Hello fellow Arionum miners !

-- Ariocppminer v0.9.8 now available (CPU miner) --

* fix invalid shares after network forked again at block 80460, removing masternode blocks

sources / readme:
https://bitbucket.org/cryptogone/ariocppminer/

v0.9.8 binaries:
https://bitbucket.org/cryptogone/ariocppminer/downloads/

Please do not use v0.9.7 anymore and upgrade to v0.9.8 !!

Happy mining !

Great, testing it now on aropool.com with an i7, however i think aropool is to hard for me now (0 shares in 1 hour) till the gpu version from you comes out.
i will test it now on aro.cool

they pull the move that all shitcoins make:  start masternodes.
and fail them Grin

It's frustrating considering it doesn't have to go that way. If the devs would prune the growth and care for the projects with desire for them to succeed they probably would succeed.

Comparing profitability between ARO coin, ELI and LEMON coin, up until recently believe it or not LEMONcoin was the winner. Now that the halvening has occurred I'll be checking ARO again. ELI was annoying as it didn't have the ability to start mining within the wallet. Bitcoin core and the codes copied from that all pretty much have that setgenerate true option there - the ones that don't are frustrating if they don't have a nice 'mine now' button right in the wallet. If I wanted to have a command based miner and a separate wallet I'd use ethereum, lol. The nice thing about these cpu coins is that they can be totally standalone independent machines if set up 'properly.'

Enough rant for now - How is mining after the fork?
Any chance of a listing on Cryptopia?

I advise to go on discord, high activity there in this coin section, many progress is going on. Many developers are busy with different things for Arionum, different miners, different sites, many options. It's good to see that many developers are interested in Arionum and all the options this coin brings to the cryptoworld. What i see what is going on and already possible, i never ever saw this in the last 8 years on another coin.

First i tought; why not put all the messages in bitcointalk, however i understand now why they use discord.. To many progress to drop everything in this topic.

Mining will be great, they are testing some different mining tools.
Those mining tools will do CPU and GPU mining, depends on the block were we are; Masternode Block (pure for Masternode owners), CPU block and GPU block. It's a totally new mining system what seems to be working very nice.
There were issues about the nodes, some nodes where old what gave a incorrect block count number. This seems to be fixed or almost fixed. Miners will be released between today and the end of this week. I tought today there will be already a good CPU/GPU block miner.
This mining system; 3 different ways to mine, is very nice because everybody can start mining and get there coins. You dont have to fight against big GPU rigs because there is also a CPU block running.
So after the Masternode block is found, it switch automatic to the CPU block for CPU miners, when this one is found it switch to GPU block for the gpu miners. Fun thing is, also with ur CPU u will help on the GPU block so u get also a rewards for helping on the GPU block.

About cryptopia or exchanges i dont know anything, first let this fork work nice inclusive the miners. After u can send ur code to exchanges (but the code must be perfect before in my eyes..).
Only thing i know about cryptopia is that the activity there get less every day, volumes there are getting lower and lower day by day. Mercatox seems to be much bigger already then Cryptopia. However, i also like Cryptopia and the team behind it.

This coin is an absolute mess.  Mined it for a few weeks and held because I thought it looked promising.  Turns out its just another shitcoin;  You have a pool run by the devs that has nearly 100% of the hashrate and rewards the big miners that find blocks, effectively cutting your earnings down to 70%.  Then you have this old, hacked together mining software.  And before they work on improving pools, miners, exchanges, etc, they pull the move that all shitcoins make:  start masternodes.

I think ur typing in the wrong topic, if not, please just go fud in another random topic. Ur brainless reaction has nothing to do with this coin..
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ARO] | Arionum | CPU+GPU+Masternode | PHP Based |Decentralized Revolution on: August 10, 2018, 03:46:10 PM
New CPU/GPU miners for Win?

I have watched this project before, but became interested in Yenten. What caused the need for a fork? I missed that information. Can someone explain or give a link where I can read about it?

