121  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Spells of Genesis - Innovating the Game Economy with BitCrystals (BCY) on: September 18, 2018, 06:12:30 PM
I was just wondering if it would be possible to implement buying gems in Spells of Genesis with Bitcrystals (BCY)? I think it would greatly increase tokens utility. And also makes whole "eco-system" independent from FIAT money, which is an important milestone IMO.
I assume that this might be impossible due to google play restrictions. Is maybe possible to have both options? FIAT and BCY purchases.
And there is another problem - price volatility. Which would make it hard to set price in BCY.
Has the team already put any thought in this? What are other obstacles?
Finally got a reply for you:
"We haven't done it due to the regulations of apple and google indeed. Buying gems with bitcrystals is something we want to introduce in some way at some point indeed".

Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any further questions  Wink
Yea, that's what I thought. Too bad this whole "app market" is so centralized. It's almost you chose either google play/apple market(and their rules) or die.
Let's hope you will be able to implement BCY purchases some time in the future. For now there is no question that being on mainstream markets is (much) more important.

I am aware of those communication channels, but it is good to talk in public forum sometimes too (it is much easier to find specific info here then),
@hnin I heard about game so called ATABLE - could you tell estimated date when this game will be launched?

I think it should come out this fall. You can check this post for some links related to this game: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=957797.msg45124282#msg45124282.

2020 is too far away for me.

I want to cash at the ATH dec/jan. and convert to fiat. Use some, upgrade my mining, spend some, and hold fiat for the low low bear and throw it all in. From then on, 2020 is fine, but i need a good jump first.
Ehm... You just missed one jump. You should have FIAT ready now and go all in. I mean... LOL, Market won't work according to your wishes. But you must work regarding market cycles if you want to take advantage of it.
123  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] [ICO] [SPF] SportyCo - Decentralized sports investment & funding ecosystem on: September 16, 2018, 02:41:06 PM
The announcement of the Avaí FC Token Crowdsale has been covered all over the world. While we expected a big splash in Brazil, we were very nicely surprised by the attention out project got in other countries, including (but not only) the UK, US, France, Russia, Turkey, China, Korea, Japan, and the list goes on and on.

Whole blog with list of articles from all over the world: https://news.sportyco.io/2018/09/16/making-a-splash-in-world-media/?utm_medium=facebook_post&utm_source=facebook&utm_campaign=avai_media_list
124  Other / Meta / Where to post? on: September 16, 2018, 12:19:55 PM
I just have a quick question just to make sure I'll post new topic in the correct board/ child board.
I am going to make a description of a service called LoCoins - https://locoins.io/. It's basically a platform with which you can buy/sell cryptocoins in your local shop. They currently operate with 4 currencies - BTC, LTC, BCH and ETH. If further description is needed I will be happy to tell more.
So I was looking for the right place to post it.
I would pick "Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Service Announcements". Can someone just confirm me that this is the most suitable one? Thanks!
125  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Marketplace (Altcoins) / Re: Building a store that accepts ERC20 tokens on: September 15, 2018, 10:16:13 AM
If you build a store that accepts them they have more purpose than Bitcoin.  A token with stable value is far easier to use as a medium of exchange than Bitcoins whose price fluctuates wildly and is non inflationary.

The small market value of tokens also make them easier to tailor fit into a micro ecosystem.

Has anyone coded transactions like this with erc20 tokens?
I don't think decentralized token with stable value exist. And usually they're manipulated very easily due to low trading volume and low market cap.
126  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Physical bitcoin - Is this the future? on: September 15, 2018, 09:38:47 AM
The beauty of the bitcoin is digital figure and its use through online purchasing and payments against services etc. So, I think we should have to provide internet for to make it common and I think there may not be a single country who do not have the facilities of using internet, even internet is almost present everywhere.
Sure for online payments, you wouldn't use physical form, obviously. But what if you are paying at a restaurant? Will you wait approximately 1 hour because they want 6 confirmations? What if you just happen to be in a store and there is no internet access? Will you wait until the internet comes? I never said we should go 100% into physical form. But it still brings some advantages. Actually, it brings a lot. I think adoption would also be a lot faster if BTC would also be represented in some secure/fair/transparent etc. physical form.

