281  Economy / Gambling / Re: Fork coming tomorrow, I would withdraw all of your coins from Nitro ASAP on: December 28, 2017, 02:29:38 PM
I would advise withdrawing all of your coins stored on Nitro ASAP. There is a fork coming tomorrow. It's a segwit2x fork to make transactions faster and cheaper and will probably be pretty popular.

I can tell you from bitter experience that they will delay a withdrawal request for about 24 hours if a fork snapshot is coming. I would not wait if you want your segwit2x btc coins.

The resulting coin is already trading north of $1,000.

https://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/segwit2x/

These are futures, the snapshot has not been taken yet so of course no coins have been issued. Also, it appears the developers of B2X plan to not issue the B2X that is associated with Satoshi's known address ("he" has huge holdings) and will instead issue those coins to B2X users.

Nitro will not give you these coins and will try and delay your withdrawal as well.

Thanks for the advice. I had literally no idea this was happeneing. Going to look into it.

Any idea how we get our Segwit2x coins though?

Is there a website? Also, a guy above said something about it not being affiliated with the original 2x or soemthing. Is this definitely a scam or what? I am slightly confuesed about what is going on.

284  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Did you learn from your gambling mistakes? on: December 26, 2017, 11:30:55 PM
I learned some very harsh lessons gambling. The number one thing I learned is always rely on math. Never convince myself that gambling is pure luck or not based on math. Never think that the outcome can be predicted (this is a big one!) if you always base your play on math you will make the most in the long run while losing the minimum.
285  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Superstition on: December 26, 2017, 10:42:57 PM
I just wanna know if you guys are supertitious when playing or gambling?

Everybody do it, not only you, everytime that someone has a big luck with just wearing a t shirt or a pair of shoes are always going to use it as a "lucky stuff" to keep earning more money on the next session.

There is nothing new with this, a lot of people are exactly doing the same.

The same happens with the football players, everytime that there is an important match, they try to use the same sockets that they used on their lucky day, or their "lucky" shoes too.

This is one of the biggest fallacies when it comes to gambling. I don't know the exact name but it surely causes Billions worth of losses on an annual basis around the world.

If you use your brain for a few moments you will clearly see that a physical item like a shirt doesn't impact whether you can win or lose at gambling. This is simply ridiculous, but people use it to rationalize their actions.

They will go home to their family/wife/husband or whatever and not feel guilty because it is their "lucky underwear's fault". Roll Eyes
286  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling Excuses on: December 26, 2017, 08:59:59 PM
That's foolishness. I can't do that, just like how afraid I am when I am holding other people's money and fear attacks me thinking that I might lost that. Not that I can't afford to pay it but, I really don't feel comfortable holding other peoples money. Your situation is much more than that, you already crossed the line. No I can't do that and I definitely didn't do that yet and I have no plan on trying.
I think it is really easy for us who have not been into the situation to say that this is foolishness but if you think of it deeply we can say that they are really just addicted into it and cannot be able to control theirselves.
We have to scold ourselves as well if we are in that situation, yes we are stupid when we are addicted because we make decisions that are not properly think of. Gambling is a game of chances and we need a good strategy in order to last in the game, knowing that we lose most of the time is best than thinking that gambling gives an easy win which most gamblers think and actually that lead them to more exposure to loses.

Actually there is no such thing as strategy in gambling.

Every single bet has an expected mathematical outcome. When you bet $100 and your expected ROI is 48% it means you are going to walk away with $96 on average after every bet. There is no way around it.

With that said, the real strategy you should have is how to keep calm and collected to avoid losing everything you own. Never forget, when you play against the house YOU CAN'T WIN!
287  Economy / Gambling / Re: Stake.com | The Bitcoin Casino | Plinko, Mines, Blackjack, Roulette + 8 more 👽 on: December 26, 2017, 08:57:59 PM
Hi Stunna,

Whats happening with withdrawals currently? Obviously the network congestion isn't helping matters but I've had a withdrawal pending for quite some time now

Can you confirm if you've received this or not? There's record network congestion at the moment, $30+ fees on average.

Nope, still sat pending within my account

i think after requesting a withdraw, we need to contact to support to confirm it Cheesy You too can follow these steps.

yeah they are no longer automatic, but would have been nice
if there was an option to include the fees of your choice, especially seeing how 20k satoshi fees transactions stay pending for weeks now
I got one pending, but this one is TO Stake,it has been 21 days already, sent it out just the day the screw up started
also would like to thank bitcoin info wallet for a really professional choice of a recommended fee Smiley"

This is a problem for all Bitcoin businesses these days. Processing transactions with BTC is a nightmare especially anything under $100 is almost pointless because most of it gets eaten by fees.

It is sad and hope there will be a Lightning Network soon (actually it already exists just not popular yet) to stop this fee madness.

292  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football Transfers Speculation, Odds and Predictions on: December 25, 2017, 11:50:40 PM
Lukaku, maybe he is bad transfer for United. Undecided

Yup.  In hindsight Mourinho could have been better off with Morata.  Lukaku isn't the 'new Drogba'.  The latter was always full of confidence, and with the ability to make goals from nothing.