Shortly: decentralization threatened by huuuuge solo-miner, (plus this one was dumping like crazy, constantly crashing down the value), best solution for now has been found by changing the mining algorithm 33% / 33% / 33%, so that 33% of the mining rewards goes to CPU mining, 33% to GPU mining, and 33% to Masternodes (which are a brand new addition too ^^). Masternodes will also be used in the voting system. That's why that fork happened, just to try keeping the project as decentralized as possible Smiley

Indeed! Also: how more miners we have, how less coins 1 person can get.

225  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ARO] | Arionum | CPU | PHP Based | Decentralized Revolution on: August 10, 2018, 03:30:04 PM

Some information about the upcoming Arionum updates:
- There will be a hard fork at block 80.000 which will update the mining system and will implement the alias system.
- The development has been finished on both mining and the alias system. Currently they are undergoing tests.
- The mining system will be changed to a hybrid mining system in which 1 block is given to CPU miners, 1 to GPU and 1 to masternode staking.
- Masternodes will be implemented starting block 80.000
- To create a masternode you will need 100.000 ARO and you will lock those funds as colateral for minimum 3+1 months.
- The masternodes will be winning blocks based on a Proof of Stake system.
- There is no limit on the number of the total masternodes.
- The masternodes will be used for the project governance and for taking decisions regarding the Arionum blockchain. For example, voting for new features etc (implemented at a later stage)
- The masternodes will be used for handling asset transactions (implemented at a later stage)
- It's possible to implement some sort of sidechain for much faster transactions using the masternodes, at a later date.
- We have implemented a bootstrapping feature to have the nodes do the initial sync much faster.

Here again the info about this fork

How about the GUI wallet, will it work after the fork?

I got the new GUI wallet since a few days, as what i know this is the version what i can also use after the fork. Alias system will be automatic activated after the fork.
Also i read here (thought overlode told it..) if u dont want to use the alias system and the new options, then u dont need to update the gui wallet.

i already updated and the update went easy, just install and that's it.

*10 blocks to go!

Gimme that AMD GPU miner ARODEV Cheesy

The guide looks easy, great!

You guys are awesome, my compliments about all the progress you guys made and my compliments for the future plans.

Good job  Grin

I hope we will get an good working AMD GPU miner today, i want to test it tonight when i got home from work.
I guess also the CPU miners need to get updated, or are there no changes in the ALGO?
228  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ARO] | Arionum | CPU+GPU+Masternode | PHP Based |Decentralized Revolution on: August 10, 2018, 11:13:28 AM
I want to know if you can dig a mine with this coin, with what machine, with what algorithm,
And when will it be listed on the exchanges? And what exchanges is the project intended to be listed?

You can use CPU and GPU currently, with the hard fork bringing improvements in speed to both of these. After the hard fork, Masternodes will also be available.

The algorithm is uses is argon2.

We are already listed on Mercatox exchange and CoinMarketCap with a view to list on a bigger exchange in the very near future.

YEah i saw dann got an miner ready (not tested) on github.

We are almost there, fingers crossed for a smooth fork bro!
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ARO] | Arionum | CPU+GPU+Masternode | PHP Based |Decentralized Revolution on: August 10, 2018, 06:03:12 AM
The problem with the AMD miner is that AMD itself does not do well with memory calculations
Are you sure?

When I say memory calculations, it's more to do with the algorithm, argon2. AMD just doesn't seem to perform as well as Nvidia
Well most of time it depends on the quality of the miner.
In the begin from ETH u should use nvidia, well the amd miners working at the same level or even beter now.
Also at the begin from the X** algo and XEVAN, AMD was pretty better with the SGminer in compare with CCminer for NVIDIA. Now CCminer is much beter then SGminer.. On all those coins the biggest changemaker is the miner.

So i hope that somebody inside Arionum can do a nice job for the AMD GPU miner.

