Very cool thing to have started to watched.  Pivx is still not really known but is being talked about alot so wish to learn from this news telecast about it so I can start and learn to gather some early enough.  Thanks springgers. Let me know if there's anything you'd like me to discuss in future episodes. How about some other alternative coins such has Honey and Raiblocks? Those two come to mind that need some notoriety. Raiblocks is fairly old in the alt coin world but has not had any luck getting onto an exchange. And it recently got accepted and started trading on mercatox over the weekend but they have had issues with deposits to their members accounts using this mrai denominations. So the struggle continues for them to find a reliable exchange so users can start trading it without comprising their exchanges using unescrowed methods for their trades. Honey is very new but something to discuss because there is big potential there. It just needs to garner some attention so have it slowly climb up the ladder as the coin that has gathered a following out of nothing really. ETH has huge potential in FinTech smart contracts, dapps, and practically a monopoly on the ICO industry
PIVX has really nailed governance and scalability blockchain issues and has the best and most open community
ICN is an absolutely brilliant idea and has potential to be the Blockchain industries Merrill Lynch/JP Morgan/etc

After more research, I am sad to announce, stay away from PIVX. Being owned + partner with & hosted by a media advertising company should be enough reasoning. Aside from the fact they focus more on advertising and hype through social media vs working on fixing broken code or implementing new things. (see my previous post) Happy I got out when I did before the bubble burst.
Sadly I must agree. After reverse image searches of the team and watching the Slack channel for several hours, I'm seeing too many inconsistencies (plus the very similar teams between IoP) and annoying grassroots vagueness similar to both PIVX and IoP marketing. It all just makes me uncomfortable. Apparently an Israeli superstar (Gal Gabor) is on the team!! I'm not a FUDer but just some red flags to note. The website is well-made, the PR very good, and the pitch convincing but I'm now apologizing to the folks who may have took me as a "fanboy" a few evenings ago in the main thread. Glad I got my share mostly as DNET and avoiding a burst too. If the project is legit and it takes off then shame on me, but I'm pulling my risk out of it too. Well there are no fast dumps as I expected, but a lot of people are slowly selling Good for you who bought in 0.00001 btc and now can dump slowly for 0.00059941 BTC Buy at 0.00001 - sell at 0.00059941 is a great profit. That's inevitable, but many people are for a long run just like DASH: 2013 masternodes and rising! Yup. Volume is going down because people are locking into masternodes or holding for staking. |

This is amazing news for ICN holders!
We cannot tell whether this move is good or no, because this move is in favour of ICN only but for holders they wont get dividend if they plan to cancell it in future. If holders want to cancel in future. They just have to sell their coins and take the profits. Burned coins will make the market vlaue higher for remaining ones ^ This. It's effectively just a dividend reinvestment program to save them (and us all) distribution costs. It's a great idea. Repurchased and burned coins has an absolutely identical impact as someone who invests in something with a dividend reinvestment program by reducing the total float. |

It's not that new (genesis block on 29 Jan 2016) and while it got pumped along with Dash and others (TX, EXCL), it "deserves" its current price if you ask me. It's not just a simple Dash clone, it has PoS, masternode voting (owners can propose and vote on changes to the coin) PoS/masternode reward balancing "seesaw" mechanism, zerocoin protocol is on the way and so on.
My biggest issue with it is that trading is very centralized (~97% on Bittrex) as of now. Hopefully Poloniex will eventually add it.
Vehemently agree with every word. I have a crypto analysis youtube channel (address in sig) where I talk about all things crypto (Everything from BTC updates to ByteBall news, interesting ICOs, wallet staking, etc.) Out of all of them, PIVX is my favorite project for the reasons you stated above and the underlying community itself (best/most supportive in the crypto space, imo) Also, in my last episode, I ran some compound interest calculations and PIVX staking is a goldmine right now. I projected 31.1% (albeit that doesn't take into account the diminishing block rewards taking place over the next couple months) |
