241  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it wise to spend your Bitcoin on: April 07, 2023, 09:02:57 PM
Nobody knows your situation, OP and nobody can tell you what to do.
A millionaire who has 10% of his wealth in bitcoin and if it all comes crashing down is still left with enough to live happily ever after will not spend because he can spend fiat money.
A poor guy who gets paid in bitcoin every week or month and has not enough fiat money to cover the bills will spend his coins because he cannot afford to hold.

A rich man will usually become richer, a poor guy will be to poor to invest and make more money. Try to live with a rich guy's mindset even when you're poor that's my advice to you.
242  Economy / Service Discussion / Re: Discussion: Who is going to fill the gap of Chipmixer by the end of year 2023? on: April 05, 2023, 08:41:28 PM
IMO the one that doesn't face a strong opposition from the regulators. At this point it's not that difficult to make or advertise a mixing service if you have any idea of how to approach it but the problem is keeping it running without problems. Some torrent sites were raided and shut down but others like 1337.to keep running for years and they just switch domains when one gets blocked. If the mixing service manages to stay alive for a year or two it's going to be popular and profitable. That's the way I see it.

It's no different with crypto exchanges. You don't scam and you don't get yourself arrested for a few years and you're going to have a popular business worth a lot of money.

Currently the mixing campaign is increasing their payouts such as Unijoin also increasing its perpost payout to 0.00012/btc from only 0.0001/btc, MixTum gives participants who have earned 1000 merits a 20% weekly bonus, YoMix adds bonuses to 3 quality posters and looks like there will still be a lot of changes going forward depending on how they will improve it.

Competition is always good, be it school, sport, business...

243  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Newbie: If trading isn't working for you, buy and hold. on: April 05, 2023, 07:09:56 PM
Well... The fact that newbies has little or no experience doesn't mean that they should stop trading. Sometimes, they need to test the waters to see how it works. They might get burnt, register some losses and can also learn from your experience and become a professional trader.

The problem is that professional traders rarely win in crypto. The strategies they use when trading stocks don't work well with highly volatile and manipulated assets like bitcoin.

You don't have to look far to see what happened a few days ago. Bitcoin dipped almost 1000 dollars because someone spread fake news about Interpol arresting CZ from Binance. If you had a levered long position you lost money on that day even though it was all FUD.

For this reason alone I don't recommend people to trade any crypto unless they do swing trades with no leverage and are ready to lose money.

If you want to trade, invest 80% of your capital into bitcoin and keep it offline and trade the other 20%, see how you do. If you keep making profit, add to the amount, go to 50% traded coins, but whatever you do, hold some bitcoin in self custody.

244  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How to convince a sceptical person to buy Bitcoin ? on: April 05, 2023, 06:52:38 PM

Don't convince people to do action which is against on their will. You might get accused for doing illegal activities and want to victimized them if you pressure them to do something they don't know.

Better let them discover the whole aspect about crypto and show your own result because skeptical people are result oriented and they want to see if you are earning good with it before it catch their interest to participate on things they discover.

I'm not scared of being accused of doing something illegal when I know it's not illegal, but that doesn't mean I'd do what OP is asking about. You're not a guru, you're not promising them returns. If they lose money they can't do anything to you legally, but ethically you're at fault.

Convincing someone to buy bitcoin is indirectly taking responsibility for that person's investment. It's one thing to tell that person about bitcoin and give them a choice and another thing to try to change a mind of a skeptic.
245  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Think Existing Crypto Casinos Were Able to Churn Fiat Casinos User? on: April 04, 2023, 09:20:55 PM
I can't say for sure, but in my opinion they can. Some people go to a physical casino to have fun with friends, the  way they go to a bar and those people will not be easily persuaded. They're not there for the money but rather for fun. It's a social event to them.

On the other hand there are people who play to win and these people will find the comfort of their own home better and more relaxing. People aren't the same and the same can be said about casino patrons. We all have our goals and needs and some of us will like the digital form while others will not. I like it more than crowded fiat casinos.
246  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: You are probably a target already if... on: April 04, 2023, 08:36:43 PM
Or one could just avoid airdrops together. The security and privacy risk one is exposed to by trying out multiple airdrops is not worth the tokens they give out as rewards.
The time completing those tasks and creating different social accounts can be applied to some other endeavor which would be more rewarding.

Altcoins are full of traps, like bars in Thailand Wink

I've noticed there are two kinds of people in here. One stick to holding and trading known, verified coins. They have BTC, ETH, maybe go crazy from time to time and buy a shitcoin like Doge when they feel like it may get pumped by some influencer, that's it.
The other kind is a bounty hunter that does not verify. That bounty hunter jumps into every single project without even knowing what it's about. The only thing these guys care about is the money they can make from it. They jump into the water, not knowing its depth or temperature, thinking there's a treasure waiting for them, but often it's just an old shoe, or a shark ready to bite.

