101  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S and Ledger Live questions on: August 18, 2018, 10:38:54 AM
It does "support" ERC-20 tokens... In so far that it supports ETH.

It is just that the Ledger Live software does not support the transfer or display of the tokens attached to your ETH address. Instead, you simply use the MyCrypto or MyEtherWallet wallets in conjunction with your Ledger device to access your ETH and ERC-20 tokens.

Yes, I meant Ledger Live software actually. Excuse the indistinctness. I even manage ERC20 tokens with Ledger Nano in combination with MyEtherWallet. However I want to manage everything with one software, that is why I asked when support of ERC20 in Ledger Live is planned.
102  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-08-17] Nvidia Calls Off Cryptocurrency Mining Production Amid Low Earnings on: August 18, 2018, 10:35:42 AM
Graphics chip manufacturing giant Nvidia saw huge growth in late 2017 and throughout most of 2018 as demand for its high-end Graphics Processing Units (GPUs), used for cryptocurrency mining, skyrocketed. The recent bear market has caused demand for GPUs to dwindle, leaving Nvidia to readjust its strategy.

103  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy on: August 17, 2018, 07:48:34 PM
Hello,

Not sure if this is the right place to suggest Waves wallet improvements. I really enjoy to use the wallet, also for other coins like BTC and ETH. It became my main wallet.

One big issue or better say one big irksomeness is the spam assets. I receive at least one (mostly multiple) spam assets a day. When token burn feature was implemented I tried to burn them to keep a better overview of my valuable assets. But I have given up now. There are too many and it costs a lot.

So I came up with the idea to simply filter out the spam tokens. But unfortunately there are only the filter options "spam tokens" and all tokens, but no filter for non-spam tokens. Could you implement such a filter in the upcoming version?

Thank you for your feedback and suggestions. Could you, please place it on Waves forum in a specialized section https://forum.wavesplatform.com/c/ideas?

Best wishes,
Waves Community manager.

Thank you for your feedback signal!
Unfortunately I do not have an account on Waves Forum and I do not want to register my data for a one-time post. If someone has an account there, (s)he may like to duplicate my mail or refer to it. Thanks in advance!
104  Economy / Gambling / Re: FreeBitco.in - Contest with $30,000 in GUARANTEED PRIZES now live! on: August 17, 2018, 07:44:24 PM
A friend of mine wants to start with Bitcoin, but he currently has no money to buy. I am now looking for ways to make it easy for him to start and to find opportunities to earn a few Satoshis. I came across FreeBitco.in. How much can you currently earn there? How much Satoshis do you get per request? And where is the payout limit? Is it recommended for beginners?

Recommended for beginners I'd say yes. Don't expect to make a killing on the site though it's not that much there that you can get free (around $0.02 if you have bad luck - like me - and usually hit the low numbers). It's once every 60 minutes that you get paid. Payout limit is 30000 I think and you have to pay a fee...

Almost, the base reward is $0.002.

You're not going to get much from claiming faucets in the short term but if you keep all those Satoshis they could be worth a lot in a few years from now if history repeats itself. All those of us that have been nearly 5 years have made a good amount.

Buying lottery tickets with free-roll winning has been re-enabled.

Thanks for the answers. That sounds like a fair entry even if the earnings are low for a while. He wants to become familiar with the technology, and if he feels comfortable with it (he's not a tech-savvy person) and has a bit of money, he wants to buy Bitcoin as well. But for the beginning FreeBitco.in is okay for him to start.
105  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Re: Ledger Nano S and Ledger Live questions on: August 17, 2018, 07:40:37 PM
Indeed, I had some problems at the beginning. I had some issues with the operating system, root righs and even the USB cable that was flawed  Cheesy However all these problems have been solved. The issues I mentioned in this thread are not really problems, I just want to know why Ledger Nano is limited to only a certain number of apps or why it does not support ERC20 tokens yet and if there are ways the overcome the limitations. These are not issues that concern only me but every Ledger nano s owner.

1) Why isn't it possible to install more than 3 apps on Ledger Nano S? How can I manage more coins?
What firmware do you have installed? And what coin apps are you installing??!? Huh

One of the more recent firmware updates (Firmware 1.4.1) did a lot of refactoring of the coin apps that are installed to the device... and increased the average number that you could install to something like 8 or 10... and the absolute maximum to something like 18.

Even on the older firmwares, most people would be able to get like 5 or 6.

I'm curious as to which apps you have installed that only allow for 3??!? Shocked Shocked

I have not yet had the opportunity to try Ledger Live wallet, but I think OP have big problems with his Ledger wallet based on number of threads he open recently. As you say it is not true that only 3 apps can be installed on Ledger, I have 5-6 in this moment...

Problem is that some not BTC based coins are not supported by Ledger Live, we can install their apps on device but we need to use other interfaces to manage our coins. However, maybe OP actually found combination of 3 coin apps that take all memory device?
106  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What is better in poker: bluffing or playing only with good cards? on: August 17, 2018, 07:34:53 PM
Statistically, in the long run, you will win playing only good cards. Of course, this also requires a lot of self-discipline, as it can happen that you only get bad hands for a long time. You can do bluffs, but only if you are in position, for example, and if you have not made a name for yourself, that you often bluff, otherwise the effect fizzles out. I played online and offline poker for a while and learned that from really good and successful players.

