I received word that the first gold coins have been minted today. So best case we might start sales next week. We need to receive the coins first to get good pictures of them and we will also likely assemble the auction coins right away to lock in the serials.

Okay, so we had a change of plan. The initial price levels and interest for our new gold parity coin has surprised our whole team and we are not able to price the coins with sufficient confidence that the pricing is right. That is why we are auctioning more coins from the first batch until we have sufficient price discovery. These coins will of course not have the special A serials but rather normal L/E serials assigned by us.

We may potentially auction all of the coins from the first batch, but at least the 5 for now.

You make a coin, you know design- and productioncosts and you can't determine a price to sell the coin for I think this is weird... Like Porsche designs and makes a new 911 and has auction like 5 cars first before they know selling price.

I don't think it is a good comparison. We've never sold gold coins and it is important for us to price the coins correctly. It takes us at least 6 weeks to produce more even if we decide to do that, and significant investments for us since they are made of gold.

We had a good plan for this until people paid 4500 € for the special auction coins. Our plan went out of the window then. We don't want to price them too low, someone will simply buy all of them in 1 minute. Then we'll sell nothing for at least 1.5 months. In fact we've had offers to buy all of them.

Auctions are a good way to figure out the price a little better, and then we'll list them at Denarium.com when we feel a bit more comfortable.

You are a business, right? so if you make like X coins and sell them with X% profit why would you don't care if they are all sold in 1 day or 1 week ? even if 1 person buys all, so what?

All your coins are sold in Euro on your website so it shouldn't matter what the price of BTC is even in comparison what people pay here at an auction in BTC

We're a business, and as a business we try to profit from the coins as much as possible. Right? If we sell something at 2000 € / piece and would have got 3000 € / piece, we absolutely suck as a business. Auctions help with this as a reasonable price for this particular product is simply a bit unclear to us at the moment.

I grabbed one before they sold out. As I am in the US I cannot purchase one preloaded. What is the process of loading BTC myself?

Update! The Denarium Gold Parity coin batch 1 has been completely sold out. We are currently producing a second batch which will include a small design fix. The texts at the back will be aligned with the texts in the front, which wasn't the case with batch 1.

Batch #2 will be on sale within a couple of weeks.
