Bitcoin and Litecoin are not fungible, like a currency MUST be. It also does not offer private transactions. Do you want everyone to know every transaction you are ever involved in, how much you get paid, how much tax you pay, etc? Bitcoin will be great, and may give you early retirement, but there are newer crypto's using new innovation which are fungible and offer the option of private transactions. They will surely take off in a big way over the next year or two.

Active development: Bitcoin has a full time paid developer and dozens of contributors. Litecoin has one part time developer.

Litecoin can handle a higher volume of transactions thanks to its faster block generation. If bitcoin were to try to match this, it would require significant updates to the code that everyone on the bitcoin network is currently running.

It is simple people follow the trend, today bitcoin is more in demand and more places accepted for buying online so btc is better than litecoin.

I believe they're quite same!
However, Litecoin (LTC) seems to have an advantage when it comes to faster transactions times... On the other hand... I don't know if it has bigger blocks

Supporters of Litecoin like to market it as "Silver to Bitcoin's Gold," since there will be far more Litecoins produced and blocks are generated 4 times faster, making it better for day-to-day transactions. Opponents of Litecoin point out that the number of coins produced is irrelevant, since individual coins are so divisible; the benefit of the 2.5 minute block time is debatable.

Sure, there's probably exceptions. However, bitcoin was there first, has the largest push behind it, has all the peripheral businesses, and more developments

I really like LTCs increased transaction speed. I spent a week or two playing around with some Litecoin gambling sites and exchanges, and got so used to the fast confirms that I found myself annoyed with waiting when I went back to Bitcoin. Of course, Bitcoin isn't going anywhere as the top cryptocurrency, but I would like to see more Litecoin integration into sites that already accept Bitcoin

hemm litecoin is better in this section The faster block time of litecoin reduces the risk of double spending attacks – this is theoretical in the case of both networks having the same hashing power.

I don't know if it was already said but: Bitcoin is better because his original creator is unknown. Something that cannot be imitated never, that's the another special thing about the first Cryptocoin in the world. ![Kiss](https://bitcointalk.org/Smileys/default/kiss.gif)
