1  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Grin | PoW Mining | Electronic transactions for all. Community driven. on: October 10, 2019, 08:45:14 PM
They don't cause centralization.
Really? So you think that one person/group controlling 1000s of mining machines where they can achieve more than half the hash rate isn't centralization?

nope.
I see.. Well either you're not all that bright since that's exactly why Satoshi designed what he did, or you have an ulterior motive for spreading that fallacy. Either way, not like it really matters since it's all going to end up being centralized so good luck to you.

What is that difference between 1000s of mining ASICs, 10000 of mining GPUs and 5 people controlling half of the coins in a PoS system?

For as long as there are poor and rich people, centralizion will keep occurring in one form on another.
What is the difference between cryptocurrency and central bankers shitting money out of thin air?

If a currency can not exist without being controlled by a few, then its not a currency, its shit.

Miners, hardware, electricity, ups the stakes significantly compared to PoS, which leads faster to centralization and shitcoins.

Expect an announcement about a possible future awesome announcement.

Code word about this new project is only leaked so far, its "R".

R is coming soon, when the pre announcement about its announcement drops, mountins will shake.

thumbs up for tradetheodds developers! It would be awesome if you finish by the time the FIFA 2018 World Cup will start. It looks very professional at a first glance. Byteball never annoys  us

Thanks! Up and running in time for the FIFA world cup is the goal but it will be close. We tweeted the announcement this morning. Tony retweeted from the official Byteball account, which we are grateful for. We'll start putting out blog posts this weekend.

Can you post more info, screenshots of your service here please?
Very interested, in time for world cup, a trustless betting is needed.

Major hurdle for adoption of GNUnet and similar is the morality of even remotely helping out child molesters or Nazis.

Censorship resistence is attractive, yet not without allowing users to select and enforce their own policies. This is the problem which needs to be solved. Anon filesharing exists, we just dont want it.

Thinking you are guys very exaggerate Byteball, and it's not new consensus.
Do you know of any other project using the same or similar consensus algorithm?

Remember IOTA is a Ponzi scheme where nothing works as they claim and it is only a single SQL database behind the curtain, while RaiBlocks is different consensus design.
6  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 28, 2017, 05:54:11 PM
You could say "why are prices like 99 or 349, and not 100 and 350, noone would fall for that, people arent stupid are they"

But they are stupid,  stupid ones run the economy.
7  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: December 28, 2017, 09:37:54 AM
I strongly recommended someone I know just getting into crypto to put something into Byteball as a high potential/undervalued project.
He put his money into Cardano instead as it's cheaper!  Shocked

They have a nice debit card.
The same from my friends, "So expensive Ill buy a ripple instead its only 1 dollar vs 600".

Where is the 1 year old party?

Just a few hours left, anyone else still here from last year, say hi!

From genesis to textcoin and cashback, what a story.

The Dev should consider using some sort of proof of individuality ( like confirming a telephone number ...etc) to distribute some of the coins it will be more efficient method and it will reach out to a lot more people than the cash back program.

Why?

It would be way more beneficial to everyone if airdrops finished for good. That money would be better spent on dev, mkt and other productive stuff, plus people waiting for future airdrops means LESS people actually BUYING.

It is way better if price does x10 due to that actions than if we all double our stash via airdrop but the price stalls (or even dumps right afterwards).

Not knowing how the remaining coins are going to be distributed cause a lot of uncertainty. Investors hate uncertainty.

The entire distribution model was a disaster of cataclysmic proportions and still is.

Rip that band aid off now and just BURN the rest of the coins.

Burn them into the abyss keeping a very small proportion to fund developments and watch the price increase nicely.

Even better fork it and null the known other ico bb wallets and burn those too.

They had a cheek claiming them anyway.

Nobody will even talk about it after a couple of weeks and any icos complaining will look like complaining scabs anyway.

Just do it, i mean we went back on the full moon distributions and pissed off real investors I couldnt care less about upsetting other greedy ICO managers.

That's what i'd suggest from here on.

I concur

Put 100,000 GBYTE into a Byteball Foundation to use for marketing, corporate outreach, expanding the dev team, etc.

