You are correct...there were only 12 people in the photo though, and the using the creepy woman at the back twice would have made it too scary (mental note: don't go into facial reconstructive surgery).

Fred Pirate Ride Sat 21 April 2012
by GregK » Wed Apr 18, 2012 9:19 am

Ahoy, pirates, bucanners, freebooters, corsaires,

This Saturday's Pirate Ride may be sailing from a different port. LBJ Park in Stonewall, to be specific. Looks like another gale-force day, similar to last Saturday. If only we could reef our sails.

Forecast points to gusting winds from north and northwest. I suggest two possible routes. One is the Sandy loop, probably ridden counter-clockwise. The other would incorporate Cave Creek and then up towards Willow City and meandering back via Wahrmund-Ahrens and North Grape Creek Rds.

I am looking for 1.5 to 2 hours of steady, more-or-less earnest cruising up and down hills, mostly to burn some calories and stimulate mitochondria multiplication. For those still interested in crushing hills in advance of West Texas climbing, well, my period for that training will have passed. (I may punctuate the group ride with some individual TT efforts once back at the park, as a final fitness honing effort before beginning sincere tapering for the Big Event.)

Open to other suggestions and comments. Hope to post a more concrete description tomorrow, or Thursday at the latest.

And by all means, if some Pirates prefer to ride out of Fred proper, please don't hesitate to post a "competing" ride.

--Greg Kagay

None of this proves anything of course (the standard no mexican hitmen disclamer applies) but it is an interesting lead.  Smiley

Also:
The only person that can really tell who is Pirateat40 is CrazyLane:

Also:
Pirate used to run s2expert.com, so actually BradonB@expert is his partner.

Quote
Brandon@s2expert.com or Trendon at Trendon@s2expert.com.

Another IRC log from the same channel (#cecc): http://pastebin.com/g55RpzNc

Quote
BrandonB|xpert_:        nah, i'd have to give god to trendon, i've learned a lot from him
BrandonB|xpert_:        People like me, Trendon, Bill, Zach have been here for over 2 years, and it's the same thing over and over again

From this it seems quite plausible that GregK merely knows pirate/his dropbox.
I don't see how it can be assumed that GregK is pirateat40.

The reason I'm reposting here is that the the OP was changed into:

  • A japanese translation of Harry Potter,
  • 100 gifs (well more than enough anyways) of a comedian doing the meatspin on stage,
  • A rant about freemasonry,
  • And finally a single dot. (".")

All within 10 minutes.  Roll Eyes Tongue

No news. Pirate is basically confirmed to be a thief at this point. Why people are still using gpumax is beyond me.

Yeah.. wheres some updates ?   Huh

Not looking good..

Personally, I think his plan was to crash the market, and he didnt plan on the price being this high, or thought the panic down swing would go much further, all in a plan to grab more coins than he has at a lower price..

This has clearly backfired dramatically..   If he went to cash on all those coins, what price do you think roughly he went to cash at ?

$5 ?     $7 ?   or near ten ?

He's fucked, plain and simple... and has to buy back all the coins.. and if he's legit, hes taking a hit, and quietly buying all the coins he can outside of the markets as not to drive up price...

Of course it was serious, like the serious cold fusion generator he created, or the serious perpetual motion machine in his garage.

Its not looking worse than 2 weeks ago, in fact, if anything prospects of pirate actually somehow paying out imo look slightly better than they did two weeks ago. But then I have to say, I always assumed it was a ponzi, so better doesnt mean very good Smiley.

What has changed recently? Primarily the perception that this is indeed a ponzi by a lot of people who thought otherwise until now, debasing the value of pirate debt and allowing pirate believers to snap it up at a huge discount. That is all that has really changed. The mathematical near impossibility of producing 7% per week ROI is not different from last month.

But  Pirate is still within his announced 1-2 weeks window, still hasnt lost his 5000 BTC bet, is still running and paying out gpumax.. He and his believers have every interest in making you believe he wont pay.  I already assumed that 6 months ago, so he isnt changing my mind, but if you thought Pirate was the real deal 2 weeks ago, I suggest you keep thinking that for another week, because odds have not changed. When his 2 week deadline has passed and he lost his 5000 BTC bet and Matthew (his backer) lost his 10000 BTC bet, then Id say the odds are changing.

True, but he loses BTC5000 EVERY DAY due to interest.

No that's just when the probability is within the "confidence interval" for a default. It approaches 100% over time. There might still be a 0.000000001% chance his cyborg descendants pay the debt by creating the omega device.  Roll Eyes
