like that?

I love the look of the site and the custom cursor is great.
262  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: No matter how successful a bounty project is...... on: December 02, 2019, 10:49:59 PM
You should not really blame the bounty. You need to have a look at the stakes and the number of tokens or coins they are paying and work out for yourself whether it is worth it or not. Sometimes it is clear it is worth it and you get very few $$ worth of tokens per stake. In these cases save your time and skip that particular bounty. Otherwise, you just waste so much of your time and get paid peanuts. Be responsible for your own time.
263  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: ERC20 token mixer? on: December 02, 2019, 09:02:12 PM
I can understand you want to keep your erc20 portfolio private. I use to think mixing was mostly for people wanting to do eh... Not to legal things or to hide their ill-gotten gains but after reading what some of the guys from the chip mixer campaign I changed my mind pretty quickly. See crypto is transparent but sometimes in rarer occasions it is not a good thing and you want privacy. Unlike banking system everything is accessable by anyone even those without wallets or indeed any crypto. There many reasons for wanting to remain anonymous and it is mostly due to safety. I know some ICO track what their buyers do with their crypto and when they sell and things like that, I do not agree with this and I have been messaged by some strange Russian dude because I sold some failed shit coin on the exchange. He called me a cheater for selling it and it was very very strange because he was selling the tokens for $5 and I had 70k of them and I saw them for sale a bit more then I sold them for so he was a scammer trying to get people to buy this over priced token directly instead of from the exchange. It seemed like a good project but I will not be fooled again. In this case, I would have liked to have mixed my tokens as not to be hunted down by deranged devs harassing me over selling what is mine.

Now I feel differently about mixers. In the crypto world there reasons to use it in the fiat world it is really for laundering since fait cannot be traced by others other than the authorities and banks. It makes sense. But we so use to thinking in fiat so we make assumptions.

DOesn't it cost lots for the fees to send all those mixes? How many transactions are made and surely it must cost an arm and a leg?
264  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Brave Browser - Why it doesn't care about your privacy on: December 02, 2019, 08:24:07 PM
KYC pisses me off. I am pirate and pirates don't do KYC argh!! Anyway I never got around to using brave beyond installing ait and looking at it for a few minutes. They do not support ads here. Now I never will use it sine KYC is the work of witch craft and from satan himself. xP Some mysterious weirdo online wants to know where I live? Why? Will they promise to visit? My ID number? Wow, that's just rude. don't you know it's rude to ask a woman her age? Ok, I am not a woman but they didn't know that. They also have my IP as well. A picture of me too? Wow, we are good friends. I mean... Who here would tell someone they have just met on IG where they live?? Noone.... Why should this be any different? This is worse infact. I am not even that paranoid since I have given my exact GPS location of where I live to friends I trust online. But that is to someone I really care about and are actual friends I trust. Not some mysterious wierdo who wants to pay me for my personal info. It makes me think of some shady dude in the street walking up to you and offering you some weird black market deal.
I don't know about anyone else but I do not sleep well a night knowing people have my personal info. I mean... Will they tell us who they are or where they live? Not a damn chance. This is why the exchange I use for fiat I know the actual owner. He in in artiles and has an actual full and real name and is an actualy real person you can get hold of if you really want to. So foe this I make an exepction. They also very helpful and treat me well. The dchange is called valr.com It is South African. Here we have good laws. We don't go ape crazy like the USA does with taxes and restrictions and shit but if you are planning on scamming people you will face harsh penalty.
Bascially here you have your freedom but if you screw it up and abuse it you are going to pay dearly. So few people are aware of the laws in my country and oftten think we live in a sham. It is not true. We embrace crypto with open arms here and we encourage freedom and discourage KYC like prceedures. The goverment here warns traders of KYC and that they cannot protect you if something bad happens so they tell you it is up to you. As I say freedom is important and we have some of the best laws in the world here. So when your goverment warns you not to do KYC you should really listen. Valr.com KYC is offially done through proper prosudures and my data is legally protected by south african law.

