There are several different types of Bitcoin clients. The most secure are full nodes like Bitcoin Core, which will follow the rules of the network no matter what miners do. Even if every miner decided to create 1000 bitcoins per block, full nodes would stick to the rules and reject those blocks.

In the Bitminersunion.org topic:

Just want to let everyone know we are currently at DEF CON !!! we will be back on Sunday and Monday we are going to have a 2-3 hour scheduled down time to move the pool to a DEDICATED 100 MBS FIBEROPTIC LINE!

With our powerhouse server super broad band connection and custom coded pushpool front end
we are going to have a huge week this week, and I am sure that we will have our first block this week as well.

"Powerhouse server super broad band connection" <3

Gratz to the upgrades, but what you're talking about is regular low/medium-range hosting.. Smiley
Still better then nothing tho!  Smiley

@Jine

Why do you have to be such a dick sometimes? You do that often in other pool-topics.
Afraid for the smaller pools? You started big?

Do you think people will hop over to you when you act like that?

It's totally unrelated to this thread, send me an PM instead - but let me quote someone else due to the fact that you quoted me.

So yeah, Jack, you're right to be concerned, every new pool recently including ours has to prove themselves. I however, will let the pool speak for itself and don't feel the need to try and force it to grow by offering rewards and bonuses, or pimping its 100Mb superduper fibre-optic line (lol?) like it's something special that nobody else has.

You put unrelated stuf in other ones thread to, you could have sent him a PM about the fiber-optic line too but you had to say it in the thread.

A 100Mb fibre-optic upgrade for a small pool is something special. Not for you maybe, but for a small pool it is.

I see a lot of people who say you act unfriendly to others, "not worth mining", etc... And now I understand why...
There are other pools with friendly operators, people who care... Bye...

is true that bitcoins.lc is screwing with stats by delaying it 0-3600 seconds? I can not find any warnings like that from your web page. (it is possible, I am not looking hard enough)
All I see is "Data is cached 45 to 90 seconds depending on type of data..." This is a good idea and perfectly fine by me.
Random delays of stats up to 3600 seconds is utter dog shit, especially without any warnings on the web page.

Cheers!

The block detection is delayed for up to 2 hours. The stats it self isn't delayed, but we made it harder to pool hop with delaying detection/showing of new rounds and blocks.
Exactly the same as BTC Guild, deepbit and other prop-pools does it - to avoid huge amounts of pool hoppers.

How can you say the stats aren't delayed when your site says:

Current round:  14 hours blah blah blah

and then 3 minutes later it says

Current round: 45 minutes blah blah
Previous round 13 hours 15 minutes

It does this ALL the time.  You are delaying stats.  At least acknowledge it and make it apparent to your users.  When your JSON API is giving incorrect "round_shares" for over an hour, that is called delaying stats.

Also, I asked you weeks ago if you were delaying stats and you without hesitation said you were:

Its your pool.  Do whatever you want with it.  I think it would be nice if you told your users on the stats page that they are possibly looking at lies put in place to try and stop pool hopping.

I drink it up!

Statistics such as the number of workers and the hash rate are not delayed in the JSON. What is delayed is the announcement of rounds and the resetting of the number of contributed shares. They are not lies in that full-time miners don't care if they are delayed.

It is the pool operator's prerogative to improve the quality of the pool for it's users by not providing immediate statistics to allow others to exploit it. I can see that every other recent post you have made is in some pool-hopping thread. This is not the pool for you, the statistics delay won't be changed so you can profit, you'll have to be content with your work being worth the same as everyone else's. In fact I would encourage statistics policies to be more absolute to deny the information pool-hoppers seek to make their exploitative gains, delay the announcement of new rounds until 50% or more of the difficulty has been contributed in user shares.

Stats are delayed but there is no warning on web page. This IS a problem.

They are not lies in that full-time miners don't care if they are delayed.
Do not care if block is found ? Really? I do care and I bet I am not the only one Smiley So, it is a bit dishonest.
Do not forget, that some hoppers actually jump back to your pool, when you hit a wall and get a huge block. No stat-crapping pools usually have a mining_charity role especially for this.
Cheers and happy mining.

PS! You are not a tiny pool that really has to worry about hoppers. They will add some speed and take you faster to the next bloc, so actually miners loose nothing!

I am not asking Jine to stop delaying stats.  I would love for him to do that but I realize its not realistic.  I AM saying that he IS delaying stats and he has admitted to delaying stats and at very least he should put a warning on the stats page that details that the numbers the users see are only accurate some of the time.

BTW, in a week or so it won't make a difference how a pool delays stats or whatever other method they take to try and hide their statistics . . . .

I drink it up!
