You will need to be able to trade with other countries to be able to survive since you will have a hard time getting people to live there..

I think it's likely that you have to trade with other countries, yes, especially in the early stage of your Island (in which you have to invest a lot of money for the Island itself, but also the infrastructure and other facilities; like a way to get fresh water).  If you have a solid base, I actually think that are some people willing to live their whole self-sufficient. I think everywhere in the world you can find those people, you just need to attract them to your Island.

I don't think I would use BTC as the currency over there. If you would really need a currency in such place, you should create a currency that you can fully control on your own. However, in such "Utopia Island", i'm not sure whether you need a currency.

No, you would depend on eachother to survive.
So digital currency would not be te best idea for this.

I think it's likely that you have to depend on eachother to survive indeed, especially on such "isolated" islands. But, even then, I don't think there is a need for currency over there. Indeed, you can trade your goat for Coconuts (if that is what you want), but I don't think that is neccesary in the case that I expect people on such Utopian islands working together to survive. I expect them to have a mentality of "all for all"; work together to survive; and egoism is not appreciated.

It should be like that ofc.
But I think that there will always be that one capitalist that wants more than everyone else.
And that is the kind of behavior that can ruin such a perfect place.

You know what would be absolutely epic? A virtual game for this that modeled situations well. I would spend hours on that, but unfortunately all of the games that try to depict this kind of situation is much too unrealistic.

But anyways, Bitcoin is an online currency. I'd think that actual, physical currency would be a lot better for your little island.

If i have money about USD 1.000.000.000.000. i want to build an island in the international sea far away from any EEZ of any country and declare it as a sovereigh country and make it a new absolute monarchy where i am be the king of the kingdom....and of course using bitcoin as a national currency...

If you ever collect this money and decide to move on with this plan, I can recommend you Liberland, free territory between Serbia and Croatia, unclaimed by both countries.
You may offer this money to the authorities, buy this land and build your kingdom.
After that, you can rule as king there and choose your policy, national currency, whatever you want...
If you offer good salaries to your employers, I may move to your country