Believe me when I say it, claiming airdrops is one step forward, two steps back. You think you're ahead one month and then someone cheats you the next.
247  Economy / Scam Accusations / Re: Looking for the Profile of the scammer Sara Leppänen (CFO/CEO of Localbitcoins.) on: April 03, 2023, 08:22:13 PM
Please follow the format for scam accusations.

This isn't an accusation but more of a plea. Maybe offer some reward and put it in the service section, although paying to dox someone is not going to make you popular in this community.

Once I found out where they live I pay money to arrest her.

Does that mean you have access to dirty cops? I don't live in a country where you can pay the police to get someone arrested, but I've heard it's a common thing in some countries.
The way they put Tate brothers in jail speaks for itself.

248  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: are you still strong holding btc on: April 03, 2023, 08:11:46 PM
as we know today btc is in the range of 28000, and i was very lucky to be able to buy btc when the price was still low, and now if i sell it i have a profit but if i sell it now i'm afraid i won't be able to
buying from the bottom again,

The main difficulty is identifying the bottom. As a matter of fact, the bottom in the next 6 months could be this exact price we have today or very close to it. It's possible that Bitcoin will never fall below 25000 USD again. What will you do if that happens and you're out? Are you going to be out forever, or will you pay more for the same bitcoin?

Quote
and I'm currently struggling to hold btc so I don't sell it,
If you're struggling it means you've invested more than you should.

I'm holding more bitcoin than I did in 2022 at this time and I'm planning to keep stacking up.
Even if it goes to 30000 now I won't sell anything. It's much easier to hold bitcoin than fiat in case of emergency.
249  Economy / Speculation / Re: Wall Observer BTC/USD - Bitcoin price movement tracking & discussion on: April 02, 2023, 10:16:58 PM

This does not surprise me.

Klauss Schwab and his puppets like Trudeau and Legarde want CBDC. WEF also has its puppets in the US and Warren seems to be one of these agents.
All anti bitcoin campaigns ultimately point to the same plan: launch CBDC, limit cash use, prevent bank runs, control people by controlling their savings.

That prick sounds desperate... but he has made these kinds of pleas in the past, and he has shown himself to be a liar .. an ongoing liar, ...

His timing of April 1 is perfect to make such a statement.

250  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Day trading is perfect work for jobless peoples on: April 02, 2023, 10:03:07 PM
yes day trading could be a good job for jobless peoples but only if you have enough money to invest and knowing how to trade like a professional traders to became a day trader you need to learn how to enters, exits
Trading psychology, Emotional control and all aspects of trading to attract the life that you want.

You're right.

The way OP is saying it make it look like anyone could do it. The truth is, you need money to buy decent PC. You can't efficiently trade by using your phone.

You also need some money to start. Trading with $100 will not be very successful since beginner traders often are at a loss and even if they can earn some money 1 month they will probably lose some the next one.

It also requires some basic knowledge and psychical predisposition to trade. The more scared you are of losing money the worse you will perform. You need to be calm and calculated.

If any of you want to be a trader, especially in crypto, be aware that more than 80% of traders lose money. If you're at 0 profit after a month of trading you're doing better than the majority!
251  Other / Meta / Re: New CAPTCHA now required before posting on: April 02, 2023, 09:10:26 PM
This was April fools? I thought that was for real! All that effort on my part not to be a spammer and no reward, just a stupid list!

Joking, great prank, the forum does not disappoint.

Is there any chance you can provide a link for those who wish to access the game the rest of the year for entertainment and possible competitive purposes ?
Some masochistic tendencies? Cheesy
252  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance - a new problem on the horizon? on: April 02, 2023, 08:44:04 PM
The lawsuit against Binance is currently worrying many as everyone wonders what will happen to their deposits if the allegations are proven.

If they're worried, maybe it would be a good idea to take custody of their funds and finally become a real holder of cryptocurrencies, not a holder by proxy like they are now.

Quote
Because we have known for a long time that Binance is one of the most popular and reliable Crypto Exchanges and everyone has deposited their money with great trust.

Someone who deposits money with a third party with great trust must be lacking the ability to do some basic critical thinking. When you hand your money over to someone for safekeping you better know that person well. If you don't, you better hold something that belongs to that person that can be used as collateral.

Quote
I also have some money deposited here so my question is what will happen to everyone's money if the allegations against Binance are proven. Can those who have deposited money in this exchange withdraw their money?

Don't take unnecessary risk. There's more than one exchange, you know.
253  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Supercycle? on: April 01, 2023, 10:40:24 PM
This is one of the possibilities for bitcoin in the next 10 years or so.
As you know we are going through a time of high inflation and some banks are among the companies that were "swimming naked". The governments and famous economists are trying to make us think high inflation is going away, but it's possible they broke the system by printing too much in 2020 and 21 and cutting rates won't save them this time.

