That is not correct. Currently the minimal is just 2000SC. It is called Collateral, and actually is one of the biggest advantages of Sia compared to the rest of the similar projects. Hosts offer a collateral as a guarantee that they will keep the files during the whole contract with an uptime of about 97%, or otherwise they will lose that collateral. If they are good hosts, all that collateral is recovered.

Without collateral, hosts could just drop the files without any penalty and use their HDDs for other purposes. So collateral is an essential component for making Sia trustless.

Yes, Sia is one of the few crypto projects that can brag it has a working product, and actually it has been working for the last 2 years. Currently the storage network is 3.3 Petabytes big with 100TB being used. You can download the client and start uploading your files or offering your some disk space and be paid for that. Which currency will be accepted during the ICO?

The ICO was over 3 years and half ago...  It was not for Siacoins, but for the second asset of the network, the SiaFunds. 1130 were sold at 0.5BTC ($192 at that time). Siacoins were never offered in an ICO: it is a mined coin, and developer team only pre-mined 100 blocks.

Does the team have experience in this sphere?

The co-founder worked for a while on IBM. All of them were MIT students. At this points all of them have experience on the field... because Sia is already a working product

WTF is wrong with that fking windows wallet? Seed and password the same which takes ages to write it then afterwards it asks for password to unlock it. I did not set up password so assume it's same fking gazillion words seed to unlock it. Can I get it right? No fking way!! 3 times in a row and i'm fking fuming!!!!!! Seriously?! Next time just make it more difficult to set up wallet which could be done more easier!!! Can not be bothered anymore...Will leave it on exchange

Hope we'll see Sia Lite one day, there's a lot of people who'd want a simple wallet, no blockchain sync, no 16 hour waiting or crap like that.You open the wallet, you put the seed in, do a fast transaction and close the wallet within 1-2 minutes.

Here's the best analysis of the p2p storage niche I've read so far...
Analyzing Filecoin, Swarm, Storj, SAFE and Sia.

They expect Filecoin to grab an 80% market share in 12-18 months...
But feel there will lots of room for small players to thrive.

Swarm will have the huge advantage of full Ethereum intgration...
Storj has many user friendly features...
Sia has many unique design features including PoW, but usability is an afterthought...
SAFE is written off as "in perpetual R&D".

Storage coin will be a big thing but there is no good product out there. A very good network less expensive as Google or Amazon will be a big thing, no suprise for the amount ICO raised by concurrent. I'm looking for a long time with Siacoin hope it'll be brighter future.
