81  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Viewpoint of a fan gambling on: February 05, 2024, 07:01:05 PM
Many people question this, I think it's quite simple and there may be two choices that gamblers can take if their favorite team is faced with an opponent that is stronger overall and proven by its track record. If I were you or I mean if I were in a situation like that then obviously I would prefer to bet on a team that is indeed much stronger overall even though on the other hand it is not my favorite team, but it doesn't matter because it's like you said that we risk our money and the money is the result of our hard work, therefore I think it is the right choice to take the option that is really more likely and has a greater chance in terms of multiplying, This is where we have to be really wise in making decisions, it is not a problem to occasionally rule out or become a traitor to your favorite team by choosing the opposing team to bet on because what we see here is the opportunity to win for our own interests, but I will not be too pushy for anyone to follow this way because everyone has their own choices.

The gambler who can track the record can make the big money in the gambling site, because making money in the gambling site was not the easiest one.The gambler should suppose to bet on the strongest team to make the money by betting. The gambler always start to betting by the mind of making money from the gambling site. But the set of gamblers will support their own team and star irrespective of their winning.

Because their opinion towards their own team was more compared to the opponent team in the gambling site.So they prepared to betting on the favour of their star, this was the common one among the gamblers in the gambling site. Some gamblers will betting both on their favourite and opponent team based on the game day to make money.
Believing on your favorite team is a 'Fan thing' to do no matter how huge odds are or how big the mismatch is, that supports the idea that they are your favorite team, so it is whether they lose or win in their game. However if you will be a gambler then it would make sense betting on the opposite team in my opinion simply because money is being concerned in that aspect and no one will question your admiration to your team in such way, it is more of being practical and logical. I think a gambler could not be both a fan and  bettor because there will be times you will choose the edge of winning over your biases in particular with players or teams. Doing both such as pushing your bet with your team, even if disadvantage is obvious, will more likely just result to a loss. One reason here is still seeing the disadvantage despite of your innate bias with the team you look forward with. If it is just a fair game then you won't view the match in such way, right?
Has a point but believe it or not, some gamblers would risk everything for their favorite team or player and nothing's wrong with it as well. We just all have the freedom on how will we view a match up and bet on it. For people who bet on their favorite despite of odd difference or matchup disadvantage, it is not about winning alone but being  fan also. What separates things is the word "favorite" which is in general and having no boundaries on win-loss record or future statistical performance; they will be staying on that team because they are believers of those teams or players.

But if you are a gambler who is into profit over admiration, then that's just okay also. We are the ones to pick our own poison. In the middle of confusion and lack of assurance on which team you would bet then it is fine as well to just watch and avoid betting. Maybe it is the mindset we should be changing when we are gambling and not the idea of picking the right bet. We always have the option to skip and wait for things where we would be comfortable betting our money with.
82  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The scam of FAKE fixed matches on: February 05, 2024, 06:29:01 PM
~
What's the catch?
Well... This match doesn't exist. Perhaps the teams will sound a little plausible, but then they will say [U23], which means that you can't bet on such a match anywhere.
The whole allure of this scam is to actually put your money in THEIR recommended bookmaker because it's going to be the only one accepting bets on this otherwise fictional match.
And then you'll be met with the harsh reality that this bookmaker only actually takes deposits, no withdrawals!
~

