1001  Other / Off-topic / Re: Making a New Year resolution plan is Important. on: December 09, 2023, 04:35:48 PM
I admit I had planned it but I was undisciplined and impatient. I have lost a lot in 2023 because of my greed and impatience in trading. I think what I experienced is also experienced by many people, often we make our own plans but we end up breaking them.
and I think that's the punishment I got.

This is always the case with the new year resolution. Ironically sometimes if you don't hold on to the resolutions too tight you get to achieve and I think when we make such resolutions and we achieve 50% of it we should still give ourselves kudos to try doubling effort next year. The next year is fast approaching and if we know the areas we didn't have good performance then we can strengthen ourselves by not doing the same thing we did. If you keep doing same thing same way then we are likely to get same result other than the change we want.

A new year resolution is a call for action, it is suppose to quicken our efforts to greater achievement at least 50% above should be better achievement.
1002  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: First winning can be a trap on: December 09, 2023, 03:56:12 PM
Somehow there is a measure of fact on what op said but whether it is called trap is debatable and somehow too, most first time players tend to win their games maybe that makes them to want to play again and again. If you win the first time, there is possibility you won't want to back out because you have tasted the profit or doubling of what you had. However, you can only be trapped if you get greedy not to discontinue from playing whether losing or gaining from the gambling because there are people who are not losing much and they want to quit but greed for money keep them playing. So I think gambling itself is a trap not just for first timers.
1003  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: How to know penalties are about to be played in football matches on: December 09, 2023, 02:23:30 PM
I think this is more herculean. Penalty shootout in a football game is not always predictable and to want to know when it will be played in all the leagues seem difficult to achieve. Moreover, this a game whose outcome is most times not premeditated talk more of a penalty.

Also, the aspect where you said if you could get an alert to your phone on a penalty to be played is something someone should seek to understand what you intend to do on that. I know you want to bet on that but at the point where penalty shootout want to be played, can you still bet on it? will it still be available for stake? Or will the sportbook open it up for a bet just wetin the minutes it happened in the 18 yard box during normal play or after 90 minutes of play.

Even if bookies open odds for it to be staked, what time do we have to stake on it.

1005  Other / Politics & Society / Re: Which currency will able to replace the $$? If 3rd world war will happen! on: December 09, 2023, 06:34:41 AM
So if there is a third war globally, yes there is a possibility for a new currency to show up because there is likely possibility of disruption of the current currency world order but that is if the US fall and losses her grip on NATO, world economy and other influences. Therefore, the currency that could emerge may come up from the newly formed BRICS organisation and not solely the ruble from Russia or yuan from China but maybe the BRICS new currency if it succeed.
1006  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Do you believe you can win on sports betting by analyzing a betting lines only? on: December 09, 2023, 06:04:42 AM
That is true, I believe bookmakers are watchful about the likely outcomes of matches and what analysis cum options gamblers could go for.

Have we wondered why in some football games, some betting options are not available to be staked in that match? I'm beginning to reason that out too myself, probably they understand it could be a likely easy outcome and so they rather make it unavailable. Probably so, and gamblers have no option than go for other options without choice. This could be likely so, that bookmakers are really at work to read the minds of gamblers on likely outcomes of predictions.
1007  Other / Off-topic / Re: Do you regret also for ever knowing about gambling? on: December 09, 2023, 05:13:54 AM
If a friend was introduced to gambling at first and he doesn't see anything positive about it for him then he should quit and not to be engrossed in it after the friend has left him to himself and later he comes to start complaining or blaming the friend for introducing him to it because he has been losing, what about the times he won  Huh Grin

It is only a child that could be excused for that kind of complaint because he may not have the capacity to think himself out of such a dilemma and this is why child gambling or underage gambling is prohibited but for an adult to complain after he has relished some positive vibes of winning, he caused himself whatever pain. He should know the risk involved at least at a point.

I'm responsible to my actions if I want to gamble or not and not to blame anyone.
1008  Economy / Speculation / Re: Can anyone be a Bitcoin speculation expert? on: December 08, 2023, 08:54:46 PM

If by any chance bitcoin goes below 36k or further they would say they were right  about this. I want to know if it is possible for someone to be a bitcoin expert. Like a person who is always right about his/her speculations even if it takes sometime to be confirmed.

Well for me I was also thinking the price will dump before now and it doesn't seem like it will be a reality this year so I have dumped the idea and  given up on it that price will fall to the extent of $15k.

