141  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ever heard of this "buy at dip and be rich in the future" on: May 07, 2022, 06:22:38 AM
:'(I think you made the right decision as you bought into some good coins. Now all you hot to do is Neflix&Chill..lol while you watch your money grows to become rich in the nearest future as predicted. Sounds funny but its the truth though.

If he really did buy at the time of creating this thread, then I must say that he is on tons of red right now. He won't lose money though if he bought on spot and doesn't plan to cut losses. Better scenario is that he bought some good coins when btc dumped and is now watching some greens. Either way, he can just DCA if he did not cut some losses yet. That is if he still has some extra stablecoins or cash to spend and of course, this only applies on spot positions and not on leverage. Not that I am saying you can't DCA on leveraged trades it's just that people don't do it that much including me.
142  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: sports betting sites that return your money when you lose. on: May 07, 2022, 03:10:56 AM
Or maybe he doesn't understand what is gambling and how does a legit gambling site operate.

It's hard to be fooled in this world, even an obvious scam, there are still people who fall from this, well, it's not anymore the fault of the scammers but their fault because they failed to educated themselves to determine what is scam and legit.

Which is why I posted it here to ask about it since I do not have any idea about online gambling. Prior to this I only gamble with friends or at least people I can see but after being invited I got curious about online gambling hence I tried asking here. I was hoping to get good advice but did not get enough in time(was expecting too much) and so I had to try it out myself to really know and understand what I am getting myself into. I just thought of the money I placed as payment for some new knowledge and experience. (There were some good responses though which I really did appreciate)

And so I decided not to take out my money even with all the complaints I have seen from another gambling site with the same functions as this one I joined. At least I learned and have been able to share my experience to everyone specially the very few people that may be the same as me who does not have a lot of experiences on online gambling. Right now I am reading some online betting tutorial and checking out sportsbet.io.

~

Common sense is there but having a friend of a friend referring it to me, as courtesy I'd have to check it out. Only problem I had was being too considerate of others. And yep, the logic of business losing money couldn't be easily applied to them since they were posing as a charitable organization rather than a gambling business.

But yes, I admit that I really had no idea about online sports betting at the time of creating this thread and was eagerly looking for expert insights. Oh well, just small change.  At least, I learned and that the people who are new to this online betting thing would be able to benefit from this thread as well.
143  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "NFTs are overrated, over valued and nothing but useless tech fetishism" on: May 07, 2022, 02:58:14 AM
Let's be honest, from all the aspects you are mentioning.

Do we really need NFTs or not? IMO, we don't need NFTs at all like the example of the case "Gaming" even Steam or some developer don't want their game using NFT. Like, we already bought the game and we must buy the item asset to play the game with potential risk of our asset.

To much things using NFTs, while the reality you don't need at all.

Well, it depends entirely on a person's perspective and specially on the needs. Of course, at the time it didn't existed we did not need it same as crypto. But now that we have seen it and its potential to solve several problems, some people will really need it. A great example are the content creators and musicians that are turning into NFTs now. NFTs grants them full ownership of their work and be able to get the most out of their efforts. That in my opinion is a life saving utility of NFTs for them. And while the other utilities have not been fully understood or utilized well enough yet to their fullest potential, I believe that as time goes on, more utilities will be discovered and the existing ones would become fully understood and be able to improve even further.
144  Economy / Economics / Re: What crypro / tokens has the most utility ? looks like all are useless on: May 07, 2022, 01:34:54 AM
There are tons of shitcoins out there right now I agree but there are also others that have real utility either for ease of access for something, fun, satisfying or whatever plus the profitability potential. What you are saying is that there are no real utilities right? Well those are and there's a reason why these coins increase in price specially the ones that have been here for a long time.

Same for you, show me the utility for like the first page of CMC, not all 50 of them!

Let's start with the bottom 5 for example:
PAX Gold
Moonbeam
Secret
Gnosis
0x

What utility that no other coins can replace do these 5 have?

You were too hung up on proving your point that you missed to understand what I was saying. It would be nice if you would try to re-read my response to OP or at least this one part from my post that you quoted "There are tons of shitcoins out there right now I agree but there are also others that have real utility either for ease of access for something, fun, satisfying or whatever plus the profitability potential." By your response you are implying that I have said all or the majority of the coins existing right now are of great utility. Also, by being under that state of euphoria of being right, you have also missed/ignored the utilities that I have mentioned.

