201  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: How much heat a rig dissipate ? on: July 19, 2013, 11:13:25 PM

The rigs will have 3 Sapphire 7950, any of latests intel cores and one 700w 80+ PSU.

Good luck running 3x7950 off a 700W PSU.  I run 2x7950 and it's using ~700W at the wall, that's using a 1000W Zalman PSU.  CPU is a i3-3225, SSD drive, 2x4GB RAM, nothing else.

See: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=240670.0

Don't just look at it that way.....
Find the PSU sweet spot... all switched mode PSU have an efficiency curve that looks like an umbrella(yep even the bullshit 80's)
You need to be at the 'top' of the umbrella.. doing so can save you 10-15% of your power requirements...

202  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Lets have some fun!! Brainwallet with 1btc. You crack it, its yours. FREE BTC on: July 19, 2013, 11:08:35 PM
Thats how it works.....
Just go read the "watch tower".... not a mention about god until the last few paragraphs when they have sucked you in.......
Lets not forget just how many wars these people have started and how many witches  they burned.

K.. Forget burning hippies, thats a good thing.....
203  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Server power connecter. on: July 19, 2013, 10:30:08 PM

Looks like you'd need 3-4 more pieces to get one of these working. I guess I'll just buy a server that has the normal AC computer connector.

Looks like you don't know what you are doing........
204  Bitcoin / Mining speculation / Re: Asicminer USB Erupters...how do they even make sense? on: July 19, 2013, 09:01:09 AM
I ran several profitability calculators, and even at $85 cost and free electricity, these units don't seem to make any sense.

Even if you consider selling your GPU's, not sure it's a wise strategy to invest cold BTC or Cash to buy Erupters.

By the time they breakeven, they'll be yielding so little profit to even justify the attention to keep them running...and that's assuming they'll survive 10+ months of non-stop mining.

It's more like giving Asicminer an interest-free loan, or betting BTC will be >$500 in next two months, or a combination of both.

you are not thinking like a bitcoin miner as such you should not be on the forum(which specializes in all manners of scammer)

I will give you a Quick example.

1.Setup a group buy.... Get the  Block erupts shipped to you, mine like a bitch for 2 days....under the guise of 'testing' (you mine at >100GH/s)
Finally ship out the devices to all the suckers that fell for the group buy... (they get to be the bitch that maintains the difficulty you set...)

2. Post on Ebay with a price 5* what you paid, just say you saw Jesus or better yet Mary appear on the cover.... and watch the cash roll in.

3. Produce ASICS, sell at 6000% what they cost, use that to fund your next scam.

It is all a matter of how big you think.... fortune favours the bold ...
205  Economy / Computer hardware / Re: Any interest in a 20-port USB hub for K1 / Erupters? on: July 19, 2013, 08:32:38 AM
Hmm, why don't just use all things you have around in the house?
I have an Netbook lying around doing nothing = 3 ports
PC (24/7 on): 15 slots
PC (24/7 on): 7 slots

And if you use such things, you dont even need to spend 50$ on a Pi + 100$ on USB Hubs, you have to think economical, not what looks best.
If i'd had 20 Erupters, I'd jst use up all the USB ports I currently have, and not spend 100$ on hubs.. (It saves alot of ROI)

Low power usage is one of the big things with these.  If every computer is on kills lower power, and profit.

you will regret that statement in winter.... when the device is loosing so much money, you cannot even offset the loss against its heating value.....
206  Economy / Auctions / Re: KNCMiners Jupiter: Order slot 1180, guaranteed top 500 queue place on: July 19, 2013, 08:25:46 AM
And for double the price you loose the option of a warranty.........
So... lets hope nothing happens to it in the first 5 years.......
207  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: Upgrading a 3.5A adaptor on a USB hub on: July 19, 2013, 06:49:33 AM
Is this possible?  I have a 10-port USB hub that can only hold 6 miners.  If I upgrade to a higher amperage adapter (6A?), I should theoretically be able to support 10 USB miners right?

Has this been done around here?

It is irrelevant...... a device draws the current that can pass related to the resistance, not what might be available.

So even if you connect it to a 5v 100A supply... it will not blow up.. UNLESS you try to pull more current than the copper will support. (thats why your toaster does not explode when you connect it to the power grid)

That is to say... you would be advised to open it and look at the power distribution tracks. if they are nice and wide.. then you will be fine... BUT if the power distribution tracks have been designed for
less then you have a problem.

Go look in IPC-D-275

Basically for 1oz copper @ 6A the power traces MUST be ~4mm wide... or have additional solder on them....

or go google for "pcb copper requirements  for current".
208  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: July 19, 2013, 06:36:57 AM

I think the 7 day rule only applied to the earliest pre-orders. All current orders are queued by date of payment. I don't think your order is even in the queue until you pay.

mm, i think probably  i'll cancel the order  Smiley

i was struggling because i didn't placed the order early but this make my choice easy

i will evaluate a purchase when they will release the new miners, having a clear frame about shipping time behaviour and how things will evolve

The difficulty increase slows as it grows, think of it this way, for the difficulty to double from the point it's at now, all the asics that are in the wild right now will need to double (plus more to cover the gpus and fpgas) that's a lot of asics. So basically, the difference between getting it week 1 vs week 6, really isn't going to make that big a difference, nothing like week 1 vs week 6 for the avalon batch 1.

BFL just announced they plan on being caught up by late september, so if you ordered in May, June, you might get it by September, KNC? October. So pay up, get with the new world order of ASICS, it's awesome over here ;-)

Hmmm..... following that logic...  'Theo'  stated that I would have my order at the end of Jan or was it Feb.. Mar... April... May.......
I also put off expanding my FPGA kit, because it would be irrelevant with ASICS.
As it was .. I could have had a clear 7 months extra income.