Regards to whether there are expert predictors, I don't think so. People rely on the season to predict even when they don't have any technical understanding of the market. Like usually during the year before halving, price use to fall and that is why the speculators are still predicting price to crash before the end of this year. So whether that will happen or not is for time to tell.
1009  Economy / Speculation / Re: BTC Sentiment Poll for December on: December 08, 2023, 08:22:12 PM
I suspect that December will be a positive trend for the increase in Bitcoin prices, especially since recently Bitcoin prices have continued to experience a very significant spike. I predict the price of bitcoin at the end of this year will most likely reach above $45k.

As it is now, the price of bitcoin is close to your prediction of $45k because at the moment it is standing at $44k and nothing stops it to going beyond $45k within the weekend, so the prediction is already being taking over within the week. No doubt bitcoin is now on fire making people to be confused whether we have already entered the bull run without the halving. However, for me I do believe that the price surge already being witnessed is a sign that the halving for next year will cause a lot of volatility and price increase.
1010  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: [ECONOMICS] Which Way Nigeria? on: December 08, 2023, 07:32:10 PM
You know, going through this your thread, It just hit me how worst things actually are. We actually aren’t attracting anymore investors but are actually, expelling them and this time, not by crisis related issues but, the crisis in our economy.
Someone on social media puts it this way, while investors are leaving because of unfavourable government policies, the president is out there looking to bring more investors. Well as it now I think that maybe the Asians won't mind stepping in to compete with the local market.

The thread no dey difficult to understand , it is as simple as the reality on ground that investors and companies are not feeding it easy to do business in Nigeria and they are packing up to go to countries around west Africa where they can produce at more cheaper rate so that they can maximize their profit and also give customers satisfaction.

Me I no blame these companies as dem don try even produce small brands of their products and to the extent companies don reduce quality and quantity but nothing is working. President wey dey carry himself go look for investors, na for on top which amenities dem go take operate? As if the price of fuel don reduce, light wey be the most important for production matter no kukuma dey, so why him dey do the more you look the less you see to Nigerians.

Anyway, these companies exit from Nigeria no be today, e start since electricity begin be problem for Nigeria at least since 30 years ago, only say e con worst now. Michelle wey dey do tire, PZ and plenty other companies dey leave.

If government fix electricity only self, you go see companies dey rush come Nigeria, no be government go waka go find dem.
1011  Local / Off-topic (Naija) / Re: Rip @ light_warrior on: December 08, 2023, 01:35:02 PM
This is unfortunate for this group here. Well life is like that and we pray to God to do our best while we are still having his grace to live and let our dreams be fulfilled.

There is always a reason to do good and death is what we can't stop when the time comes.

Condolence to the family of our brother.
1012  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: What are some things you should always avoid while gambling ? on: December 08, 2023, 11:16:08 AM

When you were in loss you'll never know what you were doing. The mind will be completely focused on recovering the loss and the same could end up losing more. Take breaks, and make a comeback. At any cost never borrow money to spend. If you don't have money just keep rolling with no bet amount.

It is a lot of emotion to take a break in gambling if you are already in loss. Most gamblers understand this and it takes you to be bankrupt before you can try to stay away. So except the first instance of staying away because of lack of fund takes a long time than necessary then you can gradually start to forget your loses but if you are able to get additional funds almost immediately your bankroll was exhausted, you are likely to refund the account and start gambling again. So it takes a whole lot of effort and commitment plus lack of fund to take a break.
1013  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 08, 2023, 09:38:24 AM
Behavior changes after losing from gambling because at that rate a lot of money is lost. Moreover many people borrow this money and sell their assets. I personally cannot be happy when losing money from gambling. And when i gain i celebrate those happy moments with everyone. However you should pay more attention so that the effects of gambling do not affect your family and if you can't fix yourself in those losing moments then gambling is not for you.

The effect of such cantankerous behaviour and transferred aggression to the family is that the children will be avoiding the father and even the wife too will be trying to stay away from him because she never knows what he is going through at any point in time. Such behaviour for a gambler means such person is only depending on gambling for income and when he doesn't get it, he gets angry.

The act of addiction is also responsible for this when a player only have the mind that only winning is what can happen in his bet and he has not assume losing his game. Of course children don't know how to understand such harsh behaviour, if you get unfriendly to children you are sure to see that they will start keeping distance from you and that is not good for a parent.
1014  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Greed or risk on: December 08, 2023, 08:13:32 AM

a gambler who has a big responsibility towards gambling will never be tempted by greed or emotions that can influence the gambler to take big risks from gambling. all of this is usually because responsible gamblers have more mature thoughts and dont expect any profit from gambling unless they just want the sensation of pleasure and if their budget runs out they will end their gambling session without having to make another deposit.

Greed or emotion is part of human being and so it is also part of gambling. Therefore, I believe even professional gambler are faced with it.

