The sharing economy is just going to continue to grow, and governments will be challenged to understand and manage its implications while embracing its benefits. However, governments will be at a significant disadvantage if they wait too long and newer technologies and markets will have already been developed that do not follow traditional models. Think of the following: Uber is the world’s largest taxi service and owns no cars. Airbnb provides lodging yet does not own real estate.

How will local governments adapt to these new ways of doing business that are disrupting traditional business models? All we know now is that governments are a long way from even contemplating and accepting this new reality.
I think the government will have a hard time accepting all this new modes of business since this doesn't benefit them in any ways. There would be a lot of trouble for sure if ever bitcoin will be handled by the government since the investors like it as decentralized. The threat that bitcoin may be used by government's greed is not a good thing and it should not happen.

They will really have a hard time before accepting or they might not because they will be transparent in all their transactions and they will dislike this kind of idea if the government is really stealing money from the tax that they are placing in every bill.

The grue lurks in the darkest places of the earth. Its favorite diet is adventurers, but its insatiable appetite is tempered by its fear of light. No grue has ever been seen by the light of day, and few have survived its fearsome jaws to tell the tale.

Governments will always want to be able to control and regulate bitcoin since it's directly related to financial value. In a way, it's a good thing, as it will allow for consumer protection and make it harder for scammers to get away with their crimes. However, too much control and restrictive regulation will always be a problem

It is very difficult to break the laws of the government. Usually, they only accept systems that has been tried, has been proven and most especially the one that benefits them. So, when bitcoin benefits them real good, that's the time they will embrace it.

That's what I agree with. Governments of the democratic countries have all the right to control everything to a certain degree since they were elected by the majority of people. I said "to a certain degree" because if they control absolutely everything they are no longer democratic.

However, in my opinion, the power and influence can use money to buy. You have saw many cases about the government system can use money to change the result since last year till this year. However, I do not want to talk clearly about this issue, because it affects the politic.

If we call crypto coins "crypto anarchy" then goverments hate us.
but if we stay as crypto community there is no problem.
I agree with you mate, impressions quite influential. Bitcoin in the past was dominated by sin enterprises. But now,  bitcoin is dominated by legitimate merchants and exchanges. I think bitcoin image has become good,  so many government are no longer hates bitcoin.
Absolutely, impressions are quite helpful in making trust to your users. In past, like you said, there was an impression that bitcoin is only used in deep web and all the criminal activities were considered to be dealt in bitcoins, thus people were not getting into it for their own safety. But now, as the impression is going virtue, people are coming into it and joining this world.

Yes that is true, and there is no way bitcoin can drop here because as long as there is still dark activity underground bitcoin will stay alive right away. And government could not have the chance to take control of this. But I just wondering, if you remembered past few years ago that cyber cops busted some criminal and confisicated their coin. How is that possible?
Bitcoins totally running as anonymous users. that's whenever goverment would't given chance technology will be usefull in goverment system or country. So far, bitcoins able be live 'til now, 'cause still used as activity illegaly.

If they cops, saving coins from one cases, I thing that's coins will be keeping as evidence on future crime.  Roll Eyes

Yes i agree with you, but still government impressions of bitcoin is still illegal because first of all they have not yet recognize it as legal currency and second is they think that virtual currency is the root of all illegal activities because virtual currency is transacted anonymously that they cannot trace it and one thing that why they are discouraging bitcoin is because it is a big threat of economy's taxation because in virtual currency it is a great tools of tax evasion.

there are some countries that are not in line with bitcoin. maybe his government always see bitcoin from the negative side. In addition, bitcoin may also affect the business they run, so bitcoin and government are sometimes contradictory. but, there are some countries that are in line with bitcoin.

I think so too, the government usually thinks bitcoin is a big threat to them because of its anonymity and yes it is also a big threat of the economy's taxation.

I guess bitcoin, made because it has a purpose to and that you mentioned about transactions with bitcoin is one of the asset why bitcoin made. Because of its anonymity many people grabbed the opportunity that have a underground business. Government doesn't recognize about the illegal transactions of bitcoin is it because it's decentralized.Unlike the government on which centralized.

It is true that at the beginning of the life of bitcoin, bitcoin was used mostly by bad people like that but as time has passed a new type of user has emerged that uses bitcoin for legal things so the image of bitcoin among the average population is changing and soon they are going to see bitcoin as any other currency.

The goverment was building the centralized thing that gives the goverment ability to control it. the bitcoin based on the decentralized system which means the bitcoin will be so difficult to be controlled by the goverment. The fact that the government must try to change its mind set about the centralized and try to understand about the decentralized thing.
That's why the goverment against the bitcoin.

Government or any other financial authority does not have control over bitcoin and blockchain technology so all the user's have complete authority over their finances, Iranian Government said that their country is establishing the use of bitcoins as the bitcoin and blockchain technology has the capacity to increase the economic stability of the country and improve the standard of the people, but in certain countries like Ecuador and Bangladesh the government     fear as they do not have control over bitcoins they have banned the use of bitcoins in the country and the Ecuadorian government has implemented a new digital currency of the country.

Governments will always want to be able to control and regulate bitcoin since it's directly related to financial value. In a way, it's a good thing, as it will allow for consumer protection and make it harder for scammers to get away with their crimes. However, too much control and restrictive regulation will always be a problem

That's what I agree with. Governments of the democratic countries have all the right to control everything to a certain degree since they were elected by the majority of people. I said "to a certain degree" because if they control absolutely everything they are no longer democratic.

It's a difference that makes the difference

You make a stipulation that governments (of democratic countries) can control everything up to a certain degree, but why do you make this reservation? If we are to follow you through, it could be claimed that since a government has been elected by the majority of the population, then they have full rights to control everything. Otherwise, this stipulation makes no particular sense. More likely, you meant to say that the majority should decide what the government can control and what they can not control. And in that case I would certainly agree with you, and there is no need to make such reservations

As in a quote bitcoin usage getting widespread, so governments fear of using it as it functions independently without the control of any of the authority. Governments were highly competitive in nature to grow over the neighboring country but all they want is control in their hands. Based on this fact, it takes time for bitcoin to get used in large scale.

Obviously yes, ico's has been banned in china ones before and its also possible for every country to happen. Government can manipulate bitcoin and place a tax on it in every transaction, Just do not use bitcoins for illegal transactions so that we can still use bitcoins in our country.