Anyway, fork is comming soon! 101 blocks to go! I guess this fork will be today (well here its 8:00 in the morning now so).

Edit: i saw the last few days the mining rewards are 1/3 in compare the days before. Is this because of an growing netspeed or? Ah and i see the price is start to grow, not bad at all

snip

Well first of all i dont solo mine, i just use an pool.

No when solo mine you must not use stratum+tcp, an stratum part u need to setup what also need a lil knownledge.
So the mining adres should be: ip:port (127.0.0.1:port)

Your wallet config should be look like this:
Code:

rpcuser=JoenNL
rpcpassword=X
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=420
server=1
listen=1
daemon=1
Then JoenNL is the user/workername (dont use: JoenNL.1 - JoenNL.GPU or something, just use: JoenNL)
Password: X
server ip: 127.0.0.1:port

In my eyes: for the coin and for the safety its beter to mine on an pool (spread the hashes) instead of put an big rig into solo mine.

This right here is pure gold.   Most people and how-to's kinda graze over the necessity of these settings and either tell you to leave them alone in the json;  or don't even mention what they really do.

I have yet to mine to any of my wallets in the past;  so this is a nice bit of info in my eyes....  I know for as long as ive been doing this, I should have known this already...   but i have always been using places like xpool/zpool historically... and avoided "wallets" for any non-major coin like the plague.

Ill get it set up and give it a whirl.

my hashrate isn't insane; (rather mundane) but I would rather point my gear to my internal addresses to mine;  than to point it to a pool.   I wanna do the full-solo on this one... just because.

Do you know what dictates the address that the mined earnings go to by the wallet?  or is it automatically a new address for each signed block?

FYI;  I have added the nodes and everything;  but can't get past either 50% or 75% synced....

*edit* FYI;  I corrected some typos in my quote for others....

now im getting somewhere:
[2018-08-09 05:16:22] NVAPI GPU monitoring enabled.
[2018-08-09 05:16:22] 1 miner thread started, using 'xevan' algorithm.
[2018-08-09 05:16:22] JSON-RPC call failed: Method not found
[2018-08-09 05:16:22] get_work failed, retry after 30 seconds

looks like ill need to set up a stratum host.   Looks like a few firsts on this.   But worth it for the know-how in my eyes.

*double edit*
A bit later, and presto.   Wallet seems like its all synced (no progress bar).  Put on setgenerate true;  and ~25Kh off my i3 its currently running on.

Turns out I don't want to dive into node.js;  so I am looking at takng my Dell Precision R5500 sporting 2x SLAED and 64Gb ECC that is literally just sitting here doing nothing but collecting dust at the ranch (no, literally....), and ill bring it to where my .com is hosted and plug it in.....

Gonna jump down the rabbit hole and install yiimp.... It has room for GPU's and HDD's galore... so I may go full ham on it and set up my own full-on solo pool.    It seems easy enough to set up all the API keys and configs for autoexchange when all is said and done;  so If I decide to add any old wallet after;  I just need to have HDD space considerations, and do some quick reconfigs.

Right this second I am doing a trial run remotely via ssh on a Pi that's hooked up in that location; and so far;  its going rather smoothly... I may have a yiimp web admin interface to play with shortly.

I do see why you recommended just using a pool;  but I have the gear;  and the knowhow to get it done or figure it out.... and if I run into trouble;  I am always willing to ask or dig into some reference materials.
ccminer just flat out doesn't speak the type of work requests that wallets do.... sgminer still has the support;  but what's the point since AMD cards fall way short on these types of algos.

Im the kind of guy who runs his network connections under at least 3 layers of VPN tunnels.   They are all my own;  and they all do their job... but all of them serve a special and independent purpose primarily.  Secondarily it's the only way I can truly get all of my devices;  everywhere;  to be able to talk to each other as if they were on the same network.  (the wonder of a common TUN).  This just makes several devices end up encapsulated under at least 3 parallel encrypted connections.  (my middle finger to the legal limit of encryption you are allowed to apply to a datastream)

I dont think u need an stratum.. But are you using stratum+tcp in ur miner.bat file? This because u must delete all those stratum+tcp lines.
As u can see in the miner u can also do setgenerate true, this is cpu solo mining. At this moment u dont have a stratum, so there is no reason for you to create a stratum.