In a scenario where biggest currencies like USD and EUR go into 20% inflation and big banks in regions that were seen as safe like Switzerland go bankrupt we could see bitcoin explode and keep going for years without a bear market.

I don't see it happening soon because the governments will try to slow it down as much as they can by dumping whatever digital assets they have on these low liquidity markets and trying to pass laws that prohibit mining.
254  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for April on: April 01, 2023, 08:30:53 PM
I expect us to keep going up, but in general we're expected to stay in the 25-35 range a little more. A couple of months maybe?

We should try to break 30 this month but that is without any government intervention/manipulation. I'm sure you know about the attempt by the US gov to keep us below 30k by spewing lies about mining and selling silk road coins. Coins they were holding for 9 years and 2 bull markets. They did not sell at 60 thousand but are willing to sell now, just because bitcoin is starting to be seen as an escape from the falling banking system.

Also, why are you guys all spammers? Show a little effort Tongue
255  Economy / Speculation / Re: Is buying BTC now, the best option ??? on: April 01, 2023, 07:59:38 PM
we could be expecting the next bull run in the crypto market which will most likely be led by BTC to start in 2024 reaching it's highest in 2025.

This is nothing but speculation. It could start before halving because of how much people believe in post halving bull runs. What makes 2025 so special that you expect the ath to happen? It could happen before, at, or right after the halving.

Quote
one major element that can catalyse the next bull run, is the Bitcoin halving that triggers every 4 years.  And as expected after every Bitcoin halving comes a  Bull run in the crypto market.

Bitcoin will reach another all time high, I have no doubt about it, but don't act like you already have the money in your hand.

Quote
So, from the look of things, don't you think that investing in Btc at the moment could be worth considering?

I do, but I'm not investing now. The best time to invest was when the price was crashing hard in 2022. When we broke below 20 thousand was the most obvious sign that bitcoin is at or close to its bottom.

256  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Neymar Loses €1M in Casino in Just an Hour on: March 31, 2023, 09:01:38 PM
I wish I could laugh at losing money like he does.
It's interesting that they all lose a million while streaming. First it was Drake now Neymar. I feel like the Neymar loss is an answer to the viral video of Drake losing the same amount. It's all done to get more views and promote a casino. He didn't lose anything the casino wanted him to play and they probably gave him back the money or gave him a million credit to keep him playing.

Some day, he'll wish he had that million dollars back.

If he keeps on living like many other rich stars, especially from the music industry, he's going to be broke in 10 years.

257  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Do you withdraw bitcoin this week? on: March 31, 2023, 08:36:00 PM
I see no reason to do it.

I'm in this game for the long run and when you've been through at least 1 bull and 1 bear market before, your attitude changes. You no longer look at bitcoin as a way to have more fiat but you look at fiat as a way to get more bitcoin.

I totally understand people who entered the market at the lows and want to realize profits. I came here in 2016 when bitcoin was bottoming and I felt so good seeing everything in the green early in 2017 but little did I know that it was only a fraction of what's to come.
258  Other / Beginners & Help / Re: Why is it that is bitcoin is first in thought in mind in cryptocurrency on: March 31, 2023, 08:19:35 PM
There are several reasons.

  • The first crypto
  • The largest makret cap
  • The highest price per coin
  • The largest acceptance worldwide
  • The only truly decentralized cryptocurrency
  • The most regulations and laws where it's mentioned
  • Has the largest community

It's great that bitcoin is the first thing that comes to people's minds and I hope it stays this way forever.
259  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What have you got rid of to accumulate Bitcoin on: March 30, 2023, 07:17:15 PM
I'm doing it in an indirect way.

I'm not selling property so that I can turn that money into bitcoin but I'm selling some things from time to time so I don't have to sell my bitcoin and I can stack up my signature campaign profits. Without selling stuff I probably wouldn't be able to live comfortably, but I have so many unneeded things that I can keep on doing it for a long time. Most women do.

Truly one of the best ways to get more bitcoin is selling old stuff. Check if you have an old phone, or some clothes, maybe jewelry that you never wear, a watch. Sell it and get more bitcoin with the money. You'll get something for nothing and you'll feel much better, like getting 2 things done at one go.
260  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reasons why I might consider selling my Bitcoin. on: March 30, 2023, 01:37:50 PM
Unfavorable government policies: If the government of my country decides to ban the holding or use of bitcoin, I might be forced to dispose of them. I will not want to be hiding from law enforcement agencies or risk being arrested. I don't wish this to happen but if it does, I will have to take that hard and painful decision.

If your government ever bans bitcoin completely, it will mean it wants to ban privacy.

If such thing happened in my country I'd be really worried that the government is turning into another China or North Korea, where they can take your property at any moment and you can be put in jail for not agreeing with them, the way people in Russia were being arrested for holding a Ukrainian flag or saying "no to war" in public.

Would you really prefer to sell your bitcoin and live in that country or move somewhere else and escape oppression?