Grin I can't help but admit that this is a very clever scam. This reminded me of a story where a couple of years ago someone created a fake cricket league in India where actors played the roles of players, and scammers collected bets on the outcomes of such staged games.
In such stories, besides the ingenuity of the scammers, what also surprises me is that there are always people who fall for such nonsense, although minimal research should have turned them away from interacting with such shady companies.
Not familiar with the instance you have mentioned but I am more amazed by it given that there were acting done just just to pull up the scam which proves that scammers will do anything even the craziest ideas, just to get what they want. People being fooled with things involving money isn't a new thing right? And same viewpoint I have with this topic or discussion. I am a bit one of those who wants to laugh a the victims of fixed matches 'coz for me it is unfair. Those who would be betting on the opposite team of the biased, will be taken advantage of. Unfair that the ones who are playing things with fair and just are ones who will lose just because everything is scripted.
Truly that fixed matches scam is very common among telegram users,  I can't imagine how people fell to this simple trick of scam, how can I get some fictitious scores from anonymous individuals telling me to pay some money for some fixed matches honestly that is a red flag to me I can never subscribe to that type of channel because I knew from onset is a scam  infact majority of the telegram fixed matches providers do ask for upfront payment before they release those fixtures I believe that is blatant lie of course some of after receiving payment they consequently blocked their subscribers or release a fake fixture saying it's a sure one.
Greed and laziness would be able to explain the existence of fixed matches. Many people are interested with easy ways to earn money and this is what bad people are looking forward to. Gamblers who are thirsty of an easy win are their main targets. I don't get the part of disregarding personal passion because of money, even if there will be people who would be cheated on. Some gamblers took their life out of frustration and would you guys blame me if I'd see people who buys match fixing, murderers in such way?
83  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Management on: February 05, 2024, 05:50:39 PM
I often run out of funds due to gambling that is too blind in terms of placing $$ on every bet I make and ends up losing. I do multi-bets and single-bets, every time I win, sometimes I forget myself and use all my $$ on the next bet. This sometimes gives me big wins, but if I'm unlucky I can lose all my funds and this has happened many times.

I started to realize and change my habits. Now I use $$ from the profits from the previous bet to place the next bet and save my initial capital.

What do you think, is this good and can help me overcome losses that will occur so that $$ remains safe and can be used in future betting? Are there other unique ways that you can use to grow your money in gambling? feel free to comment. Thanks

Do you have a Bankroll on your bets? If yes, then you don't have a problem to begin with, what you need to tackle is that "forget" you talk about. If you are serious gambler, you can't say you forgot and misuse money that you are meant to keep if indeed you value the practice of management in gambling, you need to deal with that first and then we will now talk about your gambling techniques. Single bet is the easiest way to win but you can only enjoy it when you have much more, multiple is risky but if you play well with your options, you will make 5x times of what you can make in single bets in a month, only if you are good in it.

I'm a the type that love multiple bets but u do them when I know that it will be favorable and I have win many times than I have lose them. What you need to know is that even if others share you their ways of gambling, you can't fully grasp it untill you have experience it and you will have to lose in the process. Instead of trying new ways, why not improve on your techniques and the clean the mistakes you repeat all the time.
I think he won't be helped with strategies to win, given that there's no such thing which will guarantee it in the first place. Obviously, he is in need of strategy to avoid losing everything that he has including both bankroll and profit. And as we all know, best thing to do is to improve self-discipline and not only bankroll management. In sportsbetting as an example, you will be offered with various matches and you happened to be only familiar and interested with the last 2 matches, what would you do? In may instances, gamblers would be seeking to bet on each game than to just bet with who you are familiar with. Well, no assurance of winning eitherway however, risk is for sure less with the team you know things about simply because you would be able to gauge which team between the match up, is more likely to win. Same thing goes, but not exactly the same, with other games. If it is pure luck based games, you will be having trial bets and if things are not going too well, then you might consider taking a break. Do some trial bets with small amount, I think this will help as well.
84  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: stop the unnecessary blame on gambling whenever you get unlucky on: February 04, 2024, 09:01:41 PM
of course what you say is true, some have fun and celebrate and some lose and suffer, in gambling it is a gathering place for rich and poor people, the rich tend to be more likely to win and they have a higher chance of winning than the rich, I say it because usually the rich don't really care about the bets they play while the poor are too afraid of risks, do you think this is fair?
it's fair if it's simpoor vs simpoor
rich people vs rich people
Well, in a logical viewpoint, rich people has a higher tendency of winning than average to poor individuals. Why? bigger your bankroll means more chances of betting and more chances of winning. With poor gamblers or ones who don't have that much they will only be able to bet a few times depending on their winning percentage. This is not to limit things, many people who are financially deprived  managed to win and turn things towards their lives. We are not playing against other players tho' but rather with your chances of winning and bankroll management in order to be profitable in the long run. Poor gamblers or gamblers having nothing much if financial freedom would be normally has higher nervousness but that doesn't mean that they are afraid to risk 'coz if that's the case they won't be even in this activity we re having in the first place.