No restaurants I have been to have waited for even 1 confirmation.  Remember they also serve you food before you even pay, so if your intention was to be an asshole and not pay you already could have done that without bothering to prepare a Finney attack.

As to offline payments, there are a few forms of paper "bitcoin check" which one can prepare in advance.  The simplest is probably the check which has on it a private key containing some sum, of course the proprietor can't check or transfer until they go online but this is how cheques have always worked.  Another is to prepare a signed transaction,  very similar in practice as the proprietor can't check that it's valid or will clear until they go onilne.

Physical forms aren't going to help you with this stuff.
Don't you think they would need some kind of "safety switch" if the use of BTC would widely increase? They just can't afford to lose money if tx does not get included in longest chain. Yes, they serve you food before you pay, but imagine you "pay" go home and see the other day that tx was not included in BC. How big is a chance that you'll resend it? I think a lot smaller then paying for food while you're still there.
Got any links of this? Haven't seen it yet. Making tx offline would also work well yes. But again there maybe a way to exploit it. I.e. use fake app. I think the ownership exchange of money must be instant, with minimal to no chance of exploit.
I am 95% that an old person (50+) who is not very familiar with computer would listen to you easier if you can hand him a paper before starting talking.

I think Spells of Genesis is quite interesting game, and I am very excited about new games from bitcrystals ecosystems,
Is there here any of devs with us at bitcointalk?

128  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 14, 2018, 07:10:23 PM
We got close to ZEC price again in last days, but did not get ahead. I dont believe Monero was ever more expensive then ZEC so far.  This was sort of destined to happen because of the emission. Doubt many here speculated it will not happen this long. Any ideas when Monero will get more expensive then ZEC?
Probably soon (2-10 days). But we will see if the higher price will last. I am no expert in TA but it seems like they have pretty similar support levels (around $90-$100) so we will see which one will be stronger.
What do you think the consequences of this "flippening" may be?
BTW. Just saw this article today explaining how private ZCash really is.

A lot of support from Digibyte fans under comments in OP. Good to see.
Can anyone describe a story of DGB and Binance? (When they first applied? How many times? Officially or just community try? Did they reply with reasons for not listing it?)

Week 5 has ended!
Hello everyone, payments for week 5 have been sent in this transaction . Definitely have enough for another week.

The devs have asked me to make this rule change. Instead of being able to do a maximum of 30 posts a week, the limit has been reduced to 20 posts. Any posts that exceed this limit won't be paid for.

Questions are welcome!

New applications all denied..

Thanks for payment.
Guys read this above quoted post so there won't be any crying later on.

Right now its just sinking to the bottom of the ocean, next to ethereum.... Angry
You can always look from the other/bright side [1]: Finally, some cheap DGB's wanting to buy them for a long time. Also, the ether price is finally normal, now let's start shopping. (Makes 1st purchase out of 10 in next year or two)

[1] Bright, if you believe in DGB/crypto on long term.
134  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero - A secure, private, untraceable cryptocurrency on: September 12, 2018, 09:32:17 AM
still holding some monero in an ols passphrase (one word missing )  but i am sure there comes a time that it will be worth seeking for the last word to get access to my monero wallet , i have the time
Were you already looking for it in December 2017, January 2018? But now you lost most of the motivation? (almost started looking these days) Smiley
yep , you got me , in the meantime i already found some options for it but with that i also realized myself that it would cost months/years to solve this and all i said was that i believe that there will be a time that it will be worth the time
Cheesy hehe
If you know exact position of word in your passphrase and if this (https://github.com/monero-project/monero/blob/master/src/mnemonics/english.h) still applies then you "only" need about 1625 tries. Smiley You can try once every day and I believe once you will find the right one it will already be worth it. Wink

tanx mate i already found some info that this was somewhere to find and i was going to try them one by one , but you give me the lost motivation and i am trying them now , i'll let you know when and if i succeed
I don't know exactly how do you enter words for recovering but I am sure you can automatize the process at least to some extent. So you won't have to type every word and it you will go through faster.
Anyway glad I helped and good luck with "treasure" hunting. Smiley