Poker games I do not have belief on this at all. Most of the poker games are scamming the investors whoever making the decision is feeling right. I love to play with the fair on gambling side but I did not find the many gambling not been trusted with the poker room games.
They seems noticing our moves with the help of various executive and maximum time opponents are not being real person and they only have the computer or their people at there.

It seems like you have no idea about poker at all. Have you ever played or do you just want to write some post here? What you say makes no sense at all. In poker, you do not play against the bank but against other players. The bank collects only a tiny fee per game no matter who wins or loses. That's why it makes no sense at all for the bank to favor anyone.

24hr Volume
4.12983654 SEM
2 orders closed
 Huh

I noticed that too, there might be something wrong with Stocks.Exchange

It must be wrong. Such a low volume is impossible. Either the exchange has some problems or the statistics is wrong. Bots always provide for a certain volume, no matter on which stock exchange.

I had asked this question before but unfortunately without an answer. Which altcoins are planned for the third stage of the airdrop?
108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Germany League - Bundesliga Prediction Thread on: August 17, 2018, 05:03:58 PM
German Cup starts today with the first round. Traditionally there are many duels David against Goliath. For this reason, it is often worthwhile to combine several games. I have just combined three games taking place today, Sunday and Monday.

Drochtersen vs Bayern Munich -> over 4.5 goals @ 1.52
Fürth vs Borussia Dortmund -> victory for Dortmund @ 1.38
Schweinfurt vs Schalke 04 -> over 2.5 goals @ 1.28

Combined odds are 2.68.

what happened? Price dropped so much.

What do you mean? When I came home from work and read your post I was a little worried. Then I took a quick look on coinmarketcap and the price was around 30% up. So I do not understand what you mean (or was there a flash crash that is not indicated on CMC properly?).

113  Bitcoin / Hardware wallets / Ledger Nano S and Ledger Live questions on: August 16, 2018, 06:56:55 PM
I've recently bought a Ledger Nano s. After some struggles at the beginning, I set up the software and hardware successfully and both work fine. However some other questions have been arisen and I hope you can help me

1) Why isn't it possible to install more than 3 apps on Ledger Nano S? How can I manage more coins?

2) Why can I install Stellar on Nano S but can not add Stellar account on Ledger Live although it is listed?

3) When it is planned to support ERC20 tokens on Ledger Live?

115  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Really! Where is the fun at? on: August 16, 2018, 05:47:58 PM
This thread is actually for those who have one way or the other mentioned on this section of the forum about catching fun in online gambling so as not to get addicted, which I am sure I am not the only person who must have come across this.

Not sure if fun is the right term. I think much more that people do not play for fun but out of greed and hope. When it comes to being fun, I think that's still an advanced reason. In reality, everyone hopes to get rich quick by gambling. Many also think that they are smarter than the casino. But the most of them are losing and some are also in addiction.
116  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-08-16] Crypto Wallet Browser Toshi Rebrands to ‘Coinbase Wallet on: August 16, 2018, 05:32:35 PM

117  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: NEM (XEM) Official Thread - 100% New Code - Easy To Use APIs on: August 15, 2018, 07:59:44 PM
Venezuela also announced it wants to launch a central bank for crypto currencies. It will not work the same way as the Petro Dollar project. This is just a desperate act to get foreign currencies in my opinion.

https://www.ccn.com/venezuela-looking-to-launch-a-central-bank-for-cryptocurrencies/

Venezuela is set to begin using its "Petro" Cryptocurrency on the NEM Blockchain as an official accounting unit, according to the country's president. Venezuela will peg Pension and Salary Systems to Petro Cryptocurrency

Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro also announced that the state oil company PDVSA will use the government cryptocurrency "Petro" as an accounting unit starting next Monday - August 20th.

118  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: WAVES - Complete Blockchain ecosystem for a token economy on: August 15, 2018, 07:54:32 PM
Even with the bear market in full force, wavesplatform's blockchain activity is hitting new all-time highs. On Aug 3, the Dex processed little over 76'000 trades!

On average, WAVES is the 7th most active network according to Blocktivity.

http://dev.pywaves.org/txs/

That is a positive sign. Despite the price drop for all cryptos, development speeds up for the major projects including for Waves. I have been there for some time and the release interval has never been so fast. This will pay off when bear market is over and bull market starts again. However I would be interested how much activity is created by the spam tokens I receive almost every day.
119  Economy / Economics / Venezuela Wants to Launch a Central Bank for Cryptocurrencies on: August 15, 2018, 05:29:39 PM
After the blockchain-based Crypto Petro Dollar, the Venezuelan government probably has a new idea to get foreign currency into the country. It wants to set up and build up a central bank for cryptocurrencies. Another crazy idea or does the idea have potential?

120  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-08-15] Is Bitcoin A “Cult”? A Former Paypal CEO Seems To Think So on: August 15, 2018, 05:17:09 PM

A former Paypal CEO’s appearance on CNBC has only cemented this theme, with this legacy market proponent likening crypto to a cult.