And with random blaming or transferring of frustrations to objects or surroundings, then that won't be valid except for the fat that it could be one's reason to cope up with negative emotions. It is also a safeguarding technique used by them to not hurt their ego that they have lost that much from this industry.
85  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: If you spent $500-$1000 on bitcoin in 2009-2010 on: February 04, 2024, 08:27:00 PM
Would be in huge profit for sure but I still won't blame them from doing so especially that time. We also have the regrets simply because we already saw how it showed the potential of of it. If you can take  back time, what would you do? Take note that it's value before is not as big as with the others. Therefore, they simply disregard the potential this industry is having. A man selling his pizza for a  or in exchange of his holdings that has nothing much if a value before. But since by now we saw already its peak price increase based on previous market price milestones. It might be too late for other investors but for me nothing's too late. The price is still below its previous all time high which should create enough validation with things that we could still ride the tide. Sometimes it is not only with one's silly decision, give him the benefit of the doubt that he had a strong reason from doing so. That's his money by that time in the first place and for sure he is one who have learned from it at the present. For now, Wait for the right entry point 'coz right now consolidation and demand are around and there are still tendencies for another price correction which we should be waiting to happen.
86  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: If a addict lives within, which method would you choose to help them on: February 04, 2024, 07:49:27 PM
Depends on his/her personality. To some people being authoritarian would work more but to some it would be better to be gentle with them. But in most instances, it would be better not to push things givej that addiction is the concern with the mentioned subject or family member. Given that it is addiction, being harsh and forcing them to quit won't solve the problem. It will just possibly result to another conflict which is between the two of you. What you need to do is to understand the situation of him and not on your perspective alone. Things are not easy for people who are suffering from addiction. Of course everyone knows it is bad to gambling too much so they won't be in such state for nothing and that's what you need to understand.

Take it with small steps. Isolate and give companion on his end to enjoy time and eventually forgot the drive he was having with gambling. Things won't happen in an instant. Keep in mind that it is a family member to you which means you need to consider more of his well-being than to be too subjective of what is right and what is wrong that they have done.
Yes, understanding and sensitivity are important, but let's face addiction's facts. Not just a poor habit, but a complex brain disorder. You say to take little steps and be companionable, but are we reaching the mark? People, addiction rewires the brain. It's about dopamine, reward circuits, and other neuroscience that doesn't disappear with handholding. No need to be a dictator, but too subtle a nudge is like speaking into the wind. A good plan and systematic support are needed. We shouldn't vilify all gambling while supporting it. Responsible recreational gambling exists. Joy should be refocused, not taken away. We should be clear-eyed about our situation. It's not just about being there; it's about being there effectively
He probably based on the two options mentioned by OP. Of course if it is being objective then best thing to do is to let professionals do their thing about the case and the rest will be on the procedures and 'treatments' to be done in order for the main subject to escape from addiction. Given that there are conditions such as being a family member, then things should be specified with the coping his family members would do. Choices are to be harsh or to be soft speaking to the addicted member if the family and practically viewing, no addiction will be aided completely with just being strict of how things should be done even if they/he already knows it but still became a victim of gambling addiction.

On my end, I would be preferring a strict or harsh way to help me quit gambling but to other gamblers who are suffering as well with the obsession, being or showing more empathy on them. Quite of a matter between reward and reinforcement and how things should be really done.
87  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Another health benefit of online gambling on: February 04, 2024, 07:02:05 PM
Of course, the problem of gambling is related to health problems, especially for people who like to play physical gambling, but this is not excluded for those who are comfortable with online casinos, often gambling addicts do not really care about their physical appearance, such as rarely bathing, even in the worst cases, they forget about eating, this applies to physical and online gamblers, I noticed it from around my environment
To add, some gamblers are staying up late night and are being deprived of sleep due to stress and frustration in gambling. Bottomline here is that, gambling either online or landbased, would be detrimental to one's health if habits and behaviors won't be controlled. It is not only vices which should be avoided when it comes on gambling, but also the unhealthy lifestyle an individual could adapt because everything is done through online and with convenience. Both platforms could have its own benefit such as socialization, a bit of exercise with some walks if applicable. Again, it will just depend on the gambler himself how he would do things that would either harm or benefit oneself.
The scenario you described could barely be said to be a health benefit of online gambling. Yes, you wouldn’t have to worry about getting some communicable disease from some other gambler when playing online from your home.
But surely, we all come in contact with a lot of people on the bus, train, elevators, malls on a daily basis. Would we avoid going out entirely for fear of getting some disease?