Oh well, that's your opinion. I have no say over that anyway,  I appreciate the enthusiasm to converse though.
145  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "NFTs are overrated, over valued and nothing but useless tech fetishism" on: May 05, 2022, 03:05:16 PM

Yes, as it is nowadays one can really say that NFTs right now are as what the title says. I even mentioned in the post how those custom made apes and monkeys skyrocketing in terms of hype prices is way beyond me. However, the title just portrays a shortsighted opinion about the NFT space. And so with this thread, I attempted to highlight the big potential of this new market and the great opportunities that may come along with it in the long run. Of course with the hopes of seeing some other opinions as well since I may also be wrong with what I am thinking. xD
146  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Look what I've found on: May 05, 2022, 02:22:18 PM
Great post man! Most of the things mentioned on this saved note of yours are very funny and very relatable to most of us here in this forum specially the ones that have been here for quite some time already. Seems like you really have had a fun journey in this industry over the years to have been able to write or find and relate to these things. Thanks for this post, really needed a laugh right now. Gave you some merit, hope it makes your day as much as your post has made mine! Cheers! xD
147  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance blocks crypto accounts of relatives tied to the Russian government on: May 05, 2022, 01:53:37 PM
I'm not a political person, and I dislike having political arguments but I feel exchanges are going the extra mile to harm people with the lock of accounts, it is not anyone's fault the governments in power are fighting themselves. I have seen a couple of complaints from Bitsamp exchange users that their account has been locked too with the deposit and withdraw option being disabled, that's so uncalled for but by the way, this is what you get in return when they tell you to stop using centralized exchanges but no one wants to listen.

Seeing the responses and thinking more about this, I really see this as a bad move by Binance. People trusted their centralized exchange and went through all the trouble of trusting and exposing their real identities to this exchange and in return Binance does this. Binance as an exchange specially one that is on this industry that values privacy and independence to some extent, should not be influenced or if needed be just a bit but not fully controlled by any government. I honestly expected Binance to at least have some backbone.

Well, we can't blame people who use centralized exchanges too since not everyone has access to reputable people or platforms that does peer to peer trading. Investing and converting to fiat is difficult for some places in the world and exchanges or custodial wallets that offer creditcard deposits or bank transfers are what most people prefer than risking to transact with people they do not know.
148  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: MicroStrategy Finance results unveils how whales suffer big loss. on: May 05, 2022, 12:55:44 PM
It is quite hard to assess the gains or losses of big whales specially those that have existed for a long time already and are very active in this industry since not every piece of bitcoin they have on their wallets can be said to have been bought at the same time or at the same price and if by some miracle yes, then the speculation of not having just one wallet would be another variable to consider. But say that we only focus on a single wallet, the above variables still exists. And to be completely logical about it, these are funds that are very difficult to liquidate or turn into fiat which makes those numbers unreliable.
149  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ever heard of this "buy at dip and be rich in the future" on: May 05, 2022, 11:41:10 AM
I think that OP may have based his decision on popular opinions of the forum users, which is which to have great potential and profitability. While it is not wrong to look on others’ prospect, it is essential that you do your own research too, and make sure that you understand what you are getting into. I would agree with @Oasisman, as long as you don’t impulsively sell, you are still in good place. Also, try to avoid doing things that could trigger your emotions into feeding your mind that you are losing more, because that could lead to making impulsive actions.

This may really be the case and this is a big problem that newbies need to be careful with. If back then, over shilling and FUDding was already a problem, even more so today. Shilling and FUDding has come to a whole new level being visible almost on every social media platform reaching more newbies than ever before. Which makes newbies make rash or impulsive decisions being emotionally affected easily by the contents they see everywhere. Either due to lack of experience or lack of basic knowledge about the crypto market. A few example of these people would be easily found on the comment box of some of Elon's tweets. There, you will see people talking about how they lost a lot or even lost everything because of taking Elon's trolling seriously.
150  Economy / Gambling / Re: How to get Free games in china? on: May 04, 2022, 08:41:30 AM
Thank you to @Similificator for making this clearer. I guess you just have to connect with interested developers, OP, so that you could know how to pursue this idea. If this will be possible, and successfully executed, then this would be a big thing that would be loved by many gamblers who wants to a have a private game and those from countries that are prohibiting gambling activities.
all of these. Just a little idea, i know talk is cheap ,show me the code, but I’m not software engineer
will somebody knows how to get it success,or interest of these, maybe we could to join a telegram group to talk this!
Btw: I’m learning English hard everyday , if you can’t understand me, just point my fault , that will be very helpful to me ! Thank u everybody!

