621  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Hope is all I have left on: September 09, 2023, 02:49:44 PM
People should not just buy small amounts of Bitcoin to try to acquire more bitcoins in the future.... you should make the Bitcoin price work for you. I also started out by buying bitcoins on a weekly basis.. but I felt that was the wrong strategy. (You say you can only buy every other month.... and that is forcing you to buy at any price.... )

The best thing to do is to hoard your money and then to wait for the Bitcoin price to go low.... then use all that money to buy at a low price and then when the price goes up... you sell those coins for a small profit and hoard the profit... until the price drop again.... then you buy again. (Just watch the fees ... and only do this if you made a good profit... that are way more than your fees)  Wink

It's really hard to predict Bitcoin's market since everyday there's people buying and selling plus at the same time the events such as economically, politically or international. DCA actually gives you the peace of mind by just having a fixed amount and schedule to buy BTC without a hassle of checking and analyzing the market. Timing when to enter the market is actually good if that's your technique and suitability cause some people doesn't have the time to check the market all time so they would just simply invest at the end of the time. I think this would only applicable to people who does have a lot of time, cause work plus crypto might be draining but investment is a must. Cause I actually do both when I have free time and spare money I would choose this but most of the time its DCAing.
622  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to Control Your Emotions and Win More Bets on: September 08, 2023, 06:02:37 PM
I believe that the brain is the engine on which every other part of our body functions including our fears, anxiety or happiness. When we gamble, the brain send signal on the way we should feel depending on the outcome of the bet. So for example if the bet is a lose then we are likely to feel bad, if we are not sure of the winning potential of our game it is the brain that either make us have that anxiety or fear. So if we are able to get a balance of our emotion due to our winning rate then, we can make more progress and I think that is why sometimes when you are winning then you can be able to continue winning but a lose changes your countenance which also interacts with the brain.

Therefore, a bad feeling may not be good for gambling and that could be the reason addicts lose more than profit.
The theory you put forward is absolutely correct, when we win, our brain will send happy signals throughout our body, and we will become more confident and calm for the next round, but when luck starts to run out and defeat appears, the brain will send frustrated signals. and even anger throughout the body, so managing your thoughts and emotions when gambling is important, don't let your winnings or losses when gambling be caused by your irregular emotions.

some people still have superstitions that they believe in gambling as long as it makes your emotions stable then there's nothing wrong with using it when you gamble.

If I remember it right that it is the Amygdala's work where it sends signals to every parts of your body but when it comes to feeling emotions it should be hypothalamus. It's like watching different genres movies, if we watch horror we feel fear and if we watch romance movies we feel awe, adoration and etc. What do you think the impact of the movie to some people after watching? It influenced them right like some of them inspired to the character and adapts it's attitude and behavior.

Which I think similar to the gambling, whenever you felt bad after losing it would be part of yourself which causes you to make decision that cause you to lose more. That's the thing that must be disciplined and consistent by people if they want to handle their emotions. Cause if they can't manage it for sure it would led to addiction. My solution to this is not bring all your money when you're gonna gambling, just bring a enough amount that if you lose it it wouldn't be a problem and if you won that's good.
623  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: DCA'ing isnt a bad strategy on: September 08, 2023, 05:26:13 PM

What is your opinion?
And and which method do you prefer to be used in this present market conditions?

It's indeed the best way to invest money especially if you want to lowkey invest without worrying of the money you staked, since other techniques probably needs time and knowledge for you to gain profit like checking everyday the market's behavior, trends, hypes and news. I think "Dollar-Cost Averaging" is actually effective especially for starters and it's not consuming on your money as you all you need to do is to follow a certain schedule/money when to invest. Cause other's prefers to invest in a huge amount of money which I think it's really risky you can be a big-time millionaire or in debt so if you want to play safe in crypto maybe DCAing is the best techniques for you. It might take slow but in few years you might be to the moon.
624  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Let's Stabilize Bitcoin on: September 08, 2023, 03:26:25 PM
I don't believe that Bitcoin will ever be stable IMO. If you're looking for stability in crypto, you could simply use USDT or BUSD.

If Bitcoin were to become stable it would lose its investment appeal and it would be like a stable coin with no profit potential. That's not favorable and personally I don't like it and I believe many others share that same opinion.