Well, they will still do however it is a matter of direct and indirect contact with those unwanted things. Being a second hand smoker in casinos would be worse than a third hand smoker with public establishments and vehicles in some cases. Threats will be always there and are moving on our daily lives but our task is to avoid them as much as possible, which is why the mentioned point of view is valid on my end. But like with gambling, will not guarantee anything.
88  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How many hours is the best time for a gambler to last while gambling? on: February 04, 2024, 02:31:27 PM
Wins are awesome, but chasing losses is like chasing pigeons in the park – messy and pointless. Set a time limit, like a self-imposed curfew, and stick to it. One hour works for you? Cool! Others might need 30 minutes, or even a quick 10-minute spin. The key is finding your "enough is enough" moment and rocking it.

Think of discipline as your gambling superpower, not a party pooper. It stops you from overspending, chasing bad bets, and turning fun into financial stress. Trust me, your future self will high five you for being a responsible gamer.

Remember, gambling is like the sprinkles on your sundae – fun, but not the whole meal. Keep it balanced, keep it chill, and keep it truly entertaining. And hey, if the urge to gamble like a wild animal ever hits, help is always there. Reaching out ain't weakness, it's bossing your responsible self.
Just depends on gambler's satisfactory with playing time and also depending on the game being played; some games are only consuming minutes while others, for example sports betting, would at least take an hour from you before seeing the result however you may or may not watch the game, but in such way you won't enjoy it. On my end I do play for the whole day but not consistently and continuously. I do often pick some bets with wagering limit, and if all of it lose, then I'd take a break and try betting again after a couple of hours to retry my luck. I cannot apply that limited time for my betting session 'coz in such sense I'd be forced to bet just within the time frame regardless if I would be lucky or not. Just go with what will make you comfortable betting with. We won't be certain of winning regardless of what strategy we use concerning the time we allot in gambling therefore we should at least make ourselves comfortable with of course moderation of the amount we engage. This would make us safe from regrets given that we gambled responsibly and at ease.
89  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Investing in meme coins is worthy or not? on: February 03, 2024, 09:22:42 PM
I am not also a fans of meme coin or project. Well lookin at the domain you will actually see that is just like a new online gaming platform. For me I do not need anything of such. What we should focus on is to accumulate btc for future, and not the other way round. I am terrified by my previous experience and i wouldn't want to fall for such Victim again except you want.
Since most meme coin are just shitcoins that normally die off in the market , this should be the reason why we need not to give meme coins much attention.  Money can easily be lose while investing in meme coin , it is better to invest in a future coin that is reliable that one is sure of gaining profit than trying luck investing shitcoin .     Most shitcoins are scam coins which it is not very good for people to depend on it thinking that they can make profit from it quick.
Well I guess it is with a different market presence with "poop coins". It has a hype therefore it would still be a good consideration especially if you are just checking coins and projects to invest. However, not all memecoins would be profitable. A luck along with thorough analysis of this market will be essential to your decision. One instance is with PEPE wherein before its release to 'higher' exchanges, it has been a loud topic outside this forum. As what we saw, hype alone could make a token without utility, a huge thing which should be the point of consideration for those who have their interest info it. Just don't go all out to avoid regrets if ever you will be making the wrong conclusion. In line with this is preference with the kind of investment. Meme tokens are good but if you are after bigger assurance of winning, then for sure there are the biggest names in this industry which are also showing extreme volatility at this moment.
90  Economy / Economics / Re: Why we should prioritize investment over saving on: February 03, 2024, 08:57:52 PM
Depends on what will work for you best. Some people are not into investments and that is just okay likewise with people who are not into saving. Difference could originate from the mindset ad circumstances an individual is having. If you are having large scale networks and been in investment industry or if your family does, then there's a high tendency that it would be a better option on your end. However if you are not familiar with taking that much of risk with investments then saving is still a good option however, there would be a limitation to the amount you will be getting at the 'end' depending on how much you are putting into it. In a general perspective, everyone dreams of an investment someday but not all people could take the risk and have enough resources to do so. In most instances people are chasing the necessity to make a living therefore excess money is going to savings and worse, nothing to be put eitherway.

