This faucetlist gets more and more bizzar. Why are low paying faucets at the top? And why doesn't faucetbox show the average user payout because a load of them reward 1 satoshi despite saying e.g. "1000 satoshi sent".

I don't know if you remember that, but we did show the average user payout earlier. And faucet owners massively abused it by making fake payouts to their own addresses, which made this stat totally unreliable. How much a faucet pay doesn't matter anymore on the list. We only use user's up and downvotes. Unfortunately we don't have enough manpower to keep this list clean. But FaucetBOX.com isn't a faucets list, it's a payment cache. You should use much better 3rd party faucets lists instead.

[...]
They are using Tor Browser. I downloaded a list of Tor exit node IP's and put them in the banlist in the faucet's admin.
I also enabled Nastyhosts.
[...]
Unfortunately it's taking a long while before it gets listed again on Faucetbox and scanthebox (read: my ad revenue stalled).

Tor exit nodes change frequently, so a single copy-paste-forget isn't a good way. However Nastyhosts already blocks Tor. It uses this list https://check.torproject.org/exit-addresses and refreshes it every hour. A quick check using a random address from the list shows that it's working: http://v1.nastyhosts.com/176.10.99.208 .

If you're depending on FaucetBOX.com's list for traffic and revenue, then you're missing most of it Wink. I estimate that only ~30% of users use that list.

Blocking ips and tors is that real solution ?
I guess that's not a real solution just add some new protection features .

I personally like xapo faucet where a email is required and we can easily detect a bad user.

Email wouldn't change a thing unfortunately. There're hundreds of 10-minute-mails that bots can use. They can also just use aliases, for example on gmail if you have myaccount@gmail.com account, then you can add whatever you want after the plus sign and it will work as well, like myaccount+bot1@gmail.com, myaccount+bot2@gmail.com etc. So instead of endless game of blocking ips and tors you'd have an endless game of blocking mail providers.
Also FaucetBOX.com is all about users not having to register, that's what brings lots of traffic. Users get discouraged quickly when you promise them something for free, but only after they register. And if you also require their phone number for SMS verification... I know I wouldn't use such a faucet Smiley. However that's something that can be implemented in the script, it doesn't have to be done by FaucetBOX.com. Just make a faucet with registration and SMS verification. If you can't code, I think that it wouldn't take longer than a weekend for someone for a small fee.

I myself tried it using Tor Browser, I saw the faucet, could solve the captcha, but after clicking the reward button I get a white page, which shows up as a 500 error in my logs. And the reward was not paid out.

That was probably Nastyhosts.com doing it's work Smiley

Unless stated otherwise, all opinions are of my own, not FaucetBOX.com's.

The best idea is to block VPS because on VPS runs Bot like the Coincollector Bot that works with Faucetbox, Paytoshi, ePay etc... .
Block VPN/Proxy/TOR is a open question. There can be real users that is hidden by using VPN/Proxy and TOR and they would click ads for a paying faucet. The other thing Bots can be behind VPN/Proxy or TOR. That means a User can run a Bot on VPS with active VPN/Proxy or TOR.

Use E-Mail Address for verification won't help. There are tons of trash-mail address that can be used for E-Mail verification unless you've a script that checks if the mail address is a trash mail. A experienced developer can create a bot that joins with a trash mail and verify the email by using a html scraper and Captcha solve services.

Integrate a phone number verification isn't a bad idea. The important point here, you can find phone number verification services for free at the World wide web. The best choice is to verify a phone number using Whatsapp. This cost almost nothing and for a experienced developer a easy task.

My result: Blocking VPS Provider is the best choice because on such VPS runs Bots without large energy cost and this is profitable for the Claimers. Use E-Mail for verification won't really help. Blocking VPS/Proxy/TOR is hard to answer and the last one verification by using Whatsapp is a good idea that cost almost nothing and it's absolutely free from bots.

Cheers

You said there could be real users behind tor/vpn who would click ads for paying faucet but some ads aren't even showed for tor/vpn and those that are pay very low.
So when half of tor user are bots and other half makes very low ad profits there is no reason to let them access your faucet.

True. Then block VPN/Proxy or TOR is a good idea. Maybe they could get 80% of the payout what he should normally get.

@Kazuldur.

Maybe I was bringing it too positive, I don't depend on the faucet for making a living out of it, but I noticed the AdSense (which I have on other totally different websites, too), finally started to pay off. It might not be much, but it will help pay my road tax (and I am in The Netherlands, so it's expensive  Sad )
When I found out my coins were being stolen, I temporarily used a deny from all (to give myself some time and block the bot) in my .htaccess.

The best idea however was moving it to another URL (under the same TLD).
My very first faucet was listed in about three hours. And I had a whole lot of visitors shortly after that.
When I changed the info on Faucetbox.com I didn't get listed at all, but I found out the Faucet's name was not the same as what it said between the <title> tags (on line 6), so I thought maybe that was the problem. I used an HTML editor to write my text and that inserted a <head>, <body>, <html> and<title> tag from line 105, too. I took those tags out of course when I discovered it.

I decided to create a complete new faucet, as I was afraid the bot(s) might have found the API key.
With a new faucet I would get a new API key, so that's what I did.

So now I have a question, it is NOT a complaint  Wink. Do you verify the names of faucets manually or is it an automated script that checks the <title> tags?
Because mine is still not listed. If you do it manually I undestand the delay, because I think it's because of the Holidays then.

Speaking of that, I wish you all a Happy New Year tomorrow (good, now I don't have to say that tomorrow anymore   Tongue )

Anybody here used xapo api use once because email based payout reduces bot attack . obviously bot can't create many xapo accounts because they have their own security.

A xapo user can use his funds only if he have fully verified account.

Yes, its mine. I think so too. I managed to solve this problem by disabling Nastyhosts through database. But its not a solution. Why my IP is in blacklist?  Cry

Anybody here used xapo api use once because email based payout reduces bot attack . obviously bot can't create many xapo accounts because they have their own security.

A xapo user can use his funds only if he have fully verified account.

Xapo doesn't only require email.
It also require your social security number and bunch of other info.

What ? I nothing gave them like that info and I'm doing pretty much better with xapo . Xapo is reputed company .

What IP do you see there exactly? I will check why it's banned. Unfortunately false-positives may happen, that's why Nastyhosts is disabled by default.

Unless stated otherwise, all opinions are of my own, not FaucetBOX.com's.

92.112.233.199

NastyHosts doesn't block this address: http://v1.nastyhosts.com/92.112.233.199 (suggestion: allow).
Do you have anything in "List of hostnames to ban" in your admin panel? Disabling NastyHosts also disables checking hostnames, so maybe you've blocked yourself through that.

Unless stated otherwise, all opinions are of my own, not FaucetBOX.com's.

Remove ukrtel.net from that list.
If I got it right your hostname is pool.ukrtel.net and partial match is enough to block you so removing that should fix it.