It would really hard to believe that Bitcoin would be stable with the consumers by just simply buy and sell every time. Plus it's a decentralized system where it would be hard to manipulate and control by the government like the USDT for sure it would be possible for BTC to be stabilized. And I don't see BTC yet as a every day used currency since it is used for investment due to it's volatility where investors take advantage from it. I'm with you with that cause if it's stable it would be hard to get profit. Just like the current market value where Bitcoin almost maintain it's price for months and many people were panicking.
625  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Jakarta is in a pollution emergency, Is it caused by crypto mining? on: September 08, 2023, 02:15:42 PM
Indonesia, especially Jakarta is in a pollution emergency, Many say that this is caused by steam power plants where the fuel is coal. And, sadly I heard also on my social media local that this pollution is also caused by crypto-mining, I debated and rejected it opinion because crypto-mining in Indonesia is not much like other countries where their air is still clean today.

So what do you though, is crypto mining become a big problem of pollution?

Lol! These are just propaganda. It will be better if you can stay out of such things. Indonesia was never much favorable towards crypto mining and if I am not wrong, they do not have much mining facilities either. So when someone say such loose words, there's some vested interest for sure!

Crypto mining surely causes pollution but that is quite less when compared to other industries and thermal power plants. Why blame crypto mining alone!

Well for sure the one posted it is a Bitcoin hater as they find negative sources that could connect to Bitcoin. I mean there's a lot of things that we could consider that might causes the pollution for example vehicles run by gas, non-eco friendly energy sources and a lot more. And also I believe that most of the crypto miner has a safe facility that could help like solar panel. Pollution is actually a big deal to most countries not only in Jakarta and I agree that there's a lot of factory that didn't meet a safety procedure and too hazardous wastes, it's like blaming someone's crime to anyone.
626  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Trading bots... do they work? on: September 07, 2023, 04:28:43 PM
If it's a bot that could guide you for newbies in some exchanges its pros and cons is probably the accuracy as if it gives a right and wrong results. Use bots if you have enough knowledge to set it up on how you trade but doesn't mean it would always gives you profit. But if it's a third party bot that you need to install saying that it could give you passive profits, for sure it's a scam. Some of them would literally give you profits for starters but in the long run it would ask for you money as subscription for you to extend the bot service. By simply this reason it would be better to rely on your brain and intuition rather than an AI.
627  Economy / Economics / Re: To afford personal education or a property? Where to allocate funds? on: September 07, 2023, 03:11:42 PM

You will allocate more to other investment schemes that you think will grow your capital. But if you are not a rich person but instead come from a poor family and your only hope is education to get out of the poverty you are facing, you will surely prioritize spending money on your education. This is, practically speaking, based on my opinion.

However education is not the only gate way to richness because some rich people who were not educated are now fixing themselves into schools or some just by their certificate from the school and that is it. Like if a CEO of an organisation only pays for school fees and other school requirements as a student but he doesn't attend classes for study of the course he registered for and at the end of the program he is called out for certificate award, it means he bought the certificate. So my point is education is not the only way to richness but except you are sure paying the fees is guarantee for job at the end because there are job loss across.

It really depends on the person's skills and talent, if he find that for him to reach his goal by having a degree then he would choose to education, but if it's unnecessary then that's fine. I find that people here in my country differentiate successful person if they graduated with a degree which is not. We all have different achievements that can be consider as successful. There's a lot of millionaires that attain their success without certification cause they think that it's a waste of time and they are already knowledgeable enough plus they can learn on their own. But if you're aiming for a secure corporate job as an employee, you could go for education since a lot of companies are looking for graduates.

628  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: presuring someone into Bitcoin investment on: September 07, 2023, 02:18:21 PM
If they agreed to join the cryptocurrency trading, then help them how to trade the cryptocurrency.Because they are going to inverse their hard earned money, you should not give any financial advice to anyone. The most important for the trader is they need to wait till the price back to the all time high for profit.
How do you intend to help one to trade?? Is by telling the person what to do in trading or you take the trading upon yourself by trading for the person and what if the trade don't come out with a good result,  what will be the expectation of the person.  You can decide to share some trading knowledge with the   person,  the persons interest on trading should trigger him/her to go further to get to more knowledge. I don't really buy the idea to help a beginner to trade rather it is better to share helpful tips that can the person to trade.

We can agreed to help someone through a process but also they will have to develope interest in going through the process of what we are bringing to them to make the whole thing a perfect job well done, there's nothing too big about learning something new, we can trade or do other things we so wish with bitcoin, but we should never forget that there's always a demand for everything we do in cryptocurrency, this is why it is required of us to go through the normal procedure in acquiring the best deserving knowledge for it.

