Most here are familiar with Zhou Tong's last tweet on Twitter which, on the surface, seems rather mundane.

For the record, only one person has retweeted that post.

(Feel free to follow that lead, for I've yet not.)

Some of you may have taken the liberty a while back and did some research on SurfAir and found the following:

Quote
Surf Air (formerly PlaneRed) is starting an all-you-can-fly membership airline that will offer first-class travel on executive aircraft in and out of local airports. Launching Summer 2012, we are simplifying and enhancing the flying experience.

But did you know that a link from that same page offers up the following: http://techcrunch.com/2012/06/06/members-only-airline-surf-air-raises-series-a-from-anthem-nea-others-including-jared-leto/

Quote
Surf Air, a new membership-based air service providing short jaunts between California hot spots like Palo Alto, Monterey, Santa Barbara and L.A., has just closed its Series A. And look who invested: Jared Leto, noted actor/musician/entrepreneur. Leto has already launched three businesses – The Hive, The One and Only Golden Tickets, and Vyrt – so he’s no stranger to the startup scene at this point. But his investment in this potentially disruptive new airline should turn some heads. (Actor/investor is the new actor/director, apparently.)

It's at this point that I want to go on record by stating that currently I have no reason to believe that Jared Leto is directly affiliated with any Bitcoin entity, including Bitcoinica or pairateat40's alleged Ponzi. But if I do find such a strong connection, I will publish it. That said, please bear with me as I outline why Jared Leto is important to the the presentation of this exposé.

Now I will connect the dots to Pirate.

Last night (early this morning), I published https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=104221.msg1145593#msg1145593 and presented the following image, first offered up on this forum by cablepair here.

Source: http://www.veidt.com/?p=119

You may be asking yourself how an image of a purposely overweight actor has anything to do with two recent episodes involving Bitcoin. I, too, asked myself the same question when the image of first introduced. After firing up Google image search (used to use Tineye a couple years ago, but forgone that practice), I stumbled upon this revelation.

The following image will aid in how Jared Leto entered into the fuller scheme of things.

The key part for this discussion is of Zach Nakaska: http://www.linkedin.com/in/znakaska AND https://plus.google.com/117414643911834461861/posts

In Zack's circle on Google+, we find Charles Lauzon who uses the following image as his avatar.

Interesting, to say the least, that a person of Charles' (Charly, Charley, Chuck) stature would choose such an avatar, but he did, and currently I have no idea as to why.

So, who is Charles Lauzon?

Meet Charles Lauzon: http://goo.gl/fw5d5 (I shorten the Linkein URL)

Quote

You may now be thinking to yourself that you've seen that likeness before. I did and, lo and behold, I found it. But first, a little more on Chucky Boy.

Charles Lauzon (a different link) likes to meet up with the boys every now and then. Here's another image of Charly (see name tag).

Looking a little more familiar?

But, before I present to you the image that connects him to Pirate, let's first visit a place where Charly likes once hund with future Bitcoiners. (I did edit this sentence during the initial penning of this post to reflect the '09 dated quote below)

On March 24, 2009 (this may be my first oops! moment on this thread, but let's please continue), Charles Lauzon stopped by this meetup group to pen the following.

Quote
Robit, enjoy Paris! Time here can be short...

Robit is short for Robert Salita who runs this [imghttp://www.meetup.com/ParisHackers/members/2807529/]http://hacker group in Paris[/img].

About the meetup group:

Quote
We are a group of hackers (not crackers), often readers of Hacker News, that meet regularly in Paris to discuss a wide area of topics like Entrepreneurship, Node.js, Fundraising, Webdesign, Apple fanboyism, FabLabs, Clojure, Start-up stories, arcane C++ optimization tricks, BitCoin, ramen profitability, … you get the idea : whatever might be hot and interesting.

Most likely, BitCoin was added prior to Bitcoiners using the more common spelling--Bitcoin.

Granted, there are several talking points within this post that possibly merit further discussion, but I guess I need to cut to the chase and present my closing argument.

