1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are there any altcoins that are independent to Bitcoin? on: April 19, 2018, 09:06:23 AM
I am wondering if there are coins that are independent to the Bitcoin price? Like, if Bitcoin's value increases, the altcoin will not increase at the same time Bitcoin does. Or maybe, I am wrong that the price of Bitcoin doesn't have any effect to the value of altcoins? Please enlighten me with this topic. If there's any coins that are independent, what are the benefits that you can get in investing to that altcoin that you can't get in investing in Bitcoin?
From the fundamentals, a lot of altcoins should have a price pattern that is independent from the Bitcoin's price, since a lot of them have different tech and consensus algorithm. However, from technical analysis, it's possible to see that most altcoins have a similar response to variations in the Bitcoin's price.
If you don't know the tech behind these alts, it's better to hold Bitcoin, since there is a high risk that you can get burned by dumping it.
2  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will 2017 gains ever happen again? on: March 25, 2018, 03:07:05 AM
Your first sentence reveals the level of pessimism that you have. And you probably don't know the properties that make Bitcoin better than any other cryptocurrency out there.

You mention the insane gains that these alts could have brought to you as a reason to be pessimistic about Bitcoin. But the truth is that it shows how undervalued Bitcoin is, since it followed the same level of growth of altcoins that doesn't have any legit use case.
3  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Will bitcoin replace gold? on: March 25, 2018, 02:56:08 AM
Gold in general is no better. The value of gold is nothing more than a result of a global consensus - at the moment everyone agrees to consider gold a measure of value, simply because this measure is in some form or another necessary. If we assume a utopian situation, that tomorrow everyone agrees that gold is not such a measure, then it will be good only for the production of quality wires and trinkets.
The btc is gaining momentum for exactly the same reason - the global consensus towards the btc is constantly being strengthened. In this case, unlike gold, the cue-ball is not only a measure of value, but also a settlement system, and gold is not a competitor for this parameter.
Bitcoin is already a better store of value and medium of exchange, for the many reasons that people talked about here. However, I don't think it will replace gold, because gold has also other applications, in industries that are outside the financial sector.
4  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin reach $ 91,000 by 2020? on: March 25, 2018, 02:38:29 AM
I'm not sure about it, since it would be 10x increase compared to the current price. However, 45k sounds reasonable, since this will be the year of the halving.
5  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is bitcoin digital gold? on: March 20, 2018, 03:55:33 AM
If you understand Proof-of-Work, you'll see that this is a good way to describe Bitcoin.
Just like with gold, anyone can buy a miner to start digging for it. And it has a property that, IMO, is very important for a currency, which is a fixed limit in the supply. You could go beyond, and say that with Bitcoin you can do much more than with gold, since you can send it over the internet without having to rely on third parties.
6  Other / Off-topic / Re: Are you buying bitcoins? Why? on: March 20, 2018, 03:47:13 AM
I'm not buying bitcoin becuase it's very expencive and risky. I am not ready to start investing in btc.
I agree regarding the risks. However, I see no good reason to say that Bitcoin is expensive, especially when you compare Bitcoin's marketcap with the marketcap of other assets.
For short term profits, it may not be a good idea to invest in it. But for long term performance, it will be really difficult to find an asset with more potential than Bitcoin.
7  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: bitcoin prices not rising! should we trade or hold? on: February 01, 2018, 11:48:54 AM
it was predicted that bitcoin prices would fall in the last week of 2017 and rise in the first week of 2018 but none of that has happent rather the price has beet pretty stable around 13500 usd.
what are your opinion on this,is it the time to trade or hold because i dont have enough funds to buy or invest more.
I don't know who said you that Bitcoin would rise at the beginning of 2018, but that person did not do a good analysis.
It had almost 10x growth last year, and a correction would be inevitable. However, I don't think Bitcoin will keep falling for the rest of the year. The recent advancements in Lightning Network are a sign that a lot of good things can happen.
8  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Is trading Bitcoin and other alts still profitable? on: January 11, 2018, 06:41:21 PM
As long as there are price swings, it will continue to be a profitable market. The real question is, profitable for whom? It is no different from any other market, people that manage to perform good analysis or people with insider knowledge are the ones who will be making money in this market.
9  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Will the crypto kittens problem be solved? on: December 08, 2017, 11:43:41 AM
Ethereum network is totally overloaded due to a single game.

