1101  Economy / Economics / Re: could bitcoin be replaced by another crypto currency? on: September 12, 2017, 01:57:12 PM
I would like to take a divergent view from recent comments that I have read. When it comes to be valuable in the manner of fiat equivalent, then bitcoin is not the highest because  I have seen a coin in whose 2 btc is needed to buy 1 of it. But when it comes to adoption and potential, then there is no one that can overtake bitcoin for now and maybe in the future we can see that.
1102  Economy / Economics / Re: Bitcoin Is Not Really A Good Money on: September 12, 2017, 01:34:32 PM
Bitcoin is not real money because of simple fact acceptance the way dollar is not real money to the man on the street of China trying to make a living for himself. In the outside world bitcoin might not be real money, but over here, that is the main currency to be used as a medium of exchange and even anything other than bitcoin for services to be rendered or rendered is purely a waste of time.
1103  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you think you are a gambling expert? on: September 12, 2017, 08:04:35 AM
Even in my profession that I have studied and even doing some side practice, I cant say I am an expert in it not to talk of gambling that is embedded with huge amount of risk couple with manipulations that might not emanate from one but the selfish attitude of the site administrators among others. I doubt if anyone can claim expertise on something like this.
1104  Economy / Economics / Re: China banning bitcoin exchages, good or bad? on: September 11, 2017, 03:09:22 PM
Chinese govt has decided to ban the local bitcoin exchanges. [1] This is pretty big news considering one of large market and mining firms are located in China.
Do you think this would affect  bitcoin world and bitcoin price in negative way or positive way?  Some say china is doing so because people are bypassing the banking system and in turn the government regulation using bitcoin.

After reading the news, I realize that its not still different from every other news that have been circulated round the web to still create unnecessary panic and heat the polity. The fact still remains that, its still an intending action to be taken and until then, the discussion can now open as to whether its good for the market or it will make it worse.
1105  Economy / Economics / Re: The Wall Street Jornal - China to Shut Bitcoin Exchanges SEPTEMBER 11, on: September 11, 2017, 05:59:41 AM
The news is something that we have heard several time but the concern is about the word "to" which is not even sure when its going to happen because I don't expect the administration of this major exchange sites to sit and fold their arms while their source of living is taken away from them. Further discussions are already to be ongoing while we await their final decison.
1106  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The next Bitcoin? on: September 09, 2017, 04:35:22 PM
There won't be the next bitcoin as its only one bitcoin we will have and when that is done or gone ( which is almost impossibke from what we are seeing) another thing entirely will show up that will equally Marvell us and wouldn't be anywhere related to bitcoin as we have it now.
1107  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Banking with your bitcoin on: September 09, 2017, 03:50:32 PM
Actually the Bitcoin wiki says bitcoin is compatible and will be used for and by modern banks.
Like it or not, it actually makes sense to use modern banks with bitcoin for the same reasons we use them with fiat. Lending is a huge and important part of the economy, and some users really don't want to worry about security. You can "be your own bank" with USD Cash but most let banks worry about keeping their money safe. This will almost assuredly continue.

I think it's going to be a good thing to do because quite a number of people just have stacks of btc in their wallet waiting for it to increase while we have several others that would need it to develop ideas but because the believe is that only few ICOs are real, we then tend to be more careful but with banks, we get to save ourselves from those troubles of vetting the business proposal which they would do before advancing credit faculties. But the issue now, is when will we be able to do that? Until the time when the integration is fully done, I guess we just need to still stick to our way of doing business.
1108  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do You Go to Land Based Casinos? on: September 09, 2017, 01:46:30 PM
Land casinos are no go area for people like me even though they are scarce around here and are not meant for common people like me except the money bags who can play with thousands of dollars in expensive hotels so for me, I just have to stay within my reach by focusing on the online part where I can make a run for my money without fear of victimization.
1109  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Have you ever gambled to escape worry, trouble, boredom, loneliness, grief or lose on: September 09, 2017, 01:30:29 PM
Gambling in a sad mood from my point of view will be done without objectivity which one thing that gambling does not want because losing money in addition to the loss or grief is double tragedy. For me, I haven't done something of that nature and I don't think I  can because when I gamble, I want to be in the right state of my mind and do it effectively.
1110  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Does bitcoin's price volatility affect your gambling habits? on: September 09, 2017, 12:30:32 PM
So does this factor affect how you gamble?

If prices go up, do you lower you bets? For example, you normally bet 0.001 per bet, do you lower it to 0.0001 per bet?

