Didn't catch the fight between Barrios and Ugas, but based from what I read it and I was also a bit surprised that Barrios was able to knock Ugas down twice. And it's a UD decision as all the judges had a wide margin win for Mario Barrios, making him the WBC interim 147 lbs champion.

So it's possible that he might be fighting Crawford who was in the attendance for the regular belt. However, I don't see Crawford want to fight him. It's not that he is afraid of Barrios or what, but he is looking for money fight and he had a rematch with Spence next year already as Spence already activated that clause in the last minute.

Crawford used his advantage as a rematch against Spence is more profitable than fighting Barrios if the organization will attempt to require him.

I think people will also be more interested in seeing the rematch compared to those who will call for Barrios chance in fighting Crawford, the rematch
is expected to be more exciting as Spence already has that idea of how Crawford executes his strategy.

Now, it's time for Spence to surprise Crawford with his new strategy, something that he needed to improve to regain the belts and bring his
name back on top.

Crawford dominated the fight. Not a single round goes to Spence, I don't see Spence does have a way to mandate Crawford to fight him again uless its on their contract to have a rematch clause. Because its a onesided fight, he will have to crawl up again before he could get a rematch if Terrence even agree.

Errol only has one loss though. It would be a waste if he just won't keep fighting.

The whole microscope is also on Derrick James the trainer, Crawford vs Spence and then now, Canelo vs Charlo. So it's 0-2 for him in championship fights and I see a lot of meme's in social media and questioning his award as trainer of the year.

He didn't motivate Charlo in the corner or give instructions on him. He needs to tell him to throw more punches, however, the trainer couldn't do anything in the ring. And if the fighter didn't respond and so he shouldn't be blame.

Just wondering that Ryan Garcia also change trainer to James after his lost to Tank Davis and there's rumour that he will announced his next opponent in the following week. Maybe he is the bad omen in the gym?  Grin

Anthony Joshua and Ryan Garcia joined Derrick James' stable knowing he's got a unified champion in Errol Spence and an undisputed champion in Jermell Charlo in his gym. But since these two fighters joined James, the flagships of the stable not only lost but were badly beaten by Crawford and Canelo.

Although I believe James knew Charlo's chances against Canelo. The guy is over a year inactive and then moved up two divisions north without a tune-up for Canelo. It was a clear money grab on the part of Charlo who's expected to receive around $5 million in that fight. I believe Jamal tried his best to prepare Charlo but the guy came there to survive and not to win.

It could be like Jermell Charlo might have an idea that he could lose in this fight for sure he has to pick the fight that if he wins or loses he can still get a large amount of profit it is still a win for him win or lose for sure Canelo Alvarez is a big of a deal even though he was defeated by Dmitry Bivol he is still a bigger name for sure in the field of boxing,

Yes, it is absolutely true. In this fight, it definitely looks like he was trying to not get hit instead of hitting his opponent. And his opponent, Canelo, took full advantage of that and actually went really hard. I will say that he did dominate the match. And there was only one winner in this match in the end. For me, the fight between them went exactly as I thought it would. After all, Charlo was not going to win this fight against a fighter like Canelo, especially after having so many disadvantages. I also actually believe that this was definitely a money grab. I can't actually say anything negative about that as well. Because after all the money was good.

If you read the reply above me, then you will notice that in the last minute Spence activated his right to ask for the rematch. No schedule
yet and no weight division as well.

Since it's written from the contract that it's Crawfords' right to choose if what weight he wanted to fight if Spence will ask for the rematch, possible
that Crawford will keep the weight inside 147lbs not sure though as there's no update yet.

Crawford will seek for more money and the rematch can give him that amount compared to what other challenger can bring him, and with that
clause which part of the first deal he doesn't have an option but to fight.

Watch out for this kid, Curmel Moton, a 17 year old protege of Floyd Mayweather.

He moves like a young Floyd, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OoG1nAK_28o. So we will see what the future of his kid will be, he has also been compared to Inoue but he said that he is bigger and stronger than Inoue. Definitely worth someone to wait in the next 5 years and for sure with Floyd as his mentor, he will be a champion.

I see the similarity, though I don't think he'll be able to become the next Floyd Mayweather. We will likely see him in a lower division, as he is a short boxer. Currently, he only stands at 5'2", so the moment he becomes a pro, most likely he'll just fight in the bantamweight division or super bantamweight division.

Maybe he can still have some growth spurt as he is still very young. But most likely will be like 5'4" to 5'5". But regardless of his height though, lots of promises from his boy specially Mayweather taking him on his wings. And it's a good sign for the career of Curmel. I mean Floyd also help Tank Davis early and he is now one of the most electrifying boxer and he bring a lot of money too in his fight and could be the cash sow in the lower weights. So yes, we will see if Moton could be a hype only or bust or will become a true superstar in the ring.

With Floyd guidance I mean interest on him, it's possible that we will see more about this young fighter, comparing him with the legend I'm with the way he will make money out of his name, that's the best thing after gaining popularity. Floyd can easily market him in the lower division and if his skills will continue to rise for sure, interest from fans and promoters will be achieved.

More hypes means more money for Floyd and him. The future is great if you have something like this on your back.

Small but terrible.

This young boxer had been in many fights before that pro debut. Technical boxer like Floyd Mayweather but he has the punch that can knock down his opponents just like in the video although I don't think he cannot make them sleep.
It's good though as long as he has the stamina and I like the aggressiveness from the start of the fight. That jab was so accurate that it made his opponent fall down.
Yes, the future of him looks good as long as he can keep up winning more of his bouts.
He looks small for a featherweight division but I found out that he said he would be willing to fight a taller fighter. That's nice to hear. Even Mayweather called out Leigh Wood (WBA featherweight champion) to try his guy Moton.

