221  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-08-28] Bitcoin Breaks Above $7,000 as Crypto Market Rallies Into Green on: August 28, 2018, 05:43:27 PM
Crypto markets are seeing strong positive momentum bolster a persuasive recovery, as Bitcoin (BTC) breaks above the $7,000 price point and all but 3 altcoins amid the top 100 cryptocurrencies post strong gains on the day. Growth among the top ten largest assets ranges between 4.5 to almost 20 percent, as Coin360 data shows.

Bitcoin (BTC) is trading at around $7,016 at press time, up around 4.2 percent on the day, according to Cointelegraph’s Bitcoin price index.

The top coin has seen several days of recovery since its brief price dent August 22 in the wake of toughened anti-crypto measures in China and a fresh series of disapproval orders for several Bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs) by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). 222  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: ETH ready to bounce back? on: August 28, 2018, 05:30:38 PM
Not only Etherum I believe every coin will bounce back
Even bitcoin is bouncing back

And Etherum has been steady of late with good movements
Also Etherum should go towards 1000$ by the end of the year

Is it a prediction or speculation? I think $1000 for Ethereum before the year ends is not possible. Maybe it could be in the early first quarter of 2019, that is if Ethereum will repeat what it did in the early quarter of this year when its price hit an all-time high of $1,417.38 last January 2018 based on coinmarketcap.com data.
223  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Who will be the new king on: August 28, 2018, 05:16:27 PM
Now the mainstream currency, BTC-ETH, has the upper hand, and they have the strength and technology, but the future is likely to be a new project to replace them more mature and more comprehensive. What do you think it would be?

It will never happen, I think. Bitcoin can’t be dethroned by any newer cryptocurrency, not this year or the years beyond. Even Ethereum has no such capabilities and/or potentials to replace Bitcoin. One of the reasons is, Bitcoin has the most developers at the protocol level as there were around 430 different developers contribute to Bitcoin, which is nearly 3 times the number of developers as the Ethereum, the second largest cryptocurrency had.
224  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Manipulating the price of coins? on: August 28, 2018, 04:55:10 PM

I think that only large investors can manipulate the price of cryptocurrency.

I completely disagree. Maybe you did not read the news and you hurriedly jumped out with your conclusion. When the news broke out about the Bitcoin Price Manipulation in 2017 and surfaced in the different online media outlets, the US Justice Department has started a criminal probe into the matter.

"The investigation is focused on illegal practices that can influence prices -- such as spoofing, or flooding the market with fake orders to trick other traders into buying or selling, said the people, who asked not to be identified because the review is private. Federal prosecutors are working with the Commodity Futures Trading Commission, a financial regulator that oversees derivatives tied to Bitcoin." See more for yourself here.
225  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is Bitcoin Legal? on: August 27, 2018, 03:28:10 AM
Bitcoin is legal. Bitcoin is a good investment instead of other investments and bitcoin is uses as payment method.

Not exactly true. I think it depends on the country where you stay or where you live. For the records, there are around 150 countries (more or less) where the status of Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies are legal. In some countries, the use of bitcoin is banned, while in other countries, the operations of bitcoin exchanges are allowed but they have to be duly registered with the government.

226  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Is it legal to sell bitcoin for cash ? on: August 27, 2018, 02:50:56 AM
I think it depends on the country you're in or you live if there's existing law that prohibits the sale or use of bitcoin then you must abide on that so as to avoid prosecution. I guess there are around 150 countries where bitcoin and all cryptos are legal.
227  Economy / Speculation / Re: Why Some Bulls Expect Bitcoin to Fall Below $5,000 Prior to Big Rally on: August 27, 2018, 01:52:42 AM
Well, ber months is coming (Septem-ber, Octo-ber, Novem-ber, and Decem-ber) so tighten your seat-belt for a barrage of cooked FUD news to come like this one. I guess this is just some sort of tactics employed by the so-called Bitcoin Whales who owns 40 percent of the market to once again rakes millions of dollars before the year ends as what they did last year.
228  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-06-03] Bitcoin Mining Operation Powered by Hydroelectric Dam in Q4 2018 on: August 26, 2018, 03:50:53 PM
A California-based Bitcoin mining company has completed work on a repurposed hydroelectric dam to service its new mining farm, a press release announced Thursday, August 23. DPW Holdings will now prepare to use the dam, which is located in Valatie Falls, New York, as the source of electricity for its yet-to-be-built mining facility towards the end of 2018. See more for yourself here.
229  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: Are the Green Days back ? on: August 24, 2018, 02:01:42 PM
May we will have some green days, but it will be on very short period of time. IMHO whole market will continue falling. I think this downtrend will end only in the middle of the next year.

Well, it's Green Day today. The majority of coins in the top 100 in CoinMarketCap led by Bitcoin were all green. Bitcoin is up by 1.67 percent and valued at $6,558.40. Its market capitalization is $112.9 billion today. Trailed by Ethereum at 1.53 percent, valued at $277.46 and with a market capitalization of $28.1 billion. Next is XRP at 1.03 percent and it's traded at $0.325742 with a market capitalization of $12,8 billion.

230  Bitcoin / Press / [2018-08-24] Another Japanese Company Developing 7nm Bitcoin Mining Equipment on: August 24, 2018, 05:54:17 AM
Besides GMO Internet, another Japanese company is working on producing 7nm mining equipment. Triple-1 has been working on its 7nm bitcoin mining chips and expects to start shipping the equipment in November, shortly after GMO expects to start shipping its 7nm miners.

