Hah! What makes you think I'd want to spend my own money on international airfares to benefit BFL?

My next choice is Steve Gibson.  No idea what his Bitcointalk alias is, if he even has one.

I've resold units to people here on the forums & think I've developed a decent reputation, but that's for the community to decide.

You also sold your sig space to them Wink.

So y-dog?

sunbreak

If i am informed correctly, sunbreak does not have a stake in this one way or the other, he would be a good impartial judge.  He is also very knowledgeable in the area.

edit:  or me Smiley

Sure, I'll go ... and it's true ... I do not own any fpga's or have anything invested in asic's nor did I invest any money with pirate for that matter.

As for credentials;

I personally run a 57 ghash/sec gpu only mining cluster on 110x6950's and 24x5970's on 24 machines with no AC and using only 20kW.
I'm the author of strippedminer the 187mb netboot mining distro.
I originally wrote all the --auto-fan --auto-gpu code that is in cgminer as an external script and independently sponsored the ADL implementation in cgminer by conman).
I also was the one suffered lengthy testing with conman to reveal proper methods to restart stalled gpu's in cgminer.
I identified and diagnosed the lack of dns caching and http connection reuse in cgminer which conman reimplemented as a curl ring buffer saving all of our routers

Well that's enough, I've done lots of stuff in the community ... and I would love to get a chance to put bfl to the test.

I'd be happy for sunbreak and abracadabra to go.

After that... anyone but Jesus.

Anyone who has been compensated by BFL or is already a public proponent should be excluded, let's keep this an unbiased site visit.

I agree. I think gmaxwell would be a good choice, if he's interested.

I don't, the developers/maintainers of bitcoin should remain neutral on all hardware issues and eliminate any possible conflict of interest.

I wonder what difference it makes who visits ? as long as we get videos of ASICs performing, and pictures of the assembling line, then that's all the proof we need.

I personally would like to see one long-term bitcoin developer in the people you fly over, for example jojkaart.

DrHaribo is one name I can think of, not a developer asfar as I know, but a dedicated pool op.

[edit] I realise I nominated two europeans, but are you really that tight on funds when it comes to your credibility ?

wow, just found the thread - should delve further into some of these threads lol
being impartial I'd love to go
but being realistic I cant pony up the airfare - although if there are samples to bring home could be worth the trip? (joke)

I have known Sunbreak and abracadabra  for some time, I have found them both to be trustworthy and honest and would be happy to have either or both go.
I will be more then happy to take a day or two off work and write an article for http://www.btcmu.info about the trip. Would some pictures be ok?
Is a trusted Ozcoin staff member getting a good info site going - worth considering Smiley

there are many others around Bitcoin that would also be suitable Smiley
Interesting idea
cheers

I'd like to go, but I'm pretty sure I'm not that well known.

I'll nominate yochdog. He's a miner, seems pretty well known, has BFL FPGAs, and has traded tens of thousands of dollars with forum members including a few thousand with me. I'd trust his report.

I would be willing to make the trip if BFL will have me.

I am a trusted trader!  Ask Inaba, Luo Demin, Vanderbleek, Sannyasi, Episking, Miner99er, Isepick, Amazingrando, Cablez, ColdHardMetal, Dextryn, MB300sd, Robocoder, gnar1ta$ and many others!

I would go, I live in TN and can fly out of ATL.  I would be willing to post my findings here, as well as on the many blogs I post to.

I have been an on again off again cheerleader for BFL.  I supported them when they first came out, even though I skipped out on buying FPGA technology because I was saving my BTC for ASICs.  I am now an early pre-order customer for a few Jalapeno's and a Single.  I have been critical of BFL and Inaba as of late with this "new" information coming out, but I am still optimistically skeptical they will deliver on their November release. I still want to see them succeed, and I would give an unbiased view of the company.

I also have a strong background in the IS/IT industry, and have been a Red Hat, and AIX sysadmin for several years. I have a BSBA in Management information systems and have a pretty good business acumen that I use for my own consulting firm.

yochdog also has 4 (crazyates, Xfinity nomorecoin, and myself). Five if you include psilan's, but yochdog is still a few posts shy of 1337 posts and it seemed like the comment was more for humor.
