101  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: August 25, 2017, 06:51:32 AM
Sad to hear about the delay but in the long term it will be good for Gulden, in the short term i have pulled a few btc away in buy support as I see other traders have done because bitcoin is going to break $4500 this week. I think if traders are smart we can use this break to get Gulden under 2000 because of the delay in development and another increase in bitcoin price.

Aim for another 1500-2000 sat range will be a really good bargain if you already own bitcoin.

Just plunged into this one.

Pros:
1) I like the app
2) I like their web site
3) Of course the idea is brilliant
4) They are taking their time

Cons:
Marketing skills are so, so but i guess they kinda want to stay low profile and do it the right way. Which is my way to live my life anyways and i was born in the mid 60 (sh*t lol)
I've been doing web marketing/web mastering since 97. New to all the crypto stuff. Even tho i had some bitcoins back in 2010 and bought stupid goods online with them.
Dick...

Marketing is by far the biggest negative about this coin and to a lesser degree available options to buy the coin for international users.

Will marketing come for this next release or will it be silent  . There is some ICOs who are marketing an idea and getting huge investment. Gulden is delivering on the ideas but no marketing. Marketing fresh air is making more value then not marketing great development.

It looks like a large amount of dumping occurred on Nocks (11.2 btc) which caused the price to hit 1550 sat.  Litebit and Guldentrader over 2 btc each, price pressure coming from everywhere.  Angry
104  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: August 10, 2017, 11:07:18 AM

You got a point there. but really how many users who have coins and are there in for the long run. Most of them buy a coin  hope for a rise(big one)and HODL.

Most HODLers are from 2014 they already have a certain profit but they hope this will be the next bitcoin 2.0. In other words there is a group of people who missed the boat for 2009 bitcoin prices but hope they get another chance with this coin

It will go to 1 billion marketcap if PoW2 and SegSig is being developed. It will be the best developed crypto by far and this is coming from someone who has a much larger stake in Dash, however PoW2 and SegSig is still fantasy and conjecture. A whitepaper does not mean the development is possible, it could be impossible but in theory it looks good. Has any testing been done by users outside the development team?
105  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: August 09, 2017, 03:24:09 PM
It does not matter if the product is not finished yet. i am on the gulden slack, and i noticed that the whole slack is to much pro gulden. Any difficult questions they dont like. especially rijk(dev)they are very critical about it. you may not compare the gulden coin besides BTC. I you have to much critic on the coin or Rijk he bans you. I also notice the 4 to 8 users always say its a good time to buy the gulden to the new users. Why.. the devs need to get paid...

The gulden is a good coin, but there are others coins that are just as good as the gulden. They said there are 60000 users that owns the gulden.. that is to low to ever have a impact on the world of coins. I think its the dutch arrogant to think there the gulden is all that.

you may not agree with me, but you wont get rich from the gulden, only the devs and the early buyers of the gulden.

60000 users, what the fuck are you people smoking. Digibyte doesn't have 60000 users and our marketcap is almost 8 times larger then Guldens. 60000 users and less then 30 btc buy support on bittrex. Some Dutch people are fucking gullible fucks.

Who said Gulden has 60000 users? Some trolls? Obviously it's a lie, if the coin had 60000 users it would be ranked top 20 on demand alone unless it was marketed to the poorest 60000 people in the world. Development this coin is top 10 material but there isn't many users.

How is the testing going for PoW2?

Quote from one of the developers on slack;

Development of PoW2 itself has been done for a while, I'm still finalizing some parts of segsig, after which we will announce official testing (soon) and then launch.

Latest info; https://gulden.com/segsig
thanks for the update. i was a bit disappointed by the delay of segwit. good to know that things are being finalized. i'll just assume that it will be done by the end of this month (as stated).

Gulden is doing SegSig, improved version of SegWit, according to the development page they getting a 58% saving , SegWit is only 25%.

How is the testing going for PoW2?
108  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: July 22, 2017, 07:32:36 PM
Gulden price has increased significantly since january and I believe that right now is not a good time to buy more gulden unless you want to hold it for a long term. In 1 year, Gulden has a great chance to tripple its price. However, I believe that there are still many coins which are better than gulden

Better in price but not development, besides Dash and ETH which coins have better development?
109  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: July 16, 2017, 03:25:28 PM
Really strange pricing compared to other coins, does anyone know if beta testing has started on PoW2 / SegSig? People could be worried the release is further away then expected, if it is truly this month or next then this is a bargain of a lifetime.

Does Gulden have a iOS wallet?
They have a working IOS wallet but they are currently waiting for apple store to approve it

iOS wallet is not that important, most of my family and circle of friends have moved over to Android.

edit: I do see it's popular in NL but rest of the world more people are moving over to Android and if you have a iPhone and into crypto then you are a bit of a retard if you haven't moved over within 6 months.

111  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: July 06, 2017, 12:50:01 PM
Big improvement, highlights the changes Gulden have made in the past and what is to come.
112  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: June 29, 2017, 02:53:47 PM
I know that Microsoft is huge, i was Just saying, that sometimes having a great product doesn't mean success...

