I bought it on an exchange. I wonder which it was. MtGox maybe? Or bitcoin24.com? I sent it to a normal standard bitcoin-qt wallet and found later that they are worth more now.

I've actually forgot at this point, but I think the first that came inside my Bitcoin Core wallet (Bitcoin-QT back then) was some satoshis I bought in VirWox in exchange of second life lindell dollars as a test, bought with paypal. Ridiculous fees.

I bought like 0.1 at 550 USD back in November 2013 after my brother told me he just got into it (I heard of it when price was 10, but ofcourse, as a lot of you, ignored it..).

Mining really is my bread and butter. I have stuck with it from GPU days. It's something you have to have a passion for.
But it's a lot of fun if you enjoy it. I plan on keeping mining as long as I can. Hopefully long time.

My first bitcoin came from buying it and then investing in a few alts which for how newbie I was done awesome and I made even more bitcoin, from then that same bitcoin has continued to multiply and I've never had to buy anymore even after withdrawing quite a bit.

Made my first whole bitcoin via grinding btc poker sites. Since then I've made most of my coin via trading btc, either trading coins directly on an exchange or with various derivative instruments.

Mining. I've only been involved with bitcoin for 3 months, so I'm quite the small-fry compared to many on this forum who are "in the game"

My very first bitcoins came from a friend over in Russia, sent me .001 and I thought I was very rich. To my disappointment I found out I had a very small amount and was a hobo.

I earned my first bitcoin with GPU mining on LTC, back when it was profitable. However i didn't get into the gold rush at start. I didn't have decent enough GPU back then~

My first bitcoins came from Primedice signature campaign way back September 2014. From then on, I started to buy a little amount of btc every month and I have never failed to do so for the past 10 months.
How'd you get your first bitcoins (faucets aside) and what did you do to them?
My first bitcoin (indeed it was one but 4 bitcoins) I got from an exchange named virwox. It was the only one from which I can have bitcoins with Paypal and I use it to buy four bitcoins. It was cheap at the time (about 100 us dollar). I was problem when I tried to withdraw because they don't gave the bitcoins immediately. I was afraid that my money were gone forever bur after exactly two days my bitcoins were in my wallet.
