61  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: cash out or let it ride? on: May 02, 2024, 09:03:22 AM
This last game might be tough for you to come out of it and it has the highest odd so far in your games that you have already won meaning, the odds and cash out that they have given to you favours you. At the time closer to the game, the cash out value may reduce, take your decision now.

To analyze a little of this game, bucks is still on the top of the table with Indiana behind at 47 while bucks is at 49 points. Bucks on aggregate before this match that is the match between Indiana pacer is 2/3. So if bucks being at the top of the table while on the aggregate they are behind by 2/3, they would give in their best not to lose this match, therefore they would be aiming for a win to equal at 3/3.

My candid advise for you is to quickly cash out what you have been given and not to be greedy on it. That is what you will not regret but what you will regret is losing all.
62  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What will you do if you find yourself in a similar situation like this? on: May 01, 2024, 08:56:10 PM

Assuming you find yourself in a similar situation as this, what will you do? How will you handle the situation to make your parents trust you again?

In this situation as the gambler in question, his parents will still have some trust in him as he is their son and if it is only the first time that he has done that then there may not be reason not to distrust him. They may not keep such money with him but the issue of trust have not gone with them, they are still family.

If I'm in his shoes then I would make sure that I make them realize it was a mistake that I relied on gambling to double the money. I will let them know it will also be in their own benefit if the money was increased as a result of the gambling risk taken. Hence every wrong has somethings you need to do to placate others and I will humbly plead mistake.
63  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Can You Submit KYC Before You Win Big on: May 01, 2024, 05:41:12 PM
There is nothing stopping a gambler not to proceed with full KYC on his account even before he wins. Casinos don't seem to force customers to do it because after all some may not end up winning from the casino before they quit and on the side of the gambler too, he feels why disclosing all about himself to the casino when he doesn't have anything at stake, like he is yet to win. So the whole thing and noise about KYC gets complicated at the time of winning especially big winning and the process of withdrawing becomes cumbersome for the impatient gambler who then feels the casino is introducing all the worthnot because of his winning to "stop" him from withdrawing. So it is all for the gambler to update his KYC even before gambling.
64  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Football/Soccer Winning Strategy on: May 01, 2024, 03:12:19 PM

So here are his words: Find a sport like Hockey where teams normally just score a few and usually the first team that scores wins the game.

I understand this and it is not unusual. It is actually a winning strategy even in football betting to check for teams that doesn't score much goals to bet on them on under and also to look at scoring teams like Manchester city to bet on over. You are likely to win bets like this if you have analyzed it and bet it as single bet but some gamblers don't like single games because the potential winning amount will be lower.

And then find a casino that lists live matches. And then Parlay on 2-3 games. Don't go more than that or it gets riskier he emphasizes.

It is quite a winning strategy to bet on fewer games because if you bet on multiple, you are likely to be unlucky that some of the games will not turn out successful but 2/3 games are easy win and professional bettors are cashing out more on this way of betting than those who go on multiple.
65  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Democracy in Nigeria on: May 01, 2024, 02:20:11 PM
It really amase me when we say that Nigeria is a democratic nation. if u look at what is happening in Nigeria, u will see that power belong to the leaders instead of the people, the masses are voiceless.

The point is that Nigeria masses have always been scared to make the democracy work by ensuring that leaders do what they are suppose to do. Right for peaceful protest is enshrined in the constitution but having coordinated mind is the real challenge. The youth in Nigeria are divided along different lines like especially religion and ethnicity, so that actually affects the togetherness of the youth during election. The youth has what it takes to unite to take over the country for good but den some youth go still run go under the old politicians because dem don brainwash dem out of right things to do and for sake of money.

You can hardly blame them for that, no one wants to be a scapegoat for others, if you can recall the incident from end sars, people died for retaliation against the government even as a peaceful protest and now nobody would want to risk that against tinubu cause it happened by his command last time when he wasn't even in command as a president talk more of now.

