There's no schedule.  If you want to talk with the devs, go to Freenode IRC #catcoin-dev.  Thanks for checking in.

There's plenty of time until halving - so there are plenty of coins for you to mine - and since we're consistently profitable to mine, that's a good thing!   Cool

FYI CATS...   Looks like there's trouble in the Los Angeles data center today.  The Geekhash pool front-end is down, as is the catcoinwallets site and block explorer.  They're on different servers but in the same data center.  I don't know the status of the Geekhash mining back end server - I've not yet been able to contact Blak.

More news when we've got it...

EDIT...ok, looks like the data center's back on-line and so's Geekhash and catcoinwallets.

EDIT2...  Looks like the outage started when a circuit breaker at the data center destroyed itself.  Blak reports that he has to rebuild the BTC mining node for GeekHash as a result of corruption from the power hit.  That's also the machine that serves the CATCoin block chart that's posted on catcoinwallets.  The block explorer and the seed node are back on-line.

EDIT3...  The block chart is running again, as is GH BTC mining.

A little more push and we get into coinpayments.  This is a good time to buy.

kinda cool, just started messing with this and did a little home-brew pool to try it.. Got a block (plain ole luck)
Now I have a couple of questions... one: why is it so hard to find info on compiling catcoin-cli? or was that just sort of skiped over...

Nevermind 2nd question got answered by just poking around the blockchain a little more.

Congrats on the block!  Fun to set up a stratum package and solve one, isn't it?   Cool

For the CLI - which OS?  (Yes, there's room for improvement in the docs. Wink )

Hahaha I was excited and forgot!  ubuntu 16.04

Anyway I was messing with pool software, and saw a page where catcoin can be a primary coin with some merged mined ones, so I started reading about it, and y'all seemed cool, it looked like I had a shot at solving a block to make 100% sure the pool software worked and I didn't screw anything up.
Been working on it for ever it seems but always used LTC as the default pool and.. yeah.. no way for me to see for sure if I'm not finding anything or I just messed something up. Smiley

There ya go.   Cool  Yeah, the catcoind compiles a CLI/catcoind for *nix and Windows.  Have to add a few more hoops to get the GUI.

Glad you're having fun!

I know it may seem silly, but this is the most excited I've been in a while. - Smiley Now I gotta figure out how to work in merged mining without breaking it all.. well more than 20 times anyway. *rofl* Grandkids are coming for the holidays so might not get around to it til after though.

All of the details are listed in post 1 of this thread, and on the project site at catcoins.org.

Average block time is 10 minutes and each block pays 50 CAT.

Welcome to CAT!

Not silly at all!  It's a lot of fun when the pieces start fitting together, isn't it?   Cool

Happy New Year!
