Good day,

thanks for the software, but one question, how many Wallets can run on my Pi 2 (1GB RAM) at the same time without performance problems?

regards

Hi there, a pleasure.
If graphical wallets 2 depending on which coins, if daemons 3-5 depending on which coins.
(already synced of course as while syncing they use way more resources)

THX for your answer, on the Pi3 more Wallets (with GUI) at the same time possible or is the small RAM (1GB) the problem?

regards

so lets say i got my pi running with the rokos flavors os going....after i sync up my selected wallets how do transfer over my private keys and keep my stake weight?

hope that makes sense, i just want to move my wallets to my PI without having to actually send the coins to a new wallet...

You are correct, the problem is directly the Ram size, hence can hold same quantity of wallets as previous model.
It responds faster because the faster processor but Ram did not get an upgrade this time. Maybe in future models.

2 ways to do so:

1st) Check if the wallet you want to move comes from a db4.8.30 wallet version (from win, os or linux)

Wallets for ROKOS are built using the official db4.8.30, so if your wallet is already on the standard then you can just make a backup of it and move the wallet directly to ROKOS (to its proper coin folder).

else if the db is not compatible:

2nd) then you can dump your private keys from the main wallet and import them to the new wallet.

Most clients supports import and export of private keys with importprivkey / dumpprivkey

use is easy, just go to your main wallet debugg console and:

- dumpprivkey <coinaddress>

(write down the private key you get, you will need it to import it to the new wallet.)

and then go to your new wallet and:

- importprivkey <privatekeyyougotfrompreviousstep>

Very informative and helpful thanks! Also is there a detailed explanation somewhere on how to expand the storage on the raspberry pi?

As per https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1084908.msg13029601#msg13029601
In the wallet you want to use, add this command to the end to start the wallet

 -datadir=/home/datadirexample
So, if you mounted the external HDD to /media/yourhddmountpoint you will have to modify the launcher (the "shortcut") of bitcoin-qt to have

Code:
bitcoin-qt -datadir=/media/yourhddmountpoint

SoonTM
I had the honor (and the privilege) to test a pre-release version of ROKOS Core v7 for Pine64 and I can tell that it is a good distro and the OKcash wallet seems to be working pretty well.
There are some minor issues with the "instant sync" script to be ironed out (which is basically using a full database snapshot of the blockchain, as opposed to the "bootstrap" which is more like a database "import"), but as far as I can tell the bootstrap method works well.
I didn't have the time to test the BTC wallet nor any of the two daemons yet.
If everything goes well, I think we can see the ROKOS v7 launched next week...
Oh, it seems to have both WiFi and Bluetooth active out of the box for those who acquired the corresponding module/shield for their Pine (still need to test those two though).
Watch this thread and the discord channel at https://discord.gg/sfxUARd for more exciting news.

Steps for first boot

*Pine64+
User: pi  / Password: rokos , follow normal setup.

a) Login and open a terminal.
b) type:      sudo ./resize-sdcard.sh       (this will resize and use all the space from the SD card)
c) System ready for use.

Extra info command to auto-sync the OKCash chain in minutes:

a) Open terminal.
b) type:         ./ok-sync-arm64.sh           (this will download and unzip the latest ok-blockchain snapshot to the okcash datafolder for Pine64+ devices)
c) start your wallet after the process is done and give it some minutes.
d) your OK wallet is ready to be used.

Done, enjoy your ROKOS v7

*BananaPi PRO:    (v7 update coming up)

*Raspberry Pi:    (v7 update coming up)

Welcome to the ROKOS Desktop

Final steps / BTC and OK Clients

a) Go to Menu > Blockchain and Click on the Bitcoin Wallet

This will open the Bitcoin wallet with the option to select where we will be saving the BTC chain.

*For BTC the initial sync will take some days, wallets are fully usable after being fully Synchronized.

b) Always remember to make constant backups of your wallets and save them in USB or external media.

Use your Bitcoin wallet to plug HW and mine BTC, Send/Receive Bitcoin,
become a full node and support the Bitcoin network, develop new applications,
etc, the limit is only in your imagination.

Important Security Notice:
*) Remember to create a backup for your Wallets, you can use the wallets to create them and save in different folders on a USB device.
You should ALWAYS have a backup of your wallet, Pine64+, Raspberry Pi and IoT Hardware, Debian and ROKOS Software are under development hence not responsible for missuses, electrical or compatibility issues that might cause a loss of information. It is as secure as one's ability to take care for it, same as a computer, so always have a backup of your wallets on an external device.

*) Some people tend to recommend getting a 128Gb MicroSD HC (High speed) , at the same time it does work, We do not recommend this solution, as microSD cards tend to get corrupted by the number of overwrites, to ensure the best functionality and security you should use an external HDD/USB storage device to store the chain.

You can start testing and developing new integration with the Bitcoin and OK Tech for your IoT projects.

c) System ready for use.

Extra info command to auto-sync the OKCash chain in minutes:

a) Open terminal.
b) type:         ./ok-sync-arm64.sh           (this will download and unzip the latest ok-blockchain snapshot to the okcash datafolder for Pine64+ devices)

Raspberry pi models b+ has 512mb ram, ROKOS supports IoT devices with more than 1Gb ram,
I would recommend:

a) upgrade and get a Pi 2 at least.
b) wait for the ROKOS lite Release (headless version for pi zero and old pi models)

also feel free to join http://discord.me/cryptocurrency for support/feedback and latest updates. Kind Regards

OK is open-source; its design is public, nobody owns or controls OK and everyone can take part.