I agree with you bro but the challenge is that of religion and ethnicity. Those are the major divide in our daily struggle in Nigeria. However, those in power at a time doesn't want food to be taken out of them and so they will issue whatever command to the gun men. Hence, are we now saying that the few in government can over power 200million people? It is those divide that makes proper decision taking difficult. In countries that have only one major religion or ethnicity, they have one voice and more united to force the government to listen to them.
66  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: An aggressive gambler irrelevantly easing his Irresponsible gambling manner. on: May 01, 2024, 01:13:16 PM
Someone betted on boxing and lost the game but the gambler out of grieve of his lost is trying to ease his emotion Said, It is okay as it is for at least the guy I betted on made me lost the game but had unfortunate for him too to had taken beaten of his life.

This is just one of the emotional reactions you see when a gambler loses his bet but in the case of boxing, it doesn't really matter whether the losing boxer took some beating of his life or not but that he already understood he was going for a fight and that is the game. Moreover, despite losing the fight, he would still get some payment for the fight. So the real loser is the gambler who has lost his bet and angry he did while the boxer has taken his lose in good faith. This is why when we bet we don't have to put all hope on it but to see the winning chances as 50/50 so that we are already prepared for whatever that will come on the long run in the game that we bet on.
67  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sports betting for reality not club affection on: May 01, 2024, 12:38:22 PM
a friend once adviced me never to put my favourite team on my ticket

You can put them in your ticket but the point is not to bet in their favour. I understand that some fans would rather not put their team in there instead of including them and betting on option not favourable to them. But this is like a business that you want to do or a job you want to carry out, you rather employ able hands to help you achieve result.

So you can include your club in your betting slip but don't be emotional and sentimental about the option that you are betting on them. If you know that the team against them is better in form then bet them to lose  Grin
68  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Misunderstanding of Halving by Bitcoin enthusiast. on: April 30, 2024, 11:03:37 PM
Bitcoin has diverse means in which it operates, although I so much believe that this is th first time some of us that are here are experiencing this event called Bitcoin halving that's why they misunderstand the process, know doubt this occurrence that happens every four years was meant to be a period that Bitcoin is suppose to pump but unfortunately the pump has not been experienced yet but it doesn't mean that it won't happen.

To the bull season wey never begin fly, I think the market already dey wait for one kind news now on btc and you go see the volatility happening. Like for example if one big btc enthusiast make any statement now about buying so much btc you go see that will shake the market and people go dey attracted to run in again with that the bull don happen be that. Anyway though, e go happen soon and there is still time to purchase more coins before the real ride go start.
69  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: FX CRISIS: Opay, palmpay other fin tech barned from registering new customers on: April 30, 2024, 12:52:47 PM
Well this news initially created panic among users and hodlers of such Fintech accounts. They misinterpreted the ban of new users to be outright ban of them, meaning say their money don waka but now that the news is coming in properly, I think d fear go reduce.

Isn't this an attack on anything that's decentralized and void of government regulations?

Dem no be decentralized na, dem be micro banks wey get lower limit transactions unlike the banks. So I wonder how dem go be points for illegal transactions, I mean like how much go enter in or out of am. A pointer say government just dey struggle with hodling dollar exchange rate down instead of improving the economy and everything go fall in place. Today now I dey hear say fuel don dey increase again and causing queues for some places, na how that increase for fuel go take help the economy
70  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Buy pepe and when now, make you no go ask God when on: April 30, 2024, 10:57:55 AM

71  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: One major business challenge on: April 30, 2024, 09:43:06 AM

Light doesn't just affect business people but everyone who need's it.

I no think say e get person wey dey wey no need light and like you talk am, light dey help people relax and live a lesser stressful life. Only to watch television self na a way of relaxation both for young and old. Old people dey even like watch comedy films or home movies to take relax. Talking about food, sometimes we no really need to go market daily but to buy and keep for fridge but as light no dey, na so people dey stress demselves always to go market. Na solar people wey fit afford am dey go for now but if you can't, see you see heat.