Lukaku seems to lack the kind of arrogance or cockiness or that certain boldness that strikers need.

As soon as Lukaku was interested in Mourinho, I said that it would be the most disastrous transfer. Yes, he scores goals, but scores only weak teams. In big matches, Lukaku is simply lost on the field.

And do not forget other than just scoring goals into weak teams, he also just scored easy goals. Goals that all players can certainly do it easily too. He's a star at clubs like WBA, Everton, but in big teams like Manchester United he's just an ordinary striker, it's natural why Chelsea do not like Lukaku.

I am not your typical soccer/football fan (a you can tell I am based in north amercia where we don't watch as much soccer) although back in the day I did see Lukaku play when he was only 16 and he wasn't yet in the major pros or whatever.
293  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: How Can We Make Sure Bitcoin Never Ends? on: December 25, 2017, 11:49:29 PM
Bitcoin never will end. It is a fact. Even if the internet goes down, the blockchain is stored on thousands of nodes all around the world. BY definition it wills till exist, just become non-feasible to use at that point. In other words, we essentially need the internet for BTC to get adopted globally.
294  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling. Is It Wrong? on: December 25, 2017, 11:46:05 PM
gambling is only wrong if you make it wrong.

If you don't gamble repsonsibly, that is you know how much you are willing to lose, and when it is gone - even if just one bet or you play for a long time, then you can't rebuy more money or you are basically an addict. I mean it is one of the things that can take over your soul if you don't know exactly what you are doing and play with responsibility.
295  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: 2018 NBA Season on: December 25, 2017, 11:44:29 PM
One thing I don't quite understand and am a bit shocked by is how are thw Warriors losing so much this season when a couple seasons back they went like 35 games or something without losing? Like that doesn't even make sense. IT is absolutely insane to go that many games without a loss. The only team to do that before was the Bulls and they even beat that record which people thought was unbeatable, I might add!
296  Other / Off-topic / Re: If bitcoin goes to zero on: December 25, 2017, 11:43:13 PM
Bitcoin will never go to zero.

Rest goes to zero as well?

Which is kinda weird. Everything is measured in BTC. Which makes it the digital gold and bridge between $ (real world) anf crypto.

I am not thinking of that negatively. I am thinking that it could become more affordable but not that totally lost it's value.

Same. Worst case BTC is replaced by another, better crypto, but in the meantime it will never go to zero because eventually people will want it as a colelctible even if it isn't used as a currency.
297  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: What's your biggest regret about bitcoin on: December 25, 2017, 11:42:22 PM
My biggest regret about Bitcoin is not buying them earlier. I knew about Bitcoin for a very long time, almost since they were just $10 each and still did not buy, which makes me regret a lot because I would now be a multi millionaire! Oh well. Tongue
298  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Offline Wallets Vs Online Wallets on: December 25, 2017, 11:32:56 PM
There is one big difference, with an offline wallet you can't send transactions to the miners. With an online wallet this is possible, you can view the blockchain and send a signed transaction to the miners, they will add it to the blockchain. But some offline wallets allow you to sign transactions being offline, then you can send that transaction with an online wallet or a webpage to the miners. So you're basically doing the whole process then on you're offline wallet.

Obviously if you want to send Bitcoin you are going to need it to be in an online wallet. This is common sense. The point of this thread is to discuss which are better - online or offline wallets.

As for my opinion/view, it is quite clear that in most cases offline wallets are better because they are more secure compared to online wallets which by nature are susceptible to getting hacked...
299  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the decimal system on: December 25, 2017, 11:31:24 PM
One bitcoin is the equivalent of 10^8 satoshi. I wonder if someone could explain why one has not defined the factor as a power of 2,
as this would be a naturale choice from my point of view. Is there any deeper meaning in the preference for the decimal system ?
I'll highly appreciate your explanations and/or suggestions.

The point of having 8 decimals, as far as I know, is so that when 1 Bitcoin is worth $1,000,000 then 1 Satoshi would be equal to 1 penny. The idea is people will transact in "bits" (1 Bit = 100 Satoshis) which will be the equivalent of USD today only in Bitcoin obviously.
300  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Service Discussion (Altcoins) / Re: Platforms taking bitcoins to make profit everyday? on: December 25, 2017, 11:29:45 PM
Hey i just recently watched a video.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qk67nNnf3rQ

I invested $100 and it works for now but i am very curious how others feel about this, is it trusted?
right now ive been getting profit daily and it is giving me what it promises.

Please give me your thoughts Cheesy

Im quiet curious about bitconnect, Im aiming  this kind of method, actually i already hear this several month ago but im afraid it will fall on to scam due to some blogs and experiences of people who failed to withdraw big amounts on that site. Im looking forward you will find all things, you are looking for, Best wishes to your investment.

I've heard Bitconnect is a scam a lot more often than hearing it is legit.

However, the price continues rising as far as I can tell, and so to me it seems like it probably isn't a scam?

I mean if people around the world continue investing and making money from it it probably has some truth to it at least. I haven't looked into it that much though and i'm not an expert by any means. Tongue
