i started with faucets as most of bitcoin lovers, but now i use it sometimes only for fun
it's consuming long periods of my time and likely worthless
There is much better bitcoin sources like trading and signature campaigns

My first bitcoins came from Primedice signature campaign way back September 2014. From then on, I started to buy a little amount of btc every month and I have never failed to do so for the past 10 months.

How'd you get your first bitcoins (faucets aside) and what did you do to them?
my first bitcoins were actually bought by me, i remember i bought 0.05btc when the prices exploded and btc was around $900 ea. other than that ive gotten btc from gambling and signature campaigns.

I have actually lost track. By looking at my first transaction ever which was in the blockchain.info wallet that I created years ago, I think it was thanks to selling some Doge that I mined back in the day and bought them on Cryptsy.

For starters which haven't really other solid source of bitcoins faucets can be source from micro earnings temporarily; giveaways aren't available everytime for everyone like faucets as known

A lot of people will always ahve fond memories of Dogecoin. Thanks to DOGE, i know a lot of people that made their first BTC because they had a lot when it was cheap to mine, and sold them at 200 satoshi each.

My first Bitcoin actually came from a friend back in 2012.
The good ol' days when faucets can give 1-2 bitcoins per user. I wish I could go back in 2011-2012. I'd definitely rape every faucet available back then.

Is this TRUE? WOW!!! I had no idea that faucets operated back then...that would have been cool (of course at the time they would have been considered dust payments as they are now).

My first Bitcoin was a Casascius coin.

Yes, I have learned that not so while ago as well. 1 BTC per one faucet, that's just crazy even to think at this moment.

I hope that in 5 years we will be looking at these amounts that faucets are giving away today and write the same posts how we wish we have raped every single faucet out there! Smiley

Yeah this is true. And if I'm not wrong I believe also Gavin Andresen had a faucet where you got up to 5 BTC!! But that must have been around 2010 or 2011.Faucets exist for quite a long time now.Only the amount you get becomes smaller and smaller.

That time Bitcoin is only some cents! But now it is around $400!
When I got to know Bitcoin in 2013, I tried to collect from faucets as much as I can.