The idea itself is pretty plausible and a lot may want this kind of service as well but if I were to be honest, for Chinese citizens such as you @seagullx, even when such a platform gets created, I highly doubt that you would be able to utilize their services because most probably, the platform would not allow certain countries to participate or use their services. And the way I see it, China will surely be one of those countries since there are strict laws that prevents gambling there. Because regardless of how it is being done, gambling is still gambling and I highly doubt that such platforms and their owners would risk compromising their reputation and hard work as they may get chased by regulators if they try to force offering such services to countries that do not allow such services. I guess the only way you can gamble online is via the traditional way; using VPNs.
151  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: "NFTs are overrated, over valued and nothing but useless tech fetishism" on: May 04, 2022, 07:40:36 AM
Can you explain to me like I am five, the benefit in this example you mentioned if historical art pieces are produced as an NFT?

The benefits I can tell you now are:
- Being able to reach more people without having the trouble of traveling, like online exhibits for a specific group of people that have purchased rights to be on that event in the metaverse. (Of course, nothing beats seeing the actual pieces in person but as the metaverse gets more common these type of events will happen a lot. Specially at times like these when vaccination is required most of the time for travelling, non vaccinated people can still enjoy art.)

- Helping museums make ends meet at the times of pandemics such as Covid which is still affecting us to this day.

- Helping millennials become well aware of historical arts making way for historical knowledge and appreciation to be preserved and passed on easier compared to traditional ways of displaying and promoting historical arts.

There may actually be more benefits than what I have mentioned so apologies if those are the things that I can currently think of at the moment. And of course, there are also disadvantages but as this space matures, I believe that most of these disadvantages will get taken care of gradually.
152  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Reducing Bitcoin Transactions in El Salvador on: May 04, 2022, 06:51:37 AM
The reason for this reluctance may be because the government has not created much learning system for the people before legalizing it. Or in simpler terms, they did not give a proper introduction like seminars. El Salvador would have been better off delaying the legalization and focusing on educating their people about this industry to rake in interest. While it may be a bit too late for this, they can still hold seminars having a few bucks as baits to make people show up or free courses. One way or another, some people joining these seminars/free courses will finally learn to love the innovation that the blockchain can offer specially when the speaker on these seminars are well versed when it comes to talking about crypto and speaking on seminars.

Another reason that I can think of is because of the decline happening in terms of price in the market. Which is pretty natural in my opinion considering that most of the people that are not interested in crypto do not know much about it. Hence they take the $30 then bounce out. On good market conditions though, the numbers may change drastically.
153  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / "NFTs are overrated, over valued and nothing but useless tech fetishism" on: May 04, 2022, 06:10:06 AM
Is how people commonly take NFTs as.

And I'm like, really now?

Look, it is pretty obvious that as long as there is interest, there will be demand, and with demand, there will be traffic then money. This is what NFTs nowadays capitalize on. The hype of the "New Thing." Which are seen by close minded people as the title which is only the surface.
This is nothing too complicated but most still can't manage to see this.

What makes NFTs important and revolutionary is not just the art and the games that we see nowadays. There is so much more to NFTs than just that. While it is evident that crypto related games today are mostly ugly and are reliant on profits, it doesn't mean it'll stay like that forever. And the art? It won't be just the custom made apes and monkeys that aren't even that great to be appreciated as true art. How they skyrocket in prices is beyond me. But hey, each to his own, just as how anyone has their own fetishes. Just saying that if these type of arts are already being appreciated this much today, what more in the future?

The main point is that most people failed to take into consideration that the NFT industry is still in its infancy. Honestly, the way I see it, the huge potential of NFTs when it finally matures is unfathomable.

Things we should be excited about with the NFT industry in the coming years :

- Gaming : When games finally become truly fun and not only profitable. Which would rake in the multi billion dollar gaming industry outside the crypto space.

- Arts and multimedia :
* historical arts * - When historical arts like the starry night, Guernica etc., get approval from owners and museums to be produced as an NFT to reach many more people that appreciate its art and historical significance, it will be massive!