It's hard to really know how good of a trainer Derrick James really is. Charlo and Spence have had very good careers but much of that is due to Haymon's influence and being able to have complete control of 147 and 154. If Crawford hadn't been iced out by PBC both of their reigns might have ended much sooner.

Accurate amateur statistics are very difficult to find. Even what is shown on BoxRec is incomplete. According to various online sources, Moton had anywhere between 59 and 156 amateur victories.

His pro debut was very typical of any prospect. It won't tell us much about how good he will be. Because of his size and who his promoter is he will be compared to Tank Davis. Moton doesn't seem to have Tank's devastating power so that is something that Floyd will have to take into account and match him intelligently until he is ready for better opponents.

His height two might be a big problem for him, at 5'2'', he might not reach that further in weight class. However, for sure he has heard this already and is mentally prepared not to be affected by it. And with Floyd take him under his wing, his confidence grows as evident in that fight wherein he knock his opponent out and then the media goes crazy on this kid. Hopefully, since he is just 17 years old, still very young he will still grow and if he reaches like 5'6" and mature at that height then he be like Manny though, same height with heavy hands but he will be more on the defensive style like his mentor.

And as good as Floyd is, he also have a knack on fighting talents at a very young age, if I'm not mistaken a nephew or his or grand kids is already in boxing and showing some skills already. There are video of this kid as young as 5 years old with Floyd in the ring with him, cute by wait in 10 years he could be a representative to US Olympics and maybe bring gold for them.

It was a clear money grab on the part of Charlo who's expected to receive around $5 million in that fight. I believe Jamal tried his best to prepare Charlo but the guy came there to survive and not to win.

And there are reports that his brother Jamal will also wanted to get his hands against Canelo, but I doubt that they will do that. Of course, it's totally different fighters, although twins, and Jamal fight at 160 lbs, so he is just 8 lbs north of the Super Middleweight, I don't see him as a threat or someone that can beat Canelo. So it will be the same outcome for me, either UD or KO win by Canelo.

As for the Derrick James, Ryan Garcia has already a name opponent next, and it's not that good boxer, not even in the list of Jr welteweight or not being rank there. What's interesting though is that there are legal battles between Garcia and his promoter ODLH, not sure what has transpired because suddenly Ryan has a fight in schedule already. Maybe they have settled their difference and Ryan just waiting for this contract to end with Golden Boy and not get himself into some kind of legal trouble.

He is definitely a young prodigy and going to grow up to be a very good fighter. I think as long as he can keep focused and also stay away from drugs, it is going to be good for him and his career. He will also have a very good career if he can do that. But he definitely should not start being overconfident and cocky about it. He should know about what he can do and what he can not.

What I am trying to say is he should not pick a fight that he cannot win. He should pick his fights carefully and wisely. After he is able to beat the opponent that is not the best, he can move on to beat the best, because that will prepare him to go up against those great fighters. Unless he just "Mike Tyson" this shit and just go after everyone.

That's not how boxing works, of course you always wanted to remain undefeated. But it is not a sign of a great and legendary career. Look at Manny Pacquiao and other greats before him, they have losses in their record and even if Floyd is 50-0, there are boxing pundits that put him behind Manny Pacquiao's career. But that is up for another debate though. Even the boxer you mentioned, Mike Tyson was upset by Buster Douglas.

And probably that's where the similarity starts with Inoue as well as he is also being compared to the Monster. So if by chance he is really that good and not pure hype, he could go to the bantamweight and super bantamweight and dominated it like Inoue.

Seems everyone is now hype on this kid though, and I do agree that the media and boxing community will watch how this kid grow into a champion or if he can really reach superstar level like his mentor Floyd. But we can all agree that he has the potential and as I have said, only time can tell if he can be that great in the lower division (unless he grows).

It is true that Crawford dominates the fight against Spence but I think there is always room for adjustment.  I believe Spence has learned his lesson well during their fight and might change his tactics against Crawford.  I believe Spence had triggered the rematch clause.  There are articles that is circulating on the internet that Spence wanted a rematch and possibly take the fight on the 154 lbs.

Quote
The former unified welterweight champion has activated his rematch clause to set up another fight against Terence "Bud" Crawford, Spence's trainer, Derrick James, confirmed to ESPN on Thursday. The rematch likely will take place at junior middleweight, marking the debut for both fighters in the 154-pound division.
source

But then Crawford will have the decision for the weight division.

Quote
According to the bi-lateral rematch clause, the loser could initiate a rematch but it would be the winner who would determine the weight for the second meeting and Crawford could technically force Spence to cut to 147 one more time. A move up in weight would likely leave all four welterweight world titles vacant.

I have seen a lot of sane people taking and it's something that has happened when they were doing really good with their life. Sometimes it was bad influence. And sometimes it was them having some family troubles. This can also happen because you wanted to just taste it. And once you taste it, you are hooked.

Of course, I don't think to have a legendary career, you cannot be beaten even once. Mohammed Ali was the greatest boxer of all time for sure. He did not have a clean record as well. I believe Mike Tyson is right behind Mohammed Ali, and he also did not have a zero loss career. Floyd Mayweather might have no loss. But he is definitely not better than Muhammad Ali or Mike Tyson. But in this day and age, everyone wants perfection. It is definitely going to be better if he does not lose even once. But one thing he cannot do for sure is that lose in the early fights of his career.

Josh Warrington vs Leigh Wood tonight.

This is going to be a interesting fight, Wood is the slight favorite to win this fight as he will defend his WBA featherweight. So this is a domestic rivalry between the two, so I expecting that this fight is going to be great and entertaining for the fans.

But I might go with the underdog here, Warrington though, I think he will go to the body and uses his volume punching to outwork the champion.  Smiley