By giving them the idea to find opportunity into Bitcoin is already considered as helping, but it shouldn't be like a spoon-fed where almost every move and decisions are still up to you since you are more knowledgeable and you're the one introduced them into Bitcoin. It would really depends on the person if it picks their attention and interest if they would put effort to really understand what you meant by introducing BTC. Process is really important cause without that probably they wouldn't learn anything especially the experience that would help you in this industry. Let them learn on their own pace and their own techniques to learn I agree that tips would but almost do trade for them is not a good thing to do.
629  Economy / Economics / Re: Are you risking investment in other things? on: September 06, 2023, 02:55:39 PM
I have bitcoin, some alts & a couple of real estate properties. I am not interested in diversifying into anything else. The majority of my net worth is in bitcoin & I intend to keep it that way. The current price will look like chumps change in a couple of years.

And some alts. I think that investing in some alts is a good idea. It doesn't have to be a big investment, depending on someone's possibilities, but setting aside 5% (more or less) for some interesting projects can pay off in the long run. And there are some good projects around that have a nice potential. In every bull run some new alt makes incredible progress.
Indeed, I do not recommend anyone to invest in altcoins as they are riskier than bitcoin, but it would not be so bad if we just invest a small part of our capital in them. Although altcoins have great risks, if we choose the right coin, it is clear that its profits will be very significant compared to bitcoin. Many people only focus on bitcoin and think that all altcoins are useless, which is really a waste because they are missing out on bigger opportunities.

We invest in cryptocurrencies to make profits, so we should not be too stubborn and ignore opportunities outside of bitcoin. As long as we invest a small amount, it will not cause too much damage to us.

There's nothing wrong to invest at altcoin it would really depends on the coin you would invest with, cause for me I've invested in altcoin before but only for a quick-flip it's not much but I've still profit. But still it's not advisable for a long term investment due to its volatility is random like it really depends on the project some would literally rugpull it. Well I agree that maybe your spare capital or money maybe you could try small amount first for your own experience to altcoins if it suits for you so you can compare it to Bitcoin, what I mean is that you can make your own strategy with these coins. Still if you want to secure just stick with BTC.
630  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin obsession! on: September 06, 2023, 02:47:07 PM
I think people's obsession in bitcoin investment is mostly about the profit, recently I rarely see people talk about how to make bitcoin legally used for purchasing goods. people always talk about profit. it is risky for newbie, if they only obsess with profit and don't learn many things that related to bitcoin then they maybe panic when bearish market trend come. I think it is important to always tell them that DCA is the best thing to do for them now.
Well, the main reason why people get easily addicted is because of money and profitability. Same with gambling, people won’t be attached to it if not they are motivated to make money. However, with bitcoin, it’s a different scenario. I don’t think people may become obsessed with bitcoin because as far as I know, a lot of people lose huge amount from bitcoin especially those who invest without prior knowledge, and only few have been noted that are making big in bitcoin.

Thinking about possible big profits is already a way for people to think about bitcoin. We can also read up some success stories about people getting rich on their investment that's why some other people think about they can easily do the same and think about bitcoin on whatever they do. Losing maybe part of the process but for sure if they are consistent reading some helpful information for sure their obsession to bitcoin will result good output to them.

That's actually good if they are aiming for profits since they have a goal, maybe those "Bitcoin obsessed" is applicable for those people who would literally sacrifice everything just to invest or hodl Bitcoin for their own good. Like their health since they are all day reading information as well checking the market, analysis which affects their healthy lifestyle. And if you've been here in the forum for sure you have read that some would literally take a loan or sell their property just to invest for BTC which I think it's not good, I always side in the term "invest what you afford to lose" cause it will just worsen your situation when your plan did not work out cause Bitcoin is still volatile which is unpredictable.
631  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotions dealing on: September 06, 2023, 02:32:32 PM
In my opinion, a person who becomes aware of the environment and knows the harms there, does not panic and get emotional in any unfortunate situation; However, the uninitiated can easily fall prey to it.

It takes time though to become fully ready and prepared for the stressful environment outside.

Same with trading, it takes time for these traders to know how to adapt to any given market situation and trend. One should not stick to a single or few strategies even how effective are those since the crypto-market behaves unexpectedly and sometimes, gives us a surprise the moment we wake up.

Fine to lose at the start, fine to being carried away by emotions, sooner or later, once experience builds up, a trader will know how to deal with their emotion and even amid pressure and lose, they can still bounce back and goes back in the game.

a professional trader today also used to have a hard time struggling with their own emotions. who knows how many times they have to lose, but those who survive and develop their abilities will become more professional.
There are many trading techniques that can be learned, but the experience will overcome any doubts about the trades made. This is indeed not an easy matter, it takes time for a trader to truly master their emotions.