It is important that Gulden makes many good products if they will continue to have poor marketing.
113  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: June 29, 2017, 12:14:40 PM
Microsoft came with an iPad before Apple, zero marketing...0 Sales.. Apple came with is on iPad they sold as something New and with a havy marketing...we know the results......

Microsoft is still a huge success , the speed at which Gulden develop will make it hard for marketing coins to keep up and some rich investors will pile into Gulden and provide the marketing themselves because the price and marketcap is non existent compared to coins that have MUCH less development but in the top 20.
114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: June 19, 2017, 05:18:35 PM

Lets flip this on it's head, if this coin had marketing it wouldn't be this dirt cheap? Right? Would you be buying this at Dash's marketcap? This is what makes it a great investment because it's dog shit cheap and marketing is something you can always get but not this kind of innovative development, money can't buy the skills these dutch guys have.

i bought in dec 15 so...i not worried about the money that i invested, i have sold some, but keeping a 5 figure number. i haven´t sold the rest because has you said, money can´t buy the skills these dutch guys have, i also do believed that, but money can take those dutch guys to another company.

I read in Reddit that in September they will allow other countries to buy directly from NOCKs Via Iban Transfer, thats a good thing because i'm portuguese but i live in Brasil so it´s not easy. I even asked if Portugal would be one of then and they said yes.  Cool

let see what happens in near future.

The developers of this coin are in this to succeed, below is a response from one of the main devs.

Please stop this nonsense, it is insulting, you claim to be a supporter of Gulden yet you keep insulting the developers by having so little faith in us that you think we are sitting around waiting for job offers from elsewhere.
We are in this for the long haul, and are not going to just "jump ship" at first sign of any difficulty, that is not how something of worth is built. Quite the contrary, our hard work is only just starting to pay off and there is no way we would do anything ridiculous to throw that all away. W are at the -beginning- of something very exciting here and can't wait to move on to the next part.

Quite honestly I don't know where or how you assume I would actually -want- to work for any of these other coins? Did it occur to you that I probably have multiple jobs outside of crypto that I could easily take right now? If for some reason Gulden failed (which it won't) - what makes you think I would want anything to do with these other project? I work for Gulden because I choose too, not because of a lack of other offers.
Perhaps you don't realise it but I am a person not a soul sucking vampire, money while a factor is not everything, I've turned down many job offers in my life and I will turn down many more, I pick the jobs I take based on many factors Gulden included, I see something in Gulden that I don't anywhere else. I have 0, zilch, absolutely no interest in any of these other coins, it's really that simple.

As a developer I am personally far more interested in continuous user growth than I am in temporary price fluctuations, that is what we have and always will be working on.
115  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: June 19, 2017, 04:58:32 PM

Gulden devs can help EFL with double spend attacks we will help get Gulden get onto Poloniex. Poloniex = 100% increase in 24 hrs of listing and 10 to 20 times higher price in a year with no development or marketing.

But from what i read here, it´s going to take a long time before they join Poloniex. Last hope that you are right!!!!. I do believe that gulden has a lot of potential, but the marketing... Just a crazy idea but i think they should invest some partnership with some coffee shop... A lot of people and money pass through them...

But once again Danuberiver hope you are right.

any news yet?

https://twitter.com/Gulden

From Gulden twitter about 1 hr ago.
Segwit isn’t the best solution for Gulden, so we’ll improve it and implement it along with our PoW² update. More at http://Gulden.com/segsig

63   Gulden Gulden   $38,670,62 - Safe to say ICOs are getting the money instead of coins like Gulden pushing innovation. Perhaps the whales in the altcoin world had no idea Gulden would turn out to be pushing the innovation envelope 3 years later.

Rank 65 , investors are confident that this can be copied by other coins and won't switch to Gulden. Malcolm and the team will move to where the money is to carry on blockchain development. Gulden is supported by bums and no amount of innovation is going to uplift it.

I already asked MaNI if he would consider moving to Dash and his response was that he is only involved in Gulden because he trusts the people behind it or he wouldn't be involved in crypto at all because of all the scams.

Let's respect this decision and not keep pushing false narratives, if he had to join Dash the first project would be to update Dash from 0.10 codebase to latest bitcoin codebase.

I will have to concede that Gulden will be better then Dash overall after this update bar the anonymity Dash still provides.

However looking at the account setup in the wallets it does provide enough privacy for 99% of the people.

What is the best way to talk to Gulden developers without speaking to Rijk? We need help with EFL.

I won't be happy if Gulden devs break focus on PoW2, wait until after the release.

Gulden has really has missed out on the Crypto Rush but will be better off when the bubble bursts.
119  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Alt Bubble Popped? on: June 04, 2017, 12:40:56 PM
It's a Poloniex bubble.
120  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Is Gulden a good investment? on: May 28, 2017, 04:59:12 AM
A good friend of mine who evaluates a lot of coins, said this should be valued at about $170 - $250 million in marketcap based on the development alone.

He noted that the buying options is the main constraint for the coin and getting onto more exchanges like Kraken would give buyers from all over easier access to Gulden.