Omo no be lie, the cost of running business for naija dey very expensive because you go virtually provide everything for yourself and at high cost, from light like generator or solar, to high cost of transportation to get your raw materials and produce and sell.

A country wey no get good and cheap electricity will not grow economically and technologically because na electricity dey ginger most of the economic indices. Like manufacturing sectors go die a natural death where electricity no dey and na wetin we dey see and face for naija.
72  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Ionet Ignition Progam Airdrop Campaign on: April 29, 2024, 02:11:48 PM
Airdrop is one of the ways we could make money for ourselves without doing any investment.
Although their are many projects that don't mind giving out to their community so they can benefits as well which is a good opportunity for all persons that are into the airdrop. Since it's free money, one can take the opportunity to join even thought we might not get a full reward by joining late. We don't always plan to invest in cryptocurrency with our funds, it is also good taking part in airdrops just like many of the Twitter airdrops.

Well said. airdrops don't require investment but your time, faith and believe. Those are the substance that an airdropper requires to succeed and it takes patience because you actually have to wait for the listing, that is those who finally made it to the point of reward and listing as some also will not come that far to go into an exchange. It is the hope of airdroppers for their hunting coins to be listed because they will receive the reward of patience and perseverance. If you don't get rewarded from an airdrop where you can sell, then it means you have wasted your time. So we also have to be reasonable and wise why following airdrops, although nobody knows the particular one that will benefit.
73  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Electricity as a tool for development on: April 29, 2024, 01:24:13 PM

Do you believe that any nation in the globe is unable to obtain reliable energy, or is there something else?

I don't believe that there are countries that are sincerely unable to provide for themselves electricity but the major issue with such countries is corrupt minded officials who would not contract the right people to do the job of providing good and cheap electricity. Something else is that embezzlement is usually the order of the day when contracts are awarded to get expatriate to do jobs especially in Africa. In such contract, there is a middle man or a fictitious business name or company somewhere that would stand in as the contractor but with deeper research it will be revealed as the companies of one of the people in government, so everything keep going in circles. Thus, a country without proper and cheap electricity is always in shabble and doesn't progress because electricity is the main hub for manufacturing and economic development, this is why the third world countries are still where they are.
74  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Politics without political parties. on: April 29, 2024, 10:19:07 AM

And the advantage of regional heads going through the independent route is also placing service heads who suit the standards and the right objectives, according to their respective fields, without being mixed up by parties, they have to raise them according to their wishes, it's all up to him, so if he really builds It's definitely better, because now politics is cruel without anyone wanting to know, both relatives and friends, if they don't help them during the campaign they won't help them either.

Yes I think an independent candidate or individual candidate can be held accountable more than the political party candidates because they hold allegiance more to the people and not to few in power only. Political parties don't run inclusive government, it favours the people in the party more than the generality of the people.and that is what leads into corruption.
75  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: In Your Country Who Gamble More? Young Ones or Elderly Ones on: April 29, 2024, 09:23:30 AM

Do you see such elderly people in your country? Or is it only in Africa?

Such elderly people do exist and yes they play the draft game which they use in gambling. It is a longtime game that they have been used to, bringing them together from different places to converge in their known location to gamble. However, some young people also join but they are not much compared to the elderly. So it is more of older people's game than the young.

Is the younger ones play gamble more than the elders?

I was thinking that you would differentiate between the games because there are games that are known played by the youth often like sports and football while the elderly play more of draft. So in other words, the young people are more of online gamblers than the elderly.
76  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Would you cashout or wait for the game to conclude? on: April 28, 2024, 09:16:07 PM
I won't stay long on it to decide whether to cash out on 12m or to wait for 36m, I will cash out. He has already tried in winning 15 games, being too greedy to win all games may backfire on him despite that the gains will be tripple if he got lucky to win all. One way not to feel too bad if you cash out on your game early is to take part of the cash out money to restake those remaining games with the same option, so if you win them you still get something from it but if you don't, you will be happy you cashed out and avoided losing everything. Cash out is a very good option for some people who use it because you can have a multiple bet like the guy and at a point in the game, you are shown cashout like the instant matter in discussion.
77  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Politics without political parties. on: April 28, 2024, 08:47:58 PM
Politics without political parties functioning in a country will be the best.