Oh gosh i dont care about sharing information, i'm glad i am helping you into the right direction.

1. your problem was the wallet conf file, u didnt knew what to enter and what ports. Last problem about this was the correct port. So if you change the port in the wallet .conf u must also change the port in the miner.bat file
2. Check if the ports are correct in both files
3. what GPU are u using? Are u even be able to gpu mine?
4. how does ur miner.bat looks like?

Edit, this is the XEVAN BITSEND conf, can be that u need this, change ip from 2 -> 1 and the ports:
Code:
rpcuser=worker
rpcpassword=x
rpcallowip=127.0.0.2
bind=127.0.0.1
p2pport=8801
rpcport=9998
rpcconnect=127.0.0.2
daemon=1
listen=1

Joen;  just a slight bit of clarity for me;  are you using it to mine to a stratun+tcp://<ip>:<port>?   or just <ip>:<port>?

And I assume user/pass are completely ignored....

Seems easy enough to try once my wallet finishes syncing.

*edit*  cand find the port settings in the console;  and the hello.conf is blank... so no template to go off of... Mick?

*edit again* I may have found the answer in my log file:

2018-08-08 07:47:36 CDBEnv::Open: LogDir=C:\Users\<hidden>\database ErrorFile=C:\Users\<hidden>\hello\db.log
2018-08-08 07:47:36 Bound to [::]:44545

Probably either 44545 or 54623.   Probably got $ to bet on either of those =)

if it becomes necessary;  ill just modify the source when I go to install it on one of my linux boxes sitting on my .com.

Hey guys!

Does somebody have an good XEVAN AMD GPU miner? I tested several sgminers but they all get stucked (sick-death) after a few minutes or a few hours.
I tested the ''standard'' sgminer, tested xevan kernel and xevan-mod kernel, tested the avermore version and more. But all those sgminers really sucks.

Tested on standard clocks, overvolt and undervolt result always the same. Temps are fine (around the 70 degrees). Also tested with an ''clean'' conf results are always the same with the sgminers i tested.

*avermore miner is tricky anyway, i found out that he keep mining but the miner switch to X16 - ravencoin on the address from an dev instead of let the gpu get sick-death...

So any tips are welcome Smiley

AMD has always been rather unoptimized for xevan from what I can gather.   I couldn't get much hashrate out of the one I have tried on.   xevan has always been more of a nvidia friendly card.... and it seems tis carries over to many of the cpu coins that take quite a while to be adapted to a GPU;  nvidias always see more development.   All of the AMD guys have really beat all over ETH/equihash... so they never really considered anything else or pushed for better results out of the miner apps for all the other algos.

How are you mining to your wallet with your gpu?  did you set up a personal pool server for it?

Ive been wanting to do this, and have a bit of hashrate I can toss at the network if I can configure it in a sane/somewhat easy manner.   I have several linux boxes at my disposal....

Yeah all those coins starting with an X sucks for AMD (X11 etc, Xevan haha) because we can (for what i know) only use SGminer, and SGminer Sucks Grants.

Solo mining? You dont need to set a pool for this, you need to add lines to ur wallet conf. I dont know what port SIRAJ is using, but this is always the way how to solo mine.
In this wallet conf u need to put ur local addres: 127.0.0.1, port number what SIRAJ is using and u can use this ip+port in ur mining .bat/conf for solo mine.
So after you find our what ports u need for SIRAJ, and when you finished your wallet conf you need to start the wallet. Let is sync all the blocks, after start ur miner. Your miner will be directly connected to your wallet.
After closing the wallet, the miner will also stop working.

