603  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] PowerCoin PWC RELEASE IS NOW! on: May 13, 2013, 10:08:13 AM
I just want to say this:

I was able to download the client 5 minutes after the creation of this topic. At that time, the client already needed to synch ~2500 blocks. This means at least a 100.000 PWC premine took place.

Also source was already on git for 16 hours prior to topic start, yet posted nowhere.

Just sayin'

I slept through this  one it's already > CPU mining.

604  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: BBQCoin Pool... hit it while its low difficulty! on: May 13, 2013, 12:54:39 AM
I had to abandon this pool it keeps going down and all stats have disappeared with quite a few blocks pending.

I'll keep an eye over here in case the owner drops in to clear anything up.

if you want to be really fair, you can supply a guide for the people who doesn't know how to solo mine, that way people can start creating pools, when all people can solo mine in the meanwhile...

~

or to be really fair.  premine the coin and then give those coins to the people who cry the most about how unfair the coin is.

I skipped half the thread to reply to this. I laughed so hard.

~~~~~~~~~
forum-goer: ehhhhhh, your coin is a huge scam!
Coin Dev: Here, have 50k!
forum-goer: We need to get this shit on an exchange!
~~~~~~~~~

right?

If you did it like that, you could just pre-mine the whole blockchain, maybe 100b coins...

I've added an other p2pool.

Here are the parameters:

cgminer --scrypt -o 88.161.131.83:8111 -u yourCNCaddress -p

statistics available here: http:// 88.161.131.83:8111

2% fee.

pool works well atm Smiley

Thanks Smiley
608  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Altcoin Discussion / Re: Franko install client has malware, dont download it. on: May 12, 2013, 04:36:44 AM
I love all the posts like "has anyone scanned this for viruses?" in the announcement thread.

Y U NO HAVE AV?>
609  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] New Crypto Currency FRANKO on: May 12, 2013, 04:30:20 AM
And I have a nice new tag Smiley

Why are scammers allowed to continue posting?

You keep your friends close, but you keep your enemies closer.

Also I'm almost done synching, but I'll probably need a pool. Any good pools?

Finally, IF there's any charitable early adopters (what's that, the first two hours now?) here we go:

Hi Smiley
611  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RoyalCoin - a new scrypt based coin on: May 09, 2013, 09:23:28 PM
Not to imply bob is cheating, but I've always got WAY less pay from his pool than from others' I mean 25% of expected.

Dunno but I hate p2pool so far with my low hash rate this is the first time I've ever gotten a payout from it.

at ~3kh any transaction is somewhere "above the expected earning rate" (MY expectations, based on experience, I'm not using calcs).
612  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RoyalCoin - a new scrypt based coin on: May 09, 2013, 09:05:39 PM
I hopped on BlastBobs pool just before i went to bed, about 3AM local.

took almost 8 hours to receive first payout, I'm happy now.

I still haven't gotten a solo block of anything (mmm look at that hashrate) but these are my first p2pool shares.

Thanks also always taking donations Smiley  RRP2JmnNuoLHjo6taywjBLwjq9LwAWrU7t

And for those who asked why people "beg" in new coin threads, it's because some people will share the early coins.  My first .5RYC was a gift. Some people said they got random 3-4 coin donations.

Look at my hashrate again Wink  The few cryptocoins I have are mostly gifts, and the only coin I have more than ten of is BBQCoin at this point  Undecided

Looks like a successful instamine (i like the new term)

Here's hoping that the blockchain doesn't lock up on you guys while I point my massive geforce 210 back at a coin with a pool for a few hours of sleep.  I'll keep the P4 pointed over here to "help out"   Tongue

Bah, still open for charity I might point my pathetic hashing at another coin 'til there's a live pool.

Need help with solo mining

Ive got it working on my main pc but I have 4 other PC's on the same network and cant get it to talk??

Main PC (192.168.0.98) is connecting using these settings and so far got 1 block confirmed in the last 1 hour :-(
cgminer --scrypt -o http://127.0.0.1:9557 -u username -p password --intensity 15,15,15

my other 4 PC's same network, can each ping each other and remote access as well

I then used this on the 4 pc's
cgminer --scrypt -o http://192.168.0.98:9557 -u username -p password

It wont connect, can anyone help me please??

rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcallowip=192.168.1.*

rpcallowip=192.168.0.* for his subnet...

...

already done that as well, got me beat

D'you know, it's been a while but some of this software (not sure if it was pool related or solo mining too) won't ever work until you enable IPv6 on the network connection you are listening on.

It's late but if I recall correctly it was causing some #coin to fail starting with warnings about binding the port.

The client would start up and crash right away.

You should see if that's set up on your box if it's windows it may not be.

doesn't sound related, but what the hell.

How about some specific instructions on how to mine this thing? I take it there are no pools.

This one is a scrypt based alt so any mining tutorial for litecoin, feathercoin, or a few other will get you rolling just replace ***coin with royalcoin as in

litecoinQT = royalcoinQT

litecoin.conf = royalcoin.conf

etc...

I haven't seen a pool announced yet.

617  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RoyalCoin - a new scrypt based coin on: May 09, 2013, 07:36:31 AM
2329 - 2957 in 10 minutes.

Probably the last time I'll post that stat but just to give you an idea if you're thinking about hopping on.

On a 5 second refresh rate my pentium 4 has found two blocks in about three minutes, both rejects.

I've got no real rig right now so I'm out of the solo mining thing around difficulty "1" but still, I do agree start at "0" is pretty silly with the hash power waiting to jump on the new altcoins.

In any case I'll be the first to ask for donations Smiley

RRP2JmnNuoLHjo6taywjBLwjq9LwAWrU7t

EDIT: yeah stale/orphan means someone else found the block while you were still hashing it.
618  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RoyalCoin - a new scrypt based coin on: May 09, 2013, 07:24:58 AM
I'm up to 3 connections, over 100 blocks found in the last 3 minutes, I hope I don't get into a big resync with so few nodes.
619  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RoyalCoin - a new scrypt based coin on: May 09, 2013, 07:20:08 AM
2329 blocks, 45 mins or so and well out of "bonus blocks" or what have you.

Diff up to .00019609 it will probably be too hard for me to CPU mine before I sync lol.
620  Alternate cryptocurrencies / Announcements (Altcoins) / Re: [ANN] RoyalCoin - a new scrypt based coin on: May 09, 2013, 07:09:44 AM
What is the time in Montreal? 3 a.m. when everyone is up and breakfasted ready to start the new day by downloading the coin of the day?

Lack of a repo is a pain by the way, as it needlessly complicates the normal update process of for d in *-git; do cd $d; git pull; cd ..; done

Also the OP does not mention which hashing type it uses nor whether it is merged-mine-able.
