just an idea to throw out there, since people are always worried about inflation getting out of control. my thought is that adding something like big tx fees that get auto burned to help keep the money supply down it would be cool... BALLS does 15 coins per transaction
That was being discussed in irc.. Expect something like that in the new update as we still have to reached conclusion what amount will be suitable.. Ideas and suggestion from community are wide open options as we all are doing some volunteer works to get this thing moving forward now.
1022  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitBean | Innovative PoS | Scalability | No IPO | No premine on: February 24, 2015, 11:36:11 PM
considering usually when this happens to a new coin the price would have probably been down to 5 sats by now, I think it's safe to say theres some good support for the community takeover Smiley
I was surprised too.. Usually when coin is about to die price goes to 1 satoshi and no buy support at all but we still have nice buy support from people even after this whole mess.

it might do a lot better with the right members behind it as a community takeover then it would have done with a anon/newb dev anyways... not a chance of dumping mine Kiss
+1
We are moving forward. Expect new announcement under new development very soon  Smiley

I wouldn't consider not posting for 24 hours = inactive. That is idiotic

I'm still buying very Cheap Coins!!
Well, i dont consider that inactive as well but you gotta get dev message and his last message was he failed the update and he is a failure. Since then nothing bro. Thats what dev said as his last words in PM to Tuwie and we been discussing this things since yesterday in irc.

Its a hard reality so dont consider this as a FUD.
1029  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitBean | Innovative PoS | Scalability | No IPO | No premine on: February 24, 2015, 07:53:59 PM
I want to be clear and straightforward with everyone regarding the state of BitBean.

YES, the dev has abandoned us it appears.  He tried to push an update two days ago, which had a checkpoint that had already passed, along with other issues.

This update would have caused multiple forks in the network.

The Dev did push  revert changes to github to fix the issue and go back to the previous version.

As of that point, he has not responded to any messages, and has removed himself from the coin.

I will be updating more later today as I discuss some things with a few other community members and we decide a full course of action.

If you have any questions, please feel free to shoot me a PM or hit me up on IRC

Thanks

Tuwie

nice FUD to buy Bean :-D

Dev is not responding 1 day lol Smiley

I hope your buy orders get filled :-D
It was not FUD, Tuwie is community manager so he is telling all truth. Join in irc #bitbean channel and find out more... There going to be a community takeover and its already on the way. Sad to tell you this but this is going to be a reality soon

So, I got my wallet working, send some BitBean there, and this morning it was staking. I found a Block and was awarded 1000 BitBean, cool. Without having done anything, a few hours later I get the message that I am not staking because I don't have any mature coins. Is this normal, do my coins that were staking become immature once the mining proceeds confirm, or did something go wrong? Thanks.
May be your all balance is in staking and not in spendable balance?  join irc #bitbean and ask there you ll get quick reply from helpful people
1031  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitBean | Innovative PoS | Scalability | No IPO | No premine on: February 24, 2015, 05:09:50 PM
Steady staking  Cool

Is there a cap on number of coins that can be mined? Will the blocks ever half or anything? What will be the total number of coins?

Does anyone know this?
I heard something like 50billions, read somewhere but its not clear yet. I am not confident on that number. We will have a code review and necessary changes from our community member in coming days. Dev hasnt been online since yesterday so im letting you all guys know we in irc are talking about creating website and do some promotion about this coin in coming days and we will shortly setup a donation address if anyone like to donate for the development and keep moving. This is going to be a community effort in full.

If you were in irc yesterday you probably knew already dev was trying to push wallet update yesterday and because something didnt work while on update, dev revert changes in his code. You can see that changes in bitbean git if you wanna look for yourself, since then we havent heard anything from dev and still waiting.

What are the chances of that happening on a dual core celeron processor 2.16gh.? If that matters even. Sorry for all the questions I am extremely new to all of this.
It depends more on the amount of coins you are staking.

700 thousand. Im trying to figure out if it is even worth it to leave the wallet open with the rerros I mentioned before. Maybe Ill leave it on while im sleeping
What are you talking? You got a good chance to hit several blocks per day with that much amount Smiley
1037  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] BitBean | Innovative PoS | Scalability | No IPO | No premine on: February 23, 2015, 01:21:58 PM

You're staking more efficient than I am. I only got 5.000 coins by staking in 3 days  Grin.
Haha that's not bad too at least you are staking.. My wallet is little heavier than yours i think so its fighting to get POS blocks every 10 mins or so and trying to beat you right there  Grin

I'm relatively new to all this, have not set up config file. Now I hear myself saying that...
Are there any wallets that you dont have to set up config.. why make it more difficult for new people/ the layman.?
If so you ll need a .conf file to put inside your appdata%roaming%BitBean folder and start wallet.. Check op, there is conf file dev posted, just download and set that for now.. Dev is working for wallet update with permanent nodes where you dont need .conf file but will connect automatically without doing anything.

Wallet update might be coming soon, for now manage it with configuration file.  Smiley

I cannot get my wallet to connect. Do I have to mess with an nfo file or something any help would be awesome
It suddenly stopped getting connection or what? Are you using .conf file?