 * Music and other media * - Just like how television and radio were over taken by smartphones and computers, multimedia NFTs will overtake the likes of Spotify, iTunes and other paid streaming services. Just a few days ago, I came across an article about the experience of a composer/musician in the world of NFTs and he has earned more than he has using these streaming apps. What's best is that artists like him doesn't have to surrender the rights to their works anymore. The guy is now making 85% of his living off NFTs. And he's just one of the many that are in the MultiMedia side of NFTs today plus there are more that are considering this alternative as well. In fact, here in my country a couple of celebrities/musicians/influencers have just coordinated with a developer and started a project where they create a platform that caters to artists and content creators that want to venture in the NFT space. Just imagine what'll happen if more celebrities decide to jump into these platforms in the coming years!

- Other utilities : Being used as tickets to concerts and more which already happened a few times already. Souvenirs from specific shops, memorabilia from iconic stars and athletes and so much more!

#Moral : Do not be easily satisfied with what you know. Do not close your doors to possibilities and be ready to throw some knowledge in order to make space for new and better ones.

- P.s. I may have missed some info but I think you guys pretty much understand the value of NFTs.

- PP.s. If you were interested with this topic, then come check this one as well : SocialFi Discussion Thread. I would really love to see your thoughts and would really appreciate them. Smiley
154  Economy / Economics / Re: Binance blocks crypto accounts of relatives tied to the Russian government on: May 04, 2022, 05:23:21 AM
Ah so you want us to help you decide? Well, for me this action is improper because number one, Russian citizens are innocent and it wasn't their fault on why there is a war between their country and Ukraine.

Number two is, the person is away from the country of Russian but the sanctions are only supposed to happen under the country of Russia and I am curious if how they will know that the person is relative from those who live in Russia? Did the authorities force them to tell? And maybe they give threats that if they don't tell, the truth, something bad will happen to them. They don't have a choice and their relatives but to follow the order.

In a sense, maybe? lol. But yes, your opinions are greatly appreciated. Smiley

If I'm not mistaken, this was probably done with the goal of creating a wider scale assistance to the sanctions imposed on Russians. This may be an attempt to hinder other relatives of Russian people to still be able to evade the sanctions via crypto and so they extend the bans to relatives which would make it impossible for Russians to pass assets on relatives outside of Russia and make them do the trading, investing or liquidating.

And about the ways, I must say that what you're telling me right now is quite absurd. I mean, this can possibly happen(which I hope doesn't) but yeah, I think they just made use of the technology nowadays instead of resorting to such means.
155  Economy / Economics / Re: What crypro / tokens has the most utility ? looks like all are useless on: May 03, 2022, 03:01:05 PM
What crypro has the most utility ?

I worked with almost all important cryptos from coinmarketcap and none has real utility beside gambling ,either they are to complex to implement or useless.
None i can use as database ,very few you can bridge, none i can implement in real life projects ( open doors etc ) and almost all are difficult to integrate in projects to sell digital goods
I really hope someone will invent a usefull crypto for real world problems ,if crypto will continue on this path in a few years people will figure it out that almost all are useless...sry to say this but this is the truth.

Gold for example is a metal that you can shape / work in to objects and has physical / chemical properties that you can use + it's a limited resources.
Fiat / Crypto is some sort of storage of value with no real utility ... at least fiat i can use it as toilet paper or make fire if to cold outside.Crypto has zero use in real world, took me a few years to realize this.

What I'm trying to say is that it mainly depends on the perspective of a person and what he needs. And we all know how diversified our minds and lives are which results in a huge variety of needs and wants. The reason why you are saying that might be because you yourself haven't found a "real" utility that you need or is up to your standards.

While I agree that we still lack some real utilities to solve some existing problems in and outside of crypto industry, I believe that we are already heading into the right direction and it would only be a matter of time until we see tons of better projects popping up or already existing projects reaching parts of their roadmaps that offer better solutions whatsoever.
156  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: ever heard of this "buy at dip and be rich in the future" on: May 03, 2022, 02:30:14 PM
It wasn't the right decision atm to invest more into the cryptos. There are many dips here and there since the market isn't lively as it used to be after the peak last year. Most investors I know just hold on to their bag. Only buy in the dips if you think that coin is undervalued atm and will have a strong recovery after a set of time, either for the short term or the long term.

