If someone take this over he can receive up to 2k COV from donations and can buy same amount with like 0.3 - 0.5 BTC. Fixing the problem with the network + adding some features can make him really good profit, but so far it seems no one is interested.

Takeover Status:

Well, I already gave up about 200 coins. Will send another 200 or 300 to someone who decide to take it over.

I'll give 100-200 as well...

I will donate for redevelopment

I will donate  100 cov for redevelopment

I pledge another 60 COV... to the next Dev.

Who else?

just so you have a figure I will donate 150

Very cool. Even though I am somewhat responsible for this, I want to apologize. I am handing over everything (accounts) to the dev you guys select. Sorry guys. But you guys can make it work.. come on now, its crypto!

Someone has shown some interest but has not made a commitment yet! I don't want to get people's hopes up...as a community I believe we can do something with the project! It will take some time and patience is needed...the cov dev dropped a bombshell and now we just need to regroup.

Takeover Crowdsourced Bounty Status:

Raised, see below.

Raised. See below.

Specified, see below.

I will donate  100 cov for redevelopment

I pledge another 60 COV... to the next Dev.

just so you have a figure I will donate 150

I will donate 200 but tell me where and who will search for new dev
Raised. See below.

I am sure there is a dev out there that would take this on.  I will ask around and see if I can find one.

I floated the takeover idea to a couple people who I think could do it.  It's a slim chance, but a chance nonetheless....

I raise my donation to 500 coins. Smiley

I offered 500 COV personally...

... i'm preppare donate 500 COV! to new dev and takeover cov coin ...

I leave my Coven wallet running 24/7 to improve the network. Donations welcome: CTUya6iLHToR8EVNWqdZVQ1oc2P6CSX1PN

Very cool. Even though I am somewhat responsible for this, I want to apologize. I am handing over everything (accounts) to the dev you guys select. Sorry guys. But you guys can make it work.. come on now, its crypto!

Here I will give 50 cov........to takeover..

100+60+150+500+500+500+50 = 1860 COV

Who else?
(sorry if I have overlooked you. If you want to appear here, please say a number, COV or BTC)

Sell Order book right now:

   0.00017950 = last price
to 0.00050000 only 0.0762 BTC necessary
to 0.00075000 only 0.7571 BTC necessary
to 0.00100000 only 1.9960 BTC necessary
(beta.bittrex is offline, cannot look further up now)

So the 1860 COV are worth:

0.33 BTC at last price
0.93 BTC at 50k Satoshi
1.86 BTC at 100k Satoshi --> ~440 dollars

An almost guaranteed 440 dollars -if timed well probably rather 1000 dollars, or more- for saving a coin that has two exchanges, and a few more advantages ...

... is a lot of money.

Competent CoinDevs, come flocking to us - and present us your track record, please.

Last Price just jumped to 0.00051805 BTC

* 1860 = 0.96 BTC

= more than some coindevs are asking for the coindevelopment of a whole new coin...

...

That basically means some developer to work on COV until it hits those targets, dump it and game over.

I guess that is how most coins are working? Most of cryptocurrency might also be described at as a long-con Ponzi.
Even bitcoin itself - for those who dumped their bitcoins at 1000 USD a piece - they are laughing now, already for 17 months, a very long laughter.

On the other hand, no one forces that same developer to sell all his coins at one of the mentioned prices.
I have given them only, because those prices shall provide the explanation that 5.5% of the supply can become an awful lot of money. That is why I also wrote:

... dollars, or more ...

If an interested dev comes around, and continues to develop this coin over a long period of time, he knows that he can help to extend the price rise into a looooong upwards phase.
Slowly selling these 5.5% will give him much more. MUCH more. e.g. 1860 COV * 0.004 BTC/COV = 7.44 BTC

But I understand your doubts. Perhaps the payout structure should reflect that? Stepwise, whenever a roadmap step is implemented, he gets another batch? There are many ways to organize this.

Well, COV is just another shitcoin to me and despite that invested some BTC in it I'd rather lose them all insted participating in something, which could be another P&D scheme. I can agree that some developer can make good profit on it, but only if he works, deliver and hold. Nowdays this is nearly impossible and that is why I think that Coven is dead.

EDIT: The "dev" made the stupid mistake to say that he will no longer support COV. This action caused COV to be dumped. I highly doubt that the price will be that low if he didn't said that. In business (if we accept it as business) there are certain things you just can't say to people.

Show me a coin which can be proven not to be a P&D scheme? For which current cryptocurrency can you guarantee that it will be worth more than 0 USD in 10 years?

i think your 1860 coins must be sent to an escrow
only deliver to dev if real work on the coin

DNotes though you can't guarantee anything for 10 years ahead... even Bitcoin.

DNotes
What makes you think DNotes is not a P&D ... is simply that DNotes is still in its P-phase:
https://poloniex.com/exchange#btc_note
http://coinmarketcap.com/currencies/dnotes/

Once this (admittedly impressive) price rise will turn around and collapse into the D-phase
... DNotes will also leave a lot of people bagholding.

Why should it be different from all the other cryptocoins?

Agreed.

The escrow could protect ... the CoinDev from not getting paid.

But the investors need to be protected too. Namely from a CoinDev who does not deliver in the end, or bails prematurely.

Let us work out a scheme, in which the dev funds will be released step by step.

DNotes growth was natural imho (look at the volume through the months), it was never been hyped, team behind it is active and it is here for 1+ years. What more you can want from any given cryptocurrency?

EDIT: I can do the escrow. Will not risk my reputation for pennies and if my intentions was to dump it I had a lot of chances to do so.