Network
 Hash Rate: 609.21 MH/sec
Why?!
Price $104, ratio Price/HashRate = 1/6, few days ago it was 1/5, few weeks ago it was 1/4, in December-January 2018 it was 1/2.
Does this even matter? And if yes, how, why?

Now it is especially interesting to observe the prices on the cryptocurrency market. All the coins again fall much. And Xmr and Dash are almost in one place and the price does not fall.
And strangely, ethereum is even below monero and dash, it seems the bitcoin effect is more devastating to the price of a few coins or with so much supply.
Monero's utility is pretty big compared to other coins. About ETH - most ICO's were raising funds in ETH you can only imagine how many companies have to sell it right now for expenses or other needs + some FUD. People are holding some tokens and companies are selling ETH they earned during ICO. I think this is the main reason for it's big(gest) fall.

Dumb question, but is staking or masternodes something that may unfold in the future? I know they are POW right now.
Thanks
I've never heard anything about this. And since they have very good system of POW which uses 5 different algorithms for mining I doubt they ever will.

than you are wrong

they will be modification to change some algos, and lot people asked for pos , so there is a high chance they working on adding that also to make it hybrid

and it s a good think because it will get more poeple into dgb,

new people who wanna stake and don't do mining, and it will also reduce the amount of dgb from exchange
Oh ok, didn't know that. Thank you!
Sure I think it would be good thing to add. DGB already is kind of hybrid with it's 5 different algorithms. If they would add PoS system for 2/7 [1] of blocks it would be very good.
I mean this just makes it more secure and less likely to be attacked. Or am I wrong?
[1.] Or something like that. What do you think would be best ratio? 50% PoS, 50% PoW?

137  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] Spells of Genesis - Innovating the Game Economy with BitCrystals (BCY) on: September 11, 2018, 11:04:14 AM

What this game needs is to entice many other collectible card gamers, by sponsoring a massive card collection contest. Put a 100K USD prize for anyone(except the SOG insiders) who can complete ALL the cards both blockchain and in-game cards - 228 in all. 50K USD for the second placer and 25K USD for the third...then do an all-out marketing campaign... see how sparks fly!

Another contest can be, a prize in USD for anyone who can score the highest in CHALLENGE using 4 kinds of admin-determined NORMAL cards fully upgraded(non-blockchainized). This will encourage more play time to hunt for the cards and then for trying to upgrade and win the contest.

I hope they will think of such ways and means to make this game more exciting to play.
That's also very expensive promotion... It may be interesting yes. But rewards you proposed are too high IMO. Especially in times like this for crypto, when most of average Joe's only want to get away from anything related to crypto. So I think this would only cause that people who already know SoG would play more, not attract more new people.
One problem is also that you would HAVE to buy a lot of cards, which can be very expensive and a big turn-off for a lot of people (including myself).
138  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Speculation (Altcoins) / Re: [XMR] Monero Speculation on: September 11, 2018, 10:42:19 AM

Cointelegraph (owned by Minergate) is not in good standing with the community. I wonder why the owner of xmrwallet.com would choose to advertise there of all places...
It probably still reach a lot of people, which is good to attract new people to get to know Monero. [edited: 1740 views of this article until now, which is not really a big number IMO] Probably better then other media news. And of course in the end it all comes to price. Maybe Cointelegraph has lower theirs due to smaller demand.
Anyway, good to see development on making using Monero easier for average user and on increasing it's utility.
