LOL I'm not going to theymos or anyone else with this.

This thread is an announcement of a serious devaluation of the quality of this forum.  Rubbing it in, so to speak.

If you guys let it stand (and don't fix the rules) it's a clear message to the community.

"We don't give a shit what goes on around here".  Or Maybe "We have no concern with operating a quality forum".

"First" doesn't keep you on top forever.
Says the person supporting "BOT"  lol, idiots.

I'm currently "supporting" 10 coins and looking at increasing infrastructure.  What do you do, talk shit on the forums?

You sound bitter as hell about one of the best releases in the last month.

For the curious (and myself) I've pointed a copy of Block Crawler at this wallet.

http://lotto.coinworld.us/CGB/blockcrawler/

This will be up for most of today, for those who like a peek at the blockchain.

Nothing is posted here but a generous bounty would make it "long term" Wink

Also CGB Lottery is live (see above posts) and accepting deposits.

A block explorer has already been contributed earlier in this thread and a reward paid out. Send me ur address and I will send a payment for the efforts anyway. Keep the contributions coming please. The technically skilled are embraced here. Pm me ur info as well if you wan to be included in some other projects. A pool would be wonderful Wink

Sweet of you.  I didn't see it earlier in the thread but I just skimmed while we were integrating lotto. Since I put it up I figured I would ask Wink

So far Block Crawler is holding up no problems with any wallet. I'll leave it up until such time as our load issues are too much.

I believe this device is available for 1BTC + shipping and it's called the "Block Eruptor".

You might have to wait for some of those additional features though.

EDIT: I looked it up for you

Thank you. Looks like it is already almost done.

I really didn't read up on it again, but the price has dropped by half I think maybe they're in the second round.  You can buy (way overprices) this on amazon.com.

That's not BFL. (though they may not do any better.)

... people with a sophisticated understanding of ASIC design and sCrypt internals determined it is not economically viable, and likely won't be for decades to come...

Came across this today:

Will you produce a multicurrency device for example Litecoin?

Right now we are busy developing the ASIC Bitcoin miners but we have noticed the interest and we are planning to release a multicurrency device later this year.

WindMaster must've got bored. It's a shame, he was educational.

Anyways, these could mean "later this year" in the BFL sense, and still I think that's not going to take "decades to come".

Even I thought it would take a stable valuation of at least $10/coin to push it. We'll see where Litecoin goes between now and then.

Wait, you guys were going to delete coins off of the block chain?

Please read,

Quote
In fact we still aren't planning on removing those initial block rewards, partly because of some better sense that says a bunch of those blocks are now probably in other people's hands.

We were NOT going to delete coins off the block chain and still aren't planning to.

What I read is "we thought about it but realized everyone would immediately abandon the block chain".

I quit hanging around "the GLD crowd" a long time ago. I didn't realize how crazy  things had gotten.

Some innovations/improvements to consider:

- Total anonymity Zerocoin
- Decentralized exchanges Open Transactions+Bit Message
- Compatibility with other currencies: Ripple
- Faster block rates -->Merged mining+5 Seconds Block rate?
- Putting all that hashing power to better use Folding@Home
- No block chain bloat -->Hyperprune?

I think you don't deserve to use Bill Cosby profile picture Sad

I think you just made his point.
315  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Lets make Bitcoin 2.0 and combine all innovations of the past years into one! on: June 27, 2013, 09:01:29 PM
The problem is, you dont fix whats not broken.... Thats what your trying to do..

BitCoin is not broken, does it have some flaws, sure. But because of where BitCoin is now and attention it has received worldwide, BitCoin will only be improved upon, a brand new coin will not work, its been tried before many many times.

Someone will find flaws with a new one, and start yet another new coin, and again and again and again... Therefore it hasnt worked and wont work.

BitCoin will stay on top, sorry to say but you are spending a lot of time on this with no possible future.

Ahh, the glassy eyed look of the idealist...

Since bitcoin can't possibly take over, or even dominate world commerce, how do you see "no possible future" for any other coin/transaction system?

Evolution, It's now.

There are multiple people exploring methods completely outside of the "satoshi-sphere" as well.

It may not be a bit-clone, but it's perfectly reasonable that there could be several other digital currencies (crypto-currencies not private vcurrency) with the current level of acceptance that Bitcoin has within the next few years.

"no possible future", indeed.

Cool. I would be willing to donate some coins (not for tickets, but to increase jackpot amount) if I knew where to send em Wink

I stay out of most of the drawings.  But in this case, for a new coin I've decided to play a little. taking <10% of the tickets i "payed for" i don't feel so bad.

Due to this thread and two other conversations, I'm thinking about adding a place where people can donate to the pot. Not many people would use it but coin devs and promoters, I think.  However this is not the first time I've been "asked".