Triple-1 Co. Ltd., a Japanese company established in November 2016 and headquartered in Fukuoka, engages in ASIC chip development and cryptocurrency mining farm construction. The company began looking into developing 7nm bitcoin mining chips in February last year. This week, Triple-1 confirmed that it has completed “the silicon wafer, the sample-chip, the sample-board and the prototype-unit of the mining [7nm] ASIC chip ‘Kamikaze.’” See more for yourself here.

232  Economy / Speculation / Re: Are you one of those who think that BITCOIN will not rise this year? on: August 22, 2018, 03:59:03 PM
Are you one of those who think that BITCOIN will not rise this year?
Some may think like that because of it's performance. But according to experts and analysts, BITCOIN is not for the weak hands.
If you do crypto as a source of living then this is not the best place for you, but if you are here because you believe that BITCOIN is a revolutionary kind of money then you're on the right track...  You know bitcoin will rise ;-)

I still holding Bitcoin in my wallet because I believe Bitcoin will rise before the year ends, but not as high as it did on December 17, 2017. But, what about the news circulating in the different media outlets last June 2018 that Bitcoin's meteoric boom may have been largely due to manipulation? Here's one of those media outlets, https://www.cnbc.com/2018/06/13/much-of-bitcoins-2017-boom-was-market-manipulation-researcher-says.html
233  Bitcoin / Legal / Re: Will Bitcoin will be declare as legal or not ? on: August 22, 2018, 11:15:01 AM
My understanding is that the usage and/or status of Bitcoin in India is legal as it is not yet decided by the court as they gave the government until September 11 to respond to all petitions... "India’s Supreme Court heard the petitions against the crypto banking ban by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) today. After hearing some arguments from both sides, the court decided to set another hearing date, allowing some of the regulators involved to respond to the petitions." See more for yourself here.
234  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price prediction for August, September, and up to December 2018 on: August 22, 2018, 10:47:41 AM
Perhaps it would be better to summarize this info into that:
August:-11.2%
September:+5.7%
October:+16%
November:-14.9%
December:-16%

Yes, that's great and look better, and easy to understand.

This is just a price prediction with no analysis.

That is true. I was searching for their analysis if any on their homepage, and I found nothing. However, I found something interesting about their Methodology that says, "Our specialists use mathematical and statistical methods of prediction based on the existing historical data. They take into account the following factors with varying degrees of importance: cyclic recurrence, knowing correlation of market indicators, changes in the availability and attractiveness of the instrument for speculators, electronic and algorithmic trading growth, regulatory intervention degree and frequency of significant events over time."

235  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Are bounty managers to be blamed? on: August 21, 2018, 04:32:43 PM
Bounty Managers are not part of the Project Team, that's what I know. I think they are like us, being paid off our rewards once the project is finished. Once the project failed or turned out SCAM we don't get our rewards and the campaign managers don't get theirs too! In the first place, we are not experts (managers included) to detect and/or if an ICO Project is a scam. The manager job is supervision, us is the promotion of the project. Just my 2 cents.
236  Economy / Speculation / Re: Will Bitcoin hit $60k in 2019? on: August 21, 2018, 01:50:26 PM
Last year, Bitcoin hit $20k from $10k in may be a week or two. So nothing is impossible.

Yes, that's true and it's on record Bitcoin hit $20k on December 17, 2017. However, that achievement of Bitcoin I think will never happen again. According to research conducted by a University of Texas finance professor John Griffin, that half of the jump in bitcoin was due to coordinated price manipulation. "Fraud and manipulation often leave footprints in the data and it's nice to have the blockchain to track things," Griffin told CNBC. See more for yourself here, https://www.cnbc.com/2018/06/13/much-of-bitcoins-2017-boom-was-market-manipulation-researcher-says.html

237  Economy / Speculation / Re: Bitcoin price prediction for August, September, and up to December 2018 on: August 20, 2018, 05:50:36 PM
Where did you copy that from? these valuations are obviously too low. This is is what the website is saying for me right now:

~snip~ to save space...

So either something went wrong when youcopy pasted and some sort of weird conversion happened on these values or the site was bugged when you copypasted it. Notice your numbers also lack the $ sign, very strange. What im missing here?

Weird, very strange? Perhaps you missed something or you simply did not read all the context. The source and the link are there, and yes, I copied and pasted it, and I highlighted the reason why, "According to The Economy Forecast Agency, the following are their Bitcoin price prediction for August, September, October, November, and December 2018." That was their predictions, not mine. Do I have the right to alter what was there?

239  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Does crypto offer riches overnight? on: August 20, 2018, 01:42:36 PM
Crypto is one of the avenues of getting rich yet it should be understood that it does not happen overnight. Getting rich in crypto requires a lot of dedication, hard work and patience. People do not see the essence of crypto investment because they want to get rich quickly, hence, hurriedly invest in projects that follow the pump and dump trend.
Remember, one key to success is patience.

Yes, that's true. Because crypto is not a Get-Rich-Quick Scheme or a Ponzi type of investment that promises great returns overnight or so. Crypto by definition is risky as it's highly volatile, so the rule is, invest only what you can afford to lose. However, crypto (and blockchain) I think is the best thing that ever happens to our lives and so we need to educate ourselves in order to reap its potentials. As one investor says, "it's the only investment or betting opportunity wherein a poor person can leverage skill and luck and literally become a millionaire." Just my 2 cents. Cool
240  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: the altcoin will recover again ?? :( on: August 19, 2018, 07:26:34 AM
I just hoping altcoin would recover, but I can't predict when. At the time of writing, Altcoin (ALT) is down at 3.22% percent over the past 24 hours, and currently trading at
$8.24 and ended with a market cap of $1,015,387 million. So, let's just hope for the best on the future of this crypto. Is it the right time to buy ALT at this price of $8.24?
