so does it basically come down to who can provide a signed message from an address posted further back in time? in the case of the recently posted address for instance.

it is a proof of ownership, if a seller can prove that he own the account, then the buyer is safe for the possible retrieval attempt

Consider this hypothetical: An account is dormant for a few months. It is hacked, the hacker posts an address, and then sells it a couple months later. The account is then recovered by the original owner, who can sign a message from a post made a year ago.

but what if the hacker, deleting posts containing addresses many years ago, and then he made a new post adress and as if it was indeed her account?

Mind=blown. Well not really, but sort of. This never even occurred to me. I guess the ideal is to have a signed message from an address posted really far back.... a year or more, depending on he account rank. That would make this pretty unlikely.

can the mods/admins recover the posts to whatever they were before they were edited? if so this wouldnt be as effective in the case of a through examination, if not, thats an incredibly through way to take ownership of an account.

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.

The Bitcoin network protocol was designed to be extremely flexible. It can be used to create timed transactions, escrow transactions, multi-signature transactions, etc. The current features of the client only hint at what will be possible in the future.

My recollection from some thread in Meta a while back is that Theymos can indeed recover posts that were deleted, but cannot recover PMs that have been deleted. I may be remembering wrong. But I'm pretty sure.

Both posts and PMs are recoverable.

PM's are "more" recoverable then posts. For a post to be recovered, I believe that theymos needs to know the thread they were posted in, and I believe that no such similar information needs to be known about a PM for it to be recovered.

Ello i am new and people suggest me buying account to earn with signature campaign. May i know how much can i buy with 0.1 mBTC.

With that amount, you can buy full member-sr.member.
But probably only full member you may get . Cheesy

He didn't ask what he could buy with 0.1 btc, but rather, with 0.0001 btc (0.1 mbtc). So, I'd venture to say that, with that amount, you can probably buy no account whatsoever. Tongue

ops Shocked , I did not read 'mBtc' Grin
sorry this is my mistake..., Tongue
probably he can buy newbie account? Cheesy

That mean i can sell my account for another 0.1 mBTC? How many mBTC do i need to get before i can buy a full member or member account?

the price of the account "full member" is around 100 mbtc, may be more or less, adjusted for the quality of the accounts post

Member account would be 0.04-0.07 BTC or 30-50 mBTC, and for full member about 50-100 mBTC...
CMIIW, you can read on this thread how much is your account... Smiley

I agree. I've heard (and seen) a couple threads selling Legendary accounts and from what I've seen, most sell for ~ 2 to 2.5 BTC.

theres all sorts of prices quotes all over this thread; in the end, accounts are only worth what people are willing to pay for them. Ive seen hero accounts be sold for as low as .45, but sellers often tend to ask for much higher prices of course. but given the current market, these prices are rather high.

theres nothing here. message me if you want to put something here.