Do you remember seeing this guy? (I placed the image of Charles Lauzon to his right for comparison purposes)

You win mega bonus points if you guessed: http://www.linkedin.com/profile/view?id=26935132&pid=35604655&authType=name&authToken=u32K&trk=pbmap

I find these two guys similar, but I'm not sure if they are the same person (at a glance, I'd say they aren't). One seems older than the other (nothing that can't be solved these days with surgery, anyway).

Why don't you guys just pull together 50 bucks and hire a process server to find all the Trendon Shavers in Texas?

If you get an address and it leads to a $100,000 house with a Lamborghini in the driveway with a license plate that says "PR8AT40", you'll be on to something.  Barring that, you'll be stuck trying to make these online connections such as this one, which are spider-silk thin, at best.

Over on the Thunderbolt website, there's an Edward Shaver. On eBay there's an EFshaver that got a feedback from a pirate who is currently selling these: http://www.ebay.com/sch/gijoepirate14/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25&_trksid=p3686

I bring this up because I remember a stop-motion pirate video posted on this forum recently.

I know that this seems rather skewed, but maybe somebody can find that video and see if any of the items for sale match those in the video.

Trenton Shaver (old fucker) ...doesn't equal.... Trendon Shavers (2nd husband, stepfather, video card trader in a face-2-face-meetup)

Sorry Phin...but at least it was entertaining.

In fact, there's a shit ton of information online about the Shavers family of which Trendon is a member (it's pretty easy to track who is related to whom) - who they are, where they live, where they work, etc is very easy information to locate.  There's absolutely no reason to believe that Trendon Shavers is an alias for an older guy called Trenton Shaver and every reason to believe that he's the brother of Rylan and Levin and son of Theodore Shavers.

GIS frequently throws up junk results (as does Google itself).  Don't assume its results are valid unless you can confirm them another way.

FWIW, I personally know many people who've used a "pirate" username over the years (the most common being Dread Pirate Roberts because The Princess Bride is a thing in some circles) - it doesn't mean they're connected, even if they live in the same city.

All I can say is that this is Bitcoin. I don't believe it until I see six confirmations.

Seriously Phinn?  Weatherford?  They are HUGE in the oil/gas area... the fact they have ties in other energy companies or in TX is not really a surprise.

Seriously Phinn?  Weatherford?  They are HUGE in the oil/gas area... the fact they have ties in other energy companies or in TX is not really a surprise.

But what is surprising is that there's a Charles (Chuck) Lauzon affiliated with them. The same Chuck that used a Jared Leto avatar connected with Zhou Tong, coupled with his likeness resembling that of a Trendon Shaver(no S), of which a Trendon Shavers has been connected with Pirate. Does anybody else see the waste management connection? (maybe I shouldn't have penned that)

Phin, you're going off on tangents again.  If you evidence of a connection between pirate and Zhou, can you please just post it instead of derailing your own thread with all of these tenuous connections to...something.

Why don't you guys just pull together 50 bucks and hire a process server to find all the Trendon Shavers in Texas?

People have had a lot of information about Trendon Shavers (including his address) for a while.  The question was whether pirate was actually Trendon Shavers or whether pirate had hijacked the identity of the real life Trendon Shavers.  The evidence that pirate actually is Trendon Shavers is pretty overwhelming at this point.  The next step is establishing whether or not he's done a skip (which should not be difficult).

Ok then, why don't you put together whatever small amount of money it takes to establish that a person actually lives at that address.  After that, you can attempt to find out if the resident is Trendon Shavers.  All I'm saying is, this stuff is cheap next to the amount of money lost, and no one seems to be putting it out.

I leave for about an hour to get a trucker on the road heading to Oregon with a load of barn beams, only to return to find my epic thread in Swahilihand. At least I learned from Jeff (the trucker) that while on the road he has had conversations with other truckers about Bitcoin and was taken aback when I bought up the subject. He was on a deadline, but he did let me know that truckers in general are fed up with the current way they have to pay for their fuel via some named and dominating service, one of which I forgot, although it was only a few minutes ago. I guess I was too excited to get back to my epic thread to remember such an important piece of information. I'll call him later and find out.