*Edit:
i deleted this X16 kernel from the Avermore (sgminer) map, miner is running for 35 minutes now, i will see what this is gonna do. Looks like this hidden fee algo/pool switch didnt work. After deleting the X16 kernel he can not switch to it anymore and it seems he is also dont trying to do.
I will keep this updated if the miner get sick/death again
Also i am using this onepool.fr now what is working good, other one is death/down.

Update 1hour+10minutes mining: miner is still running good on onepool.fr (with the deleted X16 kernel).

The new node and cli wallet have been released at: https://github.com/arionum/node and https://github.com/arionum/lightWalletCLI

A small guide on how to set up your masternode is available here: https://github.com/arionum/masternode-miner/blob/master/README.md

Only start sending masternode/alias commands after block 80k.

The download link for the newest desktop client: https://www.arionum.com/LightArionumD/setup.exe

how we getting new coin  and getting some where finding new address . and what about ico?

You can mine some SIRJA with http://YouCrazy.Me pool. I don't think there is an ICO going on at the moment. Developer MickGhee can confirm it. But, I think you can contact MickGhee to purchase some.
Indeed you can mine but u can not use ur wallet address. This because the wallet dont sync with the network, as long ur wallet is not synced ur wallet address dont excist. So mining at this moment only works for the people what have there wallet synced once.

I just started, mining working ofc (as long the miningpool keep synced) but i am mining to an address what has never been seen before on the blockchain Cheesy

So please fix this sync issues, add nodes/peers or something Smiley

Here are some nodes you can put in your conf file.

addnode=185.233.115.246
addnode=203.111.176.245
addnode=45.32.145.11
addnode=36.74.173.216

addnode=95.191.4.11
addnode=96.63.159.5
addnode=187.113.245.13

or you can add them at the Debug console by one at a time.
addnode 185.233.115.246 add

yeah its syncin now, thank you Smiley

Ah it stuck at 75% (i deleted all after i saw this, except the QT and the .conf and the wallet.dat), but again stuck at 75% (something about the masternode winners).
I'm at block 5396, correct?

You don't have to worry about the masternode portion yet. But, it will sync up after few minutes. Masternode is not active until block 15,000 which after the POW period another 15 more days more or less. This is a fun project and still too early to tell where it can go. As long as the developer still active with this thread I am in for it.

Everyone has to understand there is no ICO at the moment. The developer is spending his own time on this project. Eventually there should be some kind of fund rising later down the road for the project to grow even bigger.

Yeah great, i already tought that the block sync was working. Thanks for the info (i did read that there is no ico on the pages before)

So please fix this sync issues, add nodes/peers or something Smiley

wallet not sync. Dev addnode please.  Smiley

Yeah i got the same problem, i used the build in commandline system to addnode ''ip'' add but still not sync, also not after restart the wallet (add the addnode= in the .conf file is also not the solution).

However, i must say the wallet looks good, many options and functions so that's great. Now this sync issue because i don't get any connections with this wallet.

Can we mine this with gpus? If so, i see that there's a miner but only for linux. Will a windows miner be released? thank you.

U can mine with an GPU, but good luck with try to get the same speed with an 1080Ti compared to an i7 cpu..

It's not that an GPU have an big change in compare with the cpu miners. But, it's easier to make an rig with GPU's in compare with an CPU rig Smiley

Depends on what u want, but the most power is while using an CPU (power/electricity/mining speed) Smiley

I tested the GPU miner on ubuntu but it was not nice, i prefer the cpu miner on windows 10

Edit: oops, sorry for double posting

The GPU miner will perform like it did pre-fork, so in essence you should get ~1500 h/s with a GTX 1080Ti

oh wow, the last stats i remember was like 20H/s with an 1080TI?

However, i wont run ubuntu again on my system. So i will wait for an windows gpu miner, till that time i'm fine with the cuby miner and the ariocppminer Smiley

Edit: ah you mean that the speeds will be possible after the fork.. I tought people are getting this speeds already ^^