Put 100,000 aside to continue using for cashback merchant program and any other future programs.

Airdrop the rest.

Done.
This.

IOTA wins in marketing, shills, sockpuppets and small following of cultists.

Technology doesnt matter, else we would all be using GNU/Linux since decades ago.

But, best technology/fundamental does win if it has marketing.

See IOTA fans are like cultists, because they had to spend BTC to aquire iotas, they are invested. For Byteball, a signature is the investment. So you dont see Byteball mentioned anywhere, people arent vested in it.
11  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: November 30, 2017, 09:27:22 AM
It's not rocket science to make confirmations faster with byteball. Transactions are confirmed when witness broadcasts a unit of transactions into the DAG database. To do so witness needs to pay fee for adding data. Witness earns fees from transactions included in the unit payed by users broadcasting transactions itself. When there's not many transactions it's expensive for witness to post new units every 1 or 2 seconds. When there's plenty of transactions witnesses can post units more frequently making confirmations faster.

Conclusion - transactions will be confirmed faster when there's more transactions and witnesses can earn users' fees to post units more frequently.
Yes, I totally agree with you, but which of 1328 coins from coinmarketcap.com can do >100 TPS at this moment except IOTA, Stellar and Ripple? For example, so that the cryptocurrency could compete with VISA and Mastercard.
Just because its on cmc doesnt mean its a cryptocurency, see BitConnect and IOTA.

Iota is at best a PostgreSQL instance, Coordinator, with useless glitter around to hide it.

The cn2x exchange is scam.
13  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] DAG coin for IoT with massive scale, sharding and smarter contracts on: October 29, 2017, 07:56:53 AM
DAG and IOT are hot topic now.Where can we find more information like team and website? Please dont just write few words here.
Its a joke dude, to tell you any idiot can write a few words on a website, and can type IoT without actually even knowing anything about it. And people woumd buy it.

Be warned, stay vigilant, dont invest just because muh IoT muh DAG.

Still the only coin with incentive for adoption as part of its distribution?

Back in 2013 there was a flood of altcoins, ShitCoin here Nxt there all shit, from thousands 2-3 survived to this day, Litecoin and Dogecoin.

In 2017 we see ICOs here shit tokens there, in the thousands, 2-3 will survive. Byteball is the only innovative this year.

Look at iota, non functional, "seizing" adresses by the Coordinator.
15  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 25, 2017, 09:13:23 PM
why is this project's price so low currently? can we get a move along and get things going.

After more people use it, the price will rise.

A few reasons. The average crypto investor in today's market is unable to discern what the scam coins are from radically new, exciting projects like byteball or skycoin. That's what you see ponzi like bitconnect or regal coins that are 40-100x and the coins that have developers and innovation are ignored. Also bitcoin forks are now in vogue and every major altcoin is down exponentially vs bitcoin, byteball just happened to be hit hardest because of the lack of hype and low liquidity.
Spot on. Also other scam coins, ponzi schemes like iota buy lot of hype/sockpuppets.

Too many bagholders in this thread now.

Ask the Nxt people, Come-From-Beyond is a bagholder generator.

One-trick pony is back! I was missing you.  Cheesy
I missed your siamese twin ligio too.

The differnce is developer does not dump his 1%, and other early investors like me, hold with steady hands.

How much of your iotas have you dumped CfB? Your friends bought lambos yet? Begun on yet another Next Big Coin scam?

Do you mean that Byteball is so bad that even without the dev dumping his 1% it's plummeting?
The price of Byteball is determined by free market, yes, not by scammers and shady exchanges.
19  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: BYTEBALL: Totally new consensus algorithm + private untraceable payments on: October 13, 2017, 05:05:18 PM
With the lack of marketing and resisting FUD from and association with the childish "iota", the price may go back to $10.

I for one am tired of being only 1 or 2 people calling out the FUD in this thread and reddit.

Look at all the shitcoins, blockchain clones, talked about everywhere and none of you guys mention Byteball. Why?

Can not have adoption or good distribution by being silent.

Classic altcoin dump.

If you buy this, you deserve to stay poor.

You confused this thread with "Byteball - Unmoderated thread"  Cheesy
