Will the trade wall be moved up past ICO ever?
Will the trading fund be allowed to trade GAMBIT?

While I am in dire need of catching up on some sleep, I wanted to post a short update.  Please excuse any sleepy grammar issues. Smiley

Things are already off to a great start. Gambit is sitting on page-1 over at Bittrex on the first day of ICO.  I have been sifting through the plethora of questions everyone has asked me here, via private messages, emails, tweets, etc. I believe I have nearly everything now covered in the ANN & FAQ posts.  If you had a question or believe a previous one wasn't clarified enough, don't hesitate to speak up.

Now on to the fun stuff:
1.) A couple exchanges have reached out already regarding adding a market for the GAM token. Our crowdfund is currently hosted exclusively through Bittrex, and will remain this way.  With that being said, upon distribution of the wallets and completion of the crowdfund, getting more exchanges on board will help offer additional publicity, arbitraging opportunities, and most importantly increased liquidity.  In short, the talks are going well and things are progressing nicely preparing for late May.

2.) Tomorrow we will be replicating this announcement thread to the other cryptocurrency forums in order to help cater to individuals who tend to shy away from Bitcointalk.

3.) This announcement thread will soon be translated into other languages. If you are willing to help translate, get in touch!

4.) The Bittrex market data has been added to the Gambit block explorer: http://explorer.gambitcrypto.com/markets/bittrex

5.) We are still vetting more traders to be added to the group.  If you are interested in making public trading calls for the Gambit fund (BTC rewards for profitability), or have someone in mind, feel free to get in touch.

Lots more important things will soon be announced here and on Twitter [@GambitCrypto].

Most Forex and Futures trading these days is high leverage.

Basically with only $1000 you can trade around $100,000 or so with currencies, gold, stock indicies, etc.

So if you guys actually really are "professional" daytraders why are you asking for money?  Please answer.

Because it's a scam
BINGO: We have a winner.

While there is a very good chance that this is just to cause intentional FUD (fear, uncertainty & doubt) for which this forum is well known for, I will play naive...

I would suggest re-reading the announcement and FAQ post in detail.  They are also being continuously updated.

(FAQ) Frequently Asked Questions: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1051324.msg11295496#msg11295496

The majority of us already day-trade for a living and will continue to do so, that is not what this token is about.  This token is about gathering a large team of traders together and offer an environment where everyone can engage in a friendly, transparent competition with each other and be incentivized for positive performance. The Gambit fund offers every trader that is helping manage it an increase in liquidity, the ability to manage slightly larger risk, and the option of using higher leveraged positions than they normally would.

Nearly 99.9% of all token crowdfunds have the funds instantly distributed to salaries, devs, and marketing costs.  These costs are seldom explained in detail, and the BTC basically vanishes the moment the coin launches.  With Gambit, the funds will be transparent and accountable to the public much like a balance sheet. This has never been done before...  Additionally, the funds may be used to acquire assets to help bring in more outside-revenue to the token, but only if the community votes in agreement (66%+) to make these decisions.

Nice speech. Doesn't change a thing. ICOs leave absolutely no incentive for devs to stick around and I haven't seen anything here that changes that perspective. Prove me wrong and I'll apologize but until then I'll stand by what I said. As usual the idea of a fast buck overrules common sense 99.9% of the time so if people want to throw their money away on your ICO that is their choice.

You'll never know what you're living for until you know what you're willing to die for.
Never look back, something might be gaining on you.

Proof of work nearing block 8000/10000, we will certainly be more than ready for Bittrex to review our blockchain, explorer, and source code upon crowdfund completion.  Just as an additional reminder, these blocks are mined privately to get the chain moving and ready for proof-of-stake wallets on the 19th. You can always verify the chain yourself by visiting http://explorer.gambitcrypto.com

More information will be announced very shortly, starting with the trader spreadsheets.

I'm going to support your statement.

Day trading for a living is -not- something that just anyone without experience can do.
Most people on here want to make a quick buck through making 'informed' decisions on the material presented on BitcoinTalk. They really have no idea what it takes to make consistent profit through trading all markets - not just crypto.

To reply to the many ICO haters I see. Lets not forget some of the biggest projects have all relied on a kick-start fund to get them off to a start. Whether its money to acquire non-current assets, or human resources, it is fundamentally a viable method to raise money if done transparently and there is enough incentive for the investor.
Factom, NeuCoin, Ethereum are examples of projects that people tend not to call scams and yet they're running or have run ICO's too.

The hard part is perhaps justifying the need for the token being sold.

After further consideration I would probably invest if the model was different.  This is an asset and should be done on the NXT AE. I'd encourage you to rethink the structure.

250 BTC+ marketcap right off the bat, eh? A lot of ICOs have been plummeting lately starting at less than that.

Is this really you in the picture, dev?  Cheesy https://www.bitrated.com/collincrypto/vouches

Cool idea. That's all it is until we see more, and I'm tired of losing money on "cool ideas".

I'll be watching this but I probably won't start playing til after the ICO.

Edit: this coin also gives me the feel of Via for some reason... Maybe it's the twitter figure dev (without a real picture of themselves) + lots of twitter support + 250 BTC ICO + cool idea

Hopefully this won't have a second ICO like via, and the cool idea will actually become something, and the dev will actually say something once in a while.

The 250 is an absolute cap to the crowdfund, as managing a lot more than that for dozens of traders having different positions wouldn't scale as effectively.  All coins that are not sold will be destroyed immediately. To put it into perspective, here is the current data if the crowdfund were to end now.

25.2369/250 BTC have been sold, meaning:
Marketcap: $5,994
Total supply: 252,367 GAM tokens.   2,247,630 coins (~90% of them) would be burned before the wallets and source code are distributed.

In regards to your other statement, there will not be a second ICO for any reason, ever.  Lastly, I am available for contact via Email, IRC, Skype, Telegram, and Slack so you shouldn't run into any issues there either. =)

Thank you for the response, I appreciate it. This project does look promising, and I see now that you are not at all hiding your identity like btcdrak did/does. Sorry for jumping to conclusions without looking deeper.

Are you a trader or looking to learn? Create a new account under these Gambit affiliate links. Doing so can result in discounted fees, in addition to the fact that 100% of the BTC earned from these referral commissions will be used towards purchasing GAM on the markets.

This is just one of many additional methods that are to be announced of how Gambit may bring in outside revenue to reduce the total supply of GAM since every purchased coin will be permanently burned.