At any rate, about this thread being in swahiliand. I worked my ass off for hours to make sure all the facts were straight and even presented it in a coherent fashion, yet I still loose. I guess I need to do some more digging to get that well deserved BlowBob.

I dont get it.   Huh so... these two old guys are the same old guy?

One was linked to a partner of Trendon Shavers and looks a hell like another Trendon Shaver(no S).

Charles Lauzon used an image of Jared Leto, the actor, as his avatar, and the same JL is an investor in Surf Air, mentioned by Zhou Tong as his last tweet on Twitter.

Now I'm going to dig deeper and see what else I can uncover. Who knows. Maybe I'll find out that Roger Ver once dealt Magic the Gathering cards prior to becoming a Bitcoiner. A long shot, but I know of a certain guy that'll take bets on just about anything if anybody's interested in wagering.

I concur, hence adding the GULPPPPPPPPPPPP!, for it was at that time I realized one of us fucked up.  Roll Eyes

I did just re-found a thread via Google, and opt to include the following post from that thread which may, or may not, have any bearing on my ongoing investigation.

So they invite Mr Anderson to spooksville 2 months ago to give a lecture/presentation to them so they can make it seem like they aren't involved?

Seems likely they would do it that way, that's why they didn't!

When I heard the CIA wanted to talk with someone about bitcoins, I knew from that moment it was a ruse. The CIA knew about bitcoins long before that interview. It's their job. And it's their job to deceive.

I forgot to include that Surf Air is a members only Airline.

Quote
Surf Air does not currently own or operate aircraft.

Would you believe people are lining up via paying membership fees to fly on a plane that doesn't exist?

And to think that Zhou Tong linked to their site and some George Henderson guy happened upon Zhou's tweet and felt it merited a retweet.

An interesting YouTube exchange.

Quote
There is SO MUCH false information in this it's not even funny. They don't tell you about the HUGE amount you must pay upfront to JOIN..How much to "REGISTER" Wade?Huh You don't mention that do you!!. This is more than $20,000 a year....and they are putting people out of business. Not commercial airlines...This is a rip off...I hope people explore this before just believing what this guy is saying. You cannot fly all your want for $1,000.00. Trust me......HE IS LYING.

Quote
We're sorry you feel this way! We tried to be as transparent as possible in the interview, but would love to answer any questions you have at 650-479-5833 or info@surfair.com. Furthermore, my name is Jen, and I would be glad to personally speak with you if you sent an email requesting me. Have a nice day!

Sounds to me like this Jen guy (not sure who he is yet) would fit right in here on this forum.

BTW, that HIV pirate guy has nothing to with Bitcoin, as far as I know, but the Pirate naming idea could have stemmed from there.

Did you know that SurfAir has a French connection, and has anybody looked at the VCs that have invested in them, besides Leto?

How do you figure?

Of course there will be endless ponzi schemes.  People like to gamble.  Every other major currency has been used in ponzi schemes as well, it would be foolhardy to think coins will be much different in this regard.  Note of course, that by "endless" we mean there is a new one beginning.  Each one will end Wink

Bruno, I would like to work on some hacker/spy thriller fiction with you.

You know, when you're done with this.

You know, when you're done with this.
This is his writing process:

1. Shred a bunch of newspapers
2. Pick a random paper strip and write down a random letter from it.
3. Repeat this process until there are at least 300 characters
4. Add the characters "~Bruno~" to the end.
5. Post to forums
6. Smoke more meth

Just to be clear, I don't mean that in any kind of negative way. This thread alone was more interesting than any Ludlum book I've read.

Since I see no smiley, I assume you have the red-ass for me for some reason. Must be something I'm doing that's touching home, eh!

Looks like I came full circle: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=609380.msg7033621#msg7033621

Therein I connected Zhou Tong's last tweet (at the time) where he tweeted about Surfair, and now find out that Surfair was incubated by Mucker Capital. But, I not done yet.