People tend to abuse things, just take a look at the Keybase airdrop where over 95,000 fake registrations were disqualified and you would know what I am talking about, for this to be sustainable, it has to be a fair distribution to everyone and that includes real users only so I have to admit that I wasn't really surprised when j saw this because if the KYC wasn't implemented, people would always find a way to exploit the system, you have to see it from this point of view as well.

Very interesting that you would tell us to think of it from a different point when you doing the exact same thing. You can't really cheap them by creating multiple account because you get paid to watch ads not to have more registrations. It doesn't matter how many accounts you have you can only watch a certain amount of ads at the same time. If you create VM for each account it wont matter because you have to be actively at the screen and active. YOu can't just leave it for 24 hours and think it will work. New ads show and load with interaction.
265  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: [GAME] Coinleone - to be launched on early 2020 on: December 01, 2019, 11:55:38 PM
-_- I see a cool looking picture on a nice black background. A nice looking website logo and the social media links at the bottom. Is that supposed to impress me or something? Should I now go empty my whole wallet into this game? I think so. I think this is a great investment and I will take my families golden goose and offer it as a sacrifice for this game... This is literally what people do. They invest in something after seeing a picture and a web domain.... I am not saying this won't turn out to become a game but it doesn't look so good right now. I mean there is nothing there. Nothing. If I was making a game I would be excited to tell everyone about it.
266  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: One solid reason that I came across for the need of BitCoins. <Be Your own Bank> on: December 01, 2019, 09:40:09 PM
I hate when people ask for bank statements. My face just goes -_- then it droops down on the sides as it melts. So much crap that they charge you just to check your account. Like say it out loud. Like ask the guy at the bank to just hear himself say it. How can they even tell people with a straight face? They basically charging you money for something that is free and something that is also pretty much made up. 100INR is just to churn a quick profit for themselves for the end of year bonuses next month. This is why I have always hated banks. Too damn nosey about my own damn affairs.
267  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: It's hard to spend Crypto - Make adopters out of entrepreneurs on: December 01, 2019, 09:28:50 PM
in short, it is hard to spend bitcoin because we don't want to spend bitcoin!

we can't expect big retailers,... to start accepting bitcoin payments when majority of people are looking at bitcoin as an investment and are hodling on tight not wanting to spend it at all. in my opinion if we want to see them adopt bitcoin we fist have to start spending it ourselves.

ps. an interesting observation that i had was in 2017 that both the increase and the decline in number of merchants happened in that year while price was rising. the increase part was well expected since whenever price rises people tend to spend more times. but the decline was an exception, and it happened due to ridiculous rise in fees. for example Valve stopped accepting bitcoin in their steam client because the transaction fee values were higher than the value of their games!
and this is another reason why we still don't see that much adoption specially among big retailers.

I just buy steam gift cards with bitcoin. I prefer it anyway. I remember when the fees were that high. Lol, we all felt rich so we wanted to spend spend spend. I don't see why people use bitcoin as an investment only and not a method to pay. Just fill your bitcoin wallet up every now and then and spend from it. Here a local payment processor stopped support for bitcoin because people were not getting their transactions in on time and things like that> (basically idiots since I never had any problems) the only time we ever had problems with that was during the time you spoke of when fees went through the roof. Then transactions took very long. So they called these limitations of bitcoin. They said they still support crypto but are waiting for something else. I don't know why they just don't support eth.
268  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: The Top 5 Staking Tokens on: December 01, 2019, 05:04:53 PM
I like to take chances with lesser-known coins and stock up on them through promotions airdrop or another form of distribution including mining for them. Get them nice and cheap. The input is very little and sure it can fail but that is why you get in quickly and spend a little time mining them or renting miners or even buying them as soon as they hit the exchange. I don't go splashing out tons and tons of bitcoin. I spend a couple of 10s of $$ on the coin and then just stake it. Normally I have one of the biggest size bags and start off well that way. If the coin fails I lose like what $20? A bit more? But the potential can be $100s or even $1000s it just depends what the point of the coin is. If it has value then you can mostly count on it being stable and profitable.
269  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: So, What did you buy with your bitcoins on Black Friday? on: December 01, 2019, 04:57:36 PM
I didn't buy anything with my bitcoins. I'm not going to spend them now when we are in a bear market. I'll think about it when we at least go above 50% of all time high. Now when we are at 40% it's just a waste of money if we sell.
Doesn't this seem incredibly short sighted. No one is saying spend all your coins today, but imagine if everyone thought that way. No BTC moving at all, just leverage traders going to town on sidechains. Do you think there would still be value in BTC or any crypto?