If prices go down, do you place higher bets? For example, you normally bet 0.001 per bet, do you place higher bets like 0.01 per bet?

Volatility to the best of my ability does not affect the my habit or ability to bet since I don't bet with fiat I bet with btc and that is constant irrespective of the amount of relationship to dollars. If I bet 1 btc with 1.5 odds the I should expect 1,5btc in returns otherwise, there is a problem which means if BTC was $1000 when I made the bet and I won and its now $2000 or even $500 that does not matter again.
1111  Other / Off-topic / Re: I am getting sick of fucking Chinese idiots on: September 08, 2017, 07:17:11 PM
Why don't we just ban China?

Unfortunately we can't do anything about the Chinese as at now because even countries that should come and decentralise the power Chinese government has are either sleeping or ignoring the fact that the dominance or China is increasing beyong the trade and technology but also into the technology of the future while they are there fighting over what is of no relevance.
1112  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What If Bitcoin is banned? on: September 08, 2017, 12:14:04 PM
If bitcoin is eventually banned and banned successfully, because some countries have banned it and they couldn't but continue to regulate it, then they are not  successful with it. If that is the case I guess the gateway to bitcoin would have been shut which will make it impracticable to find a way through and in that case, I don't see any alternative than to stop its use.
1113  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Profits and the Bubbles on: September 08, 2017, 11:40:45 AM
What you have alluded is very much true I am not saying your fears will come true or not but for someone who has been hearing of those news, for believing in them its a risk and believing not in them is also a risk but a smart individual will learn on how to manage the risk and that's why people keep some of their investment outside crypto at the expense of loss of the return they would have gotten if they put all their investment in crypto.
1114  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Why do you hold BitcoinCash? on: September 08, 2017, 08:35:45 AM
I have none and am thinking about hedging.  Why do you HODL?

I also have access to some BCH but because of the little interest I have in it, I have not even claim it but very soon I will and I will equally hold because its like every other coin that is expected to increase over time so one can maximise profit because its free money after all and another free one is coming in November to throw free money again.
1115  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you have some BTCs, why not have some Gold too? on: September 07, 2017, 03:38:47 PM
I don't have gold and I don't think I will be interested in having one not because of any particular reason but because I don't just see it as something flexible as bitcoin. I could be wrong but that is my opinion and that is the same reason why I don't have some coins as well and its very much ok since I cant have everything even though I wanted to.
1116  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Is it technically possible to ban Bitcoin in a particular country? on: September 07, 2017, 02:54:15 PM
Government can ban anything. I know of organisations who internet will not allow access to any site with some specific keywords no matter how you try. They regulate virtually everything and even with some sites with some specific IPs within office hours and the system wont even connect to an external internet access to make those sites available that's how far government can do when they are ready but lets hope it dosent get to that because not everyone is techy savvy that can break through those firewalls put in place.
1117  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: only 0.000149 btc on: September 07, 2017, 01:44:34 PM
Hello

in my wallet i have 0.000149 btc  Undecided what can i do with this amount, trading ? landing ?  Huh  Huh or what  ? it's not even  cover a transaction fee   Sad Undecided

Since you cannot use it for whatever you have in mind, then you are left with the option of increasing it to make it worthwhile which is why you need to either buy to join the amount there or you earn it either way, its going to cost you some effort. You can go the route of faucets and earn small then go to gambling to double it, (if you are lucky) then at then add it to your balance then make the best out of it and that is what I can offer.
1118  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Does China have a large part in the world of cryptocurrency? on: September 06, 2017, 12:38:33 PM
For the mere fact that a news from China could shake the entire crypto industry is enough to know the influence the Chinese have on bitcoin and this has been happening even since time past when they ban exchange sites, the effect was equally felt until the time when bitcoin can grow out of such news, we still have a long way to go.
1119  Other / Off-topic / Re: Would you give bitcoin as a wedding gift? on: September 06, 2017, 10:46:31 AM
I voted yes because its what I will do for a couple who I know is open minded in that even though he does not know about bitcoin now, it does not mean he wouldn't in the future and when that happens the say 0.01btc I am giving him today would have worth more in 5 years if that's how long it will take him to understand the importance of what I have just given him as gift.
1120  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: How do you keep track of your wins/losses ? on: September 06, 2017, 09:06:13 AM
I really don't engage in a lot of coins at the same time, so its pretty much easy for me to track them as I can by default know the amount I bought, the current price, and what price I intend to sell. For someone dealing in large stocks of coin would need a tool to make that possible.