Of course that's the nature of the human being, to have emotions and feelings so even those people who's considered as professional would still feel emotions that every person would feel like anger, frustration and many more. It literally depends on how we or them handling their emotions that could minimize it for them to use their brain fully without the influence of unnecessary feelings like FOMO and FUD so those we considered pro are much better at handling emotions cause by that they are capable to do high risk decisions. Well I agree that once you've experienced more in this industry, the more you can handle your emotions since you will be familiar yourself on how things work but also you've learned from your past mistakes.
632  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Get a signal Source on Bitcoin. on: September 05, 2023, 05:24:25 PM
I would not rely my decisions on people sitting and acting like they would know the outcome of something volatile and unpredictable which is Bitcoin. By just simply clicking the link it's already showing some clickbait sht title that people would tend to watch for views so they would profit from it. Yeah influencers are really spreading FUD causes some people to do things that can results to losses. Just an advise that if you're doing your own research don't settle on Youtube explore more in the web that you could find 2nd information for you to be assured. There's nothing wrong on following pages or people as long as they provide a fact based information and you'll have to learn everything here on your own cause you don't rely your funds into someone doesn't even care about your existence as logn as they milking you.
633  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Possible measures to stop online gambling addiction. on: September 05, 2023, 05:11:17 PM
Self-controlled is the only effective way to stop yourself from gambling completely. No matter how strongly a gambler is addicted to gambling, it is only possible to get out of gambling completely if he believes in himself and resolves to be free from all negative activities. But if self-restraint is not possible to get out of gambling then he must take motivational advice and talk to a good motivational consultant and then take effective measures.
No one can get rid of any addiction by self control alone. If a person becomes addicted to gambling and he wants to stop gambling completely then his family will be the most helpful for him, because in such a situation no one can stop any addiction without the help of family. When a gambler becomes addicted to gambling, the family has to bear the consequences of all his mistakes, so the family is the first to try to free him from this situation.

Yes, but the importance of self control is very important, if he does not have self control, then no motivation will be effective for him, he will go to a worse situation day by day.

But, if under different circumstances the gambler has no family, then how will he recover and be free from addiction?
Of course this also depends on how good the neighborhood people are. and the people in his circle are also the most important and determine whether he can change or not. Self-control is the first thing you need to realize to make him stop gambling too often. good steps also need to be taken to change his mindset, such as coming to a psychologist to ask what is happening to him and reveal that he cannot be separated from gambling.
It is very difficult for family or neighbors and the environment to influence change in people who are addicted to gambling. My friends and I once gave advice to people who were serious about gambling. until you see that the situation is in disarray and no change results, until you become a criminal you are not aware of yourself. unless psychologists have never seen those results. it is very difficult to stop brainwashed gambling addicted people

I don't know if this is really informative or helpful experience with my grandma, she really like gambling I'm not sure if she could be classified as "addict" but she could get violent and verbal abuse whenever she loss at gambling and would literally do it like it's part of her lifestyle. But we've decided to take a vacation like for months in the nature (beach) without the internet or any things just a wholesome moment for the family.

From the start she jokingly starting a game by card game of course we played with her but when she starting asking for bets we refused. For that whole month there's no gambling involved and she's starting to take care with us looking like a different person after we came home she jsut started hanging out with us and we ask her "aren't you gonna play gambling?" she'd just simply said "I rather spend my money to all you cuties." which makes me cry :,) I'm trying to point is maybe addicts just need a different environment where they can space themselves to toxic things that could destroy their life.
634  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Crypto or Real estate on: September 05, 2023, 04:57:29 PM
If you are still young and just starting to invest for sure crypto would be suitable since it's connected to the technology and internet since almost the generation today are involved in using techs. And if you're old enough you would find investing at real state much better since owning a land would literally give you wide options for passive incomes or you can just sell it once it doubles the price since every year house and lot price increases. For me, I would choose crypto for now since it's helping me to get money sources by just investing here without the hassle of papers, bills and registration since its decentralized. But once I have the money, I would literally choose real estate cause owning a land is a big deal here in my country especially the big one.
635  Economy / Economics / Re: To afford personal education or a property? Where to allocate funds? on: September 05, 2023, 04:35:26 PM
Let's suppose you have a limited budget which can be used only for one of the alternatives below:

What is the best investment, in your opinion? To use this money to pay for your education, so you can conclude a superior course and achieve a higher degree, having access to a wide jobs' market, or to use that money to acquire an apartment, house or piece of land, so you can make a passive income from this?

It brings the following question up: what is more valued in life: to be or to have? Does it make someone fulfilled to have while not being or being without having anything?

