Very good to see that the development of ECC continues. For those that also have Super in their portfolio....congrats with the recent price jump! The moment for ECC to make the price jump is also coming closer each day, especially now Griffith is working this hard on the new applications for the coin.

I expect that the price jump can go to 10 SAT or more.

Succes!

I have both ECC and Super, a LOT of both! Just want to echo that thank you for your continuing development of these coins.

@Griffith

Can you share information with us about how the filestorage on the blockchain will work?
Is it easy to use with drag and drop for example?
How does the user have to pay.... is it monthly, yearly or doesn't it have a time limit
Can a user use it to store and share it's documents with selected users or  are the documents only available for him?
Can it be used to store contracts of any kind and size so that law firms, real estate firms and so on can use it?

How are you planning to advertise it?

Thanks.

I am happy to see Griffith is still developing this Coin. Looking forward regarding the file Storage. - Maybe competing with Storj and Sia Coin...who knows.

I will have a talk to Griffith what we can do at the marketing side. Perhaps Youtube or Twitter Ads might be not too bad. Or an advertising Banner on Coinmarket Cap

Youtube videos comparing your coin to other get good audience

pushed a bunch of code changes to the dev branch tonight. GUI has bugs that need to be fixed but the actual coin code for the new upgrade works pretty well so far.

im actually considering deleting the GUI code from the ECC repo all together with this next upgrade and migrating it to a new repo for just GUI code that communicates with the wallet which would always be running as a daemon. This would also mean the coin would be moving towards having an installer rather than just downloading the new executable to run locally.

This would take a lot of work code wise and probably quite a few days so im unsure if i will be proceeding with that this update or put it off.

Great Buddy! Now lets see if we can start mining on this if possible.

Is there an updated roadmap?

Hi, yes. the second post is now updated with more detailed plan. it doesnt make sense to add any more dates, as i dont really know what they will be. although i will keep everyone updated on progress. will make a graphic for it soon.

@Griffith

Thanks.
i actually had asked a friend to help me figure out how to do advertising a few days ago, he is working on a plan. i dont have very many details yet.

a very high level overview of how it works is: a user wants to store a file, so they encrypt the file locally and upload it to the wallet (either on the command line or the gui). a fee to store it on the chain is calculated based on mempool size, amount of free space in the blocks, and size of file. The fee is how much it would cost to store it for 30 days (fee is in ECC) and the user can select how much they want to put in the "deposit account" to store the file. based on the amount spent is how long it would stay available.

so for example if it costs 100 ecc to store it for 30 days. and you spend 150 ecc, the file will be stored for 45 days. (can change cost view from 30 days to a single day, but its still based on how much is spent to store it)

the file is then sent as a transaction to wallets running storage servers and they store the data on their hard drives until the deletion date.

it is possible to add more time to a file by spending more ECC. the fee for storing a file is given to the nodes that are doing the storage. (so people get paid for running storage servers)

right now you have to select the file by either typing in the name of the file or using the built in filesystem gui that the operating system provides. i will try to add drag and drop if i can figure out how though.

yes. it is possible to send files to another user by using their public key to encrypt instead of your own, this process would be basically the same process as sending a normal transaction, you would need their address.

there is no restriction on file format. size is limited to 2 GB right now though. (can be removed in the future without any real recoding, i just have an imaginary hard cap set right now. MUCH LIKE THE 1MB MAX ON BITCOIN BLOCKS THAT SHOULDNT BE THERE. *cough*oh excuse me. sorry about that.

Sure. feel free to PM me any time about it. I was having a friend look into some of that for me as well.

Youtube videos comparing your coin to other get good audience

We are planning to expand our youtube video list and podcast archive in the immediate future. Someone on the team is researching / writing material for them right now.

Thank you for the support! =)

The coin is PoS only. so the way to mine is to leave your wallet on and unlocked for staking and you will mint more coins over time automatically (as long as your wallet is online)

Is windows wallet staking working?

Yes, as far as i know this coin has never had a problem with staking. (if someone has had a problem they have never mentioned it to me or in the thread)

Don't worry your wallet is working fine. Let it run online and you will receive coins when it's time. My wallet is online for 3 years now and staking fine  Wink

Now I do yes, in the beginning it took about 10 days to start...then it started to pick up.

When Griffith took over the ECC wallet 2 years ago it was full of bugs. He has fixed the whole code and now it's time start launching the new uses for the coin. He has done a great job and is with us for more then 2 years now.

Did you know that ECC is here since March 20, 2014