Just an aside: There will never be a place for users to donate to the lotto owners directly on this site Wink

This is the first time I've added coins outside the script, it looks like they go into the jackpot correctly and aren't associated with any reservation to create tickets, so this should work fine.

Thanks for your support.
317  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like lotteries? on: June 27, 2013, 06:19:13 PM
The transparency request was more so a reiteration to the FAQ and Contact Us area. Maybe darken the bgcolor so it's not so harsh on the eyes. As far as hype, how about starting a 'Get a free ticket entry for using this promo banner in your sig for X amount of days. Or receive XXX of coin XXX when using this banner in your sig for XX days. Seems to be working for a lot of gambling sites. I like the lotto all in one place thing. Needs a header, and footer. Also, donation links for those willing to help fund the projects. Maybe throw in some strippers to the winning tickets randomly. Never hurts Wink

NOW HIRING ALTCOIN STRIPPERS

I woke up to my giveaway coins this morning, and a little bonus.

I bought 500 tickets, then sent 5000 more coins in ""the back way".

Let's Play!

Drawing is Sunday, noon PST.
319  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like lotteries? on: June 27, 2013, 06:06:47 PM
Change lotto to 12 HR for popular coins, 24 HR for less popular.

This is fail. Tried it.  It only works when 1 or more people are constantly, actively promoting the lotto in multiple channels.

To give you an idea, on a 1000 coin jackpot, I'm going to pocket something like 48 coins. How many hours will you work for 48 ALF? If it's more than 30 seconds, I might hire you as a promoter.

Change layout. Add a FAQ link.

The site is currently in it's third layout, and will change again today. If people start asking questions, I will add FAQ.

Add Contact us link.

Will be done today.

Add some transparency.

The jackpot and prize breakdown are in huge letters on every lotto page.

The link at the top of the home page takes you to a (ugly) page that describes how the process works, and how the drawings are performed.

As announced here and elsewhere, current fees are 10% plus .01 coin. Each owner collects 4.9% at drawing time, the rest stays in the wallet because when a big drawing comes, there will be big fees.

Are there other concerns, regarding transparency?

Get some hype.

Here we are Smiley

Thanks for taking the time to share your feedback. All is welcome.
320  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Do you like lotteries? on: June 27, 2013, 05:10:37 PM
Just want to share this post from another thread, and give a chance for anyone who missed this thread before to add any feedback that they have:

No the drawing is Sunday people will get in by than

Let's hope so. I like the idea, and I'm sure you can do a lot more with it.
Just thinking there should be some sort of initial jackpot. The jackpot for the next round can be something like 5% deducted from the previous pot. Might encourage people to buy in, instead of having a pot of "0".

I see that deposits are closed. hopefully it's running soon, so I can try it out.

There seem to be a lot of different feelings on "how a lotto should run". Having decided to go with 5 prize winners instead of the single "jackpot" that most crypt lotteries seem to present limits our distribution of the funds.

We've created a one-week drawing structure with several prize positions which means this lotto is going to run at a slower pace, and pay prizes to more people than most of the existing lotteries.

Those coins who have a community where "no one will go first" are going to be replaced after 1-3 weeks of resource use.  REC is already gone. And when a few people are interested and the jackpots start to look like this: http://lotto.coinworld.us/BOT/ things start to get interesting.

I've attempted to reach out to the community about this and other issues and received very little response.

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=241609.msg2561910#msg2561910

I don't like the zeros either, but a lottery is funded by the entrants. And I think that just as much as you don't want to "Be the first" into a new pot, there are a lot of other people that would refuse at all if their purchase of a ticket was used to fund another pot.

We will continue, and if people communicate, we will find an attractive formula. It's unlikely that we will implement a partial rollover but I will bump my other thread with this as well. If there are a large number of people who indicate that they actual play lotteries and are interested in this we will consider implementing it.

Thanks, for the feedback. I've been told that DGC has an active community of users and also gamblers. We have successfully run a couple of jackpots and hope to gain trust and enthusiasm.

This drawing has started a little late in the week.  However if there are lottery players in the digitalcoin community, there are three more days to grow a jackpot before the drawing. We hope to see you there.

We are currently supporting the following coins:

Digital Coin - DGC
Florin Coin - FLO
Bottle Caps - BOT
Feather Coin - FTC
Mega Coin - MEC
Emeralds - EMD
Trade Coin - TDC
Alpha Coin - ALF

Drawing time has been moved ahead (8 hours added) so that the drawings will now occur in PST when the lotto owners are awake to address any issues.

There are just over three days left before the next drawing Any coin with a supportive community still has time to grow a pretty hefty jackpot. Come Play!