Much better to say to prioritize what would work on your 'set up'. Not because others are doing good with investment, you will be guaranteed of the same outcome as them. Always measure the risk and your tolerance as an investor. If you cannot handle that much of doubt then that should already be an answer which pathway should you engage yourself with.
91  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Making too many picks reduces chances of winning. on: February 03, 2024, 08:17:01 PM
As gamblers, we love more action, so we tend to make more bets on a regular basis. However, experts say that when we make too many picks regularly, our chances of winning decrease. This is due to the fact that we won't be able to analyze all the games carefully that are in our ticket and won't have the advantage needed to win. So instead, it's recommended that we should value quality over quantity if we want to succeed in sports betting.

Share your opinion regarding this matter.

Edit : I see that some replies are talking about parlay. FYI, this is not about parlay, it's about making many single picks on a regular basis. Please avoid using parlay when sharing your opinion.
This should be obvious, very often on the altcoin board I see newbies thinking about investing in dozens of coins, and I wonder how do they plan to keep track of so many coins? Since a portfolio application is not enough, they need to keep themselves updated about everything that happens around all of those coins, and their lack of experience does not help either, so I know they are going to fail before they invest into any of those coins, and it is natural that the same principle applies to sport bets as well.
Has a point and the idea of comparison is there however those two are different; betting is different from investing. With gambling, luck is the only thing which will determine whether you will gain profit from your bet or not and with altcoin investment, checking the roadmap and the coin in general helps an investor to draw conclusion if it would be a good idea investing into it. But again, the thought is there.

In gambling, more picks means higher risk. However it depends on the gambler. Some gamblers are betting 4/6 win rate in a single set or sitting, although not on a daily basis but still that is a good win-lose ratio. Focusing in a single bet won't guarantee winning outcome so same thing with multiple bets. Only difference is bigger loss if ever you'd lose but not related with chance of winning. It'll only be reduced in some instances depending on your analogy and this is evident with sports betting although no certainty still with the outcome but it does work often. Whether it is quality over quantity or vice versa, it'l be the gambler's pocket to decide which way should the bets go.
92  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What remarkable thing have you achieved with the money you won from gambling? on: February 03, 2024, 07:11:31 PM
A few days ago, my friend luckily won a bet and have used the funds to open a business for his wife and himself
And that's where my question is coming from because for some, they're into gambling to make money, whereas some gamble for fun, but if luckily for you, and you have won a bet in the past, or luckily, you win a reasonable amount of money, did you achieve something with the money?/will you try to sort out some of those problems that lead you to go into gambling, like using it to establish a business, or did you lavished the money because it was unexpected free money?

I know of a guy living in my street who won a huge amount of money in gambling last year, he lavished the whole money and now came back being broke.

I have seen many too that won big money, but they lavished the money by going to the nightclubs and started living all sorts of luxury life because they didn't stress to get the money. If you are a gambler, you should think about or write down a reasonable or memorable thing you would do with the money in case luckily for you one day you won a huge amount of money in gambling, so you will ever remember where the money did come from.

OP, though I gave not achieved anything with the money I won from gambling, but I know some friends who has done something meaningful with the money they win from bet, one of my friend won 2m of my currency in bet, he use that money to open a business that's helping him out now.

I don't think that it is easy as you said to note down things that you will do when you eventually win money that you are not sure of, this is unlikely situation, his do one go about this, the problem even though you do as you said, you might not still do it as you said because it takes a courageous move to implement a plan.
Things may still change during that moment when you won the jackpot perhaps, depending on the circumstances or your overall mindset that time. You might consider rewarding yourself with things which could be too much. This is also the reason why planning is important' 'coz at least there will be some sort of things you will follow or something that will be your guide which could restrict you more than not having any plans at all. I never experienced winning that much like with most of the users here however I experienced having huge amount of money from different thing. And I became too problematic with my expenses that time which gives me guilt everytime I accidentally think of it.

But if ever I will be given a chance, I'd probably study a potential business that could generate profit. No matter how much money you are having, if you won' engage to something which could make it more, it'll eventually be consumed given that expenses are continuous. Even if investments has no guarantee of profit, at least you try and you could make something more out of it. Perhaps a grocery store or a water station. What's important is to have any to fully make use of the amount than with your 'wants'.
93  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are you a generous gamblers on: February 03, 2024, 04:49:54 PM
Interesting but no. I am generous in my own way. I think these two are different, I would treat some of my friends whenever I have  excess money and not only because I won in gambling. Also treating other people on my end is with moderation and if they are reciprocating it back if not equally, at least sometimes. I don't want them making friends with me because of such feat which is what I avoid. There are times I would be inviting them and times I don't. It is simply subjective and we are not required to do so. If you are a gambler or an individual who is not into generosity then you have your own reason. It won't make you a bad person but of course a good friend to those who knows how to appreciate. If you are also being choosy of people then that is as well fine.
I think there's nothing wrong with being generous, as long as you're not overspending simply to impress somebody else.  That's probably smart when it comes to gambling or whatever.  Though, it's not fair to assume reasons behind another persons actions without knowing their full story.  Their motivations could come from honest kindness, wanting to help people out or just saying thanks in their own way.

