You are pretending that the "hackers" actually want tainted BTC and not drugs/cash. Got it.
Are we still pretending that it's acceptable to host a dice site controlling almost a million dollars worth of BTC on the Microsoft cloud, on servers running Windows?
I expect that's what has happened here. The Windows server has crashed again and needs to be turned off and on again.
Don't forget to CHDSK/F/X/R!
Nothing wrong with using Windows at all. That wasn't the problem.
There are other Bitcoin sites that are in control of far more Bitcoin than PRC that are hosted on Windows servers, including gambling sites.
There's also larger systems that are in control of more fiat money than the total USD worth of Bitcoin running on Windows with no problems.
As for the actual problem here of any down time (and the nonsense competence claims).
PRC never really got out of "Beta", as soon as we were beta testing the poker people wanted the site to stay up and have me just add things to it.
The architecture design was never at the stage of utilising cloud or multiple servers to prevent downtime.
This could have been done over time obviously but customers kept asking for other things and felt the downtime wasn't that much of an issue, the site is still up more than 99% of the time and recovery is usually very fast.
Also I'm sure you know how much time support and customer queries take up, I'm sure you said that's why you would like to close JD when it was running?
So moving forward. Almost all the players/investors know that I am working on a new version of PRCDice written from the ground up that solves a few of the problems with the existing site e.g. 100%* uptime (obviously impossible but a much more stable setup with automatic error recovery), faster betting and a total overhaul of the design/UX. Plus a bunch of new features and a software design that allows much easier adding of new games.
Finally, all funds are always offline (except a smaller amount in hot wallet that I can personally afford to lose). Any suggestion like someone being able to get seeds and drain house slowly could happen on any site and could have even happened on JD without you knowing. It doesn't matter what OS your site is running on.