How will it be solved?

I think they will solve it. In the worst case scenario they will fork it.

The question is, what is their plan to go mainstream? What will happen when they have thousands of games in their network?
10  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: When will I get my Bitcoin gold ? on: November 18, 2017, 04:52:24 PM
Is not the information in the website? If not, I guess the support can tell you.

No, they do not have any support system.
hum... quite strange when there is a centralized company behind it. I guess you can find one or more contacts if you google it.

12  Economy / Web Wallets / Re: How safe are my bitcoin on blockchain.info? on: November 04, 2017, 09:15:00 PM
It is the most popular wallet, and I had no problem using it in the past. However, I've often heard, from reputable sources, that they have serious safety problems, which made me look for better alternatives.
13  Economy / Economics / Re: Why the world really needs virtual currencies on: October 03, 2017, 10:37:31 PM
Yeah, some people do not understand the state that things can get when this credit bubble burst. Governments are already even thinking about a cashless society, think how crazy this can be.

Technically we are in cashless society in some way, usage of plactic card is all day need for almost everywhere, not to mentioned that everyday we see many transfers from one country to another. So this problems is mainly solved.

For bitcoin to be virtual currency this could be great idea. He has everything settled and running no need to be in some preparation, maybe that why they dont like it, cuz they can control it, i mean on governments.
Well, actually there is a problem being created, because there is something called "fractional-reserve banking", which allows banks to create money out of thin air.

This has been happening for a long time, and that means that most of the money that banks say their customers own does not actually exist in their safes. Now think about it... imagine when someday a large number of people decide to cash out their money from the banks and they see there is nothing there. It will be a chaos.

Having cryptocurrencies, silver and gold is the best thing you can do to save yourself.
15  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can you predict what the future hold for digital currencies ? BTC specifically on: September 17, 2017, 10:47:42 PM
If you ask me about the future of Bitcoin, I think at some point there will be not enough bitcoins for all the people on the planet. You will be lucky if you have a whole Bitcoin. Most people will have fractions of a Bitcoin.

By the law of supply and demand, you know what it means for the price...
16  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Where would society be without the internet? on: September 03, 2017, 02:54:47 PM
We are living without hatred, no cyber bullying, no porn sites, less crime on exposing nude photos. Every family manages their family day going on a trip or having reunion. And our childhood days might be more happier than today.

And of course no bitcoin  ,if our society is out of internet for sure we do not know about this forum and also the bitcoin, im glad that i already know the bitcoin , i have future here, not only me we all can learn about bitcoin because of internet.
I agree. We won't be able to explore more about bitcoin. Bitcoin has been very helpful to me since the profit that I get from different campaigns are the money that I use for me and my family's daily living expenses.
Not only things like Bitcoin wouldn't be possible, but also different services and applications that make things to run faster and more efficiently around the world, such as communication apps, GPS, e-mail services and other things that connect the world.
17  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is it too late to buy bitcoin? on: August 19, 2017, 09:42:49 PM
It is never too late to buy bitcoin!!

What do you mean by asking this question? Do you mean is it too late to buy in at 4.2K USD and sell for 5k USD in the same week? I  don't understand what your question is exactly.

In the long run the having a free choice is what matters in using Crypto for what we need to do in our life. The best time to buy is now!
Yes,the OP definitely mean is it too late to buy or invest into bitcoin when the price is at the $4000-4500 range. But one thing I study concern the price movement is that the price per bitcoin usually dump by $200 or more when it weekend and my advice to those who really want to make some $$ through bitcoin is to buy or make some invest when it weekend before the market open for the business day.
Well, it's like they say, you buy the dip.

However, if you have a lot of money to invest, and are willing to wait a few years to see the return on your investment, for me Bitcoin is still a great investment, even being a little over $ 4000.
18  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin Cash is Neither "Bitcoin" nor "Cash!" on: August 19, 2017, 09:34:24 PM
And it looks like traders got bored and bought it anyway.
19  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin heading to $4,000 on: August 05, 2017, 08:19:02 AM
That would be beautiful, and well deserved for the best storage of value in the world.
20  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: August 1, Bitcoin will Ends? on: June 23, 2017, 12:52:20 PM
Could you elaborate on your idea? AFAIK, in recent days have become great the chances that Bitcoin will receive segwit without the need of a chain split.