Somehow because I think the system of government will be different and terrain too will look different, maybe the common people who are not in government will benefit more because it will be actually the government of the people unlike the government run by political parties as we see today where the political parties become the contention and means of distributing dividend of government to the people which doesn't get to the grassroot but to the few family members of those running the parties.

However, political parties by default is organized to win election and form government but if we could have independent candidacy where an individual doesn't necessarily need to belong to any political party to contest an election, win and run the government. In such kind of government, the masses will benefit more because those gluttonous political party bottlenecks would have been avoided.
78  Economy / Speculation / Re: You have a better chance with Bitcoin now than the next minute! on: April 28, 2024, 05:32:49 PM
Not only history proves it but I think the whole world has heard what Bitcoin is. Indeed, this price is quite expensive for some people, but not for me, what you said earlier, by looking at Bitcoin's initial track record, of course we all automatically think that the price in the next 10 years will be much more expensive than now. This asset is very rare and much contested in the world. This is the importance of the dca technique that we use, to fill our pockets with bitcoin, apart from that we also need extra patience to take the desired profit.

The sad thing about this is that people have heard about bitcoin, they know it has given great profits, they also know that bitcoin will most likely give great profits to anyone willing to hold their coins for such a long period of time, and yet they will refuse to invest in bitcoin.

Simply put, despite having the same knowledge that we have, they are not willing to take the risk, and once those 10 years were to pass and our predictions became true, they will lament not investing in bitcoin when they had the chance, but if you were to ask them if they will invest in bitcoin on the near future, they will still refuse to do it, with the excuse that it is too expensive.

It is normal to see people who like to stand on the fence, they don't want to be involved but only to criticize on what people are doing. Regards to bitcoin, well quite a whole lot of people have embraced it especially the youth because they are more of the internet than the old and moreover, bitcoin has now been here for a while so people have seen investors who have really cashed out big both in btc and from altcoins. This is another season for the faithfuls and the bull season is still preparing to come but weak hands will eventually run away to stay at outside but later regret not investing. Surely it is a time to hodl more coins.
79  Local / Politics and society (Naija) / Re: Multichoice new price rate on: April 28, 2024, 05:17:15 PM
But Nigerians should help demselves about this subscription issue with these people. I remember one of the customer guys calling me sometime regarding subscription of their package onto say make I renew sub, I ask the person say him dey live for naija? Abi whether him no see say electricity no even dey to take watch even thing wey you pay for. If you want to watch then you go still need to go buy fuel take run generator, omo dat no make sense. Moreover, after the sub end for the month them no go even say make dem leave one Nigerian station behind, so na who dey fool who. People don even dey manage free to air these days as things take be. Na business people dey need dem now because for individual, you go need use generator except na house wey dey powered by solar.
80  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: The person who can’t control emotions in gambling will never earn money from it on: April 28, 2024, 03:14:09 PM

However true, that you always need to refer back for the reason of your gambling. Regardless of how tough you are you will still be tempted and tested. That's why your biggest enemy in gambling is not the casino but yourself. Greed and fear will attack you and will push you to do something irrational that is outside your plan and will derail you to your reason. That's why I think along with a strong reason, you also need a good circle of people to support and remind you "Why you are doin what you are doing."

There is a limit to having people around to support a gambler or advise him not to gamble a certain game or to quit sometimes because it is the gambler that has the final say or decision. A gambler who is greedy becomes more greedy when he is losing and at such time he may hardly listen to whatever advise or idea that was introduced to him. And moreover, he would lose balance of his psychological and mental acuity and so you could see him betting at random and trying different games especially if he still has enough bankroll.
