Some Development Updates

The new release is near Smiley.

Before we release the new version in a couple of days I would like to mention another feature that we have added the last days.
-Storing Arbitrary files on blockchain.
This way you will be able to add e.g. a decentralized image to your website or store css files for your website or whatever you like.
In order to prevent blockchain spamming we will limit this feature to 50 arbitrary transactions at once at first and will also increase the fee for transaction batches.
50 arbitrary transaction should be enough to store images or files with size of atleast 100 KB.

To show you the new version agran uploaded the current testbranch to his website, so on qora.co.in you can already explore it with nearly all features that will be in the next release.
Here are some test images I already uploaded to the blockchain:
http://qora.co.in:9090/2ndtest/thailand (96kb and approx 37 txs)
http://qora.co.in:9090/2ndtest/nature (460Kb and approx 179 txs) <--- this image was added before enabling the batch size, and should show you that there is really no limitation.

If you want to use a blockchain image on your website or profile you can just use /2ndtest/nature (<name>/<key>) or {{namestoragemap.getOpt("2ndtest","nature"}} if you want to have the whole image as base64 in your website

To show you guys the power of the new websites I created a webwallet and nameregister website! This can be done by everyone with own design and features:
http://qora.co.in:9090/webwallet
http://qora.co.in:9090/registername

You can also already explore the new Hashtag search:
http://qora.co.in:9090/index/hashtag.html?hashtag=qora

The namestoragehistory can be found here:
http://qora.co.in:9090/index/namestoragehistory.html?name=qoranightsky&amount=20

Hi there,
Newbie here sorry if it's a silly question: what should I do to withdraw Qora from Bter as I always get a 'Error:203 wallet is locked' error from the site?
On my Qora wallet it says on the bottom 'Wallet is unlocked'.
Thanks!

Hello guys, I tried several times to have an invitation on slack.qora.org but it seems that the page doesn't send the mail.

Can someone add me manually or send me the mail ?

i saw, that on this exchange, https://yobit.net/en/addcoin/, we could let add quora within 2 days for 0.1 btc.

Has anybody experience with them? Is it worth the investment? And if yes, is someone here who wants to share with me the costs?

I have some trading experience with this exchange. It does not matter if we can get listed there for free. But if we need to pay for it, I would say it is not worth.

The main reason is that there are not many active traders there. Also, recently the exchange has created a few coins themselves and listed them with some strange rules.

Just to let all the people know what's new and going on, 0.23 release is almost ready, vbcs is now doing some more tests regarding AT changes...so the release is a matter of days. All informations about this release will be provided when it's out, but some details have been already published by skerberus on previous page. 0.23 release doesn't fix the annoying GUI bug, as the developers decided to move to html based wallet and let the Swing gui to be rather optionable for advanced users. But the html based wallet is not going to be introduced in this release. Probably only sending money and registering names will be possible through your browsers now. Developers please correct me, if I am wrong.

So this release will be some kind of bridge between old and new Qora world but it's also bringing huge "arbitrary files" feature. Step by step we are moving to what I would call "marketable" release. But nobody knows, if its going to be 0.24 or 0.25 or ...

If you are experiencing the GUI bugs when forging, you can run your wallet without gui in order to forge with no problems. Visit #bugs channel on our Slack.

Many thanks @twospirit for the update, the developments are huge.
So I guess this new feature with the arbitrary files is the first blockchain app regarding cloud storage - something that storj tries to do / or is it something different?

This looks like a mapdb bug and/or a corrupted database. Delete the data folder or use one from here: qora.co.in/?datafolder