Who's to judge? If people want to be generous, let them be!

Yes, every attitude is prone to abuse especially if it is being good to other people. Sometimes you could be generous as well to yourself and that rings the same attitude. What's bad is to require other people to do it to you if you yourself don't. All of us are into reciprocation unless if it is with your loved ones that you just want to be a 'provider' to them.
94  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling addiction does more harm than mere financial loss on: February 02, 2024, 07:31:53 PM
Those who know what gambling addiction is won't even try to justify it,because from all indications,it does more harm than good.Infact,it does no good.I can't say it is bad to gamble because it can actually restore some people's hope in life, but the truth is that it is not really good for everybody,it is bad for some persons, while it seems good to some persons, depending on the gains you've had since the day you started gambling, but I am judging it from a general perspective that the times we've cried that we lose money due to gambling is greater than the days we've smiled and say indeed gambling is good. This is to tell you that gambling isn't really good for us.
Gambling is only bad when the activity itself is over you as a gambler. Anything which is too much won't be considered good in any way. The way a gambler would handle gambling will determine the result whether it is a considerable activity or something you should stop and avoid. Well for sure we are all aware of the risks involved however if we think of ir, there are still gamblers who are fine with their journey and  that means there is still a chance for it to be considered, with initiative from the gamblers. Whether it is physical or financial loss, everything in gambling should be done with care to prevent worse things to happen.

Substance abuse as you mentioned can be a huge damage to the body, but it has no much difference to gambling. Because no form of pain or sickness is good. Be it mental or body problem the person will not stay comfortable. None of them is encouraged due to the bad behavior it causes to the gambler. On the other hand, a gambling addict may not be efficiently capable to resist chasing loss for some time. The compulsive gambling in him won't let him some few moments away from gambling. A person who is still enabled to control himself at some point in gambling is not addicted. Although such people can get addicted, if their goal is mainly about making money through gambling. That's why gamblers are asked to gamble at a minimal duration and wager smaller funds, which they can be able to lose.

The gambler who loss the money in the gambling site will lose the money and the mental peace in the gambling site. The mental peace was the important one for the gambler, because the gambler real life affect by the mental health. The peace was the important because every gambler will be collapsed on the loss of mental illness. The gambler able to control their game after the loss of their own money, because the money can be earned in the different way.But no one can able to buy the mental health or peace with the money. This was the reason many experienced gamblers were advice the gamblers to play the gambling with free money.
I agree with mental wellness but it wil again fall down to the idea that one's mindset in gambling highly affects the outcome. Other risks and tendencies in the cited situation are possible if in the first place the gambler has been eaten by misconceptions of it. Usually, visions of individuals are to be lucky enough to win things. But as you continue engaging with gambling, you'd realize that variables can still be managed and corrected in the long run.
95  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: To what extent have you hated yourself due to your gambling losses? on: February 02, 2024, 06:49:46 PM
When I suffer lose streaks, that's when I feel like I'm bad in analyzing and I'm not capable become a gambler lol. Even though I only gamble small amount, but lose is still lose, no one want to lose, just like you're playing a competitive games e.g. MOBA or FPS, you're trying to play as best as possible.

Usually I will bet in safer choice to increase the probability to win.
It is the point of realization that you have lost continuously which results to regrets. Losing is not a new thing in gambling and loss is just something you will feel more when numbers are getting that big that it'll literally hurt your bank account not only your bankroll in gambling. The regret I have experienced is when I lost consistently for 3 weeks. Regret originated with the thought that gambling was really not for me. It is because I was chasing profit back then, that I became frustrated in each loss and for some reason it pushed me to play until I win back everything I lost. However, it is not how gambling works and happening to its players.