Not to mention we are also still 2X from the low this year. It doesn't always work out but holding every last Satoshi close and never spending them. Spend some save some = healthy market, and future profits.

Edit: I continued to try and find a way to buy something using my BTC, unfortunately the only thing I needed from Newegg at a price I would pay came from a 3rd party seller who wouldn't accept it.  Tongue  So close.

So unfortunately I can only trade with people for FIAt, but at least I am avoiding currency conversion fees to USD.

I agree with you and I do not understand why not to spend bitcoins? It is a payment process why not just sell your fiat to get the bitcoins and then buy what you need with the bitcoins instead of buying it with fiat. Isn't that the point?

That's sad that you can buy so little. newegg is for people in the US mostly right? It is sad that you have nowhere to spend bitcoin.

I bought a whole lot of games on steam with giftcards I bought with bitcoin. I bought some stuff for my garden and some new seeds I paid eth for that. Netflix and googleplay I pay with bitcoin. I also got some nice deals on an investment on black friday. I also bought like a mug for someone for christmas. (a really cool gamer mug legend of zelda) a few other presents. Whatever you can things of really.
270  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Will Not Be a Medium of Exchange on: November 30, 2019, 08:35:51 PM

Another person talking shit. I spend bitcoin all the time. Stop lying and spreading misinformation. Which third world countries are you talking about that have money that fluctuates like that?
You say you won't spend bitcoin because it will be worth more in the future? Then convert all your fiat into bitcoin because using fiat to buy something is the same as buying bitcoin with the fiat beforehand the only exception is that you are using a superior payment method instead of crappy fiat.

The fact that BTC can be used as a currency doesn't mean it'll ever be used as a widespread medium of exchange. That is what I took the OP's message as, that it won't catch on and be widespread. Of course BTC could buy 'something'. LTC can buy stuff too, and I expect Doge as well. I recall Beancash could be used to buy stuff if willing to jump through some payment hoops -- but I wouldn't exactly say it's going to be an everyday currency used by most people.

If you feel otherwise, that's fine. I simply don't think the volatility issue will really ever be fixed. BTC as 'digital gold' is still good enough, that's at least a real world use.

As for countries with currency issues, Venuzuela comes to mind.

I can buy almost anything I want in my country with bitcoin aside from pay bills and buy food. I use bitcoin more then I use cash or the bank. It is already widespread. You can pay for many things online from many differnt countries. Everything digital I have paid with crypto. That means it is wide spread. The fact it is in africa being used means it is widespread. I have bought so many things with crypto from seeds and garndeing supplies to entire pc setups tables laptops. Shoes, stuff for the kitchen, curtains, eating utensils and everything in between. So there you go there are thousands of real world uses. So stop talking shit. Look at this web site bidorbuy.co.za eeverything there can be paid with bitcoin. Thats an entire market place like Amazon and you tell me it is not widespread.  Tongue Roll Eyes
271  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Don't run for merits! on: November 30, 2019, 08:27:21 PM
Oh.. right yeah. I guess I probably am not. I just say I got my merits refilled. I actually haven't been giving that many merits out. Very ironic *facepalm* I guess I will empty my merits out in the next few days. I have seen a few nice topics and things so there might be some good posts in there too. Ya, you definitely are good with giving merits. More than 1 a day. I think the problem is more people need to do this. Like me for example.
I honestly thought I gave out more merits than that. I think I might have been so used to having none to give that I forgot about it.

