I am on slack and reading the trading channel from users like Lessram who don't give a shit about development. He is there only for profit and I don't think he is the only one.
Gulden needs to attract crypto believers who would appreciate the development work and advancements in the blockchain by the Gulden team.
Another problem is Nocks only has a 100k Euro limit which prevents real whales from fucking over traders like Lessram.

Allmost all people with crypto are only busy with one thing..... profit, profit and nothing more than profit and they aren't interested in development. I think Gulden isn't waiting for the big whales to get in. The big whales has the possibility now to use BTC-NLG and i don't see them there. So why should big whales comes to Nocks? I prefer a 1000 of small investors instead of 10 whales  Because the big whales are for sure only coming for the profit. But call me, besides Gulden, one coin with: 1) a (working) wallet for every platform, 2) With wallet link facilities, 3) with in wallet buy and sell possibility, 4) with in wallet Fiat paying system 5) a userbase who use the currency in daily live 6) a growing number of companys who accept NLG The real crypto believer don't exist. At some point true investers will stumble upon Gulden ask themselves why isn't this coin in the top 200 but my rank 35 coin has done nothing in 2 years besides lots of exchanges and good quality marketing or lying in this case. Fair market value is about 3-5 years away for crypto. Gulden is an extreme case of unfair market value where a coin like bitconnect was an extreme case of over valuation. I used bitconnect as an example as it's a proven scam but there is plenty coins in the top 100 that have no place being there. |

It's a good time to be in fiat for the next 2 months. Gulden marketcap will go to about $17 million , another 50% drop.
After the release in about 3 months Gulden will move up in valie as investment will move from other dying coins into it. Warning the process will be slow as we move into a bear market for the next 2 years. This bear market will cleanse the industry of all the scam and shit coins.
I plan to get another 200k Gulden from the despair phase and that will be easy.

I agree with OP. I fully believe in openness at whatever the cost. Because if someone like me can read all of that and somehow still believe in Gulden, then it means the project has people who actually believe in it. I think for an alt like Gulden to have survived for so long and even rise somehow also shows that small but dedicated teams still can make a lot happen. I may never one day be able to use Gulden the way I would like to (until I access the markets in Europe). But that is a hope I like to keep.
All my coins I intend to hold and use properly. Gulden has what so many alts don't. A community that actually uses it!
I've always been open on that Gulden itself is a good thing. I just don't agree with the current course of the dev team. I have peace with that. Thanks for opening up a new thread. What course do you think the dev team should take? |

SegSig end date was removed off the roadmap, masternodes development took 18 months which would place PoW2 to be released in June. Ground breaking development does take time.
Walk away and come back around May or you going to drive yourselves crazy.

If you persist in calculating with satoshi you are right. But then you deserve that loss because of stupidity. The average price in sept 2017 was €0,1015, The price now is €0,1155 so you have a profit instead of a loss. FantoNas is not so good in calculating i think. 3000/1310=2.29 and not 3 a very big difference But i ask myself. Why, if you bought on 3000sat, keep on negative posting to lower the value of Gulden. There are possible new investors who read this and that will not help the price. I understand why RichPissman is posting but not you  Gulden is a cheap coin and his upward potential is much higher as a lot of other (overpriced?) coins. On 12 januari it was $0.4860 and 3517 sat so you could have sold it also with a btc profit of 17% but because you did not do it and it was not good enough for you you are complaining now and are mad @ yourself.  When the PoW2 and SegSig update is out the price will reverse because there will be a 20% decline in PoW rewards and more traders will want to witness as it's a win if you want more Gulden. We all at the mercy of the development team when it comes to the low price of Gulden. No reason to complain here, push the development team for the sneak peak which was promised in the last update. I am normally positive about Gulden but 2 WEEKS for a sneak peak is nothing short of insanity. I will apologies if the sneak peak ends up being a video of the new wallet. Why did they break from the PoW2 release to do iOS? They have a dedicated mobile wallet developer. So he’s doing his part. iOS development is tough, not many coins have a iOS wallet or developer. Gulden is in a good position. |

I will have to agree with some of the comments here in the past that the marketing of gulden is poor. This is the most likely reason for the low marketcap. Good if you investing in the hope the marketing situation changes. The development is more then good enough as PeterPicker has stated while comparing Gulden to other coins with a higher ranking on coinmarketcap. Can you send this link to Rijk or whoever runs marketing for Gulden? |

This ANN reminds of the 2014 and 2015 days where FuD on these forums could influence the price. When Dash was still Darkcoin bitcoin talk opinions could easily convince people to part with there Dash but once Dash got listed on more high volume exchanges, what was said on bitcointalk did not make a difference. Gulden is a easy target because new registrations on bittrex has not been opened and you relying on existing users to support the coin, if gulden was on Binance or other high volume exchanges the trolls would be wasting there time on here.

