Have the affiliate payments been made today? I haven't got mine, and I know I should be getting some.

Hi, sorry for the delay with the affiliate payments.
There was a problem with the payment processor. I'll fix it and get them paid tomorrow.

So there's one more week?  Does this end on the next Sunday?

No, that's it ended now.
Thanks

This is the last week of the campaign due to no increase in traffic or referrals from Bitcointalk. You can change your signature to another campaign now or if you have an affiliate accoutn on PRCDice.eu you can leave the signature in place with the affiliate link.

Thanks to all the users who took part.

As was posted I was out for a bit. Back now and going to process payments asap.
Thanks

Yeah unfortunately there's not much conversion.
The stats show that referrals from Bitcoin Talk have gone down since the campaign started, more so each week. I think that's a good indication to end it and look into other areas of advertising.

Thanks

There are no free slots now.
The signature campaign will end this Sunday and last payments will be done then.

Thanks

I'll update this list tomorrow. Anyone who has asked to be enrolled, changed their signature and is rank full member or above will be included for this week.

I think this is going to be the last week of the campaign though unfortunately so won't be taking anyone new for next week.

Thanks to everyone who enrolled.

It's not like JD never went down, a quick Google search comes up with quite a lot of threads e.g.
...
Sorry for the downtime.  I caught a few hours' sleep and it looks like the server took a nap too.  It has happened twice before, and I don't know what triggers it.
...

That was 2 weeks after launch and I quickly fixed the problem. That's not really comparable with PRC's uptime. PRCdice was down for over 2 days in September alone while you fixed a bug with the investment code. I don't know how you can claim 99% uptime when you're down 2 days out of 30... 99% uptime means you only get 3.6 days of downtime per year, and since you've been up less than 6 months you'd need less than 2 days of downtime total to reach your 99% target uptime.

I know your being anal as usual
...
I guess you still just love trolling.
...

You just can't help yourself can you? I'm out of here.

"quite a lot of threads e.g."
That meant only one of the examples of all the posts I found doing a quick search. There were more recent ones as I mentioned in my post.

You say I can't help myself. I replied to all your posts no problem but you kept nit picking and looking for an excuse to attack as you always do.

Nothing wrong with using Windows at all. That wasn't the problem.

As for the actual problem here of any down time (and the nonsense competence claims).
PRC never really got out of "Beta", as soon as we were beta testing the poker people wanted the site to stay up and have me just add things to it.

So what was the problem this time?

"We never really got out of beta"? Maybe you should warn investors that you are still in a testing phase before inviting them to invest...

"We never really got out of beta" for poker and casino. The dice was added on to that system but there has been massive improvements to it.
There is nothing wrong with the dice game at all. Just slower than it could be when there are a lot of users or bets/second and there can be some downtime once in a while like any site.

You didn't answer the question. If there's nothing wrong with the game, and there's nothing wrong with the hosting, why was it down for hours?

I know your being anal as usual but I said there's nothing wrong with the dice game (code), there's nothing wrong with the hosting (meaning Windows vs Linux) but as you should know since you had it happen to you a few times, servers have problems no matter what OS or code is running on them.

No matter what host you choose you will experience some downtime....which if you setup things right you can mitigate. I don't know how you had JD set up in the end but it was down a few times not long before you closed so obviously not perfect but I guess you still just love trolling.

Here's Azure's SLA http://azure.microsoft.com/en-us/support/legal/sla/
and if a site was hosting on Amazons cloud here's their SLA https://aws.amazon.com/ec2/sla/

So to answer your question. One of the servers went down.
That is something that is being worked on so as to minimise, as the players and investors know.

That's the whole point in rewriting it though.

The current players and investors are happy here even if you are not. If they weren't they would leave.

You are pretending that the "hackers" actually want tainted BTC and not drugs/cash. Got it.   Grin

Are we still pretending that it's acceptable to host a dice site controlling almost a million dollars worth of BTC on the Microsoft cloud, on servers running Windows?

I expect that's what has happened here. The Windows server has crashed again and needs to be turned off and on again.

Don't forget to CHDSK/F/X/R!

Nothing wrong with using Windows at all. That wasn't the problem.

There are other Bitcoin sites that are in control of far more Bitcoin than PRC that are hosted on Windows servers, including gambling sites.
There's also larger systems that are in control of more fiat money than the total USD worth of Bitcoin running on Windows with no problems.

As for the actual problem here of any down time (and the nonsense competence claims).
PRC never really got out of "Beta", as soon as we were beta testing the poker people wanted the site to stay up and have me just add things to it.

The architecture design was never at the stage of utilising cloud or multiple servers to prevent downtime.

This could have been done over time obviously but customers kept asking for other things and felt the downtime wasn't that much of an issue, the site is still up more than 99% of the time and recovery is usually very fast.
Also I'm sure you know how much time support and customer queries take up, I'm sure you said that's why you would like to close JD when it was running?

So moving forward. Almost all the players/investors know that I am working on a new version of PRCDice written from the ground up that solves a few of the problems with the existing site e.g. 100%* uptime (obviously impossible but a much more stable setup with automatic error recovery), faster betting and a total overhaul of the design/UX. Plus a bunch of new features and a software design that allows much easier adding of new games.

Finally, all funds are always offline (except a smaller amount in hot wallet that I can personally afford to lose). Any suggestion like someone being able to get seeds and drain house slowly could happen on any site and could have even happened on JD without you knowing. It doesn't matter what OS your site is running on.

Just a reminder that you must have a rank of full member or higher to join.
Also even if joining now or late in the week you still have to have a minimum of 25 posts to be eligible for payment.
If you feel that is too much please wait until the start of the week (Sunday) to enrol.
Thanks
676  Economy / Services / Re: PRCDice.eu - Signature campaign + Affiliate Program on: October 28, 2014, 04:08:42 PM
Don't you think, the number of posts required per week is too high? Its like you are asking us to spam the forum. Considered reducing it?

The people who have been paid have no problem posting 25 and they are not spamming but actually contributing to the forum by taking part in discussion. Spammers get disqualified and removed from the program.