The problem is that there is no such way to exactly pinpoint the right time to buy since this market is very volatile and dozens of indicators can only do so much to get us near that bottom. I get your point though, knowledge about basic trading is a must and would give us a lot of advantage. But the main takeaway is that no matter how many your indicators are, there will always be some times that the market won't follow your prediction which you have gotten from your favorite indicators; at some point there will be trades where you'll lose. So the best solution is to have a trading or holding plan tied to your portfolios and only invest amounts the you can afford to lose.
157  Bitcoin / Bitcoin Discussion / Re: Bitcoin and the future of crypto 10 years from now. on: May 03, 2022, 01:59:15 PM
10 years down the line, middle east will be accepting bitcoin for oil. Major economies will have included bitcoin in their finances. crypto ATMs will be common. Banks will issue crypto credit cards. Swiss banks would be offering safe services for storing your keys. US will be frustrated and struggling to keep dollar as the international currency. We will still be here rejoicing we were on right side of history.

Indeed, this is really very likely to happen in the year to come since there are already lots of hints that bitcoin right now is gaining a lot of recognition and is drawing in eyes and attention of the big players due to its current popularity and the solutions in can offer to existing problems plus its potential to provide new business opportunities to business minded people that can see its current and increasing demand. although, I am not so sure about the 10 years timeframe though since it can take a bit longer or even shorter than that depending on a couple variables that may occur in the coming years. But yes, stacking up as much bitcoin as you can would prove to be more beneficial in the long run as it gets widely accepted.
158  Economy / Gambling discussion / Re: Australia to ban Pokies on: May 03, 2022, 01:30:27 PM
It may really seem as something unfair but just to give them the benefit of the doubt, there may really be some heavy reasons as to why they have reached such a decision. A cause may have been present that would be detrimental for the entire country itself like uncontrolled over gambling that is already affecting the youth and all(although I can not be so sure since I do not know anything about the situation in Australia). On the other hand though, this may be because they just don't want something that is out of their control or something that does not give them much benefits. Whichever the case is, it would be nice if the people are also given a chance to debate about this or be given a voice to speak out. I mean, gambling has been around for decades and people have been used to it. Maybe with good talks, the people and the government may reach some sort of compromise that would be able to benefit both sides.
159  Economy / Gambling / Re: How to get Free games in china? on: May 03, 2022, 12:53:57 PM
its like ,we can't play real money online poker in china, but we can play free chips poker and gamble with friends in our club by 1 chip :1 real money 。 to platform, they only make money from expend players chips

Yes, it seems clearer for me now. so you are saying you want someone to facilitate as an admin for a club that has real human members or friends where you can bet with using the chips which the admin is providing in a 1 is to 1 ratio like 1 chip is = to $1 right? And then the admin which provides these chips and the platform in which your club is in will make money by imposing tax of some sort for the services the admin and his platform provides? Is this what you mean?

If so, I think that this would be great as a new project. Like creating a platform that offers services like what you have mentioned and has options in being anonymous or creating a room that is private and only accessible for you and for the people you give invites to. While also utilizing a stable coin to use as chips or something like that. It can be a trustless system that wouldn't require an admin anymore and just the platform itself.

It would be pretty nice to see some developer insight about this.
160  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Which ICO tracking site are you following? on: May 02, 2022, 04:16:01 PM
There are quite a lot out there that google can provide but most have the same functions and ICOs displayed. ICOdrops, ICObench etc., and there's also ICOs that can be found on coinmarketcap. Wherever you look really won't make that much of a difference except time of posting and explanations which doesn't matter that much in my opinion.

The question that you'd be better off asking is how to spot a good ICO to invest in be it money or effort. Which has been asked in this forum several times already and answered dozens of times by several forum members that had lots of experience in dealing with ICOs. If you try reading through most of these answers, you will see that there are valuable pointers being mentioned and in some cases, personal experiences plus strategies and more.

These information in my opinion are far more valuable than links that display ICOs or even signals of some sort because you are the one looking for ICOs, you are the one reading about it's roadmap, you are the one verifying the identities of the developers, you are the one measuring the level of their marketing strategy, you are the one immersing yourself in their community to see how solid or toxic it is and not just some random people you don't know who created a website that displays ICOs and rates them with god know what standards.

Not that I am saying all ICO website or ICO rating websites are not trust worthy, I am just saying that most aren't and that knowing more than the information that an ICO tracking site is feeding you is much much better.

I hope you get my point and that this helps you.