The way that the both really affect our gambling is that if you have been losing alot in a roll and you have an opportunity for a big cash out, you will be tempted to go on it with looking at your bankroll that is being bankrupted because you have been losing but if you have been winning, then you might take some irrational decisions that you get right and it looks like it is not emotion or greed. Therefore is a part that winning has an effect on the gambler, it builds more confidence and they take decision that seem right.
1015  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: gambling for newbies on: December 08, 2023, 06:06:57 AM
As a newbie that talks about gambling, you probably have known about the risk involved in gambling to say that the higher risk you take the higher chances you have to lose that money you have that you can afford to lose. You also have to know the temptation of losing more from your bankroll probably that part you didn't plan to lose because gambling has a way to get you to consistently lose. So always have that at mind that you can keep losing, so are you reading for that?

If you are ready to lose then first, look inward to the games you like to play for fun then that should be your first passion as it will be easy for you to learn on how to gamble with it. If you don't have any preferable game then I suggest you start with sports and football is your first choice. Football is one of the easiest way to start gambling because it is easy to understand as you can relate to it more than casino games.

So you can start with offline gambling in your neighbourhood, there you can see friends who would help you directing you on how to go about it.
1016  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Quit gambling and Invest in gambling. on: December 07, 2023, 07:51:41 PM

When you win $100 in gambling and still continue to gamble then gambling will take away double your winnings from you and you will give it away willingly because gambling will make you so addicted to it that you will not be able to stop betting

I think $100 is still small to have a feeling of quitting at a betting ground although depending on how much a gambler you are staking. If what you are winning per stake is $100 then it is just a game for winning $100 and there won't necessarily be need to quit but if you are playing like 10 games before winning up to $100 then you have played as much as either 10 games or lesser , so you can quit if you want but playing only one single game and win $100 then quitting doesn't show you want to risk anything. In gambling you have to take a risk and it is that risk that can make you win higher .
1017  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Success or Fail? - Talking about Gambling as a major income on: December 07, 2023, 06:45:52 PM

Here one can never imagine permanent income in business and gambling because business and gambling can never bring permanent income and make a person rich.

I hope you really understand the ending part of your post because you just made a classification of business to be the same with gambling in terms of not being able to give steady income and make someone rich. Business and gambling are not the same,. because business is a very certain way to get steady income and many people have made it through it and not gambling. Of course every other thing we do in life to get to live financially about from employment and other jobs is business and not gambling.
1018  Local / Nigeria (Naija) / Re: Faulty POS terminal or network issue? on: December 07, 2023, 04:39:34 PM
Well this issue about POS network wahala I think say na personal things most times. Although network fit be issue sometimes but you self go know say na general for a certain bank. The thing be say some customers no dey want hear say network no dey from their bank and them go say make POS person try and after trying na hang e go hang and wahala go dey be that.

Another issue be say some customers need to avoid some certain POS wey dey hang deir money. I no want call some banks name but we know some banks dey easily get network failure, so we suppose know when to use the pos. If network no dey, make we still wait until network come instead of forcing it.
1019  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Sympathetic gamblers looses itself on: December 07, 2023, 03:32:43 PM
They are basically to believe one who lost $20 has lost more to them who looses $10.

The question should be, how much is 20k worth to the one lost it and how much is 10k worth to the person who lost it. Bankroll differs amongst gamblers, supposedly my bankroll is over 100k and then I loose 50k, and then another gambler's bankroll is around 10k and he looses 9k, who would you say have lost more money. Me or the other gambler?

To answer the question for you all, that person who has lost higher percentage of his bankroll proportional to his bankroll is the one that has lost more and the one that deserve sympathy if at all that is done in gambling because everyone who has come to gamble should have the knowledge that they are staking for winning or for losing and that one of the outcome will come to them.
1020  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Gambling and Behavioral Change!!! on: December 07, 2023, 03:02:36 PM
Does any of feel behavioral change in you based on the win/loss in gambling. Myself had experienced it, and personally I used to be happy and I used to be polite with my family members and kid whenever I am on profit. On the day of losing it changes exactly in the opposite way, even for simple things I get much anger. Particularly while giving food to kid patience is must. On winning days I let him take his own time and eat. On the losing days I used to shout at him. I'm addicted, and I want fellow gamblers to make a self analysis at regular interval and be on the safer side.

This is not funny even though it is coming out funny and you are not the only one in this  Grin

Majority of the people are having this transfer of aggression to people around them, they get irate by their losing and begin to behave in a rude and threatening manner and when they win then the family will be cool and merry.

Is this not a sign that gambling is not for fun  Huh Grin This is the sign because if you get angry because you lose then you didn't actually playing for the fun but the profit that you are expecting.