This all escalated quickly?!?! I will say this, millennials do not like rules and restrictions. The system has failed their generation which is why they are turning to cryptos. Whoever moderates the slack must find a good balance between FUD and constructive topics. I am not concerned about development timelines as only a handful of coins are doing innovative blockchain development and I am sure the gulden team will be successful eventually.
Part of the success of other coins and tokens is the ability of those marketing teams to connect with the millennials where gulden is more suited towards generation X and older.

Scams have been winning in this market make no mistake about it, anyone who invested in scams would of made a lot more money then investing in Gulden in the short term. The only way scammers can be beat is through coins with real development teams that are driving blockchain technology forward.
I made a post about this 2 months ago but decided not to let it affect me anymore. It's frustrating watching scams making scammers and people who get out at the top rich. The other problem Gulden has is anyone outside of the EU can't get Gulden easily because bittrex have closed registrations since December last year. This prevents new international users from buying Gulden and another reason this coin is not in the top 100 where it should be. Until Nocks gets other currency pairings added, Gulden won't reach it's full potential in terms of price but if the PoW2 and SegSig update does come, it will be ahead of the other blockchains by far. It's going to be strange to see a coin not in the top 100 better then coins in the top 20. It will be in the top 50 after the update, I don't want to predict when the update is coming because of the constant delays. The risk you take is buying at these prices expecting the update to come or wait until an announcement is made and buy at that price which could be lower then what it is today. My recommendation if you following Gulden on twitter and you have 24 hour access to bittrex or Nocks is buy as the announcement is made. Stay in btc or cash until then. |

I didn't want to post this in the Gulden Announcement page to avoid bias opinions but wanted to know if Gulden is a safe bet compared to other alt coins. The reason I am asking is I noticed there ranking on coinmarketcap is way below other coins that have nothing going for them or is it that the other alt coins are way over priced?
i think today as all the coins are in red color,same as bitcoin and more altcoins but gulden stands still d having a green flag..so i guess its a good investment for now.but i dont know in long term.better watch out what will happen in the next few months Next few months btc will be < $8000, Gulden will be < 1500 sat. Sitting in $$ is the best thing to do and buy up fast when the developers make the announcement for only PoW2 in June or July. SegSig failure will be a hard lesson for the team but they must learn from their mistakes. All big companies today made mistakes while growing. I think $8k for BTC is way too conservative... last time it "corrected" it went from ~1200 USD to ~230 USD, which took over a year (yes, Cryptos react THAT slow). Consolidation phase took another few months before it found its way back up. Based on the previous corrections I would not be surprised if BTC would go down to $2k, but the thing with these long corrections is that a lot of things could happen in that time. Sitting in cash is indeed a good position for this moment, just wait for the bottom. As for NLG, My guess is that the drop will stop around USD 0.07-0.09, where the previous support is. Disclaimer: this is not financial advice, just my view on things. That drop from 1200 USD to 230 USD was also impacted by MT GOX in more ways then one. MT GOX was behind the surge and it's downfall was the reason for the drop. At that time a lot of people thought bitcoin was MT GOX as they weren't educated about the decentralized nature of bitcoin. The normal rule of thumb is 40-60% drop is a good price to re enter the market after a correction. The above is also my opinion and not to be taken as 100% fact. Sure, MtGox played a role... but IMHO more as reason for it to go down in the first place... the long time for correction can't be attributed to that alone. At the time we also had China government officials FUDing about making bitcoin illegal. That had more of an impact than MtGox. Best advice I can give during this time is use 20% of your funds to buy the dips in the event it does drop another 50% but if does not you are still making profit on that initial investment. |