It's literally depends on a person's mindset, goal and suitability. Cause even if I say that I'd rather have to own a land or apartment to gain passive income in which I could use for my education. Since here in my country (PH) even if you graduated with a degree there's still a lot of people are having a hard time to find a stable job. Some haven't even used their degree like going to the other path like you're aiming to be an engineer once graduated but you've ended up being a call center agent which is nothing wrong, my point is that it really depends on the environment and the people. Cause here if you have a land, you'll have a huge opportunity to have passive income where you can widen your options once you have the money since houses here are pricey as hell.
636  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Government vs Bitcoin on: September 05, 2023, 03:58:18 PM
Governments frequently misunderstand bitcoin innovation.
This impression arises from the disproportionate bans and regulations they enact.
Although occasionally the bitcoin regulations appear unreasonable, I posit that bitcoin is not as detrimental as suggested. Please correct me if I am wrong.

If you understand Bitcoin for sure the people in the government would also have the knowledge on Bitcoin's potential and benefits to the people, but if you are in the institution and part of the government, as you see people are more relying on the crypto currency which is the Bitcoin than the fiat money like USD of course it would be a threat for the economy of a country. Especially now in our current statistics that the Bitcoin adoption are keep rising so lots of country are banning Bitcoin before it affects the country. Plus the fact that it is decentralized so it would be hard for them to control like having a tax fee for them to take advantage from it but there's none. Although Bitcoin has helped a lot of people that could contribute back to the economy.
637  Economy / Trading Discussion / Re: Emotions dealing on: September 04, 2023, 05:03:41 PM
That's actually good advice OP, cause if we're gonna do trade and we're mentally unstable for sure it will have an impact to our decision making as well which results to a loss. It's literally human nature to have emotion that we we are facing when we're gonna have decision even in workplace sometimes we're subjective than objective due to our emotion. Also one of the factors that trader would literally feel in the internet is FOMO, it will literally gives every person the feelings and emotion mixed causes you to have second thoughts on your every move. Not only by just simply distracting yourself to calm yourself, but also discipline yourself to control your emotion and feelings like starting from a small disagreement by just being calm once you get used to it, it's really powerful.
638  Economy / Economics / Re: How to developed your capital on: September 04, 2023, 04:18:34 PM

3. Read books on financial market and its products

This may seem like good advice at first glance, but in fact I find it useless. The fact is that now the information is updated very quickly, new concepts in cryptocurrencies are added every month, and some abbreviations are replaced by others. And only the one who is fulltime looking for information in the world of cryptocurrencies is in the course of all changes. And books are static and the information in them quickly gets stuck. It is better to read the Internet.

Reading books remains an important thing with the aim of increasing our understanding and thinking. and this is a very useful thing. However, it is not enough for us just to read books, but we also implement what we have read and about what we learn after reading as a form of actualization and as a form of knowing that we understand what we read.

And it's true what you say. However, that does not mean that reading books is useless and does not have any effect on us. And all the good things we do will definitely benefit ourselves.
It's just that currently, with the development and progress of the current era, it is not enough for us to just read books, but we also have to be able to absorb existing information and this can be done via the internet, so that we are able to answer existing problems.

Reading a book is really important for starters, as it gives the readers basic information or background about certain topics like about the financial management. Not only that there's a steps and tips to follow but once the reader absorb it, it could change one person's perspective and mindset by just having a knowledge. As times goes by really fast, there's a lot of new things and trends that are not implemented on the book which some of the advises are not applicable to the current time. Now we're in the era of technology where internet exist, you could just surf the web and you could also read some books online for free plus there's a lot of sources that you could rely on so you could have 2nd opinion on information you were looking for.
639  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How was your first Bitcoin experience? on: September 04, 2023, 03:47:34 PM
My first encounter with Bitcoin and this forum was kinda embarrassing, some of members in this forum might now a ponzi scam project called Bitconnect, one of my relative joined this cult --before it turns into scam definitely-- and they try to promote it to me. I know it was too good to be true, and then I do some research on it, then I found about Crypto, Bitcoin and then this forum. I actually mistaken Bitconnect and Bitcoin the first time, I thought both are the same.

That's actually fine, I mean we all trying out and exploring thing we are curious about. I've actually heard it before as well I can't remember the years but there was a lot of meme about it due to people know it was a ponzi scam and the way they promote it just hilarious, even Youtuber use that Bitconnect as their connect that's why it's a hit. I don't know if its a good thing that it gives people the idea of what is Bitcoin but the fact that they manipulated newbies and scammed them it's literally the downside. There's no bad thing if you've been confused between the two at least you've done your research after knowing that Bitcoinnect was a scam cause some would literally quit being involved in crypto after knowing such thing.
640  Local / Pilipinas / Re: Panu labanan ang sweeper bots on: September 03, 2023, 04:39:25 PM