I thought only merit sources got more merits. Thank you guys for clearing this up for me. I am guilty I should have given more merits  I think. Now I understand. I probably should already know these things though. Forgive my ignorance, please.  Undecided
272  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Informed is Your Country's Police About Crypto? on: November 30, 2019, 07:07:06 PM
In general, our police are not well informed about anything. They were badly educated about things and loved to harass people about crap like cannabis. Their education about crypto is likely just as bad. Thank god cannabis is legal now. Higher up police will know about it like the cybercrime squads. But if you go make a report in the police station about crypto they won't have a clue what you are talking about. Our cybercrime unit is pretty good so they would know more. Honestly, I don't know exactly how good they are but they seem to be aware of scams and things. Yet online the best way to stop scams is to educate yourself. Prevention is better than protection.
273  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banks Are Never There When You Need Them - That's Why We Need Bitcoin on: November 30, 2019, 06:59:59 PM
Banks don't need to be there for you unless you owe them money. They less likely to care when they not making a profit but they are paid to help you so they must keep you happy if they can.
I had a bad experience with my bank account recently. I was not receiving deposits and it was a pain. I phoned the bank and they told me my account is working fine so who knows. I will have to find out the next time I get out. The point is, it was annoying and I had to rely on someone else. I could not solve this problem myself unlike with crypto which I am totally in control of. I'm telling you as soon as I can start paying for things like bills and food I will never use my bank account again. If I need cash I might still need it though. That is one reason I see the use for a btc ATM otherwise I believe they useless but I know they will not bring btc ATM here.
274  Economy / Micro Earnings / Re: [FREE] FaucetHub Bitcoin Faucet Script - Open your own faucet on: November 29, 2019, 06:57:06 PM
I can't believe I almost missed this script. It's so fresh and basic I like that. Nice spots to place ads and easy to figure out those spots. You also said you added in funcaptcha, I like that. Do you just change the code that you copy-paste for the funcaptcha with the code that funcaptcha gives you? I am still new and learning. There is also Hcaptcha have you used it? What do you think of it compared to funcaptcha?
Funcaptcha has been replaced by a newer one and is a paid-captcha though. I haven't integrated any other captchas than reCaptcha in this script. hCaptcha seems promising but it is a question of time how long it will last.

Is the demo updated too?
Of course, it is.

There is a paid Lottery Add-On for this script available in JaguarBitcoin's shop. Simply choose Simple Faucet Script and pick up the addon.
Demo of the Lottery: https://jaguarbitcoin.com/faucetscripts/simplefaucetscript/lottery

Good stuff. I don't see the point of using google Recaptcha, it doesn't even earn you anything. Plus its google.

owner of this script will probably post a update before faucethub is shutting down Wink
and yes this script works with every other micro payments service you just need a bit of php web development skills.

regards

So you mean I must brush up on my php skills before I start using the new faucets after faucethub? Faucethub made everything much easier. I guess now we have to use the minumim withdraw thing and people have to save up their balane till they reach payout. Which is the entire reason that we used faucethub. Stupid bloodly US laws. But still the owner of faucethub folded. Sad
275  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Would it be realistic for the world to run on cryptocurrencies? on: November 29, 2019, 06:30:04 PM
If people don't understand crypto then honestly maybe it is not for them? I mean you really shouldn't be using things you don't understand and for some reason, some people find it intimidating. They create the problem in their own mind since crypto is actually very easy to understand. I hear what you saying about the government but they can only control so much. They will never know what transactions we are making and to who.
Bitcoin is already accepted worldwide and this a "global currency". I use crypto more than fiat and as far as I am concerned it has already achieved its goal and proved it's value.
276  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Who has entered a shop (non-BTC accepting) and asked if they will accept Crypto? on: November 29, 2019, 06:19:31 PM
Well, I once went with my mom to help me choose a bed and she is so used to me working with and around bitcoin and other crypto she asked the guy there if they accept bitcoin. Of course, he has no control over that and they do not accept bitcoin but I think the more they hear about it the better the chance we have of it being accepted at more places.