I'll stick with a partial BFL ,because IF they DO ship before EOF Sep.. it still allows payback on the kit, ready to sell & repurchase in 2014.
If they don't ship then the  KNC should cover it, and I've just given BFL an interest free loan for ~10 months.

But put it this way.... IF BFL does NOT bulk ship..and soon, then there is a danger the company may tank under the demand for refunds and chargebacks.... They also do not have a next gen., to counter the incoming equipment in 2014 because they have been far too busy sorting out the current F fest...
209  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Mining (Altcoins) / Re: Swedish ASIC miner company kncminer.com on: July 19, 2013, 04:10:21 AM
Well BFL gets one more month to ship my kit.
At which point I ask for a 50% refund to pay for my KNCminer equipment on order....
Because if BFL don't ship in the next month.... Then NO WAY are they going to clear all orders by September 2013 as promised by  'Theo'.
I know the company KNC are working with... and they are WAY more likely to deliver...

I'm of the mind that I have been very fair to BFL.
210  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MyBitcoin has started spending our stolen coins on: July 19, 2013, 03:52:34 AM
You don't NEED to give MTgox your details if you pull out BTC...

So all they have to do is 'trade' pull out.... put back in..'trade'.... pull out.. put back in.. 'trade', all to different accounts.
Then Finally  start re-trading back to USD.

Mtgox will act a a complex mixing service purely because of the number of clients it has..., and that is before they even begin to use other external mixing services....
211  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / Re: New Attack Vector on: July 18, 2013, 03:37:09 AM
stop writing code, and sit down and make a standard. Its not that hard, nobody just wants to do it because they are lazy bastard who like to code crap code, instead of doing things the right way.
They don't strike me like people who like to write code Smiley
And I guess you never tried to describe what a code does, in a human readable language.
Otherwise you would know that it's impossible.

if you can't describe what your code does, you should stop writing it.
not, if you still understand what it does.
if the human readable language is not able to express the real meaning of C, why would anyone who knows C limit his further lexical possibilities? Smiley

If you cannot explain something in a simple language.. then the truth is , that you  are only fooling yourself and just don't understand it....

212  Bitcoin / Development & Technical Discussion / tools for writing to the bitcoin chain on: July 18, 2013, 01:30:50 AM
Hi,

I'm looking for any info related to "tools for writing to the bitcoin chain" in-particular something that can be used to assemble scripts.
213  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Technical Support / Re: OSX "Accept incoming connections" dialogue with startup of Bitcoin-QT and Armory on: July 18, 2013, 12:32:35 AM
Hi,

I would venture a guess that I am not alone here...

Every single time I startup either Bitcoin-QT or Armory on my iMac (OSX 10.8.4) my helpful firewall asks me

Quote
"Do you want the application “python”/"Bitcoin-QT" to accept incoming network connections?"

So, you might think that I could hit allow and this would add it to the allowed list... Well it does, however unfortunately this does not prevent the dialogue box with the next restart of the app(s)...

I have tried most things I can think of; removing the app(s) and re-installing, did not work. Finding (backing up) and deleting the plist files for the app(s), removing them from the firewall 'accepted' list, and then opening the apps again and adding manually to the firewall, did not work. Finding the UNIX executables (inside the .app files) and adding these to the firewall allow prefs, did not work either...

So I am out of ideas?? Also, before someone says it, I want to keep my firewall active; I know I could turn it off to lose the dialogues, all I really want to do is add these apps to the accept list.

Any help/ideas appreciated.

Thanks

This is EXACTLY what got google and android into a mess....... Validating an application at the start , then giving it free reign over the system after that....

You running your OSX with admin privs?

214  Other / Meta / Re: Temporary Ban for Press Guideline Violators on: July 17, 2013, 03:11:51 AM
I believe I should be given the power to temporary ban people for 3 days for not following guideline, especially after not fixing their shit after I give a nasty reply and a nasty PM.

I command you to go forth and free your people from the land of Egypt instead.....
215  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: [New Bounty] 6BTC for PrimeCoin CUDA miner! on: July 17, 2013, 01:01:45 AM
Or you could just go onto the research site and pull down the data for and including the first 17 million  digit primes....

Then use that as a 'feeder' mechanism....

Being able to be "born again" is a con-mans wet dream, complete absolution from your past crimes.....
you have to ask yourself what sort of group would come up with such a concept.....

The great thing about Crypto currencies is that.... There is a new one every day....

Still plenty of time to jump under that band wagon....
218  Other / CPU/GPU Bitcoin mining hardware / Re: How much heat a rig dissipate ? on: July 16, 2013, 10:57:55 AM
Really there should be no need for aircon.
Design your environment correctly, pull out hot air from top of roof space, bring cold air in bottom and try to limit the volume, glass/ metal box made double/triple height size of equipment.

Anything else is just pissing into the wind.... making the utility company rich.......
219  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: U.S. bank closing all of my deposit accounts because of bitcoins on: July 15, 2013, 12:39:48 AM

Its called money laundering...... you need a license and a clear  COC

What??? Arbitrage does not, in any way, equal money laundering. Christ, has everyone been brainwashed?

This was not a guy trading a 'few' coins he was moving significant amounts of money.

I have a number of totally legit companies, there are many laws.. for which I  employ accountants and lawyers, because they are EXPERTS in their field.
I looked at opening Bitcoin trading and an exchange, I consulted these experts, we discussed  manual/automated buy and sell/ offshoring amongst other methods.

It is considered MONEY LAUNDERING..... UNLESS you have the correct licenses in place.