We would all be in that situation as long as we are here in this industry. It is just fine having regrets which means you are aware of how bad or good your career as a gambler is. What's important is to learn if you are committing mistakes or to accept things and prioritize saving yourself from huge loss. It is normal to chase win however, if you are being too eager of it, you often make wrong decisions driving you too much towards the game.
96  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Are there Casinos that offer Birthday Bonuses to their users? on: February 02, 2024, 03:58:21 PM
Never heard of any. I am only familiar with referral and welcome bonuses 'coz it is more inclusive in most instances but indeed it would be a good thing to have in this industry if there's not a single site still to offer such promotion.
It will be very easy to understand buddy. Like when they will give this bonuses to all user of their casinos then they will also put a hard terms and conditions so that not everyone will receive or can directly withdrawal to their bank account. If the casino added up specific amount of wager requirement then it can be also hard for winning to the users. So it can be also a marketing strategy for casino to give voucher there users as a birthday bonuses.
I have received bonus several times from different casinos but could not win with that bonus money. I don't know why it becomes very difficult to bet with bonus money. I think it is very difficult to win with bonus money.  Hands are behind losing bets. But when I deposit my own money I win bets pretty well.
If this is the case, then probably they are protecting their platforms from abuse and that's just a normal response from them. It could also just be a coincidence given that with birthday bonuses, it will only happen once a year and if you are unlucky for that day then we cannot do anything about the outcome. On my end I would still appreciate it 'coz that's something I won't get on a daily basis. Also, doesn't mean that it is a special day for us, then same thing would be to the gambling site. We are still playing with our chances and fortune therefore we cannot wish for any certainty or assurance of an outcome that will be in favor for us.
97  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: The Psychology of Investing in Bitcoin on: February 01, 2024, 11:53:06 PM

What are your thoughts on this ~ Let's discuss
Is it because of Bitcoin or is it because money is involved which is why we are affected by every pump and dump on its price. However if it is psychology of the market,  view it more as with FOMOs and manipulation. Bigger investors have the upper hand with manipulation of prices. And with news suddenly spreading, it triggers investors to create an action either selling out of nervousness or buying because of FOMO. It is easy to tell how things are really doing behind every actions of each investors. There's even a saying of "Buy the rumors, sell the news" in this industry as well.
The psychology behind Bitcoin is to somehow make money. So how do you make money, It depends on how you treat your bitcoin. If there weren't a chance to earn money through Bitcoin investment, then no one would play with that. So this is the only psychology behind investing in Bitcoin. You may earn by holding and trading as well. Based on your experience, you have to handle your bitcoin in order to make money. Otherwise, you might be a loser.
Somewhat correct but it is not only between trading and holding, there are other ways which is staking and re-investing to projects which has potential. People who invested are more likely expecting and assuming profit but that's a normal thing. Psychology on the other hand is more with actions of investors in every increase and decline; to how will they react and will their actions be justifiable or just driven by their reasons.

Given how volatility works on its price then a mix of emotions will be always expected in the market in general.
98  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Responsible Gambling Practices Most People Ignore and Sleep on on: February 01, 2024, 03:45:01 PM
Since time immemorial, gambling has a negative connotation which is mainly due to the widespread news of repercussions experience of those who abused it. Everything that is too much is harmful after all.
Yes, the widespread of the negative experience of gambling makes some people, ethnic, countries, and religions tag gambling as something harmful to their society while the real result is caused by the gambler's immaturity habit of gambling.
All the factors you listed are good practices to escape gambling addiction or gambling more than we can avoid losing but if a gambler is not mature enough and very conscious to accept or operate with the practice he/she will still be an addict.
Will be always dependent with the gambler as an individual. Will it be right to generalize? There's a high tendency that gamblers are confused of responsible practices and its actualization. As other have mentioned, no gambler is not aware of how dangerous it is to gamble and bet. We're just too hooked that we become unaware of what is actually happening. Domino effect that you will be driven and continue betting until you don't have nothing left with you. Process of addiction I guess but not conclusive to all of the gamblers. It is also applicable to anything that consumes your time that you are too happy doing it. At such state, we disregard ideologies of how things should done.

The most useful recommendations, in my opinion, are the ones you listed first, because setting limits is akin to practicing or training yourself to achieve control over yourself, which involves discipline. When these techniques are followed correctly, there is no room for addiction to enter.

