See: Fundhub.org - pay bitcoins for solving github issues gittip.com - recurring donations to specific github account https://github.com/whit537/www.gittip.com/issues/14 - gittip developers are interested in bitcoin, since credit cards suck ass. I really like this kind of ideas, since I love open source and bitcoin. These could be also a business - just take a cut from the payments.

Great concept! I will try to get couple of my non-bitcoin berlin friends there

I wrote https://fundhub.org/ that can be a way to fund OSS for bitcoin projects. Basically you pledge bitcoins on a ticket/issue that you want to be fixed or implemented. And the person that does the job collects bitcoins. I love the idea, and I think it is much better idea than any kind of fund Also the gittip.com founder has been interested about integrating bitcoin with their system. It is open source project, so anyone can participate. https://github.com/whit537/www.gittip.com/issues/14Personally I like the fundhub-model more, but the process has to be very smooth/fluid so that people can start using it. And it should allow "passive" donations - eg. I can give bitcoins to someone who doesn't even have any knowledge about bitcoins, just a github account. Then he/she could easily redeem the bitcoins via fundhub.org

Emails were not transfering properly due to a minor misconfiguration in email sending. Sorry about that. Make sure you check your localbitcoins.com account in case of missed trades.
One new feature you have probably noticed: you can now reply to your contacts directly by email, no need to login to localbitcoins. However the feature is somewhat experimental - don't count on it too much.

What about being a local exchanger? Selling and buying bitcoins for cash, for profit? That is one side-job opportunity, in a bigger city it could make a nice slice of coins.

Added couple of sponsors: http://forenom.com - furnished apartments, even for short stays. A great choice for your stay if you are coming from elsewhere. Ask them if they accept bitcoin http://bittiraha.fi - Finnish bitcoin community/portal/service.

Added sponsors: The working space is generously provided by Aalto Entrepreneurship Society ( http://aaltoes.fi/) Aalto Venture Garage: http://aaltovg.com/If you want to sponsor the event, and help bringing bitcoin + payments to the next level, send me a message The basic sponsorship package is only 50 eur / 6 BTC, which should bring good visibility to your company.

Traders: when you do p2p trading, before you send the coins, make sure that the receiver understands what you are doing. Ask simple confirmation such as "If I send the coins now, you know how to send them back and forth again?" or "You know that with bitcoin there are no chargebacks?". There have been cases, where the receiver hasn't fully understood the system, and has lost some money because of that. Misconceptions are pretty common.
Happy trading!

I happen to have this bitcoin-24 bitcoin value monitor, and it is reporting funny values. USD Buy at 0, USD sell at 3 USD/BTC.
(Disclaimer: haven't used the actual exchange myself.)

Room77 accepts bitcoin + other cryptocurrencies, silver (gold?), cash etc. No plastic cards Great place, and should definitely receive more promotion. I went there often when I was living in Berlin, hopefully I will be able to move there soon again

Cool. Could it be possible to upload files via torrent URLs?

I stopped following the bitcoin exchange rate actively after a while, I think it doesn't matter that much. However I still check everything bitcoin related all the time

Sorry, what is MVP?
The action I have taken here is to go raise money and supporters via a competition. But if its still too abstract to promote on these forums I guess I won't discuss it here on these forums.
MVP = Minimum viable product. Forget about raising money for now. Because talk is cheap no one is going to give on money just because you have nice ideas. Get something done, even small, later on you should be more able to collect funding as well.

In your case do you need to type the coupon manually ? Can you scan it somehow ? Do you get taken to a URL that already has the coupon as parameter ?
You can type it manually, but most do scan it directly to their smartphones (iPhone/Android).

I think there I'm misunderstanding something here, why would there be an exchange risk ? Does your ATM give out fiat ? Or Bitcoins ?
Bitcoins. With this method, any old ATM machine such as condom vending machine can be used to sell bitcoins. No extra technology needed. It works the exact same if what you give is a funded wallet. You need to trust the person that gives the code or wallet to you until you spend it.
Well, there is one small advantage, and that is basically just ease of use. With instawallet you could do the same, but from end-user viewpoint I doubt that the experience would be the same. I have been demonstrating this ATM + coupon stuff at couple of events, and I would say the process is pretty fluid and newbies understand it pretty quickly.

What? Did I do a bad job describing? Are people confused? Bored? Think this sucks?
TL;DR There is lots of talk her on the forums, and little action. Why not just start with a MVP, and then iterate from there on?

Have you ever thought about the fact that a coupon is functionnally the exact same as a wallet URL ? I mean, if you give out a wallet URL that contains 1 BTC it's the exact same as giving out a 1 BTC easywallet coupon. In both cases you need to trust the one who's giving you the coupon or the URL to not spend the Bitcoin before you. Did I miss something that makes them really different ?
I don't know if you are trolling, but honestly would you implement a bitcoin ATM with printed out instawallet wallets? There is at first the exchange rate risk, and secondly, the redeem function takes the need to trust the seller away - after the coupon is redeemed, the seller can't access the funds.