I personally tried asking for BTC payments on certain hotels that I've stayed throughout the years. The conversation just usually goes like:

I thought it was pretty damn cool that I even had a chat with some real-life human beings about crypto.  I wouldn't have paid for my food with bitcoin anyway but I was shocked to see that bitcoin symbol on a menu for a restaurant so close to me.

Personally I don't think it is so important for now to pay with bitcoin in local stores. I would certainly ofc, especially when traveling abroad (using other fiat currency).

But for internet payments I think it is the safer and best method. After all, that is an internet money.

Few days ago I bought some games in Steam and a product from Microsoft. I missed the bitcoin payment option, for many reasons:
- safety (as I never like to insert my credit card details online)
- I was paying using another fiat currency, so I lose some money in taxes and fees
- I would like to spend some of my bitcoins lol

I agree with you, I don't think we need bitcoin in shops just yet. Honestly, I want to build up my bitcoin before adoption like that happens. Everything today ic conducted online anyway. I barely ever go into stores unless it is something you need to physcially look at before choosing to make a purchase or not. (think shoes and clothing for example)
277  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Mass adoption of crypto on: November 29, 2019, 05:58:16 PM
Oh gosh. The disillusions you have. They can't even get giving parking and speeding fines right how on earth will the government manage this? Do you have any idea how much manpower doing this will take? There is not enough manpower. If we can't even deal with the war on drugs do you think anyone will be able to monitor crypto? Using your KYC to get a wallet it crazy. My country will tell America to !@#$ right off if they want to start their shit. We not exactly over the moon about America anyway. These are American laws. Only they are insane enough to pursue such crap and hound you down. If this ever happens then we all lose our freedome and people will rebel. I will rebel. I won't sit and take it. They basically taking away your life. I'll fight for my freedom even if I must die for it so good luck to any government passing this shit.
278  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why are so few women buying into Bitcoin? on: November 29, 2019, 05:49:05 PM
I am not sure why. Maybe we just don't know about it. I say some stats saying 30% or something of holders are female. For me the hobbies and subculture I am in most people are female so I am use to being outnumbered.
Wargaming is mostly male I don't know why. Bitcoin also is male but hoenstly I don't know that many people who know about bitcoin besides that it is digital gets mined and is a cryptocurrency.
I did work with a Lady last year for the year so there are females around. The thing is she gave up on her dreams and even took her websites down. I won't give up so easily.
279  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Why would one pay $7K for Bitcoin if he/she can get the same thing for $0.001? on: November 28, 2019, 07:25:49 PM
*double face palm*  Tongue What a silly fellow.

Learn how bitcoin works and how supply and demand works and all your silly questions will be answered. How can you compare a currency to a freaking bread roll?

Are you saying we should pay $1 for the Japanese Yen too? That is pretty much what you are saying. Why would someone pay more for a $1 then 1 yen? Because it's worth more??
Bitcoin is worth more? What is there to understand? It's value comes from supply and demand.

What if the other shops also make their bread rolls 1 million $$ according to you thats fine?

280  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: You think terrorist groups around the world use Cryptos as a means of payment? on: November 28, 2019, 07:15:38 PM
I don't think you can just say that crypto will be seen as something exclusive for terrorist activity. I'm still not convinced it is the best way to fund terrorism. I am sure there are much better ways. I think using cash would be the best way honestly. Crypto still leaves a trail behind and you if your plan is blow shit up then you certainly don't want your source of your equipment and materials to be found out. They will but what the need in an innocent way and bit by bit. You don't go putting a whole bomb together in a week. They will do it over months using many transactions and with that many transactions, someone might suspect something or trace it. If they just use cash or trade then nothing is left behind.
