I just thought I would create this post so we can add updates to how things play out with pirate
this week when referring to possible payouts to lenders and how it could change the price of BTC.
I know a lot of threads are discussing pirate, which annoys some, but it would be nice to have
a central thread to keep track of what is going on with 500+K of BTC and who it is going to.
Other threads are pages and pages deep and some people might welcome a fresh start with recent
news.

So far I do not know of a single payout since the closing was announced.

I do not know of any recent announcement by pirate after the closing was announced.
So this means Sat, Sun, and today.

Any and all news is welcome in this post.

thanks.

Thanks. That will be useful.

But who in the world uses that sub-forum.. sigh

Bitcoin Forum > Economy > Marketplace > Lending > Long-term offers

I would  not think to go to long term offers to find updates about a scheme that ended on friday.
I would go there for new offers that are long term :-|

If you see an important update and we don't have it in the Important Announcement post for Pirate's closing, please report it and a mod will add it to that post. If you're a VIP, you can add the update yourself.

Can someone please paste every line he posted to #btcst today?

EDIT: nvm, i'll do it. give me a sec.

Here's the raw, unedited log: http://www.bitbin.it/MKzYy6Bi

I'll snip and post pirate's comments in a moment.

Code:
[2012-08-20 17:53:37] <pirateat40> finway, it doesn't work that way.
[2012-08-20 17:55:03] <pirateat40> Inedible, whiskey
[2012-08-20 17:55:34] <pirateat40> finway, once my process is released you'll understand more of how coins move around.
[2012-08-20 18:03:20] <pirateat40> finway, which account is yours?  Ill make sure yours don't. :P
[2012-08-20 18:07:26] <pirateat40> Today is the start of a busy week guys, i'd love to answer all the 200 pm's but can't.  I'm around and you'll know when things start to move.
[2012-08-20 18:07:30] <pirateat40> pirate out

And then there's this guy:

Code:
[2012-08-20 17:35:28] <pirateat40_> ill never pay
[2012-08-20 17:35:30] <pirateat40_> hahahahahha

So, that was it for monday? No answers, no promises, no payments?

I know there is a link in this thread going to a different thread about payments made by pirate40 to lenders but this
is the first claim I have seen that someone got paid out:

Quote from: ErebusBat on Today at 02:52:58 PM
Just got my payment:  4k BTC baby! 024c461625eda936e310981c96339de58a0dd120b4959444928d29915a4cd651

Fake:
Is this for real? Was your account balance exactly 4000 BTC?
No... it was not for real.  My point was to prove that the following statement made no sense:

Do you guys really think people will disclose that type of sensitive information?

I think some will.

I dont expect all of them will. But it will help to keep pirate accountable and the person posting accountable.

It took me exactly 30 seconds to pen that post then watch BCI info for a big enough TX to come through.  There is no proof, and those that don't want to accept the proof will find a reason to not.

<pirateat40> Trading vs Shutting Down is a much harder than just clicking a button.  There is A LOT of money moving around and I want this done as orderly as possible.  The process began last night and has been happening all day but its not something that happens over night.  The repayment will begin with the earliest investors first, but its tricky cause some of them now run PPT accounts which isn't fair to some.  When coins being to move I'll let everyon

But it could also easily just mean he wants to be fair to all users.