The second option, which is also acceptable to me, is number 5 because the assistance that other gambling groups provide in this area of the crypto realm varies.

Indeed addiction is a different thing. Remember the idea of vices? As a child you won't be dreaming of doing so since you know that it is a  bad thing to do. Then a cliché twist of faith to some, they ended trying or engaging to vices such as smoking. Addiction (assuming exaggeration), will make you a bit irrational given that you know things are bad, wherein in this case gambling too much, however you would still continue with your initiative.
99  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe visiting a seer or spiritual house could make you win a game? on: February 01, 2024, 04:09:11 AM
So I was wondering if there is any connectivity here, or do you believe such could happen in your own situation? Can you do such a thing to win? Have you had the experience of going to such places to seek predictions on how the outcome or results of games could be if they worked in your favor or not? Have you had anyone say or tell you such before and how their experience was?

Let us discuss and share your experience so that people could hear and learn from your  story in the quest for you to win a game that led you to doing or going that extra miles in such engagement.
I don't believe that seers have the ability to predict the outcome of a football matches, because if such was possible, seers would have been the most richest people, but yet most seers are known to live an average life in their respective cities, who can only go about predicting base on the possible statistical H2H record, and nothing much. But that doesn't mean the game night not play if you are lucky enough. But the point I stand to disagree is that that a set gives you a game, it's not a guarantee you must always win. Hence, never gamble more than what you can always afford to lose.
Exactly, they could be the richest people. These are all just beliefs; I am not saying that it has no benefit to to people but if it concerns certainty then I highly doubt. Gamblers who does are just having no other option to fulfill their confidence whenever they are gambling, or to boost their courage to gamble whenever they are seeking for such recommendations. Well, to some it helps them but that's them. It won't be applicable to all people. If they happened to win out of seer prediction then I'd view it as coincidence. Why? If it is always giving them the win then that win, then that would be the time I would believe it is working. But as long as there's no consistency then that would be accounted for the gambler's luck and fortune.
No amount of spiritual power or worship of any spirit or praying in any religious shrine etc will be of any use in gambling as gambling is totally experience and largely based on share. If it was possible to win a bet in gambling by visiting a shrine or worshiping a spirit, then people would constantly go to religious places of worship and be busy in prayer. As far as I am concerned those who are overly greedy and give more priority to emotion have a very low chance of winning gambling bets while those who do not prioritize emotion and are not overly greedy in gambling have a higher chance of winning gambling bets. But I find it unreasonable to believe that any religious worship or visiting a Spiritual House will have any effect on gambling.
No chance at all right?
It is like asking a stranger on which team you would bet. Basically you are paying (if you do) them to take a guess for you and that you will bet on it. Either you win or lose, is it fulfilling? The answer is the same reason why I don't do such thing. Atleast save yourself from the embarassment you could possibly be having from yourself. If you know to yourself that you cannot gamble on your own then what's the need to do so? NEVER be too dependent with such things. Gambling is gambling; it is just your luck against odds.
100  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What are the challenges people who accept bitcoin face in their businesses face on: January 30, 2024, 07:37:35 PM
Probably it is with Bitcoin's market price volatility and overall usage. A business simply needs to revolve the gross on expenses to run the business itself; salary of employees, maintenance, inventory of goods (if you are in retail), and the likes. Imagine accepting Bitcoin payment for the whole week and the market price by that time is high. What to expect? High transaction fees. Then on the following week, the price suddenly declined, and on the same instance, the retail shop is in need of raw products or products to be sold, would you be selling your holdings immediately? That would be resulting to permanent loss. Would you wait? It will be a problem running the business while waiting. This is the possible challenge I view assuming that all transactions will be in BTC. Overall sustainability of the business will be a problem in such conditions. The only instance I would be seeing Bitcoin adoption as a mode of payment for businesses if if it is  stand alone and a service provider that does not require that much of revolving funds to run it. For example, a law firm run by a single attorney. He/She could endure holing as his sacrifice to earn profit once the market recover after a decline. Am I making valid points here?

I saw small proprietorships in my country which tried to do the same thing and unfortunately they eventually closed although not sure of the particular cause but thinking of possibilities then it might have been a factor. So if you are planning to also do the same thing then make sure to do your own research about it. Things won't be easily actualized given that adoption of something which is not common to all of your target market or audiences. Always manage the risk.
